It remains only to glue the leather parts together. The lower part of the cover will fit tightly into the plastic pipe, and the upper element of the larger size will not allow it to fall inside. Covers, which are made of leather, are practical.

Tube design

Assembly

The sequence of work is as follows:

The second option - a fabric cover is put on top of the coil, which closes it from dust, dirt, scratches, but does not protect it from shock. For ease of use, it can be equipped with a snake.

The first method is more laborious and expensive, but in this case the coil is reliably protected. She is not afraid of falls, blows.

We make a tube for winter fishing with our own hands

Winter tackle is small, unlike summer rods. Therefore, the tube for them is made in the same way as it was listed earlier, but in reduced sizes.

The order of work is as follows:

The task was the following:
In my car trunk (Octavia Universal) there is free space above the wheel arches, like many other car models, where I put my fishing rod and spinning rod, but in cloth cases the tackle is still prone to breakage, so it was decided to get a homemade tube for rod storage.

The option of a purchased store tube fell away due to the size of the distance between the arches (I have 120cm), it’s difficult to pick up a ready-made one for this length, and I didn’t want to sacrifice even a centimeter, because there was already a spinning rod with a transport length of 119.5 cm. Plus, almost all ready-made tubes come in a round shape, which was also not desirable, because. it could roll off the arches during movement and maneuvers, so the common version of manufacturing from a round sewer pipe disappeared. Well, the price of more or less decent ones started from 1000 rubles and more.

Thinking thoughts, I stumbled upon Era's ventilation ducts in a hardware store, which were both round and rectangular, which was actually required for my needs.

The plastic from which they are made is strong enough, and at the same time not hard, so it will not crack from accidental impacts.
The size 120x60mm came up to me, which was purchased for making a tube with my own hands. But there was a question with rectangular end caps. They apparently do not exist in nature, I looked at both the era and the Khokhlyat manufacturer, so I had to take rectangular connectors with valves.

I cut off a piece of the ventilation duct I needed, 120 cm long. At the connectors, I cut off the side on one side, almost under the very valve. Because it opens and closes freely, fixed it in the closed state and smeared it with glue for plastic window sills (but I think any glue is suitable for gluing plastics). As a result of such shamanism, end caps were obtained.

But due to the internal thickness of the plugs, the tube (which is not bad for a spinning rod of my size) slightly increased in length, and after calculations and estimates, I cut the air duct itself by about 1 cm.
Inside the made plugs, I glued pieces of foamed polyethylene (substrates for laminate) to soften and absorb possible shocks from the tips of the rods.

The plugs themselves sit quite tightly on the box, but as a reinsurance, I twisted small self-tapping screws with bitten ends from one (deaf) end, and wound up a little electrical tape from the other.
Next, I had to come up with something with a pen. The handle was first taken from a package with blankets, I think many people have such packages.

The handle itself is rubber and with a flexible connection. In the transport state, it practically does not protrude, which is quite convenient, but, having loaded the rods into the tube, I decided to refuse it, being afraid for a certain fragility and unreliability of the design, although maybe someone with a small weight of gear will do this option.

In the store of sewing and weaving accessories, I bought a new handle - hard and durable. Which was attached to the middle of the tube.

When attaching the handle, a problem arose - how to tighten the screws from the inside of the box with your own hands, the hand did not climb to the middle of the tube, and it is not clear where to screw the screws. I solved the problem as follows - I marked out a place for the handle on the duct from two sidewalls, on the one hand I drilled holes with a diameter for the screws, on the other hand, the holes were 1.5-2 times larger. And using a thin screwdriver with a magnetic tip, the handle was screwed on.

In principle, the extra holes did not spoil the appearance much. Next, you can glue the tube with a cloth, but I'm from this idea
refused, because smooth plastic is easier to clean and wash than fabric.

In this home-made convenient tube, I can easily accommodate a spinning rod, a feeder and a lapdog fishing rod, and the tube itself lies on the wheel arches, without interfering with the loading and unloading of things in the trunk, and the gear is always with me.

As a result, the costs for the tube were as follows:
- rectangular plastic air duct 120x60mm, length 2m. -315r. (But I used 1.2m, so it was spent somewhere around 240r)
(According to Era's catalog, there are also 1.5m and 1m, but I needed another piece for home ventilation, so I killed 2 birds with one stone.)
- two rectangular channel connectors with a check valve -88r.
-pen -100r.

Total we have about 430r. and a little personal time and effort, but the made tube will be exactly the size you need, for your rods and trunk dimensions.
