Schematic diagram of the integrated panther security system. Overview and connection of "Panthers SLK. Bilateral car alarm models

As practice shows, in the modern world it is impossible to be exactly sure of the safety of your vehicle. The products of the Russian company Saturn High-Tech, whose trademarks are car alarms such as Alligator, Panther and others, are considered one of the best on the market. And although Panther devices appeared a little later than the Alligator, due to their efficiency and product quality, they have earned considerable popularity among car owners, and their history has been going on for more than 15 years. These systems are designed using modern anti-theft mechanisms and include unique features such as protection against false alarms, arming in case of malfunctions, and so on.

What the car owner should know before starting work on installing an alarm

As a rule, the Pantera alarm connection diagram is included with the device. Some car owners are anxious about it, however, in fact, everything is quite simple. If you want to install this device on your vehicle with high quality and reliability, be extremely careful and do everything according to the requirements.

If you are installing a Pantera car alarm on a manual transmission vehicle and the model you have chosen is a remote start device, you must install a magnetic switch. Otherwise, you may well have problems with the remote alarm start option.

You need to know what kind of interlocks are used in your car and what color wire you need to connect to interact with car alarm options. You also need to know how to wire the relay for the vehicle door lock option.

Panther alarm installation, step-by-step progress

The siren must be installed in the engine compartment in an inaccessible place. Make sure it is located away from moving or combustible parts of the motor.

Mount the switch contacts in the hood and trunk. It is necessary to choose a grounded place in which water cannot affect their performance. Switches must be installed in such a way that they do not interfere with opening or closing the hood.

The LED should be installed on the instrument panel or in the line of sight to provide a deterrent. The light must be perfectly visible from the outside of the vehicle and from the driver's seat. The antenna must be installed under the instrument panel line belt for better reception.

Mount the control switch and manual switch in an accessible place. This place can be the glove compartment or the lower section of the panel.

Mount the relay in the place where the ignition switch solenoid wire starts. It must be secured with a cable around the relay wires.

Test the performance of all functions using the supplied instructions.

Keychain Panther, if the keychain is broken or lost, how to connect a new keychain to the alarm, step by step instructions

If any part of the system is broken, you can hold an event such as flashing a Pantera car alarm. In other words, it is necessary to replace the broken element with a new one by connecting it to the system. You can do it yourself.

If you have broken or lost the key fob, buy a new one and connect it to the car alarm, for which open the old key fob and see what type is included with the device. There are two types of keychains:

  1. The signal transmission frequency is 308 MHz.
  2. The signal transmission frequency is 434 MHz.

You can open the key fob with a screwdriver, inside of which you will find a crystal oscillator. On it you will see the number of the signal transmission frequency.

When the necessary kit is purchased, proceed to the firmware of the car alarm. Under the steering wheel of the vehicle, you will see the clutch pedal, the hood opening lever and the safety unit placed there.

To install a new key fob, you need to find the switch, which is located in the front section of the safety block. Put it in the "Install" position. Next, press any button on one key fob, then on the second. Then change the position of the switch to the "Off" position. The Panther alarm firmware will enable the new key fob to connect to the system.

The Pantera car alarm is presented on the market in a mass of different types that can satisfy the security requirements of even the most capricious car owners. Some of them are quite simple devices that can only emit an alarm sound during unauthorized opening of the trunk or doors.

More complex options are characterized by a unique warning signal that is easy to identify in case of danger. Through several sensors that are connected to the central computer, the car alarm is triggered by stimuli, such as the sound of breaking glass or suspicious activity that occurs in the immediate vicinity.

Buying a new vehicle is a big investment, so it makes sense to think about its safety. The mass of options for Panther car alarm models provides great opportunities both for your budget and for personal preferences.

Among the variety of different burglar alarms that exist today, the Panther system is especially popular. This is largely due not only to the high reliability of this system, but also, to a large extent, the ease of installation on various car models, as well as the availability of detailed recommendations explaining how to connect the panther alarm.

But for the siren, the best place is precisely in the engine compartment - in a place well protected from third-party access. The main thing is that it should not be close to moving and very hot engine elements. To prevent the accumulation of moisture in this unit, its socket should be directed downwards. Mount the siren with a bracket and a few screws.

The set of the Panther system necessarily includes a limit switch, with the help of which the protection of the car hood is ensured. This switch should be installed on a metal surface connected to the common ground where moisture does not accumulate, for example, on the side surface of the wings in the area of the hood (trunk). When properly installed, the limit switch should have at least 6 mm of travel when closing the hood (and also the trunk, if a second, similar switch is installed).

A red LED signaling the state of the security system is placed on the dashboard in a place that is clearly visible from the outside of the car and, at the same time, the indicator should not distract the driver. Before you start drilling a hole for it, you must first make sure that there are no wires and other elements on the reverse side.

Determination of a place for the Valet switch requires special imagination, since, on the one hand, it should be easily accessible, and on the other hand, an attacker should not quickly find it and turn off the alarm.

For the shock sensor, the most convenient place is a hard surface between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment (from the passenger compartment). Sometimes it is attached with constrictions under the dashboard or on the steering column. In any case, the sensor must have good access to make adjustments.

The standard panther car alarm connection scheme provides for the following distribution (in accordance with color marking) and connection of the main wires:

  • The white wire, which ensures the side lights flash when the system is triggered, as well as at the time of arming and disarming, is connected to the side lights circuit (if the circuit is of negative polarity, then through an additional relay);
  • The red wire, designed to power the system through a + 12V fuse, is connected to the positive terminal of the battery ";
  • White / red wire + 12V power supply of the central unit - through a fuse it is connected to the red wire;
  • White / black siren output wire - through a rubber bushing, it is laid to the siren installation site;
  • The dark blue wire used to remotely open the trunk is connected to terminal 85 of the additional relay. Please note that connecting this wire directly to the lock circuits is strictly prohibited;
  • Green / white wire that controls the interior lighting when the "Panic" mode is triggered, as well as at the time of disarming - the wire is connected to terminal 86 of the additional relay ";
  • Black wire "weight" - connects to the negative terminal of the battery;
  • The dark / green wire (-) of the hood (trunk) trigger, when shorted to ground, the system is instantly triggered, is extended to the hood (trunk) limit switches;
  • Purple wire (+) of the door trigger - regardless of the number of doors, it is connected to only one limit switch;
  • Purple wire (-) of the door trigger - as in the previous case, goes to the door switch;
  • The yellow wire for monitoring the presence of power at the ignition switch is connected to the wire of the ignition switch, on which, when the key is turned, + 12V appears;
  • Orange Starter Interlock Wire - Connects to terminal #86 of the auxiliary relay. At the same time, terminal # 85 is connected to the wire of the ignition switch, on which, at the time of starting the engine, a constant voltage of + 12V is created.

When installing the antenna wire, it is pulled out to its full length and installed in a place where it is difficult to damage it during the operation of the car.

Instruction

Prepare for the anti-theft alarm transmitter programming procedure. To do this, disarm the alarm and get into the car.

Check if the system shutdown function is enabled using the secret Valet button. If the function does not work, then you need to enter the alarm system menu. However, it will not be easy to get into the settings, since they are protected from unauthorized persons, which is very reasonable, since otherwise any attacker could easily change the parameters of the security perimeter and gain access to the vehicle.

Enter your personal code to access the alarm programming menu. If the code has never been entered before, use the preset factory number, which can only be entered once. The owner of the car is supposed to take care of setting his own security code as soon as possible.

Start the car, turn off the ignition, and then start the engine again. After that, within 15 seconds, press the Valet button a certain number of times, equal to the first digit of the security code. If you do not meet the allotted time, repeat the entire procedure, starting with the ignition.

If the individual code consists of two or more digits, press Valet to enter the remaining digits as well, adhering to a strict time schedule.

After the last digit of the code has been entered and the ignition is turned off for 10-15 seconds, press the secret button three times. Note that after this, the alarm siren must sound, and the LED must begin to flash rapidly.

Press and hold the transmitter button. Another siren signal should notify the owner of the Pantera alarm that the transmitter has been programmed successfully. Then you can start programming another key fob, again focusing on a 15-second time interval.

To exit the programming mode of the security system, simply start the car engine or do not press the service function control buttons. The alarm will give one short and one long signal, notifying the owner of the car about changes in the operation of the system, after which it will automatically switch to the security mode.

The Starline alarm system is equipped with two-way communication, as well as an expanded range of service and security functions. It comes with a handy keychain with LCD display.

Instruction

Connect alarm to the car, then use the key fob to program it. Turn off the car ignition, then press the Valet service key on the key fob six times. Then turn on the ignition, six siren signals will sound, which are an indicator of entering the alarm programming mode.

For example, if you want to set the duration of pulses applied to the central lock for unlocking and locking, press the button once and set the desired value using buttons 1 - 3 (see table). To set the status of a programmable function, press one of the remote control buttons within ten seconds after selecting the function.

Set the activation delay for the door, trunk and hood sensors, to do this, press the service button three times and select the duration using the buttons (1 -

ARMING WITH A RADIO KEY FOB

  1. Press and release transmitter button 1 (left button).
    • The red LED indicator (LED) of the system will flash slowly.
    • The engine will be blocked.
    • Note: If the siren sounds 3 additional chirps and the turn signals flash 3 more times after arming, the hood, trunk, or doors are not closed, or one of these circuits is faulty. The LED will then flash 2 or 3 times with a pause for 30 seconds, indicating a faulty and bypassed circuit. 3 seconds after this circuit will work normally again, the system will automatically turn it on in the protection circuit.

      Note: If feature #10 ("Siren Warning Signals with Door Open") is disabled, which is required when the system is installed on certain vehicle models, the system will only emit standard confirmation tones (1 siren and 1 flash of direction indicators) when armed, even if at the moment of arming, one of the car doors is open. However, if the car door was open at the time of arming and remained open, then 3 seconds after the bypassed circuit ceases to be active, the system will automatically re-arm it.

SILENT ARMING

  1. Press and release transmitter button 2 (right button).
    • The engine will be blocked.
    • The siren will not sound.

      Note: If the siren beeps 3 times and the turn signals flash 3 more times after arming, the hood, trunk or doors are not closed or one of these circuits is faulty. The LED will then flash 2 or 3 times with a pause for 30 seconds, indicating a faulty and bypassed circuit. 3 seconds after this circuit will work normally again, the system will automatically turn it on in the protection circuit.

    • If the appropriate connections and programming have been made during installation, the system will automatically close the car windows as well.

ARMING WITH SHOCK DISABLED

  1. Switch off the ignition, exit the vehicle and close all doors, hood and trunk.
  2. Press and release transmitter button 1 to arm the system (or button 2 for silent arming).
    • The system's red LED will flash slowly.
    • The engine will be blocked.
    • The direction indicators will flash 1 time.
    • The siren will sound 1 chirp (when arming silently or if feature #6 is disabled, this siren will not chirp)
    • The doors will lock (if electric locks are installed).
  3. Within 5 seconds, press and release button 2. The shock sensor will be disabled until the next arming of the system.
    • The direction indicators will flash 1 more time.

AUTOMATIC (PASSIVE) ARMING

Attention! This feature is programmable and can be disabled at the request of the owner. You can also program the system so that when it is automatically armed, the system will also lock the vehicle doors.

  1. Switch off the ignition, exit the vehicle and close all doors, hood and trunk.
    • As soon as the last door is closed, the red LED will flash rapidly to indicate that the 30 second countdown has begun before auto-arming.
  2. Opening any door, hood or trunk during the 30 second pre-arming countdown will immediately stop the countdown and the LED will turn off. As soon as all doors, hood and trunk are closed again, the 30 second countdown will start again and the LED will flash rapidly again. At the end of the 30 second countdown, the following will happen:
    • The red system LED will flash slowly.
    • The engine will be blocked.
    • The direction indicators will flash once.
    • The doors will lock (if power locks are installed and programmable feature #2 is enabled)

Note: If, after the confirmation signals of arming, the siren gives 3 more signals and the direction indicators flash 3 times, this means that the input of the shock sensor is active or faulty.

IMMOBILIZER MODE

In the event that you do not want to use the automatic arming function after turning off the ignition and closing all doors, you can use the programmable immobilizer mode (feature # 7). In this case, 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off, the system will only automatically turn on the engine block, and will not be further triggered by opening the doors, hood or trunk, or from the shock sensor.

You can also use this programmable function in addition to the automatic arming function, but in this case, the immobilizer mode will be activated only when the automatic arming function cannot be started for one reason or another (for example, if one of the doors is left open).

  1. Turn off the ignition and get out of the car.
  2. 30 seconds after turning off the ignition:
    • The system's red LED will start flashing 2 times slower than in normal armed mode.
    • The engine lock will turn on.
  3. If the ignition was turned on when the immobilizer mode was on:
    • The siren will sound warning signals for 10 seconds (during this time you can disarm the system using the transmitter without triggering the system by pressing button 1 on the transmitter) and then, if the system has not yet been disarmed during this time, the alarm mode will turn on - the direction indicators and interior lighting will flash (if this option is enabled), the siren will sound constantly and the pager output will turn on (if the appropriate connections and programming were made during installation).
    • If the ignition is turned off before 10 seconds have elapsed, the warning signals will turn off and the system will remain in immobilizer mode (engine will remain blocked).
    • If the ignition is turned off again after the alarm is turned on, the alarm mode will turn off after a 30-second cycle, and the system will again switch to the immobilizer mode (the engine will remain blocked).
    • If the ignition remains on, the alarm will continue as long as the ignition remains on, but no more than 3 minutes. Then the alarm will turn off, but the engine will remain blocked.
  4. For blackouts immobilizer mode:
    • Press button 1 on the transmitter to arm the system (the siren will beep once, the direction indicators will flash once, etc.).
    • Press button 1 of the transmitter again to disarm the system (the siren will sound 2 times, the direction indicators will flash 2 times, etc.)
    • In the event that the transmitter is lost or not functioning, you can also disable the immobilizer mode using the Valet pushbutton switch.

CAR PROTECTION WHEN ARMED

  • When the outer zone of the shock sensor is triggered (caused by a slight push or hit on the glass or car body), the warning mode will turn on and the siren will give 3 short beeps.
  • Any strong impact or impact on the glass or body of the vehicle will immediately trigger a full 30 second alarm cycle.
  • Opening any door, hood or trunk will immediately sound the siren. The siren will sound for 30 seconds, then turn off and the system will re-arm. If the hijacker left the door, hood or trunk open, the siren will sound for 6 cycles of 30 seconds (if you do not disable the alarm mode using the transmitter earlier) and then arm, bypassing only the circuit that caused the alarm.
  • When the system is activated, the direction indicators will flash for 30 seconds to draw visual attention to the vehicle.
  • If this function is enabled, when the alarm is triggered, the interior lighting will flash during the entire 30-second alarm mode cycle.
  • If the appropriate connections and programming have been made during installation, when the system is triggered, the output to an additional pager will automatically turn on.
  • When armed, the starter interlock and an additional engine blocking circuit (if an additional relay is installed) are enabled, preventing unauthorized starting of the engine.
  • The red LED flashes slowly when armed. This is a visual warning to a potential hijacker. The current consumed by the LED indicator is very small and practically does not drain the battery even over a long period of time. After the system is triggered, the LED will flash in series of flashes after a pause, indicating the zone that triggered.

DYNAMIC ALARM OFF

  1. If the system has been triggered and the alarm mode is activated (siren sounds, direction indicators and interior lighting flash (if this option is enabled), pressing and releasing button 1 of the transmitter once will only turn off the alarm mode (the siren will turn off, etc.). this will remain in guard mode:
    • The siren will give 1 signal.
    • The car doors will be re-locked (if electric locks are installed).

    Note: If at the moment the alarm mode is turned off any of the security zones remains active (the door, hood or trunk is open), then 3 seconds after the alarm mode is turned off, the siren will give 3 more signals, the direction indicators will flash 3 times and the LED will flash 2 or 3 times after a pause for 30 seconds, showing the bypassed guard circuit.

  2. To disarm the system, press and release transmitter button 1 again.
    • The siren will give 4 beeps.
    • The direction indicators will flash 4 times.

DISARMING THE SYSTEM

  1. Press and release transmitter button 1 while approaching the vehicle.
    • The red system LED will turn off.

    Note: If Programmable Feature #5 is enabled, the LED will flash rapidly to indicate the start of the 30 second countdown before auto-rearming (see below).

    • The siren will sound 2 times (if feature #6 is enabled).

    Note:

      • pressing the transmitter button 1 for the first time will unlock only the driver's door, pressing the transmitter button 1 again within 3 seconds will unlock all doors

SILENT DISARMING

  1. Press and release transmitter button 2 while approaching the vehicle.
    • The red system LED will turn off.

    Note: If programmable feature #5 is enabled, the LED will flash rapidly to indicate the start of the 30 second countdown before auto-rearming (see below)

    • The direction indicators will flash 2 times.
    • The siren will not sound.

    Note: If the siren beeps 4 or 5 times and the direction indicators flash 4 times when the system is disarmed, it means that the system was armed in your absence. Before turning on the ignition, determine the zone or trigger that caused the system to operate by the blinking LED (see the Intrusion Warning Signals section below).

    • The doors will be unlocked (if electric locks are installed).
    • If additional relays are installed and the corresponding connections are made:
      • The "polite lighting" of the passenger compartment will turn on for 30 seconds (or until the ignition is turned on).
      • pressing the transmitter button 1 for the first time will unlock only the driver's door, pressing the transmitter button 1 again within 3 seconds will unlock all doors.

AUTO REARMING

  1. If the automatic re-arming function (feature # 5) is enabled, after disarming the system using the transmitter:
    • The system LED will flash rapidly to indicate the start of the 30 second countdown before auto-rearming.
    • Opening any of the doors, hood or trunk will cancel the countdown. However, if the programmable passive arming feature is enabled, then after all doors are closed again, a 30-second countdown will begin before passive arming.
  2. If the door, hood or trunk of the car was not opened, then 30 seconds after disarming the system, the system will re-arm and:
    • The system LED will flash slowly.
    • The engine will be blocked.
    • The direction indicators will flash once.
    • The siren will sound 1 beep (if feature #6 is enabled).
    • The doors will lock (if electric locks are installed).

INTRUSION WARNING SIGNALS

The system will inform you if there were attempts to break into the car during your absence. If the system worked, then when disarming, the siren will give 4 beeps and the direction indicators will flash 4 times. The LED will then flash a certain number of times with a pause until the ignition is turned on, indicating the zone or trigger that caused the system to last operate. Sit in the vehicle and count the number of LED flashes.

Note: If the main zone of one of the system's sensors or the hood/trunk trigger caused 3 system activations and this zone was disabled by the system's protection against false alarms, then when the system is disarmed, the siren will sound 5 signals and the direction indicators will flash 4 times.

  • If the LED flashes 2 times after a pause, then the operation was caused by an attempt to open the car door or an attempt to turn on the ignition.
  • If the LED flashes 3 times after a pause, etc., then the operation was caused by a shock sensor or an additional sensor connected to this system connector.
  • If the LED flashes 4 times after a pause, etc., then the operation was caused by an attempt to open the hood or trunk.

Note: The activation of the warning zone of the shock sensor is not indicated by the LED.

Information about the zone that triggered the operation is stored in the system memory and is erased at the moment the ignition is turned on or when the system is armed using a transmitter.

TEMPORARY DISABLED AUTO-ARMING FUNCTION

If the auto-arming function is enabled, but you want to disable it temporarily (when refueling the vehicle, at a service station, etc.), use the following procedure:

  1. Turn off the ignition, but do not open the car door.
  2. Within 5 seconds after turning off the ignition, press and hold button 1 and button 2 of the transmitter simultaneously for 1 second.
    • The siren will sound 1 chirp to confirm that the auto-arming function has been disabled until the next time the ignition is turned on or until the system is armed using the transmitter.

Note: this procedure can also be used to temporarily disable the immobilizer mode.

AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKING WHEN IGNITION ON / AUTOMATIC DOOR UNLOCKING WHEN IGNITION OFF

If electric locks are installed and programmable functions #3 and #4 of the system are enabled:

  • The system will automatically lock the car doors 3 seconds after the ignition is turned on, if at that moment all the car doors are closed;
  • The system will automatically unlock the car doors immediately after the ignition is turned off, if all the car doors are closed at that moment.

DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK CONTROL WHILE THE VEHICLE IS DRIVING

If electric locks are installed - with the ignition on, pressing any button on the transmitter will sequentially lock and unlock the car doors.

VALET MODE

  1. The Valet pushbutton switch will allow you to turn on the "Valet" service mode (i.e., temporarily disable all security functions of the system), if, for example, you need to leave the car at a service station. At the same time, the possibility of remote control of the "Panic" mode and door locks remains.

    For inclusion service mode Valet:

    1. Get into the car and turn on the ignition (the system must be disarmed).
      • The system LED will turn solid, indicating that the system is in Valet mode.

    Note: When the system is in Valet mode, each time the ignition is turned off, the siren will give 2 short warning beeps.

    For shutdown service mode Valet:

    1. Turn on the ignition.
    2. Press and hold the Valet button switch for 2 seconds.
      • The system LED will turn off, indicating that Valet mode is disabled.

    Note: Don't forget to turn off Valet mode when you no longer need it. This guarantees the constant protection of the car.

  2. Valet switch can also be used to disable the security mode if you have lost the transmitter or if it is defective. In this case:
    1. Open the door with the key. The system will work, the siren will turn on, the direction indicators and interior lighting will flash (if this option is enabled).
    2. Turn on the ignition.
    3. Within 15 seconds, press and release the Valet push button switch.
      • The system LED will turn off.
      • The alarm will turn off, the system will disarm and the engine will be unlocked.

    Attention! Please note that the system will not be in Valet mode. This means that if the passive arming feature is enabled, the next time the ignition is turned off and all doors, hood and trunk of the vehicle are closed, a 30 second countdown will begin before passive arming.

PERSONAL SYSTEM DISCONNECT CODE

If programmable feature #9 is programmed accordingly, disarming without the aid of a transmitter, as well as disabling the Anti-HiJack mode, will only be possible using your programmed personal code. To program your personal system shutdown code, refer to the "Programmable System Features" section in the Installation Instructions. To disable the system using a personal code:

  1. Open the car door with the key.
    • The system will immediately work, the siren will turn on, the direction indicators will start flashing.
  2. Turn on the ignition.
  3. Within 15 seconds, press and release the Valet pushbutton a number of times equal to your personal code (from 2 to 9), then pause.
    • If the correct code was entered, then after a few seconds the alarm mode (siren and direction indicators) will turn off.
    • The system LED will turn off.
    • The engine will be unlocked.

Note: If the armed mode does not disarm after entering your personal code, the 15-second time interval may have been exceeded or an incorrect code has been entered. In this case, switch off the ignition and enter your personal system deactivation code again.

Attention!

REMOTE PANIC MODE

Remote mode "Panic" is activated by pressing button 1 and button 2 of the transmitter with the ignition off, when the system is armed or disarmed:

  1. At off ignition press and release button 1 and button 2 of the transmitter at the same time. The system siren will sound immediately.
  2. To turn off the panic mode, press and release button 1 and button 2 of the transmitter at the same time. The siren will stop working and the system will return to the state in which it was before the activation of the "Panic" mode.

Remote Panic can also be enabled while the system is in Valet mode. In this case, after the end of the "Panic" mode, the system will again switch to the "Valet" mode.

REMOTE ANTI-HIJACK

This system allows you to turn on the Anti-HiJack (anti-robbery function) using the transmitter.

Remote activation of the Anti-HiJack mode using the transmitter is performed by simultaneously pressing and holding button 1 and button 2 of the system transmitter for 3 seconds with the ignition on. After that, the Anti-HiJack mode will work as follows:

Stage 1: 40*** seconds after turning on the Anti-HiJack function, the siren will sound short warning signals for 5 seconds.

Note ***: Note that the Anti-HiJack timer counts down to stage 2 only when the ignition is on. If at any time before the start of stage 2 the ignition was turned off, the timing of the corresponding stage will pause (the system can even be armed), but will immediately resume as soon as the ignition is turned back on.

Stage 2: 45 seconds after turning on the Anti-HiJack function, the siren will sound, and the direction indicators and interior lighting of the car will flash (if this option is enabled). If the vehicle's ignition is turned off during this time, the system will immediately engage the starter lock.

Stage 3: 30 seconds after the siren is turned on (i.e. 75 seconds after the activation of the Anti-HiJack function), the starter lock will turn on. Siren and direction indicators will continue to work regardless of the position of the ignition key for 3 minutes.

If after these 3 minutes the ignition is turned off, the alarm will be canceled, but the engine will remain blocked. Any subsequent activation of the ignition will restart the 3 minute alarm cycle.

Thus, this algorithm allows you to enable the Anti-HiJack mode in advance, for example, immediately before parking the car. After that, you can turn off the ignition and arm the system. In this case, if you are attacked and your car keys and key fob transmitter of the system are taken from you, the Anti-HiJack mode timer will start immediately after the system is disarmed and the ignition is turned on. It will no longer be possible to disable this mode using the remote transmitter of the system.

Disabling Anti-HiJack Mode:

Once the Anti-HiJack mode has been enabled, it can no longer be disabled with the transmitter, although you can still arm the system with the transmitter when the ignition is off. The method for disabling Anti-HiJack enabled with the transmitter depends on the status of Programmable Feature #9.

  1. Disabling the Anti-HiJack function before the start of stage 2 (i.e. until the siren and turn indicators turn on) is done at any time by pressing the Valet pushbutton switch once (if function # 9 is enabled) or by entering a personal code (if function # 9 is disabled) when ignition on.
  2. To disable the Anti-HiJack mode from the moment the siren and direction indicators are turned on, you will need to turn off and turn on the ignition, and within 15 seconds press and release the Valet button switch (if function # 9 is enabled) or enter your personal code (if function # 9 off).

Attention! If the wrong code was entered 3 times in a row, the system will stop responding to further attempts to enter the code for a while to exclude the possibility of selecting the system shutdown code.

Attention! By turning on the Anti-HiJack anti-theft function, you assume responsibility for the possible consequences caused by the possible violent shutdown of the car engine while driving, especially in the case of using engine locks other than those recommended.

FALSE ALARM PROTECTION FUNCTION

In order to avoid, as far as possible, possible frequent false alarms of the system caused by a faulty limit switch, thunder, etc. This system uses an advanced anti-false alarm function that works as follows.

  • If the system is triggered 3 times within 60 minutes by a system shock sensor or a hood/trunk trigger (which are the most common cause of false alarms), that sensor or trigger (or also any additional sensors only connected to the same security zone) will be disabled for 60 minutes, or until it is triggered by any other trigger or sensor (connected to another zone), or until the system is disarmed using a transmitter. This will prevent possible subsequent false positives of the system.

Attention! The operation of this function does not apply to door limit switch triggers and, therefore, the number of activations of this protection zone cannot be limited.

  • If the system shock sensor or hood/trunk trigger caused 3 or more activations of the system and was temporarily disabled by the anti-false alarm function, when the system is disarmed, the siren will sound 5 warning signals and the direction indicators will turn on 4 times.

Note: This feature is programmable and can be disabled at the request of the system owner. In this case, the number of possible system activations from any security zone will not be limited.

REMOTE CONTROL OF AUXILIARY DEVICES (ADDITIONAL CHANNEL OUTPUT)

  1. This system has an additional radio-controlled channel that allows you to control various additional devices, first of all, the electric trunk lid lock (an additional relay is required).

    To operate the electric trunk lid lock, press button 2 (right button) on the transmitter for at least 3 seconds with the ignition off.

    Note: If the auxiliary channel output was turned on while the system is armed, the system will simultaneously disable the shock sensor and the hood / trunk trigger for a while so that opening the trunk does not trigger the system. 3 seconds after the trunk is closed, the system will automatically arm this circuit again.

  2. In addition to the remote trunk lid release function described above, the system's auxiliary channel output can also be used to:
    • Remote turn on car headlights
    • Remote closing of windows and / or sunroof of the car
    • Control of the additional module of remote start of the engine
    • Controls optional garage door opener interface

    To do this, the system's auxiliary channel output type can be programmed at installation as:

    • "pulse" signal, i.e. activated for 1 second or for as long as the button 2 of the transmitter is held down, but not more than 25 seconds;
    • "permanent" signal, i.e. activated by pressing the button 2 of the transmitter for 3 seconds and working until the next press and holding the button 2 of the transmitter for 3 seconds.

If you are using any auxiliary device connected to the system's auxiliary output, contact your installer for assistance with remote control of that device.

SAVING THE SYSTEM STATE WHEN THE POWER IS OFF

The system will return to the same state (armed, disarmed, Valet mode, Anti-HiJack mode) in which it was before the power was turned off. In the event that the power was turned off while the system was armed, after connecting the power or when trying to start the engine, the alarm mode will immediately turn on.

PROGRAMMING OPTIONAL TRANSMITTERS

TRANSMITTER BUTTON FUNCTIONS

The transmitters included with the system are programmed at the factory as follows:

PROGRAMMING TRANSMITTERS

Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed into the system memory. When trying to program the 5th transmitter, the code of the first transmitter will be "wiped out" from the system's memory, when trying to program the 6th transmitter, the code of the second transmitter will be "wiped" out of the system's memory, etc.

Attention! Remember that each operation must be completed within 15 seconds of the previous operation. If the 15 second interval is exceeded, the system will automatically exit programming mode, which will be confirmed by one short and one long siren beep. If during programming turned off ignition, the system will also exit programming mode immediately and you will hear one short and one long siren beep.

  1. Disarm the system, get into the car and turn on the ignition.
  2. Press the Valet button 3 times. You will hear 1 siren tone after a pause, after which the LED will begin to flash, confirming that the system is ready to program a new transmitter.
  3. Press and hold any transmitter button until you hear a long siren tone confirming that the new transmitter has been programmed. The LED will then stop flashing and remain lit.
  4. To exit programming mode:
    • turn off the ignition or
    • press the Valet button again, or
    • wait 15 seconds without doing anything.

You will hear one short and one long chirp to confirm that the system has exited programming mode.

SYNCHRONIZATION OF TRANSMITTERS

Since the system transmitters use a constantly changing (dynamic) code, in certain, albeit rather rare situations (for example, when pressing the key fob buttons more than 50 times away from the car), desynchronization of the key fob codes and the security system may occur. In this case - go to the car and quickly press the transmitter button twice. Synchronization will be restored and the key fob will again be able to control the system.

TRANSMITTER LOW BATTERY WARNING / REPLACE THE BATTERIES IN THE SYSTEM TRANSMITTER

A small LED is installed in the transmitter housing, which confirms the pressing of the transmitter buttons and also shows the battery status. As the battery discharges, you may notice a decrease in the range of the transmitter and, accordingly, a weakening of the LED.

To replace the battery:

  1. Open the cover by removing the small screw on the back of the transmitter housing.
  2. Remove the dead battery and remember the polarity of its installation.
  3. Install a new battery (type 23A), make sure the polarity is correct.
  4. Carefully install the cover without damaging the LED or switches on the circuit board.

A Russian manufacturer of security systems for cars created a panther alarm. It is characterized by the presence of multiple functions to ensure the safety of the vehicle, therefore, it has found its application among many motorists who appreciate it for its quality and reliability. Therefore, it is the Panther alarm that will be discussed in this article.

Types of pantera car alarms

There are various modifications of this pantera security system on the market, the alarm of which is designed to inform the driver about the state of his car, as well as start the engine at a distance or at a certain period of time. Therefore, the panther signaling is suitable for any car (even for an automatic transmission).

The developers tested it in various atmospheric temperature conditions, and therefore, its use is allowed in cars that are operated in the far north, or in Asia.

The developers of this product have created security systems of the following types.

  1. Single sided models. They have the following modifications: pantera xs 1000, qx 77, qx 44, CL 500, CLK 355. They are characterized by the fact that they are equipped with a function for emergency shutdown of the alarm using a special button that is coded with a pincode (model xs 1000), they have two-level shock sensors, which makes it susceptible to any damage, even minor. This also includes protective coding of the signal, which does not allow it to be read by scanners (models xs 1000, CL 500, CLK 355), and of course this is an alarm with auto-start of the motor, plus a 6-channel siren. In general, the xs 1000 model belongs to the flagships of panther one-way alarms.
  2. Bilateral models. These include pantera slk 675rs, slk 468, clc 180, slr 5625. They are characterized by an advanced anti-theft system, constant communication with the car owner about the state of the car, remote ability to turn off the engine in case of illegal possession, regulation of the starting capabilities of the motor (turning on at a certain temperature air, low battery). In addition, the installed additional sensor will be able to turn off the engine while it is moving.

But before you start using this alarm, it is important to remember that its range in feedback mode does not exceed 2 kilometers, and in remote engine start mode, lighting on, no more than 300-700 meters. This does not apply to the function of starting the engine at a certain air temperature, or low battery charge. This all happens automatically.

Equipment

The complete set of these anti-theft systems is as follows:

  • liquid crystal keychain, on its screen various indications of the state of the car are displayed, and there are also buttons for arming and disarming the alarm, starting the engine (with the exception of the simplest systems that serve to warn the driver about breaking into the car);
  • the simplest connection diagram, that is, the equipment kit includes not only the instruction manual, but also the connection diagram, for self-installation, the operating and programming manual is written in the language of the country where the alarm will be used;
  • equipment, shock sensors, magnetic buttons, block, wires, remote control key fob, shutdown button.

The instruction manual contains not only recommendations on how this anti-theft system should be installed, but also recommendations on how to set up and program some alarm functions. The Sherkhan signaling also has such functions.

It is important to remember that the price of this anti-theft security system is lower than other analogues with the same technical specifications. Therefore, it is not inferior in quality and reliability to such brands as Pharaoh, Sheriff, Starline alarms.

When buying an alarm, any car owner wants to choose an anti-theft system that will be the most reliable. Since the range of such systems on the market today is very large, sometimes it can be difficult to make the right choice. In this article, we will look at the main characteristics that the Pantera alarm system has, consider the connection and configuration process, and also talk about possible malfunctions.

One of the features of the SLK 35SC is the "polite" lighting option, which requires an additional relay to connect.
  4. Models Pantera XS-1500 and XS-1000 with two key fobs are equipped with options for protection against false inclusions. Also, the Pantera XS-1500 and XS-1000 devices have a Panic mode, which has been improved by the manufacturer's engineers. Pantera XS-1500 and XS-1000 allow you to automatically arm the car, and these systems are also equipped with an immobilizer. If necessary, the Pantera XS-1500 and XS-1000 allow you to configure the system so that the doors automatically close after the ignition is turned on.
  5. Pantera QX 270. One of the distinguishing features of the Pantera QX 270 with two key fobs is the ability to program a personal code that will allow you to turn off the system. If the QX 270 car enters a potentially dangerous area, for example, with electromagnetic waves, then a corresponding message will be displayed on the key fob. In addition, in the same place, on the QX 270 key fob, the nearest safe zone will be indicated in order to leave the car.
  6. QX 44. As for the QX 44 model, it also has some features. For example, as stated in the operating instructions, System 44 is equipped with a loud and very powerful six-tone siren and six independent security zones in the car.

Instructions for use

If you decide to purchase an alarm of this brand with two key fobs, then it will be useful for you to read the instruction manual. What is the connection diagram, how to properly configure and disable? You will find answers to these questions below.

How to connect?

To properly connect the anti-theft system to the vehicle, use the wiring diagram below. The scheme is given in accordance with the instruction manual.

How to setup?

To properly connect and configure the system, refer to the instruction manual. As you understand, there are a lot of types of such car alarms, respectively, the instructions for setting up and operating will be different for all types. With regard to general settings, one point should be noted. In the event that the system is activated even with a simple movement near the vehicle, it is necessary to reconfigure the sensitivity function.

In most cases, as indicated in the instructions for use, there can be two reasons for increased sensitivity:

  • if the system sensitivity level is set to the highest level;
  • if the shock sensor is installed incorrectly or loosely fastened.

To reduce the sensitivity level of the anti-theft system, you must use the instruction manual. As stated in the service manual, it is necessary to adjust the regulator installed directly on the shock sensor.

Experts recommend setting the fifth level on the scale, but here everything is usually individual. You need to set one or another level, and then lightly tap on the windshield or vehicle body. So you can choose the right level. To enable or disable the alarm, simply use the appropriate buttons on the key fob (video by Auto Azart).

Possible malfunctions

As practice shows, in general, the Pantera car signaling is a reliable anti-theft system.

But as the reviews show, there are certain malfunctions that are typical for such alarms:

  1. The remote refuses to work. In this case, there may be several solutions to the problem. First of all, it is necessary to check the performance of the battery in the key fob, as practice shows, most often the problem lies precisely in it. If low-quality batteries are used regularly, there is a chance that they will release a corrosive liquid, which can be harmful if it gets on the board. If replacing the battery does not help, then you can try to synchronize the key fob with the anti-theft system in accordance with the instructions.
  2. Failure of the system block itself. The system unit itself usually rarely breaks down, but despite this, some car owners also face the problem of failure. As a rule, the unit can fail when moisture gets on it, this often happens in domestic cars that get water during rain. If the unit is installed under the hood cable in the cabin, then please note that when you try to open the hood, water can enter the cabin through the cable. And if the device is installed directly below it, then the probability that sooner or later the block will close is very high.
  3. Burnout indicator light. With long-term operation of the signaling, it is likely that the indicator light will burn out over time. This will not affect the operation of the anti-theft system in any way, but the driver will not be able to find out whether he has put the car on the signaling or not. The problem is solved by opening the indicator and replacing the light bulb with a new one.

Pros and cons of the anti-theft system

First the benefits:

  • the car will always be under reliable protection;
  • if necessary, the signaling can be configured so that it is the most sensitive and even reacts to touching the car;
  • functions normally even at critically low temperatures;
  • the autostart function will allow you to drive a car that has already been warmed up in extreme cold.

Disadvantages:

  • the price does not always correspond to the quality;
  • in the absence of experience, it can be problematic to install the anti-theft system yourself;
  • in practice, remotes often fail;
  • prices for quality Pantera options are quite high.
