Manufacturing technology of 3D floors

Modern construction technologies used in the renovation of apartments help to realize impressive interiors. Stretch ceilings with spot LEDs have already ceased to be something special; many people resort to this method to effectively decorate their homes. Recently, 3D floors are gaining popularity - coatings, the manufacturing technology of which allows you to recreate real pictures on the floor surface. What are the features of such floors and how to make them?

What is 3d floor?

3d floor is a self-leveling coating with a realistic picture that turns your home into a work of art. The three-dimensional image is created using the latest technologies, which were first used in Germany. The result of the fill is three-dimensional and creates a complete sense of the reality of the picture. The finished 3d floor can look like a flowering meadow, a seashore, a Persian carpet, or any other image.

Self-leveling floors are becoming increasingly popular both due to aesthetic appeal and some exclusivity, and because of their performance. 3d floors are made from modern materials that are environmentally friendly for human health. The perfectly flat surface of the finished floor has no joints, cracks or other defects, is resistant to dirt and does not accumulate dust.

The technology for assembling a 3D floor is relatively simple to implement, special artistic skills are not required here, but some experience in arranging floors is still necessary. To obtain a high-quality three-dimensional coating, it is necessary to carefully prepare the work surface, that is, to correctly fill in the rough base. To do this, you must have knowledge of what materials and how the fill is made.

Making a 3D floor picture includes three ways to work. How each of them is implemented can be viewed on the video of the process of creating a bulk structure. The first method is to use special polymer sheets with a pattern already applied. Such sheets have a large format and are laid on the working surface of the floor during the installation of the entire structure.

To create a pattern on the floor in the second way, creative skills or the presence of a hired art specialist are required, since the image is applied directly to a flat, prepared floor surface. The third method involves placing decorative elements on the surface of the future coating. Small stones, shells, sequins, beads and other items are placed on the transparent flooring layer. Decorating the floor in this way can be combined with the previous options for creating a three-dimensional image on the floor using a pattern.

Manufacturing process of 3d floor

3d floors look spectacular both in the living room and on the floor of the office. The technology of decorating the floor with a three-dimensional pattern is also suitable for other purposes. An unusual drawing can be placed on the floor of the shopping center hall or in one of the trading floors. Such a design solution will not go unnoticed by visitors. In everyday life, 3d floors are perfect for decorating a country house or summer cottage, where natural motifs emphasize your closeness to the surrounding landscape and create the right mood.

The procedure for manufacturing a 3d floor is based on creating a three-dimensional image: the thicker the finish layer of the coating, the more effective the applied pattern will look. For decoration, photographs, drawings, small details of natural origin, artificial elements are used. One of the main stages of work is the application of a special polymer mixture.

The installation technology of a 3d floor begins with preparatory work: it is necessary to prepare the base and the drawing itself, as well as apply the base layer. First you should decide what image you want to see on the floor of your apartment, and then print it on a large canvas. To do this, it is recommended to contact an outdoor advertising company. You can choose one of the options offered by experts, another image you found or a photo of yourself associated with some memories.

The manufacturing technology of self-leveling floors with a picture involves the use of a canvas with good image printing quality. For a 3d floor, the design must be printed on a matte satin canvas of the required size with a resolution of at least 1440 dpi. How such a canvas is created can be seen on a video recording the procedure for printing an image.

When you have already decided on the pattern, you can proceed to preparing the base for its application. The working surface is cleaned of any contaminants and dried well; metal surfaces must be additionally degreased. If there are cracks, chips or other defects on the floor, they are all filled with epoxy resin or solutions based on it. After leveling the surface, it is filleted and dedusted with a construction vacuum cleaner. At the end of all these procedures, the floor is primed with a special composition intended for self-leveling floors. A feature of such compositions is their deep penetration into the concrete slab, which in the future will ensure good adhesion of the base layer to the concrete base.

The base layer in the form of a polymer floor or screed can be applied to the base 4-5 hours after applying the primer. You can choose the color of the base layer yourself. Particular attention should be paid to this issue if you will make a self-leveling floor not with a pattern, but with decorative elements. The base layer color will be the background for placing these details. The process of creating the base layer itself is not difficult, the main thing is to monitor the absence of air bubbles in the thickness of the polymer composition.

Surface decoration

When the base layer is ready, you can start applying the decor. The simplest technology for creating a 3D floor is to place decorative elements on its surface. Anyone can cope with this work, but it is still better to place the details relative to each other, adhering to a certain design concept. Together, the elements should make up the big picture, and not just be scattered over the surface in a random order.

When using a finished printed pattern, the canvas with the image is laid on the base layer of the self-leveling floor. If you decide to use a real drawing to create a 3d floor, then the next stage of work is the artist who reproduces the image you have chosen on the surface of the floor.

The three-dimensional effect can also be obtained in another way: for this, it is necessary to make a stained glass painting on the floor, the contours of which are made with acrylic paste, and then filled with paints.

The technology of creating the top layer of a 3D floor requires special care and concentration. Before doing the work yourself, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the video, where each stage of the installation process of the self-leveling floor is explained by a specialist. When the pattern layer on the work surface dries, you can proceed to applying the finish coat. The coating is a mixture of a polymer base and a hardener, which are mixed with each other in a certain proportion. To obtain a mixture without lumps, you can use a construction mixer.

The prepared mixture is poured over the floor surface and leveled with a spatula. It is necessary to act quickly, as the solution thickens within half an hour and becomes unusable. After leveling the mixture on the floor surface, all visible air bubbles must be removed. To do this, you can use a needle roller or a metal brush. When creating a self-leveling 3D floor, try to remove all the bubbles that have formed, otherwise they can spoil the look of the finished coating.

Self-leveling floors after polymerization and final hardening of the finishing layer are protected with a special varnish. The manufacturing technology of three-dimensional floors includes a protective coating that protects the 3D floor from mechanical damage and exposure to chemicals. An additional coating is also necessary to give the surface anti-slip properties.
