Do-it-yourself panel made of wooden boards. Wooden panels to order. Recommendations for those who plan to make wooden panels with their own hands

In the cold season, you really want to make your interior more comfortable and warm. A budget decor made from improvised materials can help with this. We have collected a number of great ideas, the implementation of which does not take much time and does not require large expenses.

1. Panel on the wall

Wood is a versatile material that looks especially good in an interior designed in an ecological style. To create a budget wood decor, you will need boards and bars of different sizes, varnish, glue and acrylic paints. Wall compositions of flowers fixed on wooden boards look interesting in the interior. This option is suitable even for Provence or Shabby Chic interiors.

2. Photo frames

The interior becomes especially cozy when it is decorated with family photos. Interestingly, frames for them can also be made from unnecessary old boards. All you have to do is hang a few pieces on the wall. And attach the photo with stationery pins or glue. Small bars make excellent table frames that can be decorated with burlap and jute.

3. Interior decoration

Wood waste will also be useful in the restoration of old furniture. So, small stumps are suitable for the role of a decorative element, for example, for a mirror or hanger. It is better to fix the stumps with glue, and it will not be superfluous to cover them with varnish on top. Such a technique will breathe new life into old interior items, and make the space original.

4. Practical use of stumps

Hemp is very easy to apply in the interior. In the kitchen, they can become stylish hot coasters. In the living room, they can decorate the wall. And if you cover the surface of the hemp with slate or marker paint, then you can leave pleasant messages or reminders on it.

Empty walls inspire boredom, sometimes they even blow cold. The room becomes uncomfortable. The highlight of any interior will be a panel on the wall with your own hands. Make it easy. The main thing is to turn on your imagination and stock up on materials for the case.

How to place correctly

To properly place, you should consider some points:

  • integrity and volume - do not cut off or hide part of the work, then the meaning will be lost and it will look ugly;
  • purpose of the premises - for what purposes it is intended;
  • harmony in combination with decoration - the selection of things and palettes.

The kitchen will be decorated with thematic things: fruits, vegetables, still lifes, grain products, cereals, spices, with the participation of cutlery, dishes.

The bedroom induces an atmosphere of lightness, peace, tranquility. Here people relax not only in body, but also in soul. Heavy items will be out of place.

Light bright colors, favorite characters of the child, animals, collages from children's photos and other interesting objects are chosen for the child's room.

In the hall, the design is complemented by wood products, macrame or abstractions.

Master class on manufacturing

Guests from the shores will perfectly fit into a room in a marine style. Before proceeding with the manufacture of a masterpiece, shells are washed, cleaned and sorted by color and size. For work, you should prepare:

  • sorted shells;
  • stain;
  • watercolor;
  • flap;
  • glue.

The main members are covered with clear nail polish to make them last longer. Prepare a piece of plywood. It is pulled over with a net, burlap or sprinkled with sand. Shells are randomly stacked on top. If the needlewoman has conceived a whole sea adventure, she first draws it and lays it out in this case according to the applied markings.

The easiest way to dilute a boring design is paper crafts. It can be:

  • Photo;
  • wallpaper pictures;
  • figures from colored parchment.

They do not require special skills, abilities and costs.

What can a canvas be made from?

Often, after repair, pieces remain that have not been used. From them you can make a beautiful canvas. For this you will need:

  1. bustilat;
  2. scissors and knife;
  3. baguette (from foam or polyurethane foam);
  4. level, ruler;
  5. pencil or marker;
  6. moisture resistant dye.

The level measures and outlines the space for gluing the rim. The baguette itself is cut at the joints at an angle of 45 °. Connect it to the wall along the drawn lines. After that, the excess adhesive mass is removed, the frame is painted. They turn on fantasy and glue a masterpiece from shreds, a single piece, or combine these two methods together.

Original collage on the wall

Collage making is a fun activity for the whole family. You need to think in advance how it will be designed and where it will be placed. Choose the right frames, print pictures. The drawing of a branched tree with leaves and photo frames on the branches will become original. They dilute the photos with nature views, mountains, unusual images.

We use improvised means donated by nature

Eco-material is very popular and is used in the implementation of various design ideas:

  • wood cutting;
  • landscapes with branches, dried leaves;
  • photo frames.

Abstractions, laid out of bars, inlaid with stones, look beautiful and original. Wood products will look elegant in any setting. To preserve wooden structures, they are treated with special means, varnished.

Flexible branches are selected so that they take a position in the composition and do not break. Fastened with staples, self-tapping screws (the hats are overwritten). Thin ones are tied together with wire. For the background, choose cardboard, fiberboard, burlap. Suitable for the interior in the bedroom, hallway, living room. You can always diversify, add new elements. They go well with dried leaves and flowers.

From wine corks

Unusual canvas from wine corks. Prepare for collection:

  • fiberboard sheet;
  • liquid Nails;
  • mastic.

They collect plugs of different sizes, shades. When the set is assembled, pre-purchased plywood comes into play. With a glue gun, strips are drawn from edge to edge and inserted in any order. When the entire sheet is covered with them, varnish or mastic is applied on top.

improvised materials

Easy to make from scrap materials. As a basis, you can take a sheet of plywood, chipboard or any other, cover it with a cloth, fasten it with a stapler on the reverse side. The bezel is installed if desired, but without it it will look stylish.

With sewing

Technique for sewing images from flaps. Contours are outlined on cardboard, the pieces are laid out on top and sewn together by hand or on a sewing machine. For fabric or solid canvas, patterns are used. For the work, not only fabric is used, but also paints, brushes.

Needlewomen sew New Year's toys from it, for children, make canvases. You can buy at any store. Patterns, scissors, thread with a needle will come in handy. This craft will decorate the room and is perfect as a keepsake.

They use it under the base, fit frames, sew brownies. Herbariums, flour salts, things with the addition of buttons, stones, beads, ropes look very good against its background. Burlap paintings are placed in bright colorful frames for greater effect.

Handmade weaving

Ancient weaving will require threads and cords. For beginners, cotton, linen or wool are suitable. When choosing, you should focus on torsion, so the pattern will be more clearly visible. A panel knitted with knotted weaving can be made in a square, circle, rectangle, large or small. The palette of shades depends only on desire. Macrame can be immediately weaved from colored ones, it can be made from white ones, then painted. Add decor.

Difficult and painstaking work that requires patience and attention. You will need: a flap, glue, fishing line, beads in a palette and sizes. There are three ways to embody a masterpiece of beads:

  • glue them to the base;
  • embroider on fabric;
  • classic - weave according to the scheme.

First, the decoration itself is made using the chosen method. In the latter, it is fixed with wire or glue. Finished fixed in a frame and hung.

Plaster molding

A three-dimensional composition of flowers, molded from plaster, will be an excellent way out for a bedroom or living room. You can buy a mixture for modeling in specialized stores for creativity, along with forms and a base. For creativity, it is advised to take small areas.

Plaster is molded in small pieces so that it does not have time to dry and it is easy to work with.

Modeling from decorative plaster

The process is similar to plaster, but requires more time, skills and costs. Work from plaster is performed on a prepared surface. It should be smooth and even. For this:

  • draw a sketch on parchment;
  • transfer it to plaster;
  • apply layers, determine the shape;
  • give texture with a hard brush;
  • when it is ready, let it dry;
  • sandpaper level the surface, remove excess;
  • painted with paints.

Decorative plaster is used for panoramas on walls or ceilings.

To prepare the dough, you will need:

  • salt - 1 tbsp. l;
  • water - 125 ml;
  • unrefined vegetable oil - 1 tbsp. l;
  • flour - 2 cups.

Decoupage

New - well-forgotten old. The decoupage technique is used to update old canvases, boards and other furnishings. Beads, ribbons, stickers, clippings are glued to the base. Elements are drawn. They are hung on a rope or on a hook.

In a large room, several paintings are hung, united by one theme, made using the decoupage technique.

From colored paper

Many small butterflies with curly wings are cut out of colored paper and folded into a figure. At one end, they recreate the effect as if they were flying away. Performed in the same scale with gradients from light to more saturated bright shade. Attached to the surface with double-sided tape.

They also make 3-D shapes out of it. The squares are folded with an accordion, bent in half and stretched. The resulting circles are interconnected with a stapler and attached to the selected place. They are able not only to diversify it, but also to close defects.

Such decorations with your own hands will not take much time and effort.

We are preparing for the new year

Making Christmas decor takes creativity. For its manufacture, they take pasta, cones, cotton pads and other household items.

Macaroni easily stack with each other and take the required format, like figures from Tetris. Just paint them the color you want. Snowflakes are made from round ones, and long snow maidens are used for hair.

If the buds are washed in white, they will be much more interesting in the overall landscape. From them complex volumetric works are obtained.

Snowdrifts are made from cotton wool. Attach all these items with glue.

The simplest design is made from disposable tableware. For this:

  • take a circle (cut out of thick parchment or use a thick disposable plate);
  • disposable forks or spoons are laid out around the entire circumference with the handle to the center, glued to hot glue;
  • the resulting design is decorated with tinsel.

Such an ornament can be hung or presented as a souvenir or craft to a kindergarten.

Wall paintings are a simple design solution for updating a room, making changes to a familiar environment.

Expert advice:

  • a large panel is placed in the hall, where there is a lot of space;
  • for safety, things are covered with a paint and varnish agent;
  • the basis of the paint for the picture should be identical to the one with which the walls are covered;
  • in the absence of artistic skills, stencils and aerosol dyes save.

Include children in the process. They will enthusiastically collect twigs, leaves, flowers and come up with new ideas, among which you can find great solutions for creating an unusual image.

Panel on the wall - photo of successful design options in the interior

Home is the place where you want to feel as comfortable as possible. There are various ways to make it even more cozy. But it is especially nice when the decor elements are made by hand. Decorative panels in the interior always attract admiring glances, and making them from improvised materials is not difficult if you follow the technology correctly and follow the instructions step by step.

What it is

The panel is an element of decor and its purpose is to decorate the interior and fill the empty space on the walls or ceiling. Sounds very similar to the description of the painting, doesn't it? How does it differ from the picture, if both decor options are designed to decorate the room? The answer is simple: the picture is the subject of the art of painting, and the panel can consist of anything. Dough, plastic, gypsum, beads, fabric, wood - there is no limit to fantasy when it comes to making panels and the material for decoration can be anything. If you want to make your interior unique, then the panel will do just fine!

Scope of work

The first step in creating a wall panel is to decide on the design of the future product. If you already know where it will be located, then this complicates the task. It is necessary to weigh the color scheme, the dimensions that it will have, whether the material from which it is planned to be made fits into the overall picture of the interior.

So, we decide: size, color scheme and what materials will be used. This is the first step. If possible, it is worth drawing a sketch of the planned product. This will help to take into account all the nuances in the execution of the task.

If a piece of cardboard, canvas or any other solid surface is taken as the basis, then markings are made on it: where and how the decor elements will be located. If the base is fabric, then it is stretched over the base (for example, on a piece of plywood, board or plastic), and the rest of the fabric is fixed from the back. After the craft is completed, it is placed in a frame and hung on the wall.

There is another option for making panels on a fabric basis. You will need to take a solid base, for example, a drywall sheet of the right size and glue foam rubber to it. On the resulting soft base, the fabric is stretched. In this case, you can do without a frame.

After all the preparations, you can proceed to the main part of the manufacture: decoration.

Types of panels with your own hands

Consider the main types used in decoration:

fabricThese are all variants of embroidery, appliqués and tapestry techniques that are made on fabric. The execution technique can be anything: from hand embroidery to machine embroidery, made by mass production.
StoneOften made in mosaic technique. Natural stones are used, which are considered noble: basalt, marble and others. Rarely in such products there is also an artificial stone.
from ceramicsThey are made using ceramic tiles and are usually placed in the bathroom or kitchen.
sculpturalVolumetric version of the product, which is made of special plaster, gypsum or metal.
GraphicEverything that is done with the help of various types of printing. It can be reproductions of paintings, photo printing.
Other typesHere are handmade products that are made using any improvised materials. Salt dough, wood, dried flowers and plants, shells, clay, beads - there is no limit to fantasy for decoration.

Here are examples of the manufacture of various types of panels:

From prints of fruits and vegetables

When creating this panel, a child can also participate, as it is very simple to perform. The bright, colorful design of this creation is perfect for the kitchen.

For manufacturing you will need:

  • Solid vegetables or fruits (it can be apples, any citrus fruits, pears, cabbage, etc.);
  • Paint (gouache, oil, acrylic);
  • The basis on which the decoration will be made. It can be cardboard, a board, a fabric stretched over a sheet of drywall.

The surface of the base is pre-degreased and painted in the desired shade. Cut fruits and vegetables in half and dip them in the paint. The dye is best poured thinly into a plate. We apply the painted fruit with the cut side to the base and get a stamp.

Stamps are made anywhere on the base, but images that look symmetrical look best.

From paper

There are many options for making paper creations. Let's look at the main ones:

From round paper structures

This product can be made with your own hands in an hour and is a great way to decorate the interior, as well as get a lot of positive emotions.

Let's prepare the materials:

  • colored paper;
  • Paperclips;
  • Scotch;
  • pins;
  • stapler.

Procedure:

  1. A sheet of paper is folded into an accordion, like a fan.
  2. We bend the accordion in half.
  3. We fix the edges at the fold with a stapler so that the accordion does not fall apart and a small fan is obtained. We connect three such fans and get a circle.
  4. Accordions of different colors can be combined into one circle, then the panel will turn out even brighter.
  5. Connect many circles together by attaching them to the wall with safety pins. The size of the circles and the composition itself can be as large as desired and take any shape.

From photos

In fact, this is a collage of photographs or artistic pictures, which can either have a specific theme or be completely abstract. Photos are combined into one composition and fixed on the wall or other base. Design option: combine many images of sea and sky.

From colored paper

There are a lot of options for making crafts from colored paper. Today we offer the option "Flowers from Hearts", which is suitable even for a children's master class. It is very easy to perform, is an excellent tool for the development of fine motor skills of the child, and it looks amazing!

We will need:

  • Office colored paper;
  • The basis for the panel;
  • Pencil;
  • Scissors;
  • Cardboard;
  • Paints;
  • Tassels;
  • Frame.

Let's get started:

  1. Cut out the heart template. To make one flower, we need eight of these hearts. All hearts in a flower must be the same size.
  2. Fold the heart in half and get a petal.
  3. We glue a flower from such petals onto the base. It can be cardboard or a wall.
  4. To make flower leaves, you need smaller green hearts.
  5. We lay out the flowers in any order, depending on the general shape of the desired panel. It can be a heart shape, or you can lay out flowers in the shape of a tree. Show your imagination and bring it to life!

From newspaper tubes

Newspapers can be great for making DIY panels.

Necessary materials:

  • Newspapers;
  • Knitting needle;
  • Glue;
  • Wire;
  • Brush;
  • Knife;
  • Acrylic paint.

Procedure:

  1. We cut the newspaper sheet into two parts with a knife.
  2. Apply a thin layer of glue to these parts.
  3. We wind sheets of newspapers on a knitting needle diagonally. You should get thin tubes.
  4. We take acrylic paint and paint over newspaper tubes in the desired color.
  5. We coat the resulting flagella with glue again and wrap the ends of each newspaper tube so that a spiral is obtained. Both ends must be twisted in opposite directions if you want to get the shape of a seahorse. You can make a circle: for this you just need to roll the entire tube in a spiral.
  6. We fix the spirals with rubber bands and leave for 24 hours to dry.
  7. We remove the rubber bands and make up the desired pattern from the resulting elements. Elements can be immediately mounted on the wall, or create a panel on a pre-prepared basis.

Circles of newspaper tubes can be painted in different colors, combining several shades in one circle. Circles with a gradient look interesting: a transition from one color to another.

From wallpaper

This is an interesting solution that will enliven your interior and give it even more comfort.
There are several ways to make a panel of wallpaper yourself:

  • Patchwork technique

Cut out fragments from existing wallpaper. Pieces can be of any shape, but must fit together. Consider the general view of the entire future composition. For example, you can cut flower squares from three different types of wallpaper and combine them together in several rows in a certain sequence. In this case, paired elements do not have to be arranged symmetrically.

  • Whole wallpaper technique

We take the wallpaper with the desired image (for example, a sakura branch), carefully cut it out and paste it into the frame, or glue it on the wall and decorate it with moldings or panels.

  • Style Combination

The design here is only limited by your imagination! Combine whole pieces of wallpaper with small cut-out fragments. This is a modern and inexpensive way to decorate your home.
Important! If you can’t decide on the style of the future composition, then you should take a closer look at the image of flowers and plants in soft colors. It is always appropriate and looks beautiful.

From salt dough

This type of panel is one of the most budgetary, since its manufacture requires a minimum of material and usually everything you need is always at home.

We offer a variant of a stucco panel, where the arms and legs of your child will be printed. This creation will allow you to decorate your baby's bedroom in an original way and keep the memory of his childhood for a long time.

We will need:

  • Flour;
  • Salt;
  • Colored gouache (optional).

Procedure:

  1. We take flour and salt in proportions of two to one. Two cups of flour are mixed with a glass of salt, then water is added. The approximate volume of water for this amount of flour and salt will be 125 ml.
  2. Knead a stiff dough. If it sticks to your hands, add more flour. The dough should be elastic and not stick to your hands.
  3. If you want to make the panel colorful, then it's time to add gouache, decorating the dough with it.
  4. Roll out the dough. Its approximate thickness should be about 2 centimeters. The shape of a piece of dough can be any.
  5. We bring the dough to the baby and gently press his palm and foot into the mass. The pressure should be light, but sufficient to leave a mark.
  6. We make two through holes in the dough - this is for the future ribbon, on which the panel will then hang.
  7. Put everything on a baking sheet and cover with baking paper.
  8. Preheat the oven to 90 degrees and put the dough there to dry. This will take approximately two to two and a half hours. It is necessary to turn the dough gently once, in the middle of drying.
  9. We paint the resulting panel with colored or white gouache, thread the tape into the holes - voila! A very touching and cute decoration for your home is ready!

From fabric

Making panels with fabric came into fashion not so long ago: only in recent years, hand-made lovers have turned their close attention to the fabric. Such a product is ideal for an interior in the Provence style. Consider the main types of woven panels that you can do with your own hands:

Patchwork

Various techniques are used to make such panels, but they all have one thing in common: this is the use of scraps of fabric in the work. There are many patterns of such products on the Internet. Panels can be both on a fabric basis and on rigid structures. You will need any fabric for making: from pieces of tulle to scraps of old bed linen.

Felt for creativity

The felt panel is one of the most popular among needlewomen. You only need pieces of felt of different colors, a pattern of future details of the picture, threads with a needle or glue and a base on which it is planned to fix all the details of the panel. Felt is a very fertile material for creativity: it will help to bring all fantasies to life. A felt panel will be a great decoration for your living room or hallway.

Burlap looks like an extremely nondescript material, but it begins to play with completely different colors when craftswomen use it in their work. Burlap can be wrapped around a frame for a panel, can be used as a basis for other materials: beads, lace and others. This coarse material perfectly emphasizes the tenderness and sophistication of other fabrics.

A wool panel is the simplest product in the wet felting technique. This is an interesting process in which the wool is compacted in a certain way to make felt. The drawing on such a panel can be anything: it all depends on the skill of the needlewoman.

If you want to take a one-color piece of fabric and draw a certain picture on it, then keep in mind that this is not as easy as it seems. It is worth practicing on a draft, and then move on to the fabric that you plan to use on the panel.

From beads

In this version of the panel, all or part of its elements are made of beads. To begin with, the elements themselves are made, and then they are already fixed to the base and, if desired, framed.

From thread and nails

This is far from new, but a very interesting way to make a panel with your own hands! Minimalism reigns here in the choice of materials, but this panel does not become insipid and boring, but, on the contrary, attracts admiring glances.

The whole point is that carnations are hammered onto a solid base. This can be done randomly, or it can be done according to a certain scheme, which can be successfully found on the Internet. Threads are stretched between the nails in several layers. Thanks to this, a certain pattern is created.

From buttons

Ideal option for beginners! Buttons can be used to decorate a panel made of fabric or paper, or you can create a product made entirely of buttons. This will require

  • PVA glue;
  • Buttons;
  • The foundation.

Order of execution:

  1. Draw on the basis of the sketch: where the buttons will be located and what pattern they should depict together.
  2. Glue the buttons with PVA glue to the base.

The design can be anything: inscriptions, abstraction, flora and fauna, and others.

Mirror panel

A modern panel created from pieces of mirrors. Complex variants of it can only be made by specialists, while simple ones are very accessible for independent work. The mirror panel will become an additional lighting in the room.

Necessary materials:

  • Mirror tiles;
  • Liquid Nails;
  • Base with wooden planks, if you plan to stick the mirrors not directly on the wall.

The principle of operation is clear: we combine various mirror pieces and fasten them in the right order to the wall or other base with liquid nails.

They are usually made in an abstract style from a variety of wood species. Wooden panels with inlaid semi-precious stones look very advantageous in a classic interior.

Dry flowers and leaves

Great for kids creativity. We decide on the plot of the future work, and then on a solid base (cardboard, fiberboard) with glue we glue dried flowers and leaves (juniper twigs, tree leaves - any flora will do). Grains, seeds and twigs will be an excellent addition.

Grains and seeds

A sketch of the future picture is applied to a solid, already painted base. Then, cereals and seeds are attached to the base with PVA glue. Large grains need to be glued each individually, and a small scattering, for example, rice, should be poured onto the glue already applied to the base.

The word “deficit” is a thing of the past, and it is not even known to the modern generation. But now people are faced with another difficulty, namely the same type of goods. This applies to interior items to no lesser extent. Mountains of identical paintings and interior items do not contribute to the creation of an individual style.

So what to do? Reconcile? There is a better way to decorate the interior with your own hands, and in this article we will tell you how to make a wooden wall panel yourself.

Option one: three-dimensional panel

The main advantage of creating wall panels is that you are limited only by your own imagination. Any idea can be brought to life, the main thing is to have sufficient perseverance and patience. And of course, we need a certain set of tools.

A three-dimensional panel is an image, but not applied to the surface, but cut out on it. Wait, don't flip through this page right away, you don't need any wood carving skills to make a 3D image. Everything can be done much easier.

So, if you have the makings of an artist, then you can create a drawing yourself, but if you don’t have them, you can simply find a suitable image on the Internet and print it in real size. From this drawing we will make a stencil. We just cut out everything superfluous with scissors and leave only the outline, which will later be our drawing.

In the meantime, you cut out the stencil, here is a list of everything we need to make wood panels on the wall.

Tools and materials

Would need:

  • Stencil. We have already talked about its production.
  • Elements for a frame or a finished baguette.
  • Electric jigsaw with small files.
  • Pencil or marker.
  • Drill and drill to it with a diameter of about 6 millimeters.
  • PVA glue or hot glue and a gun for applying it.
  • Paint brushes and roller.
  • Transparent varnishes and paints depending on the composition you have chosen.
  • Sandpaper of various grinding.

Of course, this is not a complete list, since in many ways it will be supplemented depending on what materials you have chosen for manufacturing and how complex your drawing will be. In any case, the process is creative, and many interesting thoughts and decisions come at the time of work, so we will simply give you a guide on how to make the option we have chosen and from our materials.

And we will use a natural wooden board as a substrate, which, if desired, can be replaced with plywood or fiberboard, which are much easier to work with. So, to work.

Manufacturing

Our wooden wall panel will be made of boards, but due to its size, the width of one board will not be enough for us, so we will have to glue several segments together. With pva glue, the process will look a little more complicated, since the glued elements will need to be pressed tightly against each other and kept for several days, so the best option would be to use hot melt adhesive, which hardens much faster and holds the parts no less tightly.

So, our boards are frozen and now we have a canvas that needs to be given the required size. We take an electric jigsaw in our hands and cut off the excess parts. Now it's time to apply the selected pattern, through a pre-prepared stencil.

We apply it to the canvas and transfer the drawing with a pencil. We have a composition that now needs to be cut out, and here comes the most crucial stage, when you can’t make a mistake.

In any convenient part of the picture, we drill a hole. We need it in order to lower the jigsaw blade there. And now, slowly, trying to follow the drawn lines as much as possible, we cut out our drawing.

Advice! Choose the smallest files for the jigsaw. They make it easier to make curly cutouts and they do not leave scuffs and chips behind.

If in some places there are line breaks or complex turns that the jigsaw cannot handle, then we drill another hole in another part of the canvas and start sawing it from the other side. In principle, everything is ready, and if you don’t know how to work with a jigsaw at all, then the video in this article will help you figure it out, which shows detailed instructions, and in the meantime we move on to the next step.

decoration

Now that our drawing is cut out, it needs to be carefully sanded. First, we go through the places of the cut with sandpaper with large grains and remove large scuffs. Next, we clean the remaining irregularities with the finest paper. The drawing is ready.

To give it a more natural look, the surface can be covered with wood stain, and after it dries, scratch the top layer along the growth of the fibers with a metal brush. This will bring out the grain of the wood and bring out the design more vividly.

Now it remains to cover all this with a layer of varnish and let it dry thoroughly. After that, you can put our foam in a frame and hang it on the wall.

Option two: photo printing on wood

Did you think transferring the image to a wooden surface is possible only in a special studio? Nothing like this, you can do it at home. Moreover, unlike the first method, here we do not need an electric tool and artistic skills at all.

Just choose any photo you like and print it on a laser printer, and we will tell you how to transfer it to a wooden surface.

What do we need for this

So:

  • Photo transfer base. It can be any wooden surface. Choose what you like in terms of texture and color. There are no restrictions.
  • acrylic gel. Sold in any hobby store. For a panel measuring 50 by 50 centimeters, just one tube is enough.
  • A set of artistic brushes of different sizes and density. Part of the brushes will be needed for possible coloring, if necessary, part for applying a layer of varnish and gel.
  • Roller with rubber surface, or a special tool called a squeegee.
  • Clear varnish on wood or special colorless paraffin. The price of paraffin is somewhat higher, although outwardly it is difficult to distinguish it from ordinary varnish.

And of course, our printed photo in real size. All is ready? Then you can begin to create magic, and looking ahead, we note that this process is most similar to magic.

Transferring the photo to the tree

Note that we did not just mention that the photo should be printed on a laser printer. Only such an image can be transferred to a tree. Inkjet shots will not work here.

So, we take our canvas and cover it with a thin layer of acrylic gel. Let it stand for a few minutes and apply the photo face down to the surface.

The picture will probably lie unevenly, and under it there will be bubbles that need to be dispersed as much as possible. To do this, we need either a rubber roller or a squeegee, which is a small rubber spatula designed specifically for this job.

Advice! If after all the manipulations there are still bubbles on the surface, there is a way to get rid of them. It is enough just to pierce the bubble with a needle and smooth this place.

When the surface is smoothed, it must be left for a day at room temperature and in no case should you touch it with your hands and do not try to look under the paper. Be patient, the main magic is yet to come.

After a day, you need to remove the paper. It will not be easy to do this, and you will have to make some efforts, but the result is worth it. In the process of peeling paper, you will see how our usual wooden wall panel turns into a real work of art.

When all the paper is removed, you will see that our photo has completely transferred to the tree, and now it needs to be protected with a layer of varnish, and as an addition, you can age a little. To do this, take a sandpaper zero, and with light movements we wipe the drawing with it. The image becomes like in an old photo, and it looks very impressive.

That's all, it remains only to put on the frame and hang our panel on the wall. Agree, nothing complicated, but what an impressive result.

And in conclusion

As you can see, wooden wall panels can be very diverse, and we have given just two options. In fact, there are many more and the whole thing is only in your imagination.

Don't be afraid to get down to business. Even an unsuccessful experience is also an experience, and, as you know, it is priceless. Try, experiment, and then your house will be decorated with truly exclusive items that you can proudly say that no one else in the whole world has like them.
