The best board games. Board games

I decided to compile an up-to-date selection of what I have high hopes for in the already coming 2017. I think that towards the end of the year it will be interesting to return to this list and update my thoughts based on the games played or impressions in absentia.

Let's go from the least expected to the most desirable.

  1. CO₂: Second Edition
  1. Pandemic Legacy: Season 2

One of the highlights of the past year was playing through the first season campaign. For two months we were just cutting ourselves off - we were looking forward to the next Saturday in order to open some box, paste over the components and get a new portion of a thoughtful and interesting plot.

Now Rob Davio has an even more difficult task - not only to give an interesting continuation in terms of storytelling, but also to introduce hitherto unseen legacy chips into it. While the first photos are encouraging. As you can see, the playing field will undergo major changes, there is no talk of any map of the world.

In general, it will be interesting to see how long the second season will be. And will it not turn out that, due to the lack of a “wow effect”, everything will seem secondary and not so exciting.

  1. Charterstone

Stonemaier Games ( , Between Two Cities, Euphoria) is keeping up with the times and plans to kickstart its ambitious new village-building legacy project soon. There is no doubt that it will turn out beautifully, but what is meant by the word legacy in the title? If these are only additional rules and modules, as in "", then so-so. Still, I want a full-fledged legacy with box stickers and global fateful decisions.

Judging by the latest information, buildings-locations on the common field, intended to accommodate workers, will be changed and added. With each game, the choice of where to send your wards will increase. Components will be modified over 12 batches. According to the author's assurances, at the end everyone will receive their own unique eurogame that retains replay value.

Jamie's euros come out great, and if he properly seasons everything with development from game to game, then you can get sweetie. The main thing is not to be too smart, as with Seafall. Here the euro-rod itself should be exciting, not overloaded, for an hour and a half.

  1. This War of Mine: The Board Game

And again, a cooperative game with a rich storyline that tells about the survival of ordinary people during the civil war. A dilapidated house, a minimum of amenities, a shortage of provisions and medicines, various ailments, uninvited guests - the heroes of the computer sequel will face all these problems.

The peculiarity, at first glance, of an ordinary survival simulator lies in the so-called "scripts" - paragraphs-events that are read out when special cards are drawn. In general, the toy intrigues with its theme (not viruses or zombies) and emphasis on the atmosphere. And the fact that Michał Oracz (Neuroshima Hex) is listed as a co-author adds confidence that something worthwhile will come out.

  1. First Martians: Adventures on the Red Planet

For us, this is an exciting and atmospheric team adventure, which you can embark on, having collapsed into a comfortable chair and brewed a cup of tea. First Martians will use the same research, development and event mechanics, but in a different now popular Martian setting, which I really like.

Yes, this time the heroes will have to face the difficulties of survival on the red planet. In addition to the change of scenery, it is also attractive that numerous decks of cards will be replaced by a digital application. This will not only save time on preparation, but will allow you to program certain plot twists based on specific actions, successes or failures of the players. Perhaps, earlier I would have been skeptical about the introduction of a tablet, but having tried the second edition, now I look forward to how convenient and out of place everything can turn out.

As for the number of scenarios, Ignatius recently mentioned that there will be 6 independent stories in the base box, plus two campaigns of 5 scenarios each. Well, not bad. The only thing that worries me so far is the final design. I hope that Mars will not be schematic, but picturesque, to match the already lit miniatures.

Here is such a list turned out. A lot of survival cooperative games, as well as games with a legacy component. This is exactly what the soul has been demanding lately, because I have not felt a lack of good euros for a long time. In general, while writing, already salivating flowed - so many interesting things await us this year!

Various virtual projects give us a lot of emotions and sensations, but there are no less interesting options for spending time with the whole company - it is with this in mind that we present you the best board games.

The Settlers of Catan. A unique game that dates back to 1995 and has sold over 15 million copies to date. It has simple rules, pleasant design and interesting during the game - you can spend several hours unnoticed behind the colonizers without any problems, and spend quite a lot of fun. Cultivate completely new lands, harvest and do everything to become the best colonizer.

It is worth mentioning that in 2012 they even started to hold world championships for this tabletop, so there is nothing more to add here - go to the store and then play with friends!

Middle Ages (Carcassonne). Another phenomenon in the board game industry that is played by all ages. The game is designed for 2-5 people and takes up to 1.5 hours. During the game, you yourself lay out the playing field from the cards, which makes it possible to create unique worlds every time. You have to capture as many territories as possible and score points to win.

At the moment, the game has sold 7 million copies and this figure continues to grow rapidly every day. Some players even buy several boxes at a time to increase the number of cards.

Pandemic. But in this game you will need to take control of saving the world. It takes one game an average of about an hour and can accommodate up to 4 players. If you usually have to compete and take everything to heart, then here the maximum emphasis is placed on team play. Unite and send the best specialists in the world to fight the raging diseases.

There are wonderful and thoughtful mechanics here without any accidents, there are moments where you will need to communicate animatedly and actively - in general, a very wonderful game.

Dominion. Designed for 1.5 hours of play with a maximum of four, this board game is a set of cards. Each player will have to redeem them and collect their own deck to collect points and further victory. With 10 types of kingdom cards in each game, 25 per box, and plus various add-ons, all this guarantees many hours of exciting game that will surprise you every time.

Accumulate funds, turn coppers into gold, collect a unique set and show that you are the best Dominion!

The best board games

7 Wonders (7 Wonders). But this wonderful game can take as many as seven people for at least an hour. You have to go to the distant times of conquest and deal with the production of resources, the development of the army, the construction of Wonders of the World, filling the treasury and applying the laws of development. It's like the well-known Civilization in computer games, only on paper and simpler in the good sense of the word.

The replay value of the game is simply amazing, and the competitive spirit is present like nowhere else. If you want to show your tactical savvy and wipe everyone's nose, then this is the very chance.

Agricola (Agricola). This desktop invites you to try on the role of a landowner. You alone or in the company of three more people lead your own agriculture to success periodically competing. Colorful design, unusual rules and even a simplified family version of the rules for beginners in board games.

When it comes to replay value, no two games are the same. Always and everything is new, taking into account the fact that everyone follows their own path of development and collecting points.

Puerto Rico. You in the company of 4 players for 2 hours are offered to experience a rather interesting confrontation on one of the islands of the Caribbean. The game is somewhat similar to the Colonizers - you need to cultivate plantations, import products and always be able to get around your rivals in cunning ways.

A board game that offers unique combinations and is the true quintessence of Eurogaming. Build unique buildings, perform unusual actions, be smarter than others and be sure to succeed.

Ticket for the Train (Ticket to Ride). A game with a huge list of rewards that can compete with the Colonists or the Middle Ages and entertain a company of 5 people. The player needs to collect various cards, stake out certain routes and then lay them between cities.

You have to make rather complex tactical decisions, but despite this, the rules of the game are simply extremely simple and you can learn them in just a couple of minutes. Almost 3 million copies have been sold so far.

Small World (Small World). Board game of medium difficulty for a whole company of 5 players or at least 2. Offers to plunge into the world of magic and fantasy. The simplest mechanics, 14 main races and a bunch of add-ons, constant competition, wars, intrigues and much more await you here.

It looks quite beautiful and is played excitingly, so it’s simply unrealistic not to fall in love with such a masterpiece! Fun and unusual adventures are just more than enough here!

Power grid (Power Grid). We have already seen something similar in the Train Ticket, only here we are talking about laying power lines. You need to buy power plants, provide them with a certain type of fuel at any cost, and then deal with laying lines. You can play alone or gather a company of up to 6 people.

The game is suitable for gamblers who like to think carefully - it is not the easiest on this list, but in the end it brings a lot of pleasure from the game and fun in the process.

Yes, time is running, everything is changing, including my top, but, unfortunately, there is no more time (and how you want to have at least 30 hours in a day), so thank you very much to all those who tell me reminded me that it was time to change the top. Rolling up my sleeves, I began to bring the top up to date, and you can see what happened.

Those games that have left the top, in fact, are all the same cool games. I even felt sorry for them, because I can’t say anything bad about them. But those games that have replaced are more relevant at the moment. This is the main reason for the rotation. A game can be great, but if you don't play it for a whole year (or more), then what is this top game? Probably, this is the problem when you have a lot of games and every year there are even more of them. It turns out that you play more new games, but somehow there is no time for the old ones.

I'll go into more detail about the changes below.

Gone

nightfall

I fell in love with this game from the first time, because it offered players a different deckbuilding than in Dominion . It was interesting for me to collect chains from the moons placed in the corner of the cards. But the game always ended earlier than we would like. Yes, and by the wounds it was difficult to understand what was in the lead and who was behind.

Unfortunately, sales of the game worsened with each new addition, so the publisher AEG decided to close the project, although the author of the board game still had ideas for new additions. Now the game is almost impossible to find on sale (only if at a flea market). Those. in fact, the game threw back the skates.

I didn’t manage to pull off the last dopas, because. The game disappeared from sale very quickly. I have another untested add-on at home, but somehow not yet up to it. The good old system worked - new games win. So, as they say, the game is good, but of course it will not be in the top.

Dungeon Petz

There is no one to play with. Almost no one likes the game of those with whom I play. The Lords are also infrequently laid out, but I do this with a little more pleasure, so I will leave the Lords in the top. Pets are good too. They are cute, funny, but with my least favorite auction 😦

I really hope that someday I will find people with whom I will play Pets. And maybe even buy an add-on to the game. In the meantime, say goodbye to the game and replace it with another.

Chaos in the Old World

And it’s a pity to part with this game, too, but I don’t remember the last time I played it. This toy is so tiny. I remember playing it with one girl who, poor, suffered, because. she did not understand the scoring system and Nurgle's strategy did not work for her. Chaos in the Old World encourages love for Vakha, for various phrases, such as more blood for the god of blood. I love the game for the setting, I really like to play as the gods of Chaos and corrupt the earth.

But I haven’t laid out the game for a long time, so I’ll give a place to the younger ones. Let the old gods take a nap, then we'll wake them up somehow.

Sekigahara

This is probably my favorite wargame. It's simple, about beloved Japan, and it has cool gameplay. Perhaps the only drawback of the game is that it is not visually pop (everything in wargames is always ascetic). For example, for the “Japanese” Kanagawa, they made a bunch of cool watercolor drawings, Hanamikoji also has cool art, Tokaido’s cuteness is off the charts. BUT Sekigahara It's a normal wargame. Here is a map of the country, here are blocks with hieroglyphs - play.

In my company, the word "wargame" is afraid. I tried to show something, and it was an epic fail. Therefore, Sekigahara also goes somehow with a creak (although this is a light wargame). I want to play more, but I can't. Forced to remove the game from the top.

8 Minute Empire: Legends

I don't know how you can be indifferent to the projects of Ryan Lockit. He does not make masterpieces, of course, but very soulful games with some unusual aura. You know, it's like a piece product. Like a pie baked especially for you. Lokit's games are sometimes something strange, like Cheburashka, but quite entertaining. This is one of the coolest indie developers, and I just can't help but love him.

I somehow did not work out right away with the first Eight Minute Empire . I wrote a mediocre one about her, which HW even decided not to repost on their social networks, because they found it negative. But legends revealed in all its glory. The moment has come to admit that the continuation of the Eight Minutes is still not a fabulous masterpiece. It's a very good, enjoyable game that I still love very much. But often you don’t want to play it, and your knees no longer tremble when you choose a card from a row. There are new games, and they are also no less interesting.

Pandemic Legacy

I remember well how I hesitated whether to put this game in the top or not. I then reached somewhere only to the middle of the passage, but I felt how I was being eaten by interest to find out how it would all end. Before that, I had never played Pandemic , so the original source did not put pressure on my brains. I had to study the game immediately in combat conditions. The game has very cool components that perfectly reflect the incident light and take nice pictures. But the most important thing lies in the mysterious boxes hidden at the bottom of the box. With each new gaming month, the game changes a little. Somewhere it became more difficult, somewhere easier. If you get through month after month with ease, the game will force you to discard a few useful cards from the deck, making you nervous as you progress through the next month. I always wanted to quickly complete the mission to find out what awaits us next.

I still think Pandemic: Legacy successful and innovative game. Leacock and Davio managed to do something quite unusual for the world of board games. And the reason why I remove the game from my top is not in the game, but in the players. The game does everything to make it interesting to play, but not every player gets to the very end.

We started playing as four. Having reached the middle, spring summer seasons began, as a result of which one player budded. A couple of months later, another player gave up on the game (tired). As a result, somehow the two of us played until the game autumn, but somehow we still haven’t bothered to finish it off together with December. We cannot recruit new players, because. playing from the middle is not interesting. It's also not very cool to play together with four people. For a long time, I promised to play everything to the end and write the final review with spoilers. But the desire to play decreased with every month that we spent without pandemics . Those. the less you play, the less desire to finish the game.

Although at first the excitement was unrealistic. I really wanted to go a month to find out what awaits us in the next. I can't say that I was fascinated by the unfolding story, because I'm not a fan of that. I would like some bloody horror or sci-fi. Then there came a moment when I realized that nothing changes from my successful or failed passage, because. boxes are opened anyway. As a result, we came to such a formula - first we lose in the current month, then we win and move on to the next one. In one sitting, only, probably, 2 months passed. Going through the same scenario over and over again is not very interesting, to be honest. Moreover, in fact we are playing the same game anyway.

Heritage - this is not a bad game at all, but it needs to be played right away, when there is both desire and opportunities. This time. And two - you need to have a constant company, otherwise you will have to finish the passage alone. If you have a strong company that does not fall off due to dachas, failures and other problems, then this game can bring a lot of pleasure. It is worth slowing down, as the game turns into a soulless stone.

For these reasons, I have no desire to get acquainted with Charterstone and second season heritage . In fact, Pandemic Legacy is something like Groundhog Day with a few differences. This is stressful.

Good game, but something went wrong...

Came

Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Honestly, I did not expect that the game would be so cool. Somehow I didn’t really plan to take it, because I can’t confess my boundless love for the series of “ffgsh” games dedicated to Lovecraft’s myths. I was embarrassed that this is a cooperative and it is similar to the card LotR. I wouldn’t refuse a competitive duel (when one plays against another) for sure, but somehow I don’t even know that ...

The impetus for the purchase was the girl Maria from Minsk, in whom I noticed the game in the profile on Teser. She has already played several times and said that the game is very cool, if you close your eyes to the token random. From that moment on, I somehow immediately caught fire with the game. And even if she (the game, not Masha) in the end turns out to be worse than LotRa - it's okay, I won't be very upset.

Card UA has some problems with preparation and learning. It seems that she is so small, but it will not work to play the first game with a swoop. Read the rules a few times, brainstorm over the choice of cards for the scenario, build two decks, and only then can you play. But the first batch immediately captured me. The game is very atmospheric. LotR doesn't feel like that at all, or I just didn't read Tolkien at the time. In LotRa, you feel like a simple adventurer who needs to pull troubles out of the deck and try to overcome them by collecting small round tokens. During the loss, a fading picture appeared in my head and an inscription popped up - “ Let it be unlucky today, but if you go over the decks again, you can try to go through the scenario again". Those. The process of this game seems to me somehow mechanistic.

I played card UA a little differently. Each state card was read aloud, and I internally felt their actions. You are deafened and can't hear anything, you're in shock and can't move. You see rats and you try to control your panic. And when someone started knocking from under the floor (it was written that way in the script) and walled me up in the room (“they washed down the doors for me, right?”), I came to a real delight. It's like you're actually reading a Lovecraft story. I like this kind of horror, especially since all the secrets are not immediately revealed to you.

Welcome to the first act. It has such and such locations and approximately such and such monsters. You go through an act and you get into new game zones, and the new act card gives you new information about what happened and what needs to be done next. Therefore, the first passage of the game is always atmospheric and very interesting. Of course, going through scenarios again is not so cool, because you will already know everything. All the following attempts are already rather just stuffing a skill - but what if we take another hero? What if we increase the difficulty? Those. The game doesn't become completely useless once you've completed it. But after the starter, you obviously want not to go through it again, but to buy new stories that FFG periodically churns out. Hands reaching out for new deluxes, new packs. And I want to stretch the pleasure, and not greedily rush to the passage of new scenarios.

For me, card UA is better than card LoRa. At least one point. This is definitely one of the best FFG LCDs. I still have to meet a new Legend of the Five Rings to pinpoint the best LCD in the world. But card UA is very close to this title.

Terraforming Mars (Conquest of Mars)

Another game from which I did not expect something grandiose. I was somehow late for the first collection of money for the game, and only then, frightened that Conquest of Mars then it will not be on open sale (naive!), I quickly pre-ordered it from a store that took a pack of games in bulk. Probably, with this game, I stupidly fell for hype and advertising, because before the release of localization, the game did not interest me at all. Well, Mars (pop theme), well, there are a lot of different cards (now you won’t be surprised by this), well, plastic cubes are beautiful (so what?). At Stalls all fiery fire, must have and super class.

And if it were not for the reader of my blog, who several times asked my opinion about the game, I might not have bothered to take the box from the shelf and not try to play it until winter. And as soon as I tried it, I immediately realized how cool the unknown space distances are.

After the first game, I wanted to play more. Then more. And further. And I still want to play, because. I don’t flirt with PM to holes - I’m afraid that I’ll get bored.

Before Mars from something similar I played in Masters of Orion . But in the Masters, the interaction of cards is somehow very boring. The player cannot collect something so cool that not every other player will guess. The Masters have fairly simple abilities, often disposable. There are simple cheap dummies, there are cool expensive cards for which there are often no resources. In Mars, everything is much cooler. Almost all the cards are great there, and they have their own ideal playtime. At the beginning of the game some cards are cool, at the end others. It's not like "here's 20 cards of the same type for oxygen, here's 30 for landscaping, here's 40 for everything else." There are many different tricky and interesting maps in Mars. Moreover, the player decides by the draft method what he needs and what not.

But in addition to building chains of cards, you can go to the playing field and build cities there. And not just build, but wisely, getting for this not 1 VP, but as many as 5 (or even more).

And on top of that, I haven't tried the solo mode yet, which, judging by the reviews, is just great. I simply didn’t have a question about buying add-ons - I definitely took everything.

I am sure that this game will be stuck in my top for a long time.

Carcassonne

In the past, I often advised beginners Carcassonne . At the same time, I myself was not very familiar with this game. A couple of times I played somewhere with someone, I did not find anything special in the game. Then I played K. in a tournament and realized that the game had a huge potential and it would have to be taken seriously somehow. This "somehow" came this year when I got myself different Carcassonne , overlaid them and began to study. Then K. appeared on the BoardGameArena, and I could already play it not only live, but also on the Internet.

Played a whole bunch of games already. Because I don't count the games played, so I can't say their exact number. But a hundred, at least, for sure. I am not a professional yet, of course, I will not beat the world champion yet, but I have already mastered many tricky tricks. Before, it seemed to me that in K. you just need to draw a tile and dock it to another tile on which your meeple stands. Somehow I didn’t even think about conflict in K. At the BGA they showed me how to capture other people's roads and cities. And what is happening in the fields - words can not describe.

I found a lot of cool new tiles in small specials. Self-supporting bases showed what else a K. base can be.

This board game is very nice to play. I don't know why hardened boarders call it boring and end up selling it. I look at my stack Carcassonne , and I want to buy something else for the collection, although I understand very well that all independent sets are quite specific and no better than the main “blue” base. But still want.

This is really the kind of game that I always lay out with pleasure.

Love Letter Premium

This game was once in my top. I removed it from there only for the reason that I didn’t want to play enough of it. The game has ceased to bring surprises, because. It has a small number of characters. When you play 20 rounds in one evening, the replay value of such a game rapidly begins to fall. It's cool, it's fun, but I wanted something more.

It seems that not so long ago an extended edition of the game appeared on the BGA. At least I only noticed her there in the summer. A bunch of new characters have been added to the game, which do not replace the base ones, but are played along with them. As a result, the deck of cards has become noticeably thicker. It was interesting for me to get acquainted with the new features of the game. In absentia, I assumed that the new properties of the cards would be improved properties of the old ones, but I was wrong. The new Persians have cool unique properties that make the game even more interesting. You have to think more, because the number of twos, threes and other numbers has increased in the game. Now it's not so easy to kill someone with a guard, because. it became harder to guess. It seems that the game has become a little longer and more hardcore, but in fact it is not, because. in the extended edition, cards appeared that guarantee victory even if you lose. Those. in some ways, the rounds became longer, but more victory tokens were distributed.

I was pleased that the new cards interact differently with the old ones. There are many new tricks and tactics. A game love letter began to delight again with its minimalism and elegance. I still sometimes play BGA in it and wait for HV to print a new one secret message . For me, this edition is a real must-have. It is clear that after a certain number of games this edition will get boring, but so far it makes me very happy. Definitely top!

Pixel Tactics

PT immediately fell in love with me. Both parts published by Gaga pleased me, for which I immediately gave them high marks. True, they still did not reach the top.

The change happened when a friend came to visit me and asked me to lay out the PT, because I heard that it was a cool card game, and I kind of praised the game. I chose PT2, which I like more than PT1. The difference between me and my friend was that I more or less knew the cards, but he saw them for the first time. Pretty quickly I managed to pin him to the wall. The friend had only one move to avoid defeat. He sadly looked at his cards and analyzed the situation on the field, and in the end decided to spend the action on a set of cards. He read each drawn card for a long time and very carefully. And in the end, I discovered something very cool, which saved him from imminent death and put my victory in question. A round later, I was already hanging by a thread from death. I also got a card, which helped me a lot. As a result, we pulled the victory over to our side several times, which made me pretty happy. I really liked that game, my friend said that if he knew the cards better, then he would get more pleasure from the game. After that evening, I really wanted to blog about how the PTs rose even higher in my eyes. But I didn't write anything. =)

I really like PT as a smart tactical game. All cards are different, depending on the location on the field, their capabilities change. You have to think a lot about how best to use the cards and what actions to win back. And if you combine the two parts together, then you get a hell of a mixture. I won’t say that I play PT often, but I always do it with great pleasure. The main thing is that the opponent is experienced, and not a beginner in board games.

True, I am sure that PT will not stay in the top for a long time. At the moment, I really like the game, but something more cool and massive can easily appear, which I will like much more.

Agricola

I'm really really ashamed of how I used to scold this game. And it seemed to be for what. I wanted to play it so much 5 years ago, because. long time Agricola was on my wishlist. And then he played twice (once he went into the red, and the second time he scored a very small plus sign) and was very upset. I did not expect the game to be such a crisis. I played with experienced players who warned me about feeding, but there was no food on the field all the time, and I didn’t know how to get it in another way. In general, the first experience turned out to be lousy, so Agricole I gave a low rating and then constantly scolded her.

Terribly dull agricultural theme, crisis, a lot of action, but few points, a long gameplay - that's what it was for me Agricola . I did not understand any of the rave reviews, but did not argue with the fans of the game, because. I realized that this is not a problem of the game, but my problem. It's just not my game.

What made me change my mind? In 2013 I played stone age and since then I consider this game exemplary in terms of the placement of workers. I was very interested in what other iconic games with this mechanic are. Bought on advice Tzolk'in caused me bouts of puppyish delight. You can also watch this game in my top. On BGG, you can see the ratings of games not only by year, but also by mechanics / classifications. Worker placement has become my favorite mechanic, so I went to BGG to see what else was cool about this opera. And you know what? I immediately fell first on the list Agricola . I was very surprised that Agricola is the number 1 game in the list of worker placement games. She's... none.

But then HB offered me this game for review. I was in a very difficult position. I don't take games that I don't like in absentia. I don't see the point in writing "bad" reviews, I don't see the point in messing with games I don't like at all. True, with Agricola I met at a time when I didn’t play Eurogames at all. Things have changed in a few years, so I decided to take a chance and give the game a try. Although he himself understood that if the game did not trample, then HB would hardly say - yes, Sasha, of course write an angry review, only scold harder, do not be shy in expressions.

I took a risk and did not lose. When he figured out the rules himself (and did not play by retelling the rules of friends), when he reviewed all the cards, when he tried to understand the principle of the game without rushing anywhere, Agricola suddenly blossomed with all colors.

I really like that in Agricole with each move, the number of places on which meeples can be placed increases. Those. there are more and more tasty places and you have to think about how to develop your family, how to perform more actions than you could at the beginning of the game. There is a crisis, but when you know how to effectively feed relatives, then it becomes much easier to play. In this game, it is very important to see which cell needs to be taken faster before someone else does it. Roughly speaking, you need to see the difference in benefits between 3 sticks and 1 pig. If you don't see it, you lose.

AT Agricola I don’t want to play often, but it finally brings me pleasure =)

As you can see, the top has changed by only 6 positions. And mainly due to the fact that you play less and less old games, because. there is always something new coming up. I can't find one game and say - this is the number one game that I will play every week and post reports on it. But it seems to me that 6 games from my top will definitely stay there forever, because they are very cool =)

From what could get into the top, but for some reason did not reach:

  • Orleans . It's too early to talk about tops yet, because. The base does not fully meet my needs. But I have high hopes for the second expansion, which many boarders praise. If it really fixes the flaws in the base, then Orleans can easily get to the top;
  • alien planet . When I played before writing the review, I had a very good time at this board. It is interesting to see what the addition gives, which they have already promised to publish in Russian. If it is even more fun to play with him, then the game will have every chance to get into the top;
  • Isle of Skye . Great game, but you need to play it more to draw unambiguous conclusions. So far I really like it;
  • steel arena . This is a great project by a Russian author. Lately, I can't find players for SA, so I feel underplayed. Looking forward to the addition!
  • La Granja . I played 2 times so far, so it's too early to draw conclusions. So far the game seems to be very cool, with many development paths (everything I like). I'm not sure if it's top, but suddenly the third eye will open on the fifth installment =)
  • Bastion . The game is interesting, but I'm still waiting for the additions that Pegasov promised. I think this game needs to be developed. Add the long-promised undead, introduce new cards into the game. If there are no extras, Bastion will remain just a very good game;
  • Forbidden Stars . Game shop lately likes to say that there is no game. And I have it =) And I sometimes play it, but I want to play more. The toy is hardcore, we need good players who rarely come to visit me (or I visit them). Therefore, I decided not to put in the top game, which I play infrequently. Let it grow a little with my experience.

To be honest, I played a lot of great games this year. I don’t even know what to write about in the annual report at the end of December, because everything was very good. Even a dozen positions will not be limited =)

In general, it's good that the top is changing. This means that I do not mark time and meet something new and interesting.

The family plays a special role in the life of every person. Now, fortunately, many entertainments have been invented specifically for family leisure. Board games are especially popular, allowing you to escape from various gadgets. Interesting, challenging, emotionally charged, and genuinely entertaining are just a few of their strengths. They are able to unite all family members at one table, making them forget about their problems. Only now, every year there are more and more variations of board games, and when they come to the store, many buyers have their eyes wide open. What to choose? How to choose among the entire range exactly what everyone will like without exception? We offer in this article a selection of exciting board games that will be good entertainment for your family on a dreary autumn day.

This game is just perfect for both a friendly company and for fun entertainment with the family. It helps in the development of attention, trains the speed of reaction and teaches concentration. In addition, this entertainment in just a few minutes can cheer up even the most gloomy guest!

The rules of this game are simple, so they will be clear to any player. All participants are given funny toy mustaches on sticks. Exactly the same are depicted on the cards that are included in the set. All of them are different colors and shapes. The leader takes out one of the cards and puts it on the table. If the mustache card matches the competitor's mustache card, they must quickly slap it. The suction cup on the handle of the mustache will help to catch it. If the participant slapped his own card, then he takes it and puts it in front of him, and if it's someone else's, he returns the card back and adds two penalties from those that he managed to accumulate. When the “Turn” falls out, the players are required to exchange their mustaches: each passes his card to the neighbor on the left. If it was lucky enough to fall out the “Catch the mustache” card, then all players simultaneously try to grab it.

The winner is the participant who has collected the most cards.

Who among us did not want to become a spy for a moment, who will have to guess the secret code? With this exciting game it became possible! It perfectly diversifies the leisure time not only for gambling boys, but for the whole family! A lucky present awaits - gold coins and diamonds! Who will become the best spy and open the ill-fated box?

This board game set includes a spy stethoscope, 18 game cards, 3 diamond stickers, 15 gold coins, an alarm sticker, instructions and the safe itself.

Despite the equipment, which at first glance seems complicated, the rules of the game are simple and clear. Dip the coins inside the safe. The “fireproof cabinet” itself, by the way, looks very presentable: it is a bright red box with a door that can be locked with a combination lock. Now the participants, in turn, must choose one card with a number by scrolling the wheel of the combination lock as many times as indicated on its card. After that, the player must put his finger on a special device that scans fingerprints (included in the kit). If the correct code was entered, the safe door will open and coins will fall out of it! The light on the door will flash green. Now all that's left is to claim your reward! If the box does not open, it means that the wrong code was entered. In this case, the safe will emit an audible prompt, which the participant can only hear through the spy stethoscope. It is also included in the set. There are three types of beeps in total. The first is "Ping-Ping" (high pitch). It means that the correct number is greater than the entered one. "Boom-boom" is a barely audible sound that will tell you that the correct code will be less than the player typed. Well, the most terrible - the howl of a police siren! This means that you are out of luck, and this time you should not wait for hints from the safe ... The winner is the participant who first collects coins (5 gold or 2 with the image of diamonds).

In order for the game not to become annoying over time, its creators decided to make it three levels of difficulty at once. On the first one, all participants do not reuse cards that were already in the game. On the second, these cards are already added to one pile to those not yet used. At the last, most difficult stage, you will have to completely abandon the cards.

It is worth noting that for this board game to work, you need to purchase 3 AA batteries. You need to buy them separately from the set.

And this game will be interesting for those who are sure that they have the richest vocabulary!

This entertainment will be a great pastime among friends and family. The chances of winning the long-awaited victory here are equal for everyone - both for the child and for the parents. It all depends solely on how many words you know! The board game "Word by Word" perfectly trains ingenuity, thinking and, of course, makes the vocabulary wider and richer.

It is presented in the form of a small round panel with letter buttons. The set also includes special thematic cards with tasks (for example, names, vegetables, plants, fruits, animals). There are 36 of them in total in the set. Now the players choose one of the topics, after which everyone presses in turn on the different available platform buttons (accessible are those that were not previously pressed on the platform wheel by other players) and name the words.

The whole difficulty of the game lies in the fact that only 10 seconds are given for each move! It will not be possible to deceive anyone here - the built-in timer will notify you that the time is up. The one who could not name the word for the specified period of time leaves the game. The winner is the participant who says his answer last.

Monopoly 00009 Classic Monopoly Game

Monopoly is a game that has long been loved by millions of people around the world. She can rightfully be considered legendary. Probably, there is no person left in the world who has not heard of her. Monopoly teaches each of its players cold calculation, cunning and enterprise. Luck also plays an important role here - after all, the moves depend on how the dice are rolled. This gives the game a special mystery and unpredictability, and everyone without exception has a chance to win!

In Monopoly, participants buy and sell real estate, try on the role of a landlord, and do not forget about paying taxes. Here, everyone decides for himself whether he will buy real estate plots or they will have to be sold to other players at the Auction. It also depends on you whether you have to pay rent to rivals. By making such decisions, you are one step closer to victory or disappointment...

The task of the game is to leave all your rivals bankrupt and become the one and only owner of all property.

By the way, Monopoly is currently on sale in several versions (Road, Monopoly Millionaire, etc.). But the "classic" is still a favorite among buyers. Be part of an amazing story with Monopoly from the world famous Hasbro Corporation!

The board game "ropes and ladders" can be safely attributed to such. It's a good choice for preschoolers - bright, colorful and so easy to use!

The set includes:

✔ 60*60 cm playing field (4 puzzle pieces);
✔ 4 figures of heroes;
✔ cube;
✔ instruction.

Before starting the game, you need to complete an easy task for the development of logical and imaginative thinking: to assemble a puzzle of 4 pieces. The collected picture will become a field for the game. Now the participants have to go from the start (number "1") to the finish (number "36"). There are so many obstacles along the way!

There will be cones that carry players closer to the finish line, and flags that make them come back. Who will be the winner? The board game, by the way, will teach your kid numbers and counting in an accessible and interesting way! With such leisure, he will definitely fall in love with mathematics!

Perhaps, in each company, entertainment was popular when a sticker with some kind of inscription was stuck on the participant’s forehead, and the player had to guess what was written there. Such a game usually causes a storm of positive emotions and wild laughter! That is why it will be a great entertainment for absolutely everyone, regardless of age and profession. And what could be better than fooling around like that with the whole family? It is for such cases that this board game will come in handy more than ever!

Its rules are familiar to everyone: each player is given chips and cards with various images, which they must fix on their heads with a special hoop (included). Now each participant asks the rest a wide variety of questions related to the hidden object. They can only be answered with a simple yes or no. Carefully referring to everything said, the player must guess what is depicted on his forehead.

The game is complicated by the fact that a limited amount of time is given for each move - the hourglass will remind you to notify you when it came out. If the participant was able to guess, then he postpones his chip. The winner is the one who gets rid of their chips first.

This board game can be not only great entertainment, but also help develop logic, quick wits, attention.

Is your family one of those who can't play the same game all the time and buying a new board game every month is not possible? Then a family set of 10 board games at once is your ideal choice! It is convenient to take it with you anywhere: it does not take up much space, it is easy to fold and get. In addition, you will never get bored, because the type of game can be changed at least every hour!

A family set of 10 board games is a small plastic box. One part of it is pulled out, and on it are the fields, holes and drawings for all games. Inside the box there is a glued field for backgammon. All figures are arranged in several packages, which makes the set even more convenient to use.

The first game presented is chess. It is very popular not only in Russia, but all over the world. There are even various championships for playing chess! It uses special chess pieces, such as king, pawn, queen, rook, bishop. Each of them "walks" in a certain way. The player's task is to build a combination of pieces so that the opponent's "king" has no further possible moves. Then the participant becomes the winner.

The second game, more simple, is checkers. It seems easy, but in fact it requires the same logical effort as chess.

The same can be said about the backgammon that comes with it. They, contrary to various opinions, are not intended only for the elderly. As practice shows, representatives of all generations play with pleasure and excitement.

You can also play tic-tac-toe here. A simple game is fascinating because it does not require a lot of free time and a lot of intellectual work. If you get tired of difficult games, you can always change them to the popular tic-tac-toe.

In addition, the set also contains games that not everyone is familiar with: these are 60 Chinese checkers and a field for them. The essence of this entertainment is that you need to go through the entire playing field with checkers from one triangle to the opposite one faster than all opponents.

Also included in the set is Mancala, a two-player game. In it, the participant must alternately move all the stones from one hole to another, and, ultimately, capture more stones than the opponent!

Another logic board game for two players is the Windmill. Its rules are that you need to put all the chips in a row in order to collect the windmill, preventing the enemy from doing this.

Another, no less exciting entertainment from this set is "Pick up the sticks". There are 30 such sticks in the Spin Master set. The game will be interesting for both children and adults. Here you need to pull out one stick at a time and not touch all the others. The winner is the one with the most left.

Also included is Mind magic (ball game) and Insanity, which uses holes in a row.

In addition, two dice are included as a nice bonus. They can be used both for your invented games, and for those that come with the kit.

By purchasing this set, you can diversify your leisure time as brightly as possible, because here you can choose games for every taste!

Do you want to find out who is the most important in the family? Then identify this person with…. Cooking! And this unusual cooking game will help you with this!

Her set includes:

✔ conveyor with 2 belts,
✔ parts-ingredients for assembling hamburgers,
✔ cooking tongs,
✔ cards containing burger recipes.

Here, each participant will compete in accuracy and agility! The rules of the game are simple - you need to assemble a hamburger according to the recipe (they are indicated on the cards, given to all participants). But not everything is so simple! There are several complexities involved here. First, all this must be done with tweezers! And secondly, the burgers will move on the canvas, so the participants will have to work in an accelerated mode. For even more excitement, there are several web speeds that can be adjusted!

The winner will be the one who makes the most burgers that don't fall apart on the way to the finish line.

It is worth noting the fact that this game requires 4 AA batteries to operate. They are not included in the kit, so you need to purchase them yourself.

Down with tablets and mobile phones! The Uno Deluxe board game will be a great addition to a fun family evening. Excitement, laughter, restless thirst for victory - these are just a few of the emotions that await you with this unusual entertainment! The game is convenient, compact and does not require much space! Children love it as it is simple, interesting and really fun!

In it, all participants are dealt seven cards. Other cards are formed into a deck, and the top one remains open. During the game, each participant in turn discards a card that matches the color or shape lying on the table. If this is not in your arsenal, then you have only one way out - to take it from the common deck. When the last card remains in your hands, you need to say the symbolic “UNO”. Scoring begins after the first participant has left the game - the sum of the opponents' cards is considered. The winner must score 500 points.

And this game, no doubt, will appeal to all intellectuals! It will help you learn amazing facts about our world, broaden your horizons, introduce you closer to the culture of our country! In order to become a winner in it, you need to be comprehensively developed. After all, there are questions in several categories at once! Fight in the intellectual ring with the whole family! Find out who among you will bear the honorary title of the smartest!

Participants need to choose questions on a variety of topics (for example, history, geography, literature). If the player answered correctly, then he receives a slice-piece of a certain color depending on the category (each field of knowledge represents its own color). After collecting 6 slices of different colors, the player will face the most difficult test - the last, decisive question. If he knows the answer to it, then victory is already in his pocket!

Of course, the presented board games are radically different from each other, have different goals and rules. But, despite this, they have a lot in common: they all create a fun competitive atmosphere, help in the development of attention, logic, visual memory and imaginative thinking. And, of course, thanks to them, the whole family can gather at one table, for a moment forgetting about all their problems.

Recently, localizations of excellent board games have been released not only by large publishers, but also by enthusiasts through crowdfunding. At the same time, such publications are not inferior in quality to professional ones! And this means that in 2017 we will get even more world hits in Russian.
