The material from which PET bottles are made shrinks when heated. Thanks to this, a tape from it can be used instead of a rope or a linen cord for a strong connection of various materials, it makes it possible to produce various . It is almost impossible to cut ribbons with scissors - I made a special device for this.

You will need: a few large washers 2 solid thread bolts, nuts and washers a utility knife blade with a hole a piece of plywood (board, laminate).

On the plywood platform we lay 2 large washers pressed against each other (photo 1), mark their centers. We drill holes in them according to the diameter of the bolts. Then, on the back side of the platform, we make a recess in the shape of the head so that they “drown” and the bolts do not rotate around their axis (photo 2). To cut a tape of a certain width on the leg of each bolt protruding from the back side, we lay so many large washers so that their total thickness is such a width. For example, to cut a 5 mm tape, you will need 3 washers with a thickness of 1.58 mm.

We put the knife blade on top and put at least one more large washer on it (photo 3). Align them and tighten the bolts with nuts. The machine is ready. We fix the platform on the table with screws or a clamp. remove the bottom, cut the strip and insert it under the knife. With one hand we hold the bottle and press on the cork, with the other we pull out the cut tape.

On the Internet you can find a lot of bottle cutters, that is, you can always choose how and where to make a strong tape from the most popular material - plastic bottles. But the model presented today is one of the most advanced.

Today we will collect one very cool device. The design developed by the excellent video blogger lawyer Egorov was taken as the basis of this model. Several small design changes were made.

To make a bottle cutter, we need: a profile, or a corner, a hairpin, a clerical knife blade, nuts, a key. Under the video, Egorov has comments from people that they did not succeed. In the comments, the author himself repeatedly emphasized that in profile, or the corner that you will use for your device, must be at least 2 millimeters thick. Otherwise, you won't be able to. He will tear, pinch the tape.

The author of this video took a window profile, its thickness is about 0.5 millimeters. Still, he got a bottle cutter. Let's explain why. For this, small design changes were made to the original design.

The window profile for metal-plastic windows is taken as a basis. It has cuts of different widths for the future tape, medium, wide and thinner. These slots must be made with a hacksaw, in no case with fortune, because the width of the slot is too large from fortune. In this case, the tape will wrap.

On this side, it is desirable to make cuts almost to the end. In this design, this is irrelevant. If you are making a machine for making tape using the Egorov method, then make these cuts as deep as possible. When you make them, be sure to clean them with a file, needle file, sandpaper, they should be smooth. There should not be a burr, otherwise the tape will be of poor quality. Next, a hole is made here.

Now about the hairpin. The master bent it in this way. I took the hairpin on the M6. Why did you bend? This is the change mentioned above. At the lawyer, the pin on the bottle cutter is on the right side of the slot, bent at a certain angle. Since the profile here is thin-walled, not 2 millimeters, as Egorov advised, I had to make changes.

Assembling a device for cutting tape from a bottle

Let's start assembling. We put the blade. The design is assembled, the only thing left to add is some kind of clamp so that the blade does not play. Let's use a regular cork from a plastic bottle. She enters well here, and presses the blade well.

Tape cutting machine test

The design is ready, it's time to test it. To cut a thin tape, this cut on the bottle must be perfectly even. For a wide one, this is not so critical, but for a thin one, it should be even. When you pull the tape, try to pull it a little towards the bottle, not from it towards you, but a little to the side. Thus, the workpiece will be pressed more tightly and you will succeed.

With this bottle cutter, you can cut a tape of almost any width. In his practice, the master often uses wide or medium. If necessary, you can cut thin. It's not a problem. For photos of this craft, see delaysam.net/butilkorez/

Let's make a device for cutting ribbons from bottles

To do this, we need the blade of a clerical knife, a few wood screws, some kind of wire for the guide, cut grooves with a hacksaw.

We put the blade on the bar and mark the places for the grooves.

We make cuts under the wire and under the tapes of the cut rope.

We fasten everything to the screws and you're done. You can use. We cut off the bottom of the bottle and with scissors we make the beginning of the strip. We skip it into the cut and pull, the bottle itself will begin to be cut into a strip along the width of the groove.

You can improve the design.

This rope is quite strong and can be used anywhere. For example, to tie something. and even as a fishing line, if you make it thin enough. In addition, the nodes can be melted for greater strength.

And if you heat it with a hair dryer, it will shrink and tighten even more tightly. Like heat shrink.

Tape cutter from plastic bottles in 5 minutes

Today we will make a simple bottle cutter for plastic bottles in 5 minutes with our own hands. With this bottle cutter, you can cut a plastic bottle into strips of various widths.

To make a bottle cutter with your own hands you will need:

1. Small board;

2. 2 bolts with a diameter of 6mm;

3. Two nuts for these bolts;

4. Washers.

5. Blade from a pencil sharpener

This bottle cutter is very simple and you can easily make it in 5 minutes and already start cutting plastic bottles.

Tapes from a plastic bottle can be used in the household or needlework.

Plastic bottles are lying around (or even neatly standing) literally everywhere you look. But from them, with the help of a very simple device, you can make the right thing - a ribbon, braided rope or fishing line.

You ask: what might such a tape be needed for? Its application is very diverse due to its flexibility and strength. You can tie anything with such a ribbon, it will make a convenient whisk, brush or even a rug under the door.

Also, a plastic "rope" will successfully replace the rails with which the film used for greenhouses and greenhouses is attached. And of course, the ribbon is suitable for decorative interior decorations. Moreover, if you cut not a tape, but a thread (fishing line), it will come in handy for stitching something.

Main stages of work

Let's get started, make a simple "machine" and "unwind" the bottles like grandmother's balls. Let's prepare a saw, a jigsaw, a vise, a ruler, a pencil, a safety razor blade, self-tapping screws with a wide press washer, a wooden block 3 cm wide, 2 cm thick, 20 cm long.

Then we divide the blade into two halves. We clamp the bar in a vise and cut it with a jigsaw along the transverse line so that half of the blade fits completely into it. The second cut (in the middle) must be done at the beginning with a jigsaw from the end of the bar, then with a saw, increasing the width of the gap.

Not very tricky and easy to make, the device will help you make wonderful crafts from plastic bottles (PET). The rest is only limited by your imagination and creativity...

PET bottles are a ubiquitous product that is available to everyone, and this can be partly considered its advantage. In Portugal, plastic bottle collectors are known as "catadores". They collect PET bottles and other types of waste from the street for profit. Some are looking for new ways to use the material. Recycle PET bottles and use them in art or design. This is one of the new directions.Designer Takashi Utsumi saw the potential in the material for making small craft, so he developed the "filetador" PET bottle shredder. The device allows bottles to be quickly crushed into strips of varying thickness, ready to be cut into various crafts. The device proves that there are no limits There are no applications for such recycled PET bottles and everything relies only on your creativity. And this shredder is only designed to help you with this and save you from routine work - cutting bottles into strips in a matter of moments, turning this activity into a pleasure.

Now let's take a closer look...

Let's start with a video demonstrating the operation of a PET shredder:

Well, in more detail you can make out everything in the photos:

PET bottle grinder (filetador)

From 2002 until the end of 2010, Takashi Utsumi offered two shredder models: the F-200, which produced 2 cm, wide belts, and the F-15/40, which produced 1.5 - 4 mm belts. Now these models will be replaced by two new ones, using new types of materials.

New models:

- F-200C, which allows crushing 2L bottles and bottles with smaller volume (as a replacement for the F-200, which could only grind 2L bottles);

- mini shredder, it is a popular simple shredders. It is extremely simple and cheap to manufacture than its predecessor, the F-15/40. Using this new model takes some practice and a little more attention than with the F-15-40. The mini shredder is great for creative use.

Comparison of new models with old ones:

Well, now the most important thing...

How to make a plastic bottle shredder on your own?

With a mini shredder, you can cut long and narrow strips from PET bottles. The instrument can be used alone as a portable device or attached to a base on a table

Manual minishredder

ORIGIN

The first mini shredder was similar to a blade holder and was used in the F-2000. Later, other models were invented to make the device more convenient.

EVOLUTION

MATERIALS AND TOOLS

The tools needed to create a mini shredder can be found in any home workshop.

The materials needed are quite simple: two screws with nuts, one washer, one 9-10mm cutter blade, a piece of aluminum U-profile and a piece of wood for the handle.

Many times I came across videos on the Internet about making fishing line / tape from a plastic bottle.

When I found out that the video “Bottle Cutter of Lawyer Yegorov” had received more than 3 million views, I thought: “Probably a necessary thing in the household, since so many people are interested.” We need to check how that magic bottle cutter works.

Everything needed to make a miracle device was found in the country. Aluminum corner - 30 mm. A pair of short M5 screws with wing nuts. Long screw 80 mm, with nut. Blade for a stationery knife.

You will also need a drill with a set of drills and a jigsaw.

We drill holes for fixing the blade.

Now we drill a hole for a long screw.

Cut off the excess with a jigsaw.

Now we need to make two or three cuts through which we will pull the fishing line.

Now you can assemble the bottle cutter. We fix the knife blade with two screws. We install a long screw on which the bottle will spin.

First experiences

The wider the slot, the wider the line/tape. Apparently, I didn’t guess some sizes, I couldn’t cut a thin tape. But the 5mm tape came out well.

Cut off the tail of the desired thickness with scissors.

We insert it into the slot and begin to gently pull it from the other side. The knife cuts the bottle, and the slot limits the width of the tape.

What to do with plastic tape?

The question of what to do with the tape now confronted me. I wrapped the handles of the old round-nose pliers with tape.

We try to put the tape evenly on the handle. At the end, we slip it under the previous coil, tighten it and cut it off.

We heat it up for a while with a hair dryer. Plastic tape behaves like heat shrink: when heated, it shrinks, perfectly squeezing the handle.

Now it's probably better.

My wife also tried to tie bushes with ribbon. I haven't gotten my hands on the rest of the ideas for using the tape yet.

What else can be made from plastic fishing line? From the ribbon you can weave a stylish bag. Make a plastic broom or brush.
