It’s summer now, but autumn is just around the corner, or rather September 1 ... I remember during the years of my childhood (and I lived in a small town) gladioli bloomed in every front garden by September and we local children carried these flowers to the teacher on the first call to school - GLADIOLUS. That's something nostalgia attacked and I decided to dispel it ... I climbed into the Internet, found photos of these simple flowers and decided to make a bouquet of gladioli using sweets in their likeness. Such a sweet bouquet...

For work I needed:

Floral crepe (corrugated) paper, colors:
pink
light lilac
lilac
green

Sweets - 9 pcs.,

hot glue,

teip tape,

Wooden skewers (toothpicks or wire)

Scissors,

Tape or thread.

I'm starting to make gladioli from sweets:

1. To make buds, cut out paper strips 1 cm wide along the entire length of the sheet. Cut the strip into 4 equal parts. For one gladiolus, you will need 8 parts of green paper and 4 parts of colored paper. Accordingly, for the buds of three gladioli, we need: 6 strips of green and 1 strip of each color.

2. We twist each strip in the middle and bend it in half (as for crocuses), stretch it in the middle and bend it. For the upper bud, we fasten one strip into a bud with a thread, for the next two 2 strips of green color, crossing them crosswise.

3. For the next four buds, you will need 1 strip of colored paper and 1 strip of green paper (for each bud). Two buds so that the colored part is inside, and two buds so that the colored part is on top. We fix each bud with a thread.

4. We attach the buds alternately in a checkerboard pattern to the skewer and wrap the teip with tape (it can be replaced with green corrugated paper).

5. This is how it should look.

6. To make the flowers themselves, cut out 3 strips 3-4 cm wide of each color. We cut each strip into 6 parts, it can be equal, but I cut 3 smaller parts and 3 larger parts. I cut out the petals from the strips, this is the shape. I twist each petal with scissors and stretch the middle. I stretch the edges of the petal to make a beautiful wave.

7. Then I fasten three petals to the candy with a thread or wire, and then three more between the already screwed petals.

8. These are the gladiolus flowers.

9. For each gladiolus we make three flowers. You can of course have more, but I did three.

10. Attach green leaves to the back of the flower. Like this.

11. Then I successively attach the flower to the skewer with hot glue, wrapping the teip with tape. When the skewer runs out, I build it up with another one by twisting them together. In places where the flower stem is compacted and therefore the build-up is not noticeable. I also attach gladiolus leaves cut from corrugated paper.

12. Such pretty gladioli are obtained.

15. The bouquet can be packed or composed into a composition. I made a bouquet.

You can make a skewer behave long and well in a vase if you change its water every day, with a “cocktail” of several citric acid crystals dissolved in it and with half a teaspoon of sugar (based on 1 liter of water).

• salt (1 tsp),
• boric acid (1 tsp),

• ammonia (2-3 drops),

Water, by the way, should be boiled at room temperature. Every day you need to trim the peduncles and remove the fading flowers.

Gladiolus leaves are undesirable to use in mdash bouquets; they speed up the decay processes of mdash; it is better to replace them with other mdash spiky plants; calamus marsh, cattail, aspidistra, bergrass, palm leaves.

These rules apply to classic combinations. But what if the task is to collect a round bouquet of gladiolus flowers, glamelia or a composition with piaflora at the base?

Glamelia mdash; a complex technique that appeared in the 19th century, which involved the creation of a huge man-made flower from gladiolus and camellia petals. Later, such designs began to be created from petals of various colors, but the single name for the form remained the same.

Floral direction, of which glamelia is a part, mdash; transformation (in the process of work, the floristic object is modified beyond recognition). This is the bouquet of gladioli, the photo of which should be taken immediately. It is for the sake of beautiful photographs that glamelias are most often created.

For this type of bouquet, it is best to use flowers that have already blossomed, which must first be soaked in water for a day and fed with a nutrient for cut plants (Krizal, etc.).

There are two ways to create glamelias:

Principle #1 mdash; assembly of glamelia on wire studs.

1. A barely blossoming bud is pierced with a thin wire, the ends of which are twisted into a stem.
2. The petals of the disassembled 25 flowers are sorted by mdash size; the best and largest are selected for work.
3. To prevent the petals from wilting during work, they are laid out between sheets of white wet paper.
4. All petals are mounted on studs.
5. The bud is covered with petals, and the wire pins are twisted around the base of the bud.

The second method of creating a glamelia involves the use of Oasis floral glue for fresh flowers and a foam base around which a new flower is formed.

1. To simplify the work process, a ring of decorative wire is stuck into a foam ball with a diameter of 8 or 10 cm (it will later serve as the stem of the bouquet), the tail of which is smeared with glue (any quick-drying one will do).
2. The opposite side of the ball is slightly cut off and a hole for the perianth is made in it with a wooden skewer.
3. The bud (on the cut) is treated with floral glue and glued into the hole.
4. The sections of all the petals are alternately smeared with floral glue and glued with scales around the bud.
5. For ease of use, the glamelia blank can be placed on an impromptu mdash pedestal; in a tall glass or vase.
6. When the glamelia is ready, the non-decorative part is decorated with a cuff.

The main features of glamelia are: grace, unusualness, the complexity of the process and the fragility of mdash; without a flower, a petal lives for a few hours.

You can make a round wedding bouquet of gladioli without resorting to decomposing each bud into its components. These compositions also look very solemn and unusual.

You can make a balloon bouquet:

But dahlias can be made friendlier by burning their stems a little.

Flowers should open fully or almost completely. They will last even longer in a bouquet if you throw a silver spoon or decoration into a vase of water. Chrysanthemums are combined with asparagus (especially large, cold flowers), thuja branches (especially yellow, medium-sized) and fern branches (small-colored). In the latter case, the bouquet should be low.

♦ Asters. Along with beautiful, large-flowered varieties, small-flowered perennials can also be used - they will become an addition to a mixed bouquet. To make the bouquet of asters stand even longer, you should remove almost all the leaves from the stems, except for the top ones, and change the water as often as possible. If you add a little alcohol to the water (a teaspoon per liter of water), the bouquet will break all records for longevity.

♦ Gerberas - festive, elegant and at the same time quite formal flowers. According to etiquette, they can be given to both men and women, and for a gift to a male teacher, it is better to choose a bouquet of five flowers of burgundy and orange hues. Rose, chrysanthemum and aster are wonderfully combined with gerberas. Florists especially like to pair gerberas with roses. Five gerbera flowers, a few medium-sized roses, lush greenery - a magnificent bouquet is ready. You can make a bouquet of gerberas alone, for example, make light flowers the center of the composition, and dark ones along the edges.

The bouquet will last longer if you cut the tips of the flowers by about a centimeter daily under running water. There should not be so much water in the vase: because of the small hairs that cover the stems of the gerbera, they are quickly covered with mucus.

♦ sunflowers. For a school bouquet, the teddy bear variety is especially suitable. These sincere and cute "teddy bears" bloom in mid-August and bloom until the very frosts, teachers invariably like it and, oddly enough, often win against the background of prim roses from the flower shop. Good as just sunflower bouquets, and mixes with them. Sunflowers are combined with gladioli of lilac and purple shades, look good next to dahlias. The bouquet is complemented by rare sprigs of greenery.

♦ Zinnias: there are tall and large varieties that look like double gerberas. They look especially impressive in the bouquet of the first of September: smooth stems, elegant flowers. They are combined with light, openwork plants, for example, with asparagus. For a bouquet, zinnias are cut, the inflorescences of which have opened by ¾, and then they do not lose their natural colors for a long time and remain fresh.

♦ Marigold. Large varieties of these unpretentious flowers - 10-12 centimeters in diameter - are especially suitable for a school bouquet. Their orange-yellow-red color scheme, autumn smell with fruity notes fully correspond to the mood of the first day of the school year. The bouquet includes strong flowers with fully opened inflorescences, but a dense core. The bouquet will last longer if you cut the stems to the height of the vase and remove the basal leaves.

♦ Snapdragon. These joyful, bright flowers of an unusual shape always cheer up the one who receives them as a gift. They go well with many other country flowers: with the same spray roses, chrysanthemums, asters ... Such a bouquet can be stored in a vase for up to two weeks.

♦ Tall eustoma. These chic exotic flowers can make a splash in the school yard. Eustoma flowers are popular among FORUMHOUSE flower growers. But among less advanced gardeners, this is a rather rare plant: you won’t immediately understand what kind of beauty it is, where it comes from. There is hardly a teacher who will remain indifferent to such a bouquet, but it would be more appropriate to give it to a young teacher.

I put them in bouquets on September 1 (in fact, I sowed them for this), I was tortured to tell everyone what kind of animal it was.

These plants can play the “second violin” in school bouquets perfectly:

• Jerusalem artichoke. You can make a bouquet of fiery red dahlias and yellow, similar to strange daisies, Jerusalem artichokes.
• Aspagarus - asparagus for a bouquet.
• Panicled hydrangeas.
• Decorative stonecrops.
• Decorative cereals.
• Vesicle.
• Rudbeckia. They look great in a bouquet with any blue flowers and perfectly complement zinnias.

How to make a bouquet

The best bouquets are obtained from flowers of different types, but you do not need to collect everything that grows in your garden in one such mix. Two or three varieties of flowers will be enough, it is important that they are combined in color, mood (whatever you say, you can’t put a rose in one bouquet with daisies), flower size and texture.

Make sure that the plants in the bouquet are of different heights. Here is the formula that professional florists use when composing bouquets:

tallest flower - ¼ of its height = medium flower;
medium flower - ¼ of its height = shortest flower.

If you use this formula, all the flowers in the bouquet will be visible.

Do not be afraid to decorate the bouquet with greenery: a couple of branches, and it will sparkle with all its colors. And decorative cereals: the main thing here is that the cereals in the bouquet are higher than the flowers, but do not obscure them.

If you want to present a teacher with a floral arrangement that will stand on your desktop for a long time, this is not as difficult as it seems.

♦ We decorate the jar or glass in which it will stand with wrapping paper.

♦ We cut out a blank of suitable size from green floral foam (oasis) and saturate it with water. There is one subtlety: the oasis must float freely in a container of water until it drowns itself - only then will it be completely saturated and be able to keep the composition blooming.

♦ Let's start compiling the composition. Florists say that when arranging flowers and greenery in a floristic oasis, the main thing is to maintain a given shape: a ball, a trapezoid, etc. All flowers parallel to each other should be on the same level.

The composition can be decorated with school supplies: bright, sharpened pencils, paint boxes, a tiny decorative globe, etc. And you can use bright autumn leaves, bunches of mountain ash or viburnum, fruits - from apples to corn ... It is important not to overdo it: greens and decorations should not draw attention to themselves, the main thing is flowers.
