Rotary mechanism for interior doors. The device and self-assembly of rotary doors Do-it-yourself rotary mechanism for the door

From the article you will learn:

Today, people living in cramped apartments, in order to save such precious square meters, as a rule, prefer to install at home.

However, few of them know that there is a great alternative - an option that, in terms of its parameters and characteristics, is on a completely different quality level. We are talking about the so-called roto-door - a novelty in the Russian market of door structures.

In this article we will consider issues related to the features of its execution, as well as talk about the pros and cons characteristic of products of this kind.

Design specifics

The work of the roto-door is based on the combination of the principle of operation of doors of several types at once:

Moreover, the control mechanism responsible for the opening / closing function used in the roto-doors took only the best from the systems listed above.

The essence of the action of such a mechanism is to provide a special trajectory along which the door moves. A visual video tutorial on the operation of the roto-door can be viewed below:

It should be noted that, according to its design, the rotational mechanism is divided into two parts, which, performing joint actions, make it perform both rotary and sliding functions at the same time.

Important! When planning repairs, it is better to buy doors, which include a rotary mechanism, in advance, so that, based on their actual dimensions, they can finally form an opening of the desired size.

In addition to the door frame, the roto-door includes:

  • swivel hinge equipped with a roller wheel;
  • door frame;
  • grooved guide rail.
  • special lever.
  1. The hinge is responsible for the rotation of the door structure;
  2. The door frame, which contains the mechanism that ensures the operation of the system;
  3. Guide bar. It prevents the roller wheel from moving when moving;
  4. Lever arm. It is located at the bottom of the door leaf. Its functions include fixing the canvas strictly vertically.

As you can see from the video above, such an unusual opening/closing operation would not have been possible if there was no clear coordination in the actions of each element of this complex mechanism. This fact affected the complexity of assembling a disassembled device - if it were assembled by a door installer on site, then the assembly work would take quite a lot of time. Therefore, manufacturers, in order to avoid a large number of complaints (returns), supply interior roto doors to the collection point already assembled, which, you see, is quite convenient for both the buyer and the installer - less time is spent on work related with installation.

Advantages and disadvantages.

The design of roto doors has a huge number of positive aspects that distinguish it from other types of doors. Here are just a few of the key benefits.

  1. Versatility. What is it? These doors will look good in both large and cramped spaces. Want to ? No problem! In a living room with a lot of square meters? You are welcome! Do you have a narrow hallway? Then there is only one choice - roto-doors. They lend themselves to opening in any direction with a slight push - they can be pushed away from you, or you can push them towards yourself. Doors operating on a rotary type will show their individuality and the advantages of the technologies used in any premises, because they are neither left nor right.
  2. Interior door installation with a rotary opening mechanism can be produced in-house. This is facilitated by the fact that the systems are delivered to their destination ready-made and require only the final fixing in the doorway.
  3. High level of noise and heat insulation. This quality is due to the presence of brush seals in the design of products of this kind. Having acquired roto-doors, the owner will not have to experience discomfort from excessive penetration of extraneous sounds, as well as from excessive cooling of the room (unlike, say, owners of sliding doors).

Along with the obvious advantages, there are a number of disadvantages in the roto-doors.

How significant they are - the buyer decides based on the purely individual qualities required for the future door system. Minuses:

  1. Canvas weight limit. Almost all models of roto-doors are produced using composite materials with a low specific gravity (a vivid example of this is the use of MDF material). Manufacturers are pushed to this step by the design feature of the mechanism, which is not designed to move a large weight product - excess weight adversely affects the duration of its operation.
  2. Price. The price of a roto-door includes, in addition to the canvas, a rather complex opening / closing control mechanism. In addition, as mentioned earlier, the assembly of this design is carried out directly by the manufacturer, which directly affects the final cost of this type of door. At the same time, it must be remembered that due to the factory assembly, the installation of a roto-door at the facility will cost less than the installation of standard door structures.
  3. The complexity of self-production. Due to the occurrence of unforeseen moments that arise during the fitting and during the operation of self-assembled systems, making roto-doors with your own hands, even taking into account the fact that the rotational mechanism can be purchased separately, is beyond the power of even most experienced craftsmen.

To better understand what a roto door is, as well as how it works, just watch the video clip, which demonstrates the principle of operation. It is presented below.

In conclusion, I would like to draw some conclusions. Of course, the main trump card of this type of door is non-standard opening. When installing it either in a private house or in an apartment, each time you open it you will experience the pleasure of using it, at the same time realizing that not everyone in our country has a door that functions in this way. On the other hand, the price of such a pleasure will be disproportionately higher than the option, similar in size and finish, but opening in a standard swing way. Therefore, when choosing a suitable interior door, you should carefully weigh the financial possibilities.

The door is a necessary component of the interior, which today is represented by a wide variety of options. Interior structures are classified according to the material from which they are made, appearance, color and mechanism of operation. A popular and ergonomic option is a rotary mechanism. Its distinctive feature is also an extraordinary appearance that complements the modern interior.

Roto-doors are sliding or folding structures, convenient to operate

Important! The roto-mechanism is a universal option that will easily fit into any room. Feel free to give preference to this design, if originality and comfort are important to you. The sliding mechanism is more practical than swing doors, so today roto models are in demand.

What is a roto door?

Doors with a rotary mechanism - a design with an action reminiscent of both swing and sliding. The main advantage is the ability to open immediately in both directions. At the same time, it is possible to save usable floor space, which is important in a cramped apartment.

The rotary mechanism for the doors itself is arranged, therefore such doors are sold as a kit, ready for the installation process. This is convenient, since there is no need to independently search for the appropriate components. Installation of the mechanism is simple if you follow the instructions, so it is done by hand, which saves money.

Roto models are a kind of hybrid of other designs.

They resemble pendulum doors, as they open in both directions. The sash of the roto-door moves to the side, making the passage in the doorway as wide and free as possible. This is the prerogative of book models and sliding mechanisms. In the closed position, such products are easily confused with swing ones. At the same time, they provide a high level of sound and heat insulation.

The rotary mechanism works easily and silently, and the installation is done by hand. This is achieved due to the presence of rollers moving along a special upper groove. The very principle of operation assumes that when opening the door rotates around its axis, moves to the side, but does not go beyond the inner box.

Finished models are sold in standard sizes. This makes it easy to install them in the required opening. If required, you can leave an individual order for the design and get a model made according to personal preferences. Structures are divided into double-leaf and single-leaf. The specific choice is selected according to the width of the doorway.

Advantages and disadvantages of roto models

The rotary folding mechanism for roto doors has both advantages and disadvantages. There are many more of the first, therefore, such designs are valued. Among the advantages are the following:

  1. Do-it-yourself installation is possible without difficulties or pitfalls during the installation process.
  2. Design practicality. In the open state, the roto-door goes beyond the box by no more than 30 cm, which is convenient when there is a shortage of space.
  3. Versatility of application. Models look appropriate in apartments with a lack of free space, and in country houses.
  4. The convenience of use. It is manifested by the ability of the structure to open in both directions, and sometimes you can’t do without it.
  5. High rates of thermal insulation. This guarantees the safety of the microclimate in a particular room.
  6. Excellent soundproofing. It allows you to enjoy comfort and silence, so these door models are installed in the bedroom or nursery.
  7. Draft resistant. Thanks to the magnetic lock, the door prevents spontaneous opening and provides excellent tightness of the porch.
  8. No sagging even when installing with your own hands. This is a common problem with swing models, which is solved here at a high level.
  9. Ease of opening for both right-handers and left-handers.
  10. The ability to comfortably use the door for people with disabilities.
  11. The mouth model is recommended to be mounted in narrow spaces where the installation of other doors is impossible or difficult.

The design also has a number of disadvantages. Chief among them is the high cost. This indicator is determined by the build quality, material and the presence of decor. However, in any case, the model is not cheap. If you plan to install a roto-mechanism on heavy doors, this is not always easy. It may be necessary to strengthen the mechanism to ensure normal and full operation.

In addition, be sure to look at the aesthetic side of the model. Not in all cases, it will become a harmonious addition to the interior in style. In classic interiors, a roto-door can look awkward if you are careless about choosing a design.

The mechanism is ideal for modern interiors decorated in modern and minimalist styles.

Attention! Despite the apparent complexity of the door mechanism, it is easy to install. Installation is easy to do with your own hands, if you prepare a minimum of tools. No special skills or knowledge are required for this.

Choosing a material

One of the important indicators of choosing a roto-mechanism is the material of the door. Such a mechanism is installed on doors made of the following materials:

  1. Glass.
  2. Wood.
  3. MDF or chipboard.
  4. Combined options.

Of course, each of them has its own disadvantages and advantages, which is important to consider when choosing the preferred option.

Roto doors are chosen in accordance with the design of the room. it is important to consider the appearance, shape, material and design

Wooden doors are made of solid wood or veneer. They can be represented by a deaf option or glazed. The choice is impressive and and is selected according to personal preferences. Among the advantages of wooden doors are environmental friendliness, cleanliness, safety, high heat and sound insulation, luxurious appearance. However, the material is susceptible to rot, insects and moisture if not properly treated with impregnations.

MDF is a kind of analogue of wood, affordable. It has high performance and guarantees a long service life. PVC is a budget option that is best not used for installation in nurseries or bedrooms. This is explained by its toxicity when purchased from unverified manufacturers. Glass looks luxurious and interesting. It is reliable, durable and practically has no flaws.

Wood is one of the best choices

When choosing a roto-mechanism for doors, consider your own preferences and wishes. Despite the ease of use, the design is not cheap. Therefore, small mistakes can spoil the impression of the purchased door and disappoint during operation. The right choice ensures that the design will look interesting and will definitely please you.

Modern technologies set new trends in our world. This applies to any area of human life, even as simple as choosing and installing a door. A few years ago, swing and sliding structures were considered the most convenient and functional. But each of them had its drawbacks. A door with a new rotary mechanism has appeared on the market today, which combines practicality and style, which is important for the modern user.

Features of doors with a rotary mechanism

Roto doors appeared on sale not so long ago, but now there are a huge number of fans of this mechanism. So what attracts buyers in this novelty? Let's start with the fact that the door got its name from the word "rotor".

To save space in an apartment or house, a roto-door was developed.

Rotor - a rotating part of any mechanism or machine.

The uniqueness lies in the special mechanism by which this type of door functions. When closed, a roto-door is no different from a standard swing door, however, at the moment of opening, it not only moves perpendicular to the doorway, but also rotates around its axis. Thus, the canvas stops across the opening, saving free space. In addition, such a door can open in any direction: away from you or towards you. The mechanism works easily and smoothly, without making extraneous noise.

The operation of the door is based on a retractable rotary mechanism, which radically changes the position of the leaf during its opening and closing.

The principle of operation of the roto door

The rotational mechanism includes two main parts:

  • guide block;
  • lever system.

The main parts consist of the following elements:

  • guide;
  • upper arm;
  • top bar with carriage;
  • support rod;
  • bottom bar;
  • lower lever.

The door structure is supplied with high-quality fittings, which are durable and durable.

The upper part of the door frame is equipped with a grooved guide, in which a swivel hinge is integrated, which moves with a roller. Thanks to the hinge, the door leaf rotates easily and moves along the guide. A lever is mounted in the lower part of the door, which is connected to the upper mechanism by means of an axis of rotation. It is mounted in the door frame rack. The lower lever provides reliable fixation of the canvas in a vertical position at the moment of opening or closing. The rotary mechanism is quite complicated, in order to independently assemble and install it, you need to study its design in detail. However, the doors that are on the market are sold with the mechanism already assembled, which facilitates installation in the opening.

Advantages and disadvantages of roto doors

Doors equipped with a roto-mechanism have a lot of advantages:

  1. The most important plus of roto doors is space saving. To open such a door, you need half the space compared to a swing door. This advantage is especially valuable in apartments and other small areas.

    To open a standard swing door, you need a place equal to the width of the door; in the case of a roto door, the opening dimensions will be reduced by more than half

  2. Ease of installation. Due to the fact that the design goes on sale with a fully assembled rotary mechanism, even an inexperienced craftsman can install such a door.
  3. Versatility. The design is able to open in any direction, which makes it functional and easy to use.

    When choosing a door leaf, it does not matter whether the door is left or right

  4. Reliability of fixation. Thanks to a high-quality magnetic lock, the door closes tightly.

    As a rule, all fittings are cut and installed at the factory using a special professional tool, which greatly simplifies the installation of such a door, ensures reliability and long-term operation.

  5. Long service life. The door leaf will not sag or deform, as the rotational mechanism eliminates this possibility.
  6. High heat and sound insulation. The presence of special brush-type seals ensures the safety of heat and prevents the penetration of extraneous noise into the room protected by the roto-door.

    The black stripes of the brush seal are clearly visible on the light end of the door leaf.

  7. Ease of use even for people with disabilities.

    The wheelchair will pass freely through the rotary doorway, as there are no obstacles in the form of thresholds

  8. Diverse design. The appearance and style of the door can be matched to the design of any room. They can be deaf or with glass, bright colors or shades imitating wood, decorated with drawings and other decor, or have a laconic look.

    Glass roto doors can visually expand the space of the room

There are only two disadvantages of roto-doors:

  1. High price. The most significant disadvantage is the high cost of door leafs with a roto-mechanism, this is due to the fact that such doors are made on high-quality innovative equipment.
  2. Limited door leaf weight. Due to the fact that the rotary mechanism is not able to withstand too heavy structures, solid wood doors cannot be installed on it.

Varieties of roto doors

The classification of roto-doors can be carried out according to three main criteria. According to the material from which they are made, they distinguish:

  • PVC doors;

    Door with PVC coating can be installed even in the bathroom

  • MDF;

    The door made of MDF panels has a fairly light construction.

  • glass;

    The glass installed in the door can be transparent, frosted, decorated with a pattern or mosaic

  • light wood sheets.

    Roto-door made of wood looks stylish and luxurious

You can also purchase combined types of roto doors, for example, MDF panels with glass inserts.

According to the mechanism of the door can be:

  • mechanical;
  • automatic (the price of a door with such a device is several times higher than with a mechanical one).

By the number of leaves:

The size of the roto-door is standard: the width of the leaf can be made within 40–90 centimeters, but the height is always the same - 210 centimeters.

The design of doors with a rotary mechanism can be anything. A huge selection of colors and textures of these products is on sale, so that if desired, each buyer will find a door leaf that meets his needs. In addition, roto doors can be made to order according to a drawing or drawing provided by the customer.

When ordering a roto door with a wide leaf, make sure that the rotation mechanism is reinforced

What kind of rooms are roto doors suitable for?

Doors with a rotary mechanism can be installed in any room, but only inside the building. They are not suitable for entrance structures, due to the fact that they do not have increased protection, such as safe doors. However, at the entrances to shopping centers, clinics, office buildings, you can often see automatic roto-doors: four-leaf glass rotating structures.

Automatic roto door moves without human assistance

If we talk about interior options for roto doors, then they are ideal for narrow, cramped corridors, small rooms and other uncomfortable spaces. After all, the main advantage is saving space. Such a door will take up 50% less space than a conventional swing door. But this does not mean that it is impossible to install a roto-door in a room with a sufficient area. After all, it is in no way inferior in functionality to any other type of door structures, and even outperforms some.

The roto-door mechanism is designed in such a way that the door leaf rises across the doorway

Depending on the material from which the roto-door is made, it can also be installed in rooms with high humidity. For example, PVC construction can be installed both in the bathroom and in the kitchen.

PVC film is completely moisture resistant material

The only thing that can stop a buyer from installing a roto-door is its price. One door structure will cost at least 40 thousand rubles. Other than this financial constraint, there are no other barriers to installing a roto door.

Narrow vertical lines on the roto-door will visually raise the ceiling higher Furniture and interior items can be placed next to the roto-door without being afraid to hit them with the door The glass insert visually pushes the walls apart and gives the room additional space. The roto door has a stylish appearance: it is worthy of becoming an adornment of the most sophisticated interior of the room. Interesting door designs are obtained by combining different textures: for example, a triplex with a matte film surrounded by a veneered MDF frame is perfect for most interiors The rotary mechanism is universal and can be used for door leaves made of many materials that are not very heavy

Installation of revolving doors

As mentioned earlier, a roto-door can be installed by any master who has ever encountered the installation of a conventional hinged structure. Since the rotary mechanism itself has already been assembled and installed, the specialist only needs to fix the canvas in the doorway.

You can always use the services of installers who will perform a quick installation

If you doubt your abilities or have never encountered the installation of door structures, then it is better to seek help from professional craftsmen.

Any set of roto doors is equipped with detailed instructions for installing the door leaf. It is important to strictly adhere to it and observe the stages of work, which can be divided into four components:

  1. Checking the scope of delivery.
  2. Preliminary work with the door opening.
  3. Door frame installation.
  4. Adjustment of the installed canvas.

For the correct and high-quality installation of the door, it is necessary that all components are in place:

If all the components are in order, then you can proceed to the preparation of the doorway. You need to make sure that it is even vertically and horizontally. This can be done using the building level. The space between the box and the opening should be minimal - no more than five millimeters.

If the apartment is being renovated, then it is better to prepare the doorway for the roto-door before finishing the walls. After all, it must exactly match the size of the door frame.

The uniform thickness of the pier is also a mandatory factor in the preparation of the opening. If you neglect this moment, then in the future there may be problems with installing the box and platbands.

After careful preparation of the doorway, you can proceed with the installation.

Before installing the door, you should familiarize yourself with the names of the various parts of the roto-mechanism

Video: assembly of the roto-mechanism

Installation steps

The installation of revolving doors can be divided into five stages:

  1. Fitting accessories. The guide must be cut from the side indicated by the manufacturer in accordance with the dimensions of the opening. Drill holes for mounting. Cut off the guide structure cover on the marked side.

    There is a mark (arrow) on the guide showing from which side you can make a reduction in size

  2. Door frame installation. Insert it into the opening, fix it with wooden wedges. Fill the space between the box and the opening with mounting foam. After it hardens, fix the guide on the door frame.

    After assembling the guide, the mechanism must be lubricated

  3. Canvas installation. Attach the lower and upper bars and brushes. Install the axial rod in the profile, fix the “shoulders” on it. Attach the mounting brackets to the case and insert the axle. Attach extensions to it, fix the mounting strips. Fix the axle on the box.

    All parts must be fixed with self-tapping screws and not have free play, except for guides

  4. Adjustment. At the top of the roto-mechanism is a screw with a lock. With its help, the verticality of the canvas is adjusted by level. The screw is rotated using the hexagon, which is included in the door package.
  5. Platband installation. Saw them to the required length. Fasten with special grooves.

    Covers are fixed with bolts

Operation and repair of revolving doors

Doors with a rotary mechanism do not require special operating rules. And possible methods of care depend on the material:

  1. To clean a PVC-coated door from dirt, a soft cloth and soapy water will suffice. Do not use products containing acetone, solvents or alcohol.
  2. Glass doors are washed with special products that contain ammonia.
  3. Solid wood doors are cleaned with a special solution, which is prepared from water and alcohol in a ratio of 9 to 1, respectively.
  4. MDF doors are cleaned in the same way as PVC doors - using soapy water.

For any type of construction, in no case should abrasive powders be used: they can scratch the surface of the door, thereby spoiling its appearance.

Special furniture wax will help to mask the scratches that have appeared on the PVC, MDF and solid wood doors. You just need to choose the right one to match the canvas.

Scuffs and minor scratches will also help eliminate the furniture marker.

Deep scratches are sealed with wood putty, sandpaper and varnish:

  1. Apply a layer of putty to the dent.
  2. After it dries, sand the surface with sandpaper.
  3. Apply paintwork to match the door leaf.

For solid wood doors, you should use products designed for wood, laminated or veneered surfaces.

To prevent the roto-mechanism from failing ahead of time, do not hang heavy objects on the door handles, and do not allow children to hang and ride on them. If you follow these simple rules, the roto-door will delight you with excellent functionality and aesthetic appearance for many years.

Interior design never stops evolving. Customers are becoming more demanding, design solutions are becoming more refined. New trends have also affected door designs. One of the latest such solutions was the invention of roto doors. In competition with classic hinged and sliding doors, the roto door is becoming increasingly popular. This is not surprising, because the design feature allows you to save space, and in terms of design, such doors fit very well into popular interior design styles, such as hi-tech and minimalism.

The principle of operation, on the basis of which roto doors are designed, is to simultaneously rotate the door leaf and move it to the side. This happens along a certain trajectory.

The rotary door opening system consists of two main elements: a guide that is mounted on top of the doorway, and a hinge assembly located directly on the door leaf.

The hinge sets the position of the door leaf relative to the plane of the doorway, and the guide provides movement in this plane. The operation of the roto doors is completely silent, they open in both directions, and minimal effort is required to open them.

Types of doors

The variety of roto doors is in no way inferior to doors of other designs. Actually, only the mechanism that distinguishes roto doors from among others is unique. The main criterion for choosing a material is the light weight of the structure. For example use:

Advantages

Due to its unique design, the roto door compares favorably with other door mechanisms.

  • Easy to use. Roto the mechanism for doors is only slightly inferior in simplicity to the hinged mechanism, and significantly outperforms sliding doors. The main element of this mechanism is a guide with a groove along which the hinge moves.
  • Since the door leaf can be opened in any direction, they are very suitable for installation in apartments where children, the elderly or people with disabilities live.

  • Due to the fact that the rotary mechanism is mounted on the axis of the center of mass of the door leaf, sagging is completely excluded. It also ensures maximum smoothness when turning the door.
  • Space saving. Rotary interior doors in the open state only slightly protrude beyond the level of the walls. Whereas standard doors take up space in the room equal to the size of the canvas. There are designs in which the door leaf is divided into two parts adjacent to the jambs.

Interior roto doors occupy half the space.

disadvantages

Despite a lot of advantages, doors with a rotary mechanism have some disadvantages.

  • Product price. The high cost is due to the high cost of materials and high requirements for technical support for the production of doors.
  • Restrictions on the weight of the door leaf and the impossibility of mounting the structure on walls less than eight centimeters thick.
  • It does not fit well into interiors made in classical and historical styles.

Mounting

The technically correct solution would be to entrust the installation of the roto mechanism to specialists. But in reality this process is not represents a great complexity. Moreover, an instruction is supplied with the doors, in which the installation of the roto door is described in detail. So those who have already independently carried out repairs in the apartment may well mount the roto door mechanism with their own hands.

This process can be divided into three stages:

The classic version of the door opening - hinged doors. Despite the many advantages of this method, more and more new ways of closing and opening the valves are still appearing. This is due to the different operating conditions of the premises, under which the usual option turns out to be extremely inconvenient for one reason or another.

Doors interroom Roto differ in an atypical way of opening.

What it is?

In fact, Roto is a door leaf with a pendulum mechanism. As such, it was used for a long time, but not as an interior door, since it did not provide a snug fit for the sash. Modern models, in particular, from the company Sophia or Framir, successfully solve this problem.

The Roto door system consists of 2 guides that are fixed to the door leaf - most often made of wood or wood material, and to the opening. The device has special rollers that provide sliding displacement of the sash. When opened, the door leaf rotates around its axis and moves towards the jamb. In the photo - Roto sash.

A “purely” pendulum mechanism does not provide such an effect: in this case, the sash only rotates around an axis located in the center of the product or with an offset. However, special systems from Sophia or Framir are rotary-sliding. The door really turns, and then completely adjoins to an end face of an aperture. In this case, the opening turns out to be as open as possible, and the sash does not interfere with movement, as is the case with a swing door with a small area of \u200b\u200bthe room.

Advantages and disadvantages

The Roto door mechanism provides the product with a number of advantages:

  • this opening option can be installed on any canvas - made of wood, MDF, PVC, glass, mirrors and so on. Moreover, the system can be strengthened on an already finished product;
  • interior Roto sash opens in any direction. There is no need to follow a certain direction, moreover, this allows you to temporarily place large objects on one side of the opening;
  • installation of accessories can be done by hand. Mounting is very simple, and the device is equipped with a complete set of mounts;
  • the sash when shifted to the ends of the opening, as in the options from the companies Sofia or Framir, occupies only 50% of its width. In addition, you can open it in a currently free direction;
  • this method of opening, according to reviews, completely solves the problem of sagging of the door leaf;
  • The roto leaf fits snugly against the door frame when closing, so that in terms of heat and sound insulation, rotary interior doors are in no way inferior to swing doors;
  • the set includes magnetic or mechanical locks that prevent spontaneous opening of the doors.

The products also have disadvantages:

  • the cost of such a solution is noticeably higher than the swing version;
  • for a canvas with a large weight, this mechanism is not suitable;
  • the opening option harmoniously looks in modern styles - hi-tech, techno, but does not fit the rustic and classic style even with the appropriate design.

Product varieties

In fact, there are only 2 types of Roto doors:

  • single-leaf - the opening is blocked by one door leaf. Installation of the lock as in the most usual oar shutter is possible. Dimensions are limited by ordinary common sense - it is very inconvenient to move a product with a width of more than 1.2 m anywhere. Maximum weight - 70 kg;

  • bivalve - an important difference from other models is the limitation in proportions: the wings can only be the same. In the photo - the door of Sofia Roto.

Roto sash set

The door leaf can be originally intended for installation of this system or be chosen arbitrarily. Only the weight is limited - the fittings will not withstand more than 70 kg.

The mechanism set includes:

  • magnetic lock - sometimes there is a mechanical option;
  • a box with a built-in rotary device;
  • set of platbands;
  • guides;
  • brush seal - if an interior door was bought.

Roto door installation

The installation scheme of the rotary sash is not much different from the swing installation, so it is easy to do it yourself.

If you believe the reviews, it is even easier to do this, since instead of door hinges, guides are fixed here:

  1. Prepare the canvas and the doorway: the slopes must be exactly horizontal, as well as the vertical bar.
  2. First of all, the door frame is assembled, temporarily fixed to the wall. Carefully adjust the position of the frame with wooden blocks. Only after the box has taken the desired position, it is fixed with anchors.
  3. They install the guides - it’s difficult to make a mistake here, since the fittings are fixed at the very top and at the very bottom of the box. Therefore, it is important that there is no height difference between the rooms and there is no threshold: the gap between the canvas and the floor is only 3 mm.
  4. The door leaf is temporarily fixed on the rails and the position is adjusted. Only having achieved ease of rotation and opening, fix the sash.

On the video, the installation process of the Roto MDF door is presented in detail.
