But whichever option you choose, your glass table requires regular, thorough maintenance. Any fingerprints are perfectly visible on such a surface. Giving your preference to such material, it should be borne in mind that it is unlikely that you will be able to find a sliding or transforming table made of glass. Best of all, such an interior element will fit into modern styles: pop art, techno, fusion, hi-tech.

The undoubted competitor of glass is natural wood. This is exactly the material that was originally used to make furniture. Now natural wood is highly valued, and products made from it are real works of art. The undoubted advantage of wood is that it can be used to create not only a small coffee table, but also a solid full-fledged dining table. If you are interested in a sliding version or a transformer, then such models can also be made from natural wood at the factory. However, today's furniture manufacturers and designers outdo themselves. They managed to create several transforming sliding tables that can change shape: from round to square, from oval to rectangular, triangular, and so on.

The simplest transformers are sliding: just pull the table at opposite ends in different directions and insert the bar that comes with the kit into the resulting hole. There are also tables with folding blades, which are removed at different edges if necessary.

Dining table height

This parameter must also be taken into account if you want every meal in the kitchen to be as comfortable as possible. The standard height for a table is 75 cm. However, it is not suitable if you want to equip your kitchen with a bar counter (for example, instead of a window sill), which will also serve as a dining table. In this case, you need to focus on a comfortable height, given the height of the chairs on which you will sit. In addition, it is important to provide everyone sitting at the table with at least 60 cm of free space for complete comfort.
