Consumption CE 33 Comfort

Approximate consumption of dry mix CE 33 Comfort depending on the width of the joint and the size of the tile:

Note: The consumption of material depends on the quality of preparation of the foundation and the qualifications of the performers of the work and may be higher than the indicated values.

Packaging and storage

Dry mix CE 33 Comfort is supplied in multilayer paper bags of 2, 5 and 25 kg. In dry conditions, on pallets, in original undamaged paper packaging - no more than 12 months from the date of manufacture.

We are pleased to inform you that the size of the grout for Ceresit CE 33 has been increased from 5 to 6 mm. This change applies to all batches produced after 06/01/2017.

Ceresit CE33 colored grouts are used for interior and exterior work on narrow joints (no more than 5 mm). They are lined with bases that are not subject to deformation - concrete, cement, lime concrete. A periodic increase in humidity of this grout is not scary. It is also resistant to bacteria and fungi, so it is recommended to use Ceresit CE33 in bathrooms and in the kitchen. Given the frost resistance of the grout, it can also be used outdoors.

Seam filling

To prepare a grout, you need to gradually add dry grout CE 33 to the water, and not vice versa! Constantly stirring, the mass is brought to a homogeneous and evenly colored consistency. The waiting time (technological pause) is five minutes. After their expiration, the solution is stirred and consumed in an hour.
The grout is applied with a rubber spatula - tools subject to corrosion are not used. Then it is gently rubbed into the seam, while the tool moves diagonally to the surface to be treated. The excess mass of grout remaining on the tiles is collected with a spatula and the process is repeated.
After a few minutes (5-7), the seams are wiped with a damp sponge, which must be rinsed frequently. The sponge should not be too wet to avoid scouring the joint and discoloring the grout. It takes 24 hours for Ceresit CE33 to dry completely.

RECOMMENDATIONS ON CRITICAL FACTORS FOR APPLICATION OF CEMENT GROWS

1. Before grouting, make sure that the substrate and tile adhesive are dry and that moisture cannot enter from the side of the substrate. After applying the tile adhesive, a time period of at least that specified by its manufacturer must elapse.

2. Works should be carried out at a temperature of the base and ambient air not lower than +5°C and not higher than +30°C and relative air humidity not higher than 80%.

3. For outdoor work, the cladding must be protected from precipitation, wind and direct sunlight. During interior work, drafts, uneven heating and early contact with water should be excluded.

4. The joints must be completely cleaned of tile adhesive to the full depth. The ends of absorbent tiles must be moistened evenly.

6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the water while stirring, achieving a homogeneous mass without lumps. Mixing of all brands of grout should be done only with a mixer or a drill with a nozzle at a rotation speed of 400–800 rpm. Pause for about 5 minutes for the mixture to mature and mix it again.

7. In the case of facings made of matt, unglazed tiles, natural or artificial stone, before starting work, test the color of the tiles on a small, least visible area of the facing.

8. Carefully fill the joints with grout using a rubber spatula. Gather excess from the surface with the same spatula, moving it diagonally to the seams.

9. Once the grout has thickened (approximately 15 minutes), gently wipe the surface of the cladding with a slightly damp, well-wrung and frequently rinsed sponge, while shaping the surface of the joints. Avoid too early, long and intensive troweling and excessive wetting of the joints, as this leads to blurring and discoloration of the grout!

10. Remove dried deposits from the tiles with a dry soft cloth no later than the period specified by the manufacturer for each specific type of grout. Failure to comply with the deadlines may lead to permanent contamination or damage to the tiles!

11. After completion of work, contact of the grout with water should be excluded, as well as cleaning of the cladding using detergents, within the time specified by the manufacturer for each specific type of grout.

Ceresit CE 33 grout is designed for grouting joints with a width of 2-5 mm.

Properties:

  • waterproof;
  • frost-resistant;
  • weatherproof;
  • environmentally friendly;
  • quick grip.

Application area:

The material is intended for grouting (filling) the joints of ceramic, glass and stone facings on floors and walls during external and internal work. Works with this material are performed on non-deformable bases and bases that do not need waterproofing, such as concrete, cement and cement-lime, in civil and industrial construction. It has an antifungal effect and is used to fill the seams of linings that are operated under conditions of periodic moistening (bath, shower, kitchen).

Foundation preparation:

The substrates and the adhesive fixing the tiles must be dry. The tiles must fit snugly against the substrate on which they are laid. The depth of the tile joints should be the same.

Grouting can be done after the expiration of the period specified in the instructions for the adhesive used. In the case of using ordinary cement mortar as an adhesive, grouting can be done no earlier than 7 days after laying the tiles.

Seams on bases with increased moisture absorption must be pre-moistened.

When grouting old lining or lining, it is necessary to remove (scratch out) the mortar from the old joints and moisten the base.

In the case of grouting tiles with a matt or unglazed surface, it is necessary to test whether the tiles are stained with the pigments contained in the grout.

Execution of works:

The materials are mixed with clean cold (from +15 to +20°C) water, based on the calculation of 0.33 liters of water per kg of dry mixture, and mixed using low-speed mechanical mixers until a homogeneous mass without lumps is obtained. Withstand the technological pause for about 3 minutes and mix the solution again. An overdose of water leads to the loss of the guaranteed properties of the grout and the deterioration of technological characteristics.

The prepared solution is placed on the facing tiles with a rubber trowel or rubber spatula and, moving the tool at an angle to the facing, the solution is pressed into the seams. The excess mortar is collected with a spatula from the surface of the tiles and the seams are refilled with it. After 5 - 10 minutes, the worn surface is washed with a damp, often rinsed sponge. In order not to wash the grout, it is not recommended to hastily and intensively wash off the material from the surface of the seam.

Remaining on the tile and dried grout grout can be easily removed by wiping with a dry soft cloth the next day.

To prevent drying and chipping of the grout in the joints, it is recommended to moisten them with a wet sponge after the mortar has set.

The dependence of the consumption of grouts on the size of the tile and the width of the seam:

Attention:

The work must be carried out in dry conditions and at a substrate temperature between + 5°C and + 30°C. All of the above recommendations are valid at +20°C and 60% relative humidity. In other conditions, the setting and hardening time of the grout may change.

Different absorbency of the side edges of the tiles, uneven drying of the seam, the movement of moisture from the base can cause a change in the color of the grout in the seam.

In addition to the above information on how to use the material, when working with it, you should be guided by the general instructions for working with cement materials.

If in doubt about the possibility of a particular application of the material, you should test it yourself or seek advice from the manufacturer.

The above information, as well as recommendations not confirmed in writing, cannot serve as a basis for the unconditional liability of the manufacturer.

From the moment this technical description appears, all previous ones become invalid.
