Products from plastic pipes with their own. Do-it-yourself pvc pipe products for summer cottages. Plastic gazebos in the garden

Either from a desire to save money, or from an overabundance of imagination, our people have learned to benefit from those objects and things that a pedantic European would have sent to a landfill long ago. Greenhouses are built and palm trees are made, cute garden figurines are made of, and any garden furniture can be assembled from. Scraps of plastic pipes left after repair can also be used to good use. They make the simplest decorative things, beds, chairs and even greenhouses - there is a huge scope for imagination, and we have collected only the most interesting ideas for crafts from plastic pipes that can serve as a guide to action or a source of inspiration.

Pipe connection methods

Plastic pipes are like designer parts. By combining segments of different lengths and connecting them at different angles, you can get anything: a beginner will be glad that he built the simplest hanger, and a professional will easily assemble a bunk bed. The main thing is to be able to connect the pipes correctly, and then it will be possible to do any thing necessary in the household.

Plastic pipes are a collective name, and which are made from polymers. The greatest demand is and. Segments of different lengths and diameters remain after the repair of engineering networks in an apartment or in a country house, and, as a rule, they are cluttered in pantries, or rather cluttered, until enterprising craftsmen began to use them for other than their intended purpose. Plastic pipes are characterized by low weight, high strength and durability, they are easy to maintain and safe.

Polypropylene pipes are connected using a special welding machine. It is expensive - it is more profitable to rent it, and it will take a little time to learn how to work with it. You can use compression fittings to connect. In any case, the assembled product will be non-separable.

When it comes to plastic pipe crafts, usually refers to PVC pipes, which can connect with each other in the following ways:

  • socket connection with rubber seal. Manufacturers supply socket pipes with a rubber seal located at the end, thanks to which pipe connection work is carried out simply and quickly, and the joint is sealed. At the first stage, the socket of one pipe and the smooth part of the other are cleaned of dust and dirt. A chamfer is removed from the smooth end of the pipe (an angle of 15 degrees, chamfering cutters can be used) and a mark is applied indicating the depth to which the pipe will enter the socket. The sealing ring of the socket and the smooth part of the pipe are lubricated with a silicone compound and inserted one part into the other, focusing on the mark. For plumbing and sewerage, this is a good connection, but if you are assembling shelves or furniture, then it is not rigid enough. The main advantages: simplicity and the possibility of dismantling, therefore, such a connection is used for the construction of temporary buildings and things;
  • adhesive connection. The ends of the pipes to be connected are chamfered (some just sand the surface), then marks are made indicating the depth of the fitting. The ends of the pipes are degreased with methylene chloride, then the adhesive is applied with a brush to the pipe and inside the chamfer or socket. The pipe is inserted into the fitting (or socket), rotated ¼ turn for better distribution of the adhesive, then the elements can be pressed for 30-60 seconds. It is desirable to carry out all work quickly. The remaining glue is immediately removed, and the connection is allowed to dry for several hours. The process is more laborious, but the joint is more reliable;
  • flange connection. Separate sections are connected using special fittings. Before performing work, the ends of the pipes are cleaned. A flange is put on the cut, then a rubber gasket, onto which the flange is pushed. The elements are connected by means of bolts with a counter flange. Then the bolts are evenly tightened, due to which the alignment of the flanges is achieved. The connection is reliable, the design is collapsible.

When the technology for connecting plastic pipes has been mastered, we can assume that almost any craft can be done. It is only important to draw a sketch in advance or make a drawing, and correctly calculate the length of all segments. You can build anything from such parts - we will list only some ideas for crafts from plastic pipes with our own hands.

No. 1. Organizer

The most unpretentious way to use the remains of plastic pipes. You can take pipes of small and medium diameter, even segments of small length will fit. The first option is a mobile organizer. It is enough to cut segments of different heights and glue them together in an arbitrary order or following some pattern (for example, one higher segment in the center, the rest around it). Such a stand is suitable for storing stationery near the desktop or for organizing all kinds of bolts and other fasteners in the workshop.

The second option is stationary. On the one hand, the pipe must be cut at an angle (the most popular option is 45 degrees, but it can be less if small elements are stored). Then the cut elements are attached to a vertical surface using. You can mount the organizer elements on a wall or a specially installed board.

No. 2. Decorative frame or partition

Thin rings, which are easy to obtain when cutting plastic pipes, are a versatile material for creating decor. You can use pipes of different diameters - it's even more interesting. Plastic rings make a wonderful frame. It is enough to draw a layout of the future product on paper in advance and glue individual rings directly on it. From them you can get both a strict symmetrical pattern, and something chaotic. If you then paint it, then such a frame for a mirror or a picture can hardly be called a simple craft - it will be a cool designer thing.

Similarly, you can get a decorative partition. Gluing, of course, will take a little longer, but the effort is worth it. The partition will look very interesting, weigh a little and come in handy, for example, to delimit zones in the bathroom.

Number 3. Shoe rack and wine bottle holder

There are a lot of options to organize the storage of clothes using plastic pipes, and all these crafts are quite simple to implement.

No. 8. Rack for living room, hallway, pantry

By connecting several pipe sections in the required order, you can get a practical and inexpensive rack that will fully satisfy your needs in terms of size, shape and configuration. It can be both quite modest in size, and a real giant. If the rack is located in the living room, then the pipes can be painted, and glass or plywood can be used as countertops. When it comes to or a workshop, there is no particular need for decoration.

No. 9. Football goal

If the summer cottage has, then you can build a small football goal. Only a few connections will need to be made, but before that, of course, everything will have to be carefully calculated and measured. When the frame is ready, a mesh is put on it, and the gate is ready. When the kids grow up, the product can be disassembled, and the pipes can be reused to create other crafts.

Similarly, you can make a small children's playhouse. We all once loved to build huts, gather there with a company and play. It was especially cozy and mysterious. The frame for the house of pipes is made elementary. Children will only have to throw a thick fabric over it and enjoy their own little castle.

No. 10. Arena for children

There is nothing complicated in the design of the playpen. However, the finished product in the store is not cheap. A budget alternative is available to those who have a decent amount of plastic pipes in stock, the time and desire to learn how to connect individual segments into a single structure. For manufacturing, you will need a lot of pipes, so home craftsmen advise you to just buy them in a store - it will still turn out cheaper than a ready-made arena, and the pipes can then be reused.

After the arena scheme has been created with an indication of its dimensions, pipes are cut. Vertical partitions are interconnected by short horizontal sections of pipes at the top and bottom. However, variations are possible in the design of the arena.

No. 11. Chairs made of plastic pipes

Here you will need already confident skills in connecting individual pipe sections. Depending on your desire and degree of preparation, you can make a simple children's stool, as well as a comfortable chair for adults, or even an armchair. After the frame is ready, the seat is made. It can be woven from thread, rope, or use a dense fabric. Then you can put soft pillows on top. Having mastered the manufacturing technique, it will be possible to build almost all the furniture for a summer residence.

No. 12. bunk bed

Yes, it is quite possible to assemble a frame for from ordinary plastic pipes. Not only supporting elements are made of pipes, but also a ladder, and, of course, lamellas under. The level of complexity here is increased, it is better to take up the work for those who have already tried their hand at making simpler crafts. Do not neglect drawing up a drawing and scrupulous measurements.

A bed made in this way will be a real godsend for a country house of a small area, because not everyone can afford to buy a ready-made bunk bed for the dacha, but somehow it is necessary to solve the placement problem.

No. 13. garden arch

How beautiful the arches entwined with plants and flowers look in the garden. The main difficulty in making a garden arch from plastic pipes is that individual segments will have to be bent. The easiest way to give the necessary shape to the pipes is with a gas burner. A separate section is heated to a state where the material will succumb to deformation, then it is given the necessary shape. Someone decides not to bother and just connect several pipe sections at an angle. Then the upper part of the arch will resemble a trapezoid or a polygon in shape. Between the two arched vaults, horizontal elements are attached so that in the future the arch will be as much as possible covered with greenery. Do not forget to securely fix the structure in the soil.

No. 14. Alcove

Building with plastic pipes is much easier than anyone can imagine. If you take long enough segments, then you don’t even have to connect anything. Two pipes of the required length are arched and fixed to the ground. The distance between the elements of the future frame should be such that a dining table or other items fit. It remains only, and everything is ready.

The design of the gazebo may be slightly different, resembling a house in shape. In this case, you will have to connect individual elements.

No. 15. carport

The design itself is simple, but the difficulties can be associated with a decent size of the canopy, because it must be wide and high enough so that the car can safely hide under it. The frame is assembled with special care, fastened to the ground and to the adjacent wall, if any, covered with a dense awning fabric on top, which will protect the car from the scorching sun and rain. To call this product a handicraft, even the tongue does not turn - this is already a small architectural form.

No. 16. Greenhouse

A small greenhouse is done elementarily. You will need a few pipes, there will also not be very many connections. After the frame is assembled and fixed in the ground, it remains only to cover it with agrofibre. It will be possible to make such a greenhouse in just a couple of hours, and the benefits from it will be huge.

No. 17. Greenhouse made of plastic pipes

A full-fledged build, of course, is more difficult than a greenhouse. It will take a lot more material, and it will take a lot of time. The size of the greenhouse can be almost any. The procedure is as follows:

From pipes, you can make a frame for a greenhouse of almost any shape, but the arched one remains the most preferable.

No. 18. seedling containers

If in the country every square meter counts, then it's time to implement the idea of vertical gardens. Thus, it is convenient to grow greens and some berries. Scraps of plastic sewer pipes will make excellent containers if you cut holes in them in advance for seedlings and the outflow of excess water. It remains only to fill the soil containers and place the vertical beds one above the other. You can attach them again to the stand of plastic pipes. Some connect the beds with ropes and hang them from the wall - there are many options.

After carrying out any repair or construction work, there are always some surplus materials, fasteners and other building elements, however, they should not be thrown away at all. In this material, we will tell you what can be done from a plastic pipe left after installing a sewer or water pipe, if you put some imagination and a little work into the matter, as well as some useful ideas.

In what areas have PVC pipe cuttings been used?

For those who were engaged in laying and installing a water supply system from PVC pipes on their own, it became quite obvious that the process of fastening such segments is quite simple. Moreover, you can create practical and necessary crafts from PVC pipes, which will not differ in functionality from traditional ones, but they will have a modern and original design.

Even if you don’t have special woodworking equipment at your disposal, but have a fairly wide imagination, armed with a plastic cutting tool, glue and fasteners, you can create a very useful device. And if the resulting frame is ennobled with some other materials, then you can get, for example, beautiful and comfortable furniture.

In particular, to make a light chair, you need to cover the frame with fabric, and if you need to hang a shelf, you will need brackets. Be that as it may, crafts made from propylene pipes will cost you much cheaper than factory-made products.

Any homemade PVC pipe products fall into one of these categories:

  • solid - they are securely fixed with bolts and adhesive;
  • folding ones are a kind of constructs, which, if necessary, can be disassembled and assembled independently.

Collapsible home-made devices made of PVC pipes are often classified as seasonal items. In principle, it can be any product - from folding chairs, garden tools and decor, to arbors, canopies that can be used in the summer, country or country holidays and disassembled for storage for the winter.

If you take ready-made ideas into service, you can get quite presentable homemade products from polypropylene pipes with your own hands. They are not only practical and beautiful, but also durable, and do not pose a threat to human health and the environment.

It should also be noted that, due to the availability of plastic pipes, in case of detection of breakages or defects in the product, the damaged fragment can always be replaced with a new one of the same diameter. In any case, such repairs will cost less than buying new furniture.

Making country crafts from plastic pipes has many positive aspects:

  • plastic does not need regular staining, although it is quite possible to decorate it with color;
  • disassembled, home-made structures are very compact - for example, a carport or a children's bed will neatly fit on a balcony or in a closet until spring;
  • when heated, the polypropylene profile does not emit toxic substances, so it can be successfully used in the country in the summer;
  • products made from this material have a sufficiently high level of strength;
  • due to the variety of sizes of plastic pipes, you can make a variety of crafts, and fasteners - couplings, fittings - can always be found on sale;
  • do-it-yourself sewer pipe crafts are not only room for imagination and skill, but also an opportunity to create unique items for gifts to family and friends.

Of course, many children and adults will like original children's furniture, such as small chairs or even quite full-fledged chairs. In the country, such products will organically fit into the surroundings, because they are beautiful and light, easy to use. A do-it-yourself hanger made of PVC pipes, or a shelf for dishes, indoor flowers or books, will only complement the resulting interior.

The characteristics of polypropylene pipes allow them to be used not only for plumbing or sewerage, but also for the manufacture of seemingly unexpected items. So, by combining several pieces of the profile, an electric cartridge and a cord, you can make a beautiful lamp.

From white PVC pipes, you will get such types of lamps as:

  • floor lamps;
  • desk lamp;
  • chandeliers with lampshades.

However, before starting work, we advise you to take care of the availability of all necessary materials and tools in advance. If you still have pipe sections after repair or your friends gave them to you, then couplings and fittings of a suitable diameter, most likely, need to be purchased. In addition, you will need a tape measure, felt-tip pen, drill, glue and screws. You also need to consider how you will bend the pipes. You may need other auxiliary materials for a number of crafts.

Examples of crafts from PVC pipes for the home

From the polypropylene pipes remaining after the construction in a city apartment, you can make many useful gizmos.

Shoe shelves made of plastic profile

In the hallway of an apartment or house, there is always the problem of compact shoe storage. Such a shelf can be made of plastic, having determined its dimensions according to the parameters of the hallway.

The shoe rack can be made in 2 types:

  • with short crossbars from which the heel sags;
  • for the full width of the shoe.

Connecting elements can be done with:

  • couplings planted on glue;
  • bolts;
  • self-tapping screws.

To get wide shelves, you can use:

  • scraps of laminated panels;
  • plastic;
  • pieces of plywood, optionally decorated with color.

Standing coat rack

A do-it-yourself hanger made of plastic pipes should be strong and stable. For these purposes, it is better to use pipes of medium diameter. Additional rigidity of the central axis can be given by inserting a wooden tool holder or a metal rod into it. It will not allow the hanger to sag under the weight of clothes.

The base that provides stability can be made in the form of a cross or wide struts in the form of a triangle. But buy ready-made hooks, quite long. You need to screw them with bolts, placing them in pairs on both sides of the pipe.

For a wall hanger, you will have to perform a slightly different design, however, if the family is large enough, then both options will be very useful at the same time.

Stands for flowers and planters

Stand in the form of a shelf made of PVC pipes can be made free-standing or wall-mounted. In this case, you will need pieces of glass or thin sheets of plywood. However, it is undesirable that water from a pot gets on such a stand - stains and stains will remain.

Table vase and organizer for small items

From short pieces of pipe, you can make convenient cups for small items on your desk. And if you want to make a wall-mounted flower vase, you can use halves of wide sewer pipes.

By adding decor in your favorite color, as well as gold or silver plating, you can get a truly unique product. When inserting the plastic bottom of the vase, the seam must be worked out with silicone for tightness.

crafts for animals

From pipes you can make not only an aviary for your favorite parrots, but also labyrinths for cats, a bed for a dog, as well as many other frame-type products for pets. A grid is placed around the aviary, having previously provided a door.

A suitable place for an aviary may be:

  • hallway;
  • space under the stairs;
  • secluded niche;
  • dead end corridor.

So that a domestic cat can exercise and be in good shape, you can build a special labyrinth for it by wrapping pieces of a pipe with a rope planted on glue. And for a dog, you can build a comfortable bed by simply upholstering a plastic frame on short stands with a piece of dense fabric.

Children's furniture

For a table and chair, in addition to pipes, you will need soft upholstery with foam rubber for sitting and a piece of laminate for the tabletop. It is necessary to take care of reliable fixation of the legs, as well as calculate the height of the chair that is comfortable for the child.

From plastic pipes, you can make a crib, and even a playpen. They are quite safe for the child and quite acceptable for creating children's furniture (read: ""). For convenience, you can use the standard sizes of factory products.

Please note that despite the safety of PVC, all handrails need to be disinfected as children love to lick everything.

A variety of shapes and diameters of PVC pipes allows you to create a truly original decor in the apartment.

In particular, they also make such crafts from sewer pipes, such as:

  • laundry dryer;
  • frame for a basket for dirty laundry or a box for household waste;
  • baskets and niches for tools and small accessories;
  • bookcases for books, small computer equipment or mirrors;
  • cases for sharp objects, such as kitchen knives;
  • gift crafts;
  • screens and screens for delimiting areas of the room.

What can be done from PVC pipes to the country

Greenhouses and greenhouses

To make a greenhouse out of lightweight plastic and cover it with a film - many gardeners will like this idea, because this is a very necessary building in the country.

In addition, you will need:

  • rolled transparent slate;
  • durable polyethylene film;
  • solar-permeable polymeric materials.

The entrance at the end of the greenhouse can be equipped with a light door or a silicone curtain made of strips. Such a design is temporary - it is mounted in the spring, and assembled for the winter and hidden in a barn (read also: ""). This is convenient because, if desired, you can move the greenhouse to any other place near the path. In addition, there is no need to fill in the capital foundation, because the structure is very light.

Vineyard arches and gazebos

From the remnants of plastic pipes, you can build a convenient frame for climbing plants, such as grapes or climbing roses. It both looks beautiful and the plant feels good.

Alternatively, you can make a summer gazebo for gatherings with tea from the same white PVC pipes. If you plant climbing plants around it, they will gradually fill the entire space of the lattice, creating a cozy shade and coolness. Since plastic is easily bent, it can be built into any shape, just like metal or wood. And the gazebo will organically complement the garden exterior.

Stands and shelves for seedlings and flowers

To save space in a house where a lot of seedlings are grown, it can be placed in several tiers on a bookcase made of polypropylene pipes. It is only necessary to provide additional lighting by fixing it directly on the rack. After a while, the position of the spotlights will need to be changed so that the sprouts are strong and even.

In the summer, blooming annuals can be placed on such a rack in the garden, which will give a bright accent to the overall decor.

Devices for vertical cultivation of plants

You can make a structure for vertical planting strawberries from large diameter pipes by drilling holes at an equal distance for symmetry. Other structures are also relevant in the country, for example, hedges or all kinds of hydroponic structures, which will significantly save space if the site is small, and also eliminate the need for frequent weeding weeding of berries.

Frames for hydroponic growing of plants in winter can be placed in an apartment, organizing an analogue of a winter garden.

Car awnings

In the country, a problem often arises, where to park the car so that it does not overheat in the sun and does not get wet in the rain. This design can be made from PVC pipes. It is light, aesthetic and quite reliable. On top of the frame, you only need to stretch a camouflage net or flexible slate.

Country furniture

For a summer residence, you can make not only a sofa swing from PVC pipes with your own hands, but also a lot of other garden furniture, on which you can relax after a hard day in the garden. For example, a very original solution would be a plastic cart for delivering products to a barbecue or barbecue. It is advisable to make all garden furniture in one color scheme so that it is not too motley.

To combine the design, it is better to choose some common material for:

  • seat upholstery of chairs and armchairs;
  • countertops;
  • covering awnings.

shower cabin

On the site in the summer it is quite possible to build a shower. Its basis will be the same PVC pipe, which can be disassembled and folded in a secluded place for the winter. On top of the cabin, you need to fix a container for heating water from the sun, and in the gaps between the frame grating, stretch an opaque material. Inside the booth, you can make an impromptu heated towel rail.

children's house

But the children will really like the canopy equipped for them, where you can hide and play interesting games. Such an awning can be made permanent or portable so that parents can keep an eye on the kids.

In addition, very handy in the country will be such structures made of plastic pipes, such as:

  • bicycle parking;
  • a place to store tools;
  • fencing for the site, which does not need frequent repairs;
  • aviary for dogs;
  • portable summer house;
  • thick film pool structure with sun lounger.

Thus, do-it-yourself crafts for home and summer cottages will delight you not only with their appearance, originality and economy, but also with the ease of assembly and the availability of materials. In addition, you can unleash your creativity and, at the same time, do something useful.

PVC pipes are the best option not only for plumbing, but also for making DIY crafts. How often does it happen after repairs that there are several segments that are a pity to throw away, and so they lie at home or in the country and wait in the wings? This situation is familiar to many, so we free up space and create original crafts from pipes for our house and plot.

Pipe connection options

Plastic pipes are a generic name for products for creating a plumbing, sewerage and heating system, which are made from various polymers, most often PVC or polypropylene. Such pipes differ in a lot of advantages, including high strength, lightness, durability, safety and ease of maintenance.

In order to carry out crafts of such a plan, it is important to know how to connect their individual parts to form the intended design. Polypropylene pipes are interconnected using a welding machine, which is very expensive, so renting it is the best option. But you still need to learn how to work with such a device, so fittings are more often used for these purposes.

If we talk about plastic pipes, then most often they mean PVC products, which are connected by such options:

After familiarizing yourself with the technology of connecting plastic pipes, you can perform any craft. It is only important to initially draw a sketch of what you want to get in the end, indicating all the dimensions and design elements of the craft.

On your own, you can create unique crafts from pipes that will delight the owner with their appearance and practicality, and to a greater extent surprise guests.

Organizer

This craft is the easiest way to use plastic pipes. If there are only small pipe cuts, then they will fit perfectly into the overall idea. To make a mobile organizer, you just need to glue pipe sections of the right size together in the intended sequence and decorate the structure. This storage option will always keep the workplace in order.

The second option for a craft organizer is a stationary one. In this case, the craft blank is mounted on a horizontal surface or wall. This is how you get niches for various little things, created with your own hands from pipes.

Frame or room divider

If there is a desire to decorate the wall of the house with a mirror, but it does not have a suitable frame, it is not necessary to spend money on buying a new one. To perform, you will need to cut pipes of different diameters into thin rings. On paper, you need to draw a layout of the future craft in real size and collect it directly on it from pipe scraps. You can create both a strict geometric frame and a set of randomly scattered rings. As a result, the resulting pipe craft can be painted in the desired shade or decorated, depending on the owner's imagination.

Thus, it is easy to create a decorative partition from pipes, which can decorate not only the interior of the house, but also the suburban area. Efforts, of course, will have to make more, but they are worth it.

Shoe rack or wine rack

The situation with a bunch of shoes in the corner of the hallway is familiar to many, but there is not always a place to install a full-fledged shoe cabinet. In this case, you can dream up and make a craft-shoe rack made of plastic pipes. To do this, you will need to take pieces of pipe with a diameter sufficient to fit a pair of shoes, and cut them into pieces about 30 cm long.

Important! It is best to connect the components of the craft with self-tapping screws, so that the design is as reliable and durable as possible.

The assembled product must be fixed on the wall to prevent falling. Such a shoe rack is compact and in appearance is no worse than purchased organizers for shoes.

This technology can be applied to the construction of bathroom shelves, a wine bottle holder and even a place to place children's toys.

Vases and planters

From scraps of sewer pipes, you can make craft pots that are perfect for planting flowers in them and placing them in a summer cottage. If you first attach the bottom to the blanks, for example, from a plastic bucket, or simply provide them with a stand, then you can even put such pots indoors.

Crafts-vases made of pipes of small diameter look stylish. When placing several blanks of different heights, decorated using the decoupage technique, you get a spectacular place for cut plants.

Stands and shelves

If a country house or garage needs to be equipped, then creating PVC pipe shelves will be an excellent alternative to buying massive wooden products. To form this kind of crafts from pipes, you will need to connect the segments in a certain sequence.

So, snake-shaped shelves are suitable for storing books and photo albums. It is also convenient to hang clothes or towels on them.

Crafts-stands for flowers look no less creative. In the manufacturing process, special attention is paid to the places of fixing parts to each other and the reliability of the structure. You will also additionally need pieces of plywood or other material to make countertops in fake pipes.

garden arch

Such products, entwined with plants, look sophisticated and elegant on the site. They are able to decorate even any celebration. For example, if you decorate such an arch with satin ribbons, flowers, tulle, then this will be an excellent decoration for an outdoor wedding ceremony or photo shoot. And making crafts does not take much time.

There are many options for arches, so the design of the craft is selected in accordance with the wishes of the master. The main difficulty in the formation of this craft is the need to bend some parts of the pipes. The easiest way to do this is to slightly heat the desired section of the pipe with a gas burner.

If this is not possible, then the connection of pipes for crafts is carried out simply at an angle. In this case, a trapezoid or a triangle is formed. They make an arch with two vaults so that there are transverse elements between them, which during operation will help the greenery to be distributed over the entire surface of this craft.

Alcove

Not only small products can be made from pipes. For example, a gazebo made of this material will be an excellent option to complement the resting place. To do this, you need to take long segments, form arcs from them and fix them in the ground. A dense awning fabric is stretched between them as a roof, and in the interior space a dining table or a bench for relaxation is installed. So, without spending extra time and money, you can create a masterpiece gazebo that will save you from the summer heat.

Advice! You can connect the elements of the craft so that you get a house. This is also an interesting version of a large PVC pipe craft.

Plant containers

If the summer cottage does not have a sufficient area, then vertical plantings are the best option for saving space. In this way, it is easy to grow greens, flowers, and even some varieties of berries.

To do this, you need to form a semblance of oblong flower pots from sewer pipes. You can get them by making holes along the craft and leaving enough space for the soil and plants. At the bottom of each craft, holes are made for the outflow of water. It is convenient to mount such planters on a pre-prepared wooden stand, directly on a wall or on a fence. If you connect these beds with a thick rope, you get a single structure that can simply be hung.

Lamp

Interesting DIY crafts are suitable for modern interiors. One of these interior details can be a lamp made of plastic pipes. The product can be of completely different shapes, the main thing is the correct connection and the ability to connect electricity for crafts. It is worth taking on the formation of such crafts only if you have skills in working with electricity.

It is not even necessary to connect the elements of the craft with each other. If you take pipe sections of different lengths and cut holes of different configurations on them, you will get a unique lamp that will leave fancy patterns on the walls.

Coffee table

If you want to arrange a garden area or update the furniture of the veranda, plastic pipes can also become the base material. It is not difficult to make a coffee table from them. First of all, they draw a draft of the future crafts and, following it, form the frame of the table. It can be different, both assembled from many parts, and representing several segments mounted on a stand.

As a countertop for crafts, as a rule, glass or a sheet of plywood is used. Decorate it as you wish. The glass top looks spectacular and stylish, but it will need to be additionally fixed to the frame.

Conclusion

Crafts from pipes are a unique way to design not only a summer cottage, but even at home. There are many interesting ideas that deserve attention. If you spend a little time and effort, you can get almost anything from plastic plumbing or sewer products.

Crafts from polypropylene pipes or LEGO for adults

One day I was watching kids building towers out of LEGO bricks with polypropylene blocks next to them. pipes and fittings that remained superfluous after arranging the water supply in the house. And then an amazing idea came to me: why not use them as parts of an “adult” constructor and make useful products out of them? Having started to create, I got carried away to such an extent that I had to buy more materials, and read on about what came of it.

Motivation

I note that using plastic pipes to assemble various functional structures is far from my invention. People everywhere have long and quite successfully followed this trend, not limited to the use of such a wonderful material for the installation of pipelines alone.

But I want to tell you about what exactly prompted me to take this step, in addition to the type of children playing described above:

  • Low price implementation. Polypropylene pipes are relatively inexpensive, and besides, you may have a surplus of them after laying communication systems at home, which still have nowhere to go. Even more than that, already used samples are quite suitable for the implementation of many ideas;
  • No toxic secretions, which allows you to also design crafts for children without fear for their health;
  • Simplicity and high assembly speed. The ease of installation work when installing a polypropylene pipeline is well known, and here you can also do without soldering, since there is no need to maintain high tightness of the joints. By the way, this also makes it possible to carry out quick dismantling without causing damage to the structure itself;
  • Attractive appearance. White color, correct forms, which can be changed if desired, all this has a positive effect on the final appearance of the manufactured product. Usually, at the end of the work, it does not even need to be painted;

  • No corrosive processes. You can not only build street structures, but even assemble, for example, a raft, since neither rain nor direct constant contact with water will negatively affect plastic in any way;
  • Good strength properties. The walls of plastic pipes are thick enough to withstand the pressure in water supply systems, and structures made from them are sufficiently resistant to any mechanical stress;
  • Little weight, which gives the finished object mobility, and also makes the assembly process even more accessible;
  • Long service life, which is at least half a century.

An impressive list of advantages, which I personally supplemented for myself with the opportunity to once again feel like a little child creating “castles in the air”, turned out to be convincing enough to get down to business without delay.

Constructor games

Greenhouse

It is difficult to call a greenhouse just a craft; rather, it is already almost a building. But, nevertheless, plastic pipes do an excellent job with its construction. The finished arched structure will decorate the site and will provide you with invaluable assistance in growing many types of crops. In general, every gardener will understand what this is about, right there I want to describe the features of the installation process itself.

That such a building is not suitable for year-round operation, since it will not withstand harsh winter weather conditions. So limit yourself better to the spring-autumn period.

The main elements of the structure:

Construction instructions:

  1. For starters, I made an elementary drawing, in which he noted the most important parameters of the future structure:
    • Length - 5 m;
    • Width - 3 m;
    • Number of arches - 6;
    • The distance between the arches is 1 m;
  1. Leveled the surface selected area;
  2. Marked pipes 25 mm diameter and cut them to:
    • 10 meter lengths for lateral elongated sides;
    • One three-meter segment under the back wall;
    • 2 x 110 cm and one 80 cm in order to create a passage on the front side;
    • 12 three-meter - to create arches;
    • One six-meter fragment, which will become a rib connecting the top of the arches;

  1. Now connected all the pieces around the perimeter, except for those prepared for arches, using couplings in the form of crosses, so that a through hole is obtained at the place of each docking. For corners I used similar swivel fittings;

  1. I drove thin metal rods into the holes so that they fit snugly into the ground, but at the same time they rise somewhere else by 15 cm above the laid out plastic frame. With their help, it will be possible to securely fix the structure in one place and strengthen its base;
  2. Now, in these same holes, only already planting on steel rods, I inserted pipes of arches;
  3. From above I have them also connected with crosses, into which then passed a six-meter pipe as a stiffener;
  4. Installed the frame. For greater convenience, you can even build a door, but since not for the whole year, I got by with just a dense, retractable curtain made of film;
  5. In all joints of fittings with pipes screw in short screws;
  6. I covered the finished "skeleton" with a film. Polycarbonate is also well suited for this purpose.

As a result, I got an excellent summer greenhouse, which I safely dismantled in the fall and hid in the hozblok until next spring.

Onion

This idea will appeal not only to children, but also to adults, since the finished bow will have a fairly high lethal force. Personally, as a lover of medieval themes, I was very pleased with the opportunity to recreate such a bright representative of it.

Main elements of the product:

Implementation process:

  1. I took a half-meter piece of pipe, marked the center on it, from which I then retreated 50 mm in both directions, where I made marks;
  2. Then warmed up one side to the marked place with the help of the building until it becomes pliable. You can, of course, use other methods of melting, but I consider this the most convenient and safe, since the presence of an open flame is excluded;

  1. Soft plastic with the help of two planks I squeezed so that the edge of the pipe becomes a semicircular flattened shape, and closer to the center it expands again;
  2. I did a similar manipulation with the second side;
  3. Then also warmed up the still untouched middle and, while it is soft, but not scalding, he grabbed and squeezed it with his hand, forming a comfortable handle;
  4. Now reheated the edges and pushed them back;
  5. After the plastic has hardened again, made slits under the bowstring, put it on and, with childish delight, fired the first shot with an arrow prepared in advance.

Hanger

This simple and at the same time incredibly useful household item has many options for execution from the material in question. Depending on your imagination and what you want to get in the final form, you can assemble either such a complex structure as in the photo, or a floor structure with a stand, but I will describe to you the simplest and easiest option that I used myself:

  1. I took a meter piece of polypropylene pipe and cut it into three pieces:
    • One is 400 mm long;
    • Two 300 mm long;
  1. Passed through the resulting plastic cylinders piece of rope, folded them in the shape of a triangle and tied together the protruding rope ends;

  1. Outgoing rope edge tied to a metal hook, borrowed from an old broken hanger.

Chair

I will not indicate the dimensions, since using a similar technology you can make both a children's and an "adult" chair or stool. So it’s better to remove the linear parameters from the usual purchased sample and already be guided by them. I also note that in a similar way you can build a table or even a small single bed.

The assembly instruction looks like this:

  1. First of all, as in the above options, I marked the pipes, in accordance with the dimensions taken, after which he cut them into the necessary pieces;
  2. Then he took the cross, which later will be under the seat and soldered four short pieces to it leading to the legs. Instead of soldering, you can use glue, while self-tapping screws will not look aesthetically pleasing, but it is necessary to strengthen all joints, since the product must continue to withstand the entire child or adult body. A little about soldering technology:
    • We put the soldering iron on a level place, fasten the mandrel and the sleeve of the required sizes, set the thermostat to 260 degrees Celsius, plug the plug into the socket and switch the power switch to the working position;
    • After the nozzles are properly heated, we install the edge of the pipe and the corresponding coupling in them;

    • We wait a few seconds, after which we remove the products and strictly at an angle of ninety degrees we join them and now we are waiting for solidification;

  1. On the free edges of the tubes, I welded a tee;

  1. I attached legs to the lower holes, into the lower ends of which I inserted plugs;
  2. Assembled two handrails:
    • Welded to the corresponding tubes on one side along the turn, and on the other along the tee;

    • To fittings that go out in one direction, soldered another short segment;
  1. The resulting products installed on the sides the prepared structure on top of its legs so that the edges with the crosses are on the back side, where the back is planned;
  2. Collected the back:
    • I took the tube corresponding to its top and welded it to both ends along the turn;
    • I attached segments half the length of the back to the turns;
    • I soldered tees to their edges, which, in turn, connected with another tube, thereby creating a stiffener. Several can be made depending on the size of the chair;
    • With two more lengths in the second half of the back, I attached the resulting polypropylene rectangle to the crosses of the railing;
  1. I screwed pieces of plywood to the seat and back with self-tapping screws, which I then upholstered with foam rubber and sheathed with fabric.

If we complicate the design using a similar assembly technology, then, as I noted above, even a bed can be obtained:

Organizer

Here is another incredibly simple and original method for using plastic pipes:

  1. From the remains of pipes of different diameters cut a few neat pieces so that one of their sides is beveled at the same angle. At the same time, I chose the length for each in accordance with the stationery, for example, for pens and pencils more, and for a smaller scraper;
  2. Cleaned up all the edges with a file. This was especially necessary for pieces with a large cross section, which had to be cut with a hacksaw, and not with scissors;

  1. Then he put them on a flat surface in a "flock", but so that all the bevels were turned in one direction, and glued all adjoining walls.

The same method turned out to be an excellent organizer for the bathroom, only here I no longer began to make oblique edges:

I would also like to note that with the help of a similar technology, that is, by gluing the tubes to each other with walls, you can create strikingly beautiful pieces of furniture in a modern original style, as shown in the following photo:

Table lamp

First thing here I took care of the electrical part:

  1. Dismantled an old lamp and took out the inner part from it: wires, switch and base;
  2. Cut some pipes and prepared fittings according to the creative idea;
  3. The edge of one of the segments was smeared with glue and put a plinth in it, after passing through the inside of the wire;
  4. Then assembled the body of the lamp which can take the most unexpected form. Here are some ideas as examples:
    • Robot. My daughter was simply delighted with such an idea, although I had to tinker with the design:

    • Snake. If you want something simpler, but just as unusual, then by connecting the tubes with different swivel fittings, you can get a very pretty reptile:

    • Alien life form. If, on the contrary, you want to unfold with might and main in your creative impulse, and you have time for this, then you can even build a very unusual alien:

  1. I connected the switch and the cord with the plug, after which the work was completed.

Ideas waiting to be realized

And I have not yet managed to make these products from polypropylene pipes with my own hands:

  • Shelves. The progress of the work also involves the use of a soldering iron, as in the case of creating chairs, beds and tables, but you will also need a puncher with dowels to fix the structures to the walls, as well as acrylic paints to give a more harmonious appearance with the rest of the interior. You can come up with any forms;

  • solar collector. A great way to save the cost of heating water in a country house in the summer;

  • fencing. It can be, like a fence installed around the perimeter of the cottage, or a small fence for a flower bed;

  • Swing. Here it is already better to stock up on pipes of a larger diameter than those that I considered earlier. There are also implementation options here, because it can be a small hanging seat for a child, or maybe a full-fledged garden swing in the form of a sofa, which I especially like, since purchased metal models are quite expensive;

  • Removable car trunk. Yes, yes, even your car can be improved with plastic cylindrical products;

  • Swimming pool. Of course, here, as in the case of a greenhouse, a suitable sheathing will also be required, but it is absolutely not difficult to assemble a rectangular or round frame from the material in question;

  • Sled. It is possible to design not only those objects that are used in summer or indoors, but also those that are suitable for winter conditions. So, for example, your child will be incredibly happy with a cute, comfortable and light snowmobile vehicle suitable for dizzying descents from the hills;

  • Clothes dryer. In addition, you can make it multi-level and collapsible for more convenient and multifunctional operation;

  • Trash can. It is enough to create a small frame for a garbage bag;

  • Notebook Stand. If you need your computer to be tilted rather than horizontal, then a few plastic tubes connected in a certain way will solve this problem;

  • Decorative partitions. Rings cut from polypropylene pipes and glued together by walls can perfectly zone the room.

Conclusion

In "LEGO" you can play as an adult. Only instead of multi-colored cubes, then it is worth using polypropylene pipes and fittings. This will not only satisfy your thirst for design, but also allow you to acquire interesting, original, functional, practical and inexpensive things that your loved ones will appreciate. Turn on your imagination and get down to business!

With skill and a rich imagination, interesting and useful things can be made from any materials at hand, including plastic pipes.

Plastic pipes of different diameters are sold at any hardware store at very affordable prices. They are used in plumbing, sewerage, heating, irrigation systems, and after construction or repair, unnecessary trimming often clogs the site, while it can serve as an excellent material for creative crafts.

Do not rush to take construction waste to the landfill - we will tell you what can be done from a plastic pipe to turn excess residue into beautiful and functional interior items.

What is good plastic pipe?

We will not talk about the direct purpose of the product, but about the convenience of using varieties of plastic pipes precisely as a material for crafts. Plastic pipes are light weight, strong and durable enough. They are resistant to dirt, do not collect dust and are easy to clean. Products made of plastic pipes are safe to use even by small children (they do not break, do not have a heavy weight, do not emit toxins).

For creative work, PVC pipes are more often used, which are quite rigid and easily connected with special nozzles and "adapters", allowing you to get collapsible structures. Polypropylene pipes can also be used, but their connection will require a special welding machine or compression fittings, and finished products can no longer be disassembled.

Methods for connecting pipes in structures

From plastic pipes, you can make not only convenient household items, but also pieces of furniture. In order for such a home-made product to last a long time and be reliable in operation, care must be taken to properly connect the individual segments. Since it has already been said about the connection of polypropylene pipes, we will consider the connection of only PVC pipes.

PVC plastic pipes can be connected in the following ways:

  • in a bell with a rubber seal;
  • with the help of an adhesive composition;
  • bolts by drilling holes.

The first connection method is characterized by simplicity, but insufficient rigidity. Before joining, it is recommended to clean the internal and external surfaces of the pipes at the joint from dust particles and treat the inserted part of the pipe with silicone grease. First, the pipe is inserted into the socket until it stops, after which it is carefully pulled back by 0.7 - 1 cm. The structures assembled in this way can later be dismantled, which is convenient for seasonal products.

The second method of assembling pipes is distinguished by reliable fixation and greater labor intensity. Work on connecting parts begins with the processing of the mating surfaces of the socket and pipe with sandpaper for better adhesion. Then they must be degreased with methylene chloride. The adhesive composition is applied along the entire length of the prepared outer surface of the pipe and 2/3 of the length of the inner surface of the socket. Finally, the pipe is inserted into the socket until it stops and rotated a quarter of a turn. For gluing, it is required to press the parts for 1 minute. For good fixation, all operations to connect two segments must be carried out quickly enough. The connected elements are left for several hours until the adhesive composition dries completely.

The third method is more time consuming, as it requires marking and preparing holes, but allows you to get collapsible structures with a reliable connection.

For corner joints and connecting several segments at once in one node, it is convenient to use a variety of fittings. Plastic pipe structures can be of any complexity using numerous tees and fittings. Consider useful homemade products in order of increasing complexity of execution.

Original and functional little things for decorating the interior

Our review of interesting ideas is opened by the simplest products from a plastic pipe, which even novice masters of homemade art can make. In addition, such crafts require a minimum amount of material, and in some cases even the shortest trimmings can be used.

From scraps of pipes of large and medium diameter, you can make a convenient and practical organizer for your office or workshop.

There are two options available here:

  • fastening with self-tapping screws to a wall or table, for which one end of the segment is cut off at an angle - a stationary option;
  • gluing the segments together to form a stable figure is a portable option.

The segments can be left white or gray, or you can paint it in your favorite color. Such an organizer is indispensable for schoolchildren and people involved in creativity and needlework. With him, everything will always be at hand, and on the table - the perfect order.

Additional comfort on the desktop will be provided by a drawing tablet and a laptop stand, which can be made from small-diameter polypropylene pipes.

Bookshelves are a special element of the interior. Their presence in a certain way characterizes the landlord. High-tech style corner shelf will not go unnoticed.

From numerous short cuts of different diameters, you can make a patterned frame for a mirror or photograph. It is enough to glue the cut rings according to a pre-prepared layout, which can be applied to a sheet of cardboard. It can be floral patterns or something abstract. The dimensions of the frame will depend on the amount of suitable material.

Scraps of large diameter can be used to create a comfortable shoe shelf with numerous compartments-cells. This design will not take up much space in the corridor and will ensure proper storage of shoes and a quick search for the right pair. The elements are connected using glue or self-tapping screws. To fix the shelf on the wall, you can use a plywood sheet, to which the assembled shelf is first glued.

Some crafts made from PVC pipes will really appeal to lovers of fresh flowers. A reliable flower stand is simple in execution and looks pretty.

For the manufacture of flower pots for transplanting or breeding pets, small pieces of sewer pipes are well suited. Having shown imagination, such pots can be decorated with colored paper, paint or bright stickers.

It is easy to make a stylish vase for artificial flowers and dried flowers from elongated cylinders of medium diameter. If you approach the implementation of this idea creatively, then an original gift for a significant event can come out.

Another extraordinary idea for the interior is homemade techno-style lamps. There are a lot of execution options, but they all adhere to the principle of minimalism: no unnecessary details.

With the help of unused scraps, you can also make useful things in the hallway or corridor: a hanger for clothes and bags and a holder for garbage bags.

Crafts from plastic pipes for the playground

From PVC pipes, you can make a lot of crafts for children's entertainment in the yard: a developmental rug, an arena, a swing, a sled, a football goal, a playhouse, an outdoor shower and a theater screen.

A very useful design for kids is a playpen made of PVC pipes.

Kids will love the lightweight swing that dries instantly after a warm summer rain.

In winter walks, homemade sleds will be the most reliable and fastest. The design is quite complicated, but with the help of practical videos you can figure it out.

For active games in the yard, safe football goals can be made from the remnants of plastic pipes.

Many children often dream of their castle in miniature. Making your childhood dreams come true is quite simple and not at all expensive. The frame is done very quickly. It remains to pick up a beautiful dense material for the roof and walls, and the house is ready!

The following structure will help to freshen up on a hot summer day. Such an open shower will be a joy not only for children, but also for adults.

From polypropylene pipes you can make a theatrical screen. It is enough to collect 3 frames, connect them together and close them with beautifully designed curtains. The home theater develops the creative abilities of children and creates good conditions for an exciting pastime.

We update the interior economically: furniture made of plastic pipes

Crafts from plastic pipes with their own hands can occupy a key place in the interior. Craftsmen share many extraordinary solutions that can significantly save the family budget. Let's highlight the brightest of them.

The most common and sought after piece of furniture is a chair. Using pieces of plastic pipes and connecting elements, you can make high-quality chairs of various types: children's chairs, folding chairs for hiking and fishing, armchairs and even high chairs.

Having mastered the assembly technique a little, you can proceed to more complex structures. A neat bunk crib made of polypropylene pipes is a good alternative for a country house or a summer cottage, when buying a ready-made crib is too expensive. Moreover, when the kids grow up, the material can be used to make other useful crafts.

The glass coffee table with a PVC pipe base in the next photo can hardly be called an amateur homemade product, because it looks like a design work.

Another original idea is a shelving unit for a hallway or living room. Having independently designed a rack with the right number of shelves of the required size, you can not waste time shopping in search of something suitable.

Useful crafts for a country house and a summer residence

Unused and superfluous building materials will definitely find application in the summer cottage. Crafts from plastic pipes for summer cottages will significantly facilitate garden work, make your stay more comfortable and help you avoid high material costs. At the same time, the designs look neat and stylish.

From small lengths and a few tees, you can get a nice dryer for clothes and towels. It is easy to clean and does not corrode.

Relaxing by the pool or in the shade of the garden is impossible to imagine without a sun lounger. The photo shows a chaise lounge, completely consisting of plastic pipes, but can also be combined with dense matter.

A carport is another useful application of PVC pipes. It will protect transport not only from a rain, but also from the scorching summer sun.

For garden decor, a garden arch is often used, which can also be made of plastic pipes. A new element appears in its design - bent arcs. You can bend pipes for an arched vault by heating with a gas burner or boiling water. You can also put the pipe on a metal rod and, sticking one end into the soil, bend it in an arc. This method requires some physical effort.

A simple and light gazebo will decorate the garden and protect from the sun and light rain. For the presented option, it is enough to fix a waterproof raincoat fabric on the pipes and bend them on reinforcing bars. To make the design reliable, you need to take care of good fixation of the rods in the soil.

The range of application of plastic pipes is truly huge and limited only by your imagination and needs. You need a small woodcutter, a gate, a cart or a fishing rod stand - take the required amount of pipe and bring your idea to life.

It is easy to make a convenient feeder for chickens from sewer pipes. It is very convenient to pour grain with it without going into the corral. Chickens cannot rake grain in such feeders, which saves feed.

A small greenhouse in a summer cottage can also be made from plastic pipes. The easiest option: make a rectangular frame and cover it with a film or agrofibre.

A more serious construction - a seasonal greenhouse - will require more time and material. It is better to connect the elements with bolts so that it is possible to disassemble the structure for the winter. The optimal shape of the greenhouse is arched. To create it, the ends of the pipes are put on half-meter metal bars driven into the sides of the future greenhouse every meter. The dimensions of the greenhouse depend on the intended use. The greenhouse can be installed on the foundation or on the ground. Film, polycarbonate or agrofibre can be used as a covering material.

Plastic sewer pipes can also become a container for growing flowers, herbs and vegetables. Very often they are used to create vertical gardens.

To fence the site, you can use a low fence made of plastic pipes, which is durable and has minimal maintenance requirements (it does not need to be painted every year).

The use of plastic pipes is not limited to the ideas presented. This material is so versatile and easy to assemble (easy to cut, bend, has a variety of connecting parts) that it is simply impossible to ignore it in your home workshop.
