Do-it-yourself modular sofa from poufs. Instructions for making your own frameless furniture. Models and use in the interior

Frameless furniture is armchairs and sofas, the design of which does not provide for the presence of solid parts, so it allows you to calmly, comfortably relax and unwind.

The bean bag chair is a popular, and therefore in great demand, upholstered frameless furniture, analogues of which have won many prizes and awards around the world at various furniture industry exhibitions.

Frameless furniture can be made by hand, for example, as a gift to relatives, relatives or friends. Being engaged in the creation of such furniture, you can invent and make various models of frameless chairs yourself. Sellers of frameless furniture overestimate the price on the market, which is associated with high competition in the process of selling this type of product. The fight is aimed at those manufacturers who have to think about how to make an ottoman chair cheaper.

The scheme is a pattern of frameless furniture.

Standard frameless chairs have a height dimension of 1 m and a base diameter of 70 cm, so they can be sold at a lower price than larger chairs. By setting up your own production of frameless furniture, you can get big income from this type of business. The scope of frameless furniture is very wide, from libraries to cinemas. Sewn furniture can be a whole furniture set for an adult or a child.

If there is no desire to give money for a frameless chair offered in the store, then you can make it yourself using patterns of more preferred sizes. It makes no sense to dream of acquiring a huge purchased bean bag chair or a frameless sofa at a very low cost.

In fact, bean bags of large overall dimensions can fit in them for the purpose of relaxing in a more comfortable way, which is why bean bags are called bean bags. Bean bags are perfect for children's play and sleep areas, and are a delightful and comfortable place for kids to entertain.

When making patterns and tailoring chairs, you should not save on sizes, because otherwise it is impossible to feel the charm and convenience of a frameless chair. Thanks to their streamlined shape, ottomans can turn into comfortable areas for people to relax.
You can create ottoman chairs for different people of any gender, age and status. The main thing is that the chair consists of two covers, that is, an upper and lower one, which can be removed and put on again after they have been cleaned or washed. The usual care for frameless ottoman chairs is associated with simplicity and versatility.

The ottoman chair needs a large zipper on the top cover, which will allow it to be removed for cleaning. Polystyrene granules are used as a filler for the lower cover. Since furniture filled with polystyrene shrinks, it will be necessary to additionally stock up on filler, which will need to make up for its deficiency.

Choice of material and shape

Top cover fabrics should be selected based on the physical characteristics of the material, including strength, moisture resistance, stain resistance, wear resistance. The fabric may sometimes have properties associated with water repellency, so its coating should not prevent all dirt from accumulating in the fibers of the fabric.

If the chosen material is not breathable and cannot release air, then having several holes for drainage will come in handy. For the production of chairs, fabrics are used that have different characteristics, that is, color, texture, shades. The fabric used in the manufacture must be of high quality. This is guaranteed by the modern technologies used for the production of fabrics, associated with the production of strong and wear-resistant materials.

When tailoring bean bags, the season should also be taken into account. The best choice for sewing the top cover are natural materials. It can be linen or cotton. When the armchair is used in autumn, the tailoring of velvet or corduroy furniture will be impeccable.

In winter, it is best to wear fur covers on chairs made of thick fabric for a bottom cover with filler. So you can change the upper covers on the chair every season, which will make the interior more comfortable. For the production of frameless furniture, you can use natural leather or leatherette, and denim is also suitable.

If desired, the fabrics taken are combined with each other in color and texture, and the chosen design of the ottoman chair should be combined with the style of the interior of the room. When making a frameless chair for the first time, you can use the pattern used in most cases, since it is universal. This will allow you to get a comfortable chair model with a lower and upper cover that has a handle for carrying the chair.

At the same time, different models of chairs differ in the size of the back and seat. If the chair does not have a backrest, then there will be no need to turn it specifically to the side where you need to sit down. Following all the curves of the body of a person resting on an armchair, it forms a headrest with armrests that allow you to comfortably sit in such furniture that provides a relaxing effect.

A frameless chair can be shaped like a pear or a ball, its shape is sometimes cubic or rounded. If you try, then it’s really possible to make a sofa-ottoman for the living room, where several guests will rest. Frameless furniture is light and ergonomic, and its weight does not exceed 3 kg. It is easy to carry for both adults and children. The weight of frameless furniture will depend not only on the dimensions, but also on the fabric used for the covers. For example, water-repellent fabric or heavy furniture will increase the weight of the furniture up to 7 kg.

Pattern preparation

To sew an ottoman, a strong fabric measuring 3.5x1.5 m is suitable. In order to be able to let the air out of the cover, a very strong material with a blown airy texture is selected, which will make the ottoman softer. The technology of sewing work is associated with convenience and can allow you to do it yourself without any problems. You must have on hand:

  • the cloth;
  • scissors;
  • threads;
  • ruler;
  • pattern;
  • needles;
  • chalk or pencil;
  • polystyrene filler;
  • compass;
  • sewing machine;
  • lightning.

The filler is sold by suppliers of thermal insulation materials to the construction industry market. Polystyrene filler has a white color, and furniture made from it is environmentally friendly and harmless to human health. When buying expanded polystyrene in granules, you need to keep in mind that small granules will make the bag heavier, and large ones cannot be evenly distributed inside the bottom cover. The required amount of the desired polystyrene filler is taken into account depending on the size of the cover. The basis for the manufacture of a bean bag chair is the principle of sewing a pillowcase worn on a pillow.

It is best to fill the bags with polystyrene granules, which should be handled with extreme care, as they are light and can scatter around when filling the lower seat covers with them. This material is water repellent. It is better to take balls of not very large and not quite small sizes, be sure to be interested in certificates for the compliance of the material with the required quality level.

In the manufacturing process, you will need not only fabric, but also special reinforced threads that have high reliability and strength. One of the best options is to choose a rubberized material that is most suitable for the cover that is worn on top. Such material will not allow water to penetrate inside the chair cover being cleaned. This type of fabric should be wiped from time to time with a damp cloth.

Patterns for chairs usually contain a standard set of elements, consisting of:

  • sidewalls - 4 pcs;
  • round parts - 2 pcs;
  • rectangular pieces for the handle.

To make and sew a handle to the bag, you will need to cut out a rectangular segment from the prepared material 2-3 cm longer than the length of the diameter, the size of the diameter of the circumference of the pattern. Thick paper is used to make a special template. They make two sets of identical patterns on two types of material, selected for the lower cover and the upper one. Be sure to take into account the allowances left on the seams, marking them with a pencil or chalk.

Upholstered furniture brings warmth and comfort to the house, but its purchase can be too expensive, in addition, it is not so easy to find exactly the model that will match in color and design. It is much cheaper to make furniture yourself, and you don’t need to make a frame for it at all, it’s enough to have sewing skills. Moreover, frameless furniture is at the peak of popularity today, because it takes up much less space, and it is more convenient and easier to transform and rearrange it. If you install such a sofa in the nursery, which has only soft pillows, then even children will be able to move it at their own discretion, since its weight will be insignificant.

Frameless furniture is a modern fashion trend, such finished furniture is quite expensive, so by making such furniture yourself you will save a lot.

Preparatory work

Figure 1. Sketch - diagram of a frameless chair.

The sofa will have folding chairs in the amount of 3 pieces. In order to make one of them, it will be necessary to use upholstery fabric like jacquard or flock, it should be 3 m long, while the width of the canvas should be limited to 150 cm. For filling, you will need foam rubber in the amount of 2 sheets, the size of each should be equal to 10x100x200 cm. For three chairs, 5 sheets will be needed. It is not recommended to replace two thin sheets with one, the thickness of which is 20 cm, this is due to the fact that a thick filler tends to quickly sag. However, if you notice that during operation the front part of the filler sagged, then you should turn the pillows in the other direction, it is also acceptable to use an alternative solution, which involves laying foam inserts into the inner space of the pillows.

For work, you should prepare zippers with a length of 80 cm and in the amount of 7 pcs. It is necessary to purchase such that they have a margin in length. You will also have to buy high-quality reinforced threads, as well as PVA glue. On fig. 1 you can see the diagram of one folding chair. The furniture includes folding chairs that can be quickly transformed into beds.

Each chair contains 4 blanks, each of them consists of 2 pieces of foam rubber. The cutting of foam rubber must be done in such a way that it is possible to obtain blanks in the amount of 2 pieces with the following dimensions:

  • 80x80 cm;
  • 60x80 cm;
  • 20x80 cm;
  • 30x80 cm.

PVA will allow you to fasten the sheets of each part, as a result, you should get 4 blanks, each of which is 20 cm thick.

cutting and sewing process

Figure 2. Scheme of dimensions and quantity of the first part of the sofa.

You can sew frameless furniture by marking the inside of the fabric and cutting out 2 blanks with dimensions of 80x80 cm, which will become the back and face of the pillow. The dimensions of the patterns are indicated without a margin, for this reason, 1.5-2 cm should be added on each side.

Next, you need to cut out 3 blanks, the size of each of which is 20x160 cm. It is preferable to make one strip double, this will allow you to get additional rigidity. To do this, a dense fabric with identical dimensions must be sewn to the workpiece from the inside.

On fig. 2 you can see the diagram of the first part. Two parts, which are indicated as 1.3, need to be folded in half and sew in 2 zippers directed towards each other. This will allow you to get a double blank with dimensions equal to 20x160 cm. Then the opposite sides, designated as "a" and "b", must be stitched together.

Now you can sew squares and stripes like a suitcase, i.e. the pillow should look like a box with zippers located in the middle of the end. From the inside, the edges of the seams should be overlocked. It is permissible to sheathe them with a piping, this will provide a more stable shape to the pillows.

On the reverse side of the pillow, 2 loops should be sewn, they will provide a more comfortable unfolding of furniture and its transportation. Do not place filler inside the pillowcases until the pieces are sewn together.

The manufacturing process of the remaining 3 elements should follow the same principle.

Manufacturing of components

Figure 3. Drawing of the second part of a frameless sofa.

On the surface of the back side of the fabric, workpieces with dimensions equal to 60x80 cm should be marked; do not forget to add a margin for allowances to the indicated parameters.

Next, you need to cut out a blank with dimensions equal to 20x120 cm. You need to sew a blank of dense fabric to its inside. Now you can prepare 2 strips, the dimensions of each should be equal to 20x160 cm. In fig. 3 you can see the diagram of the second part. The cover can be stitched according to the same principle as described above, and proceed to the manufacture of the third part. One blank should have dimensions equal to 60x86 cm, with the addition of 6 cm for zipper folds, so 3 cm should be added on each side. Next, you need to prepare 4 squares, the side of each of which should be equal to 20x20 cm. In fig. . 4 you can see the diagram of the third part.

It is necessary to sew 2 zippers into opposite edges of a large element, ensuring the smallest possible distance between them.

It is impossible to sew frameless furniture according to such a pattern by introducing one zipper into the details instead of two. This will not help to simplify the task, on the contrary, in the process of inserting the glued filler blank, problems will arise, consisting in the small size of the resulting hole.

Figure 4. Scheme with the dimensions of the third part of the sofa.

It will not work to sew frameless furniture according to the described technology without making the fourth part, for it it is necessary to prepare blanks with the following dimensions: 20x30 cm (2 pcs.), 20x80 cm (2 pcs.), 80x78 cm (1 pc.), The penultimate blank will make the bottom details. To make the fourth element, fold the strips of the bottom to sew a lock along the fold. The upper edges of the blanks (20x30 cm) must be rounded. Now you can stitch the details from the inside out. When inserting foam rubber that has an irregular shape, problems may arise. Correcting the situation will allow a sliding fabric like silk or satin, which should be sheathed with a filler, this will help to place it in a pillowcase without much effort.

In order to sew such frameless corner-type furniture, one more fourth part has to be made.

Four pillows must be connected, for this from the very beginning it is necessary to think about the question of how to connect the elements of the cover to each other. If the workpieces are supposed to be sewn inside out, then at the place where the parts are mated, it will be necessary to sew a double strip made of fabric on the inside. This can be done both for the width of the chair, and with an indent from both edges of 7 cm. The gap should be kept to a minimum, then the assembly / disassembly process will not weaken the pairing between the two elements.

Pattern of an adult and child seat - a bag.

If you want to pair using a simpler technology, then you should stitch a double-folded long workpiece over the connection, while the elements must be adjusted to each other so that they can fold.

Self-made furniture can also be assembled according to the principle of a full-fledged corner sofa.

You can connect the made chairs into a single sofa in completely different ways: in one line or at an angle. Furniture can be arranged in different rooms at all, turning the elements into separate chairs. Frameless furniture will not only be a more profitable solution for a children's room, but will also bring a piece of comfort and originality into it.

Assembly principle

The pear chair is sewn quickly and simply, as it consists of only a few parts.

The furniture, which has the shape of a bag, consists of 2 covers, one is external, the other is internal. The inner case is filled with small balls based on expanded polystyrene. This cover is tightly sewn, and the outer one has a zipper so that it can be easily removed and washed. Polystyrene, which acts as an internal filler, is harmless, waterproof and shows a long service life.

In order to make such furniture yourself, you should use a fairly dense fabric. Silk or calico cannot be used, as they are characterized by low wear resistance, and their appearance quickly loses its original gloss. For the manufacture of the outer cover, you can use, for example, velor. This fabric is velvety to the touch and a bit like faux fur. If there are children in the house, a flock that resembles velor will be the best option for them. Among the characteristics of this fabric are water-repellent properties, and it is quite easy to wash and clean it, the sun will not be afraid of such an armchair. Extremely durable and chenille, which contains both natural and synthetic fibers, they prevent the surface from rolling. When choosing a fabric, it is worth paying attention to jacquard. A frameless chair made of artificial leather or suede, as well as a tapestry, will look great.

In order to make a pear chair, you should prepare 3.5 m of satin, 3.5 m of thick fabric, a zipper (100 cm), a chain, filler, scissors, pins, needles, and threads.

On the fabric, you should depict a pattern that will have the desired size. It should contain 2 bottoms, one will be small, the other large. You need to connect these blanks with side wedges in the amount of 6 pcs. Blanks should be made in 2 sets, one of which should be made of dense fabric, the other - from thin (for the inner cover). When choosing a fabric for the inner cover, you should pay attention to those options, the edges of which will not crumble over time, this will ensure that the inner cover does not tear during operation and does not require replacement.

The first version of the chair pattern-pattern is pears.

Now you can start stitching the elements of the chair. Initially, you need to connect the wedges, leaving a small area free. After that, you need to sew the bottom to the wedges - small and large. The same manipulations have to be done with the inner cover. At the outer cover, the distance between the wedges must be left unsewn, a zipper will have to be sewn into it.

Such an armchair can be decorated, for which some part of the furniture can be covered with appliqué. For her to prepare a pattern. Using the material intended for the application, you need to prepare the details and sew on the outer cover. If this is an image of an animal, then its eyes and nose can be made from buttons or beads. An interesting application of a dog in a booth will turn out, for this you need to use a chain that will connect the dog to the booth.

The final step will be filling the bean bag chair.

The inner cover does not need to be filled with balls to capacity, this can cause the fabric to tear, and the filler will end up in the space of the outer cover, and if necessary, wash it, you will have to collect the filler by hand.

In order to avoid such problems, the cavity of the inner cover should be filled only 2/3 of the volume. After that, you can sew the wedges tightly. When carrying out these works, it is necessary to ensure the strength of the internal seams, since even an incompletely filled cover with poor-quality seams can be damaged under the pressure of the human body. On the inner cover you need to put on the outer one, after fastening the zipper.

The second version of the pattern of a frameless chair.

It is worth considering when making covers that the stuffing tends to settle after a while, this entails the need to add it. Backfilling procedures will have to be performed approximately once every 24 months. This is not so easy to do if you do not use a funnel. You can foresee such a need in advance by sewing a zipper into the inner case. If there is no suitable funnel among the kitchen utensils, you can make a temporary one using a sheet of thick paper or cardboard; a funnel made from a plastic bottle will do the job better.

The outer cover will soon need to be washed if the chair is placed in the nursery or on the terrace. In order for the inner cover not to stand idle while washing the outer cover, you can sew several outer covers, this will also allow you to update the interior.

A soft and comfortable sofa will help to make any living room cozy. If you have the desire and free time, you can make such furniture at home on your own. So, how to make a sofa with your own hands?

Start by choosing a design: a simple one with a frame, a frameless sofa-transformer or a roll-out sleeper. Following the instructions, even a novice master will cope with the work of making any kind of sofa at home.

Frameless sofa - fashionable and comfortable

Frameless upholstered furniture is very popular today. As the name suggests, it does not have a hard base made of metal or boards, therefore it is really soft and comfortable.

Frameless sofa - modular. This is an ergonomic model-transformer, consisting of soft pillows. If desired, it can be disassembled, moved, even use individual blocks as chairs.

There are different ideas on how to make a frameless sofa with your own hands. It is best to assemble such a transformer from 3-4 folding chairs.

Where to begin? Prepare all the necessary tools.

For work you will need:

  • sewing machine,
  • strong reinforced threads,
  • durable furniture fabric (cut 3x1.5 m),
  • 5 sheets of foam rubber (size 200x100x10 cm),
  • PVA glue,
  • lightning,
  • scissors,
  • ruler,
  • pattern.

Each of the 3 folding chairs will consist of 4 parts, for which you will need to cut 2 pieces of foam rubber:

  • 80x80 cm - 2 pcs.,
  • 80x60 cm - 2 pcs.,
  • 80x20 cm - 2 pcs.,
  • 80x30 cm - 2 pcs.

It is better to make blanks for one chair first. 2 sheets of foam rubber of the same size must be glued together, resulting in 4 blanks of 20 cm in thickness.

How to make the first part of the sofa

Following the example of the first part, make the other three, but taking into account some features.

How to make the second part of the sofa

Making the second part of the sofa in the living room has its own characteristics. The parts are connected to each other by stitching a strip of fabric.

Attaching rectangular patterns measuring 80x60 cm to the back of the fabric, cut out (do not forget to leave 2 cm each). Then attach a rectangular fragment of the 120x20 cm pattern and cut it again. Lastly, cut out fragments of 160x20 cm. Sew all the fragments, trim the edge with a piping to give strength and insert foam rubber inside.

How to make the third part of the sofa

To easily make the third part of the sofa, carefully study the drawings.

On the wrong side of the remaining piece of fabric, attach a pattern of a rectangular piece with parameters of 60x80 cm. When cutting, add 3 cm each - the margin is necessary for sewing on a zipper.

Cut out 4 more small parts 20x20 cm. Sew all the parts with two zippers, which should fall on the extreme sections of the large rectangle. Put the foam rubber into the resulting cover.

How to make the fourth part of the sofa

On the wrong side of the remaining piece of fabric, attach diagrams of the following details:

  • 30x20 cm - 2 parts,
  • 80x20 cm - 2 parts (the bottom of the future pillow),
  • 80x78 cm - 2 parts.

Seam allowances are 2 cm on all sides.

Connect 2 rectangles for the bottom of the pillow, sew a zipper on the fold. The edges of smaller parts (30x20 cm) can be rounded so that the transforming sofa has a rounded shape. Sew all the elements from the wrong side. To make the foam easier to fit inside, you can fit it with lining silk, satin or any other slippery fabric.

If you want to make a soft corner sofa-transformer, add another fifth pillow.

The final stage: we sew all the elements

A master class on making a modular sofa in a room ends with the assembly of all parts.

The step by step build process is as follows:

  1. Sew a double strip of fabric over the pillow joint. Fragments try to fit to each other with maximum accuracy. Pillows should fold very easily.
  2. When you connect the fragments, you will get a finished chair. Repeat with the rest of the elements.

At the end of the assembly, connect 4 chairs by folding them in a line or at an angle - as a result, you will get a comfortable sofa.

Since a transformer model was planned, if desired, you can disassemble it into separate chairs and move it to another room. Or collect not 4, but only 3 parts and end up with a smaller children's sofa-transformer and one chair.

How to make a sofa bed

A frameless sofa-transformer, consisting of pillow modules, is very convenient for the home. On it you can sit with your family in front of the TV, lie down alone and read a newspaper or arrange gatherings with guests. However, if there is a need to have a double bed in the house, it is better to immediately make a good pull-out sofa-book. Moreover, making a sleeping simple sofa with your own hands is not much more difficult. Where to start?

Prepare tools and materials:

  • boards 1900×200 mm (2 pcs.), 800×200 mm (2 pcs.), 800×50 mm (2 pcs.), 1000×50 mm (12 pcs.);
  • timber;
  • legs made of wood or metal;
  • foam rubber (or spring blocks);
  • dense upholstery fabric (if the sofa is for children, then the appropriate color);
  • transformation mechanism for a sofa-book;
  • material for sheathing the frame;
  • screwdriver,
  • jigsaw;
  • hacksaw for cutting metal;
  • roulette;
  • construction stapler.

Sofa book: a guide to making

How to make a sofa with your own hands? Follow the step by step instructions:

  1. Start with assembly laundry box using boards 1900×200, 800×200, 800×50 mm and bars 40×50×200 mm.
  2. To strengthen the structure, nail 2 slats. Can use the corners metal .
  3. Proceed to the assembly of the back and seat. Make 2 identical frames with dimensions of 1890 × 650 mm from a 40 × 60 mm beam and nail wooden lamellas to them (to support the sofa mattress).
  4. Make armrests. From a chipboard board 25 mm thick, 50 mm wide, about 1 m long, cut out the walls for the armrests. It should turn out 2 left and 2 right, as in the photo.
  5. The next step is to knock down a wooden frame for the armrests, and it should be 20 mm shorter in length. Drill 2 holes in the frame and insert 8 × 120 mm bolts into them, sew the second side.
  6. Assemble a roll-out sofa-transformer into a single structure, establishing a transformation mechanism. Pay attention to this fact: when unfolded, there should be a gap of 10 mm between the seat and the backrest. Back and seat designs can reinforce with wooden slats.
  7. Sheathe the frame with foam rubber. Ideas how to make a seat, there are different. If desired, instead of foam rubber, you can use spring blocks (only if the sofa is transformer is not for children ). First, nail interlining on the lamellas, then foam rubber 60 mm thick. Under mechanism can cut pieces 50×95 mm. Then the foam rubber will lie more evenly.
  8. To get a soft cushion on the edge of the sofa, glue another strip of foam rubber 20x200mm over the existing upholstery. On top of the seat, as well as on the back, lay a layer of foam rubber 40 mm thick and cover everything with pre-sewn covers.
  9. Master class ends sofa manufacturing home upholstered armrests and assembly of all parts in one design. On the armrest, make a roller out of foam rubber. At the beginning of the armrest, the width of the foam rubber should be 150 mm, towards the end it will decrease to 50 mm.

Next, turn the part with bolts in your direction. Glue foam rubber 20 mm thick at a height of 320 mm from the lower edge of the armrest. Wait until it sticks, and then wrap it with the back, fix it with a stapler, cut off the excess.

Carefully tuck the protruding edges on the front part, cover the armrest with a cloth. To fix the fabric, you can use nails or a stapler. How to hide staples or stud caps, there are different ideas: the easiest way is to glue a decorative cord along the staple line.

Roll-out homemade sofa-transformer is ready. As you can see, with the necessary tools, materials and drawings, even a novice master will cope with the work.

Interior items without a rigid frame are now popular. Do-it-yourself frameless furniture is easy to do. It is an excellent alternative to armchairs and sofas, and often to a sleeping place, it attracts with its mobility, lightness, variety of colors, shapes and original appearance.

Bulk bags are made in the form of sofas and armchairs. The most common is called "" and looks like this fruit. used in any room. Disadvantages of frameless furniture

Like any piece of furniture, bulk bags have their drawbacks, but they are minor:

  1. Armchairs do not have legs, constantly rub against the floor covering, the cover becomes unusable after a couple of years or requires washing (but it is easy to replace).
  2. No linen box.
  3. Uncomfortable for the elderly, because they have a low landing.
  4. Adult or children's frameless furniture is suitable for every style of interior, for example, in the classics it is inappropriate.

Frameless furniture - materials

Products consist of internal and external durable covers and filler in the form of foam rubber or foam balls. Due to the absence of a frame, they become soft and easily change shape. Armchairs and sofas are equated with orthopedic ones, as they contribute to the comfort of the human body and repeat its curves. Types of frameless furniture:

  • bean bags, their shape is similar to typical products without armrests;
  • pear chair, stands out for its elongated design and has no corners;
  • , takes up little space;
  • puffs, have a cylindrical or square shape;
  • balls, in outline resemble a ball;
  • pyramid, has a clear shape, perfectly supports the back and head;
  • sofas, combine several modular chairs;
  • heart, decorative gift option;
  • toy models in the form of a blossoming flower or animals.

Fabric for frameless furniture

The bean bag is a textile model, 2/3 of which is occupied by foam balls. The inner cover is filled with filler and takes on the bulk of the load. It is recommended to use mixed natural fabric or polyester material for it. It is durable, lightweight, water-repellent and soft, has an elastic structure.

For the outer cover, which plays an important decorative and practical role, non-stretching durable fabrics are suitable. It is better to give preference to a lint-free material that will not collect wool and dust on itself. For exterior decoration, materials such as:

  • flock, soft and pleasant to the touch, does not get wet, easy to wash;
  • durable cotton with a high content of bamboo fibers;
  • jacquard;
  • oxford, soft and dense material, water-resistant, used for making tents, suitable for outdoor use (near water, on sand and grass), does not get wet and dries quickly;
  • suede artificial or natural;
  • leather or its substitute, attract water resistance.

If a person sits down in a chair, the grains under pressure easily move and take shape that coincides with the curves of the body.
