The roof, as you know, is one of the main enclosing structures of the house, it must withstand not only environmental influences, but also the most extreme temperature conditions. Special requirements are also put forward for the heat insulator, which is used in the insulation of roof structures, especially when it comes to the roof used. And one of the materials that are perfectly suitable for such conditions is Technoruf insulation, which will be discussed in today's article.

The main advantages of the material

Technoruf insulation has numerous advantages, the most basic of which are listed below.

  1. Possibility of effective roof insulation.
  2. Long service life.
  3. Possibility of installation on an uneven surface. In addition, a screed is also not a prerequisite.
  4. All installation steps can be done by hand.
  5. After insulation, the roof can be used as a floor, without even equipping a concrete screed over the material.
  6. Special equipment is not used in the work.
  7. There are no wet processes during installation.
  8. Finally, the duration of the installation work is negligible.

Note! This insulation can be laid on any surface - corrugated board, concrete, sheet steel and even cement screed. But at the same time, neither leveling the surface nor the use of polymer glue for fixing is required.

Prices

The specific cost of the material depends on both the modification and the region. On average, it varies between 2,535 and 5,019 rubles per cubic meter.

Varieties of insulating material

There are several product lines, let's get acquainted with the features of each of them.

Actually, Technoruf

So we decided to name the modification of the material, which can be used for insulation without any additions, that is, alone. Such material is intended for use as the main thermal insulation layer for all types of roofs, regardless of what material the surface is made of. The dimensions of the products in this case are as follows (LxWxT): 100/120x50/60x5-11 centimeters. As for specific modifications, they are listed below (for the convenience of visitors, the information is given in the form of a small table).

Such modifications are also suitable for any surface, but are intended for installation in combination with the insulation described below (we are talking about modifications B). They have excellent noise, thermal and moisture insulating properties, but, being not strong enough, they need to be “protected” by a more durable material. Dimensions of material plates (LxWxT): 100/120x50/60x5-11 centimeters. The main parameters are shown below.

As a rule, of all the modifications described, these are most often used - H30 and B60. Installing double insulation in general allows you to achieve the maximum effect. For convenience, each of the layers is labeled separately.

Modification H30

It is intended (and actively used) for insulation and soundproofing of the roof. The vapor permeability of the material is quite low, as well as the compressive strength (this means that it is installed in tandem with denser modifications). In general, the material is quite effective and durable.

As for specific technical information, it is given below.

  1. The heater is not flammable.
  2. Its thermal conductivity can reach 0.045 watts / cubic meter.
  3. The strength index is 30 kilopascals.
  4. The density of the heat insulator is 100 kilograms / cubic meter.

Modification B60

Another type of material that is very popular. It is used as a top layer, as it is characterized by increased compressive strength. This provides the required rigidity of the entire coating.

As noted above, this material can be used both for metal surfaces and for reinforced concrete, and it does not require any preliminary screed. Yes, and it is also not necessary to cover it with a screed, thanks to which the surface is able to withstand the most significant point loads. Thanks to the use of insulation as thermal insulation of roofs, a durable surface is provided that is waterproof and wear-resistant, as well as the ability to store most of the thermal energy.

As for the specific parameters, they look something like this.

  1. The heater is not flammable.
  2. Its thermal conductivity can reach 0.046 watts / cubic meter.
  3. Its moisture absorption is 1.5 percent.
  4. The strength index is 60 kilopascals.
  5. The concentration of organic matter is 4.5 percent of the total mass.
  6. The density of the heat insulator is 180 kilograms / cubic meter.
  7. Finally, the moisture level indicator does not exceed 0.5 percent of the total mass.

Installation Features

Immediately make a reservation that the installation of the heat insulator described in the article is a fairly simple procedure. First, the work surface is thoroughly cleaned of all third-party objects present on it. After that, a vapor barrier layer is laid over the entire area (both a polymer membrane and bituminous materials can be used as such). The joints between the strips of insulating material are glued with mounting tape.

Note! The insulation boards themselves should be laid in chess order (that is, so that the joints of adjacent rows do not coincide). To fix the material, special telescopic dowels should be used (approximately two or three units for each of the insulator plates).

For a more detailed acquaintance with the laying process, we recommend that you read the step-by-step instructions below. As you can see, it is quite short, which is another proof of the ease and simplicity of the process. The algorithm of actions should be as follows.

Step one. The working surface is thoroughly cleaned of all third-party objects on it, as well as dirt and debris.

step two. A vapor barrier material is laid around the entire perimeter (as such, as noted above, both polymer membranes and bitumen-based insulators can be used). The joints between the strips are glued with mounting tape, the strips themselves are overlapped. It is also worth noting that the vapor barrier should be brought on the sides of the roof to the height of the entire thickness of the insulating pie plus 20 millimeters.

Step Three. On top of the vapor barrier, slabs of insulating material are laid (modifications H, although in most cases it is H30 that is used, as far as we already know). Laying is done in a checkerboard pattern - the way bricks are laid, for example (the joints of adjacent rows should not match). To fix the insulation, special telescopic dowels are used (two units for each of the plates, although you can increase the strength and use three or even four).

Step Four. Modification B plates are installed on top of the lower insulating layer (they are intended for the top layer of the cake), in this case, telescopic dowels made of nylon are used for fixation. The joints in this case are also tied (in other words, the joints of the lower row should be located approximately in the center of the plates of the upper row - they seem to overlap with them). The specific type of anchor elements of the dowels should be selected according to the floor material in each case.

Step Five. A waterproofing material is laid on top of the insulation (the best option is a polyvinyl chloride membrane).

Note! The places of contact with the sides or pipes, as well as various slopes, are organized using special additional / shaped components, which were also provided by the manufacturer. These components are also made of basalt wool, so they can be used in the arrangement of roofs of various shapes.

As you can see, no specific skills and knowledge are required here. The only thing that may be difficult is the installation of a PVC membrane, as this will require experience with similar materials, as well as welding.

The nuances of flat roof insulation

Flat roofs are insulated by means of external insulation, in other words, the one that is located above the ceiling. On top of the insulation, as a rule, rolled waterproofing material, bituminous mastic or polyvinyl chloride membranes are laid.

If the operated roof is insulated, then, as noted above, special requirements are put forward for the heat insulator, namely increased compressive strength. When using mineral wool, this can only be achieved by compacting and increasing the concentration of the binder. Because of this, not only the cost of the material increases, but also the thermal insulation properties deteriorate (thermal conductivity increases).

In order to prevent this problem, a reasonable decision was made: to use a two-layer structure of the insulating material, in which there will be a softer layer with increased heat resistance on the bottom, and a layer with increased density and rigidity on top. Thanks to this, the total cost of insulation has significantly decreased, while the efficiency, on the contrary, has increased.

It is also worth noting that modern manufacturers produce special wedge-type slabs, with which you can create a roof slope in order to more effectively drain water into the corresponding holes.

Note! The use of double thermal insulation of the roof makes it possible to do without a screed (both before laying the insulation and after it), even in cases where it - the roof - is in use. But if the loads are still significant, then the screed can be equipped if desired.

Features and properties of insulation

Teploruf mineral wool slabs (and the most popular of them are those marked H30 and B60) have gained immense popularity in the construction of a wide variety of objects. The material has excellent thermal conductivity, and its use for insulation practically does not increase the thickness of the roof or wall section.

The weight of mineral wool is negligible, therefore, its installation does not cause any difficulties and is done quite quickly. Thanks to all these operational qualities, the Technoruf heat insulator allows you to insulate any type of roof with maximum efficiency.

The B60 modification deserves special attention, which is the latest in the warming cake. This is clear evidence that the thermal conductivity of the material, as well as its strength, is at a fairly high level. This insulator meets all modern quality standards and is used as a top layer for insulating flat roofs, thereby achieving the required structural rigidity.

It is also worth noting that the described material is used to isolate those surfaces that are made of reinforced concrete or iron sheets. At the same time, the surface itself acquires the ability to withstand significant mechanical loads.

Scope of application and purpose of the heat insulator

Objects of both industrial and residential purposes always need additional thermal insulation. And with the help of Technoruf plates, it is possible to form the main insulating layer on surfaces made of both reinforced concrete and metal. Moreover, these products may well be used as a heat-saving element on those roofs that are made under a slope. And due to their versatility, they can even be installed on an unused roof (for example, in industrial buildings).

Note! Due to the high strength characteristics of the slabs, they are also actively used for insulation of roofs, which are used quite often.

If there is a desire, then even walls, facades and ceilings can be isolated with Technoruf. High compressive strength allows you to equip a cement screed (and even reinforced) over the heat insulator. All modifications of the material described above belong to the class of heat-insulating building materials of increased strength. This kind of mineral wool is widely used in repair work, as well as in the implementation of large-scale construction projects.

Finally, the material can also be used to insulate small private houses, since it has such qualities as ease of installation, increased thermal insulation properties and resistance to various kinds of chemical attack.

The internal device of the heater

The Technoruf insulation described in the article does not burn, it is produced in the form of thermal and noise insulating plates with increased hydrophobicity, made using mineral wool. The production process itself is based on the use of the latest technological developments.

The material is almost 100 percent composed of fine fibers of the mineral basalt. Fibers bind to each other with the help of a special organic substance. At the appropriate stage of manufacture, each plate is treated with a special moisture-repellent impregnation, due to which, in fact, the material acquires the hydrophobicity mentioned above. This moment, by the way, is especially important, since during the installation work it is far from always possible to exclude the ingress of water onto the products.

The fibers are arranged horizontally / vertically, thanks to this structure, the plates withstand significant point loads, moreover, they qualitatively redistribute them (loads). The fibers are arranged in such a special way by using a pre-compressor pleater.

The last stage of production is the packaging of products in individual packs in accordance with the specifications (a heat-shrinkable polyethylene sheath is used). Note that the manufacturer guarantees a sufficiently long service life, but on condition that all operating requirements are strictly observed. What is characteristic, this moment does not depend on the characteristics of the climate and temperature fluctuations.

TechnoNIKOL Technoruf H30 insulation is a non-combustible material made of thin basalt fibers and a binder. The thickness of one plate is 110 mm. Technoruf H30 insulation is treated with a water-repellent composition and is able to withstand short-term exposure to precipitation without loss of performance.

Mineral wool insulation Technoruf H30 is used as the bottom layer when constructing a multi-layer thermal insulation system for flat roofs with a base made of metal corrugated board or reinforced concrete structures. The high melting point of the mineral wool material allows the boards to be used in the temperature range from -60°C to +250°C.

To create the top layer of insulation, boards with higher compressive strength should be used, for example, Technoruf B60 40 mm high. A two-layer insulation system is beneficial from an economic and practical point of view.

Advantages:

  • non-combustible;
  • has soundproof properties;
  • hydrophobized;
  • long service life subject to the rules of installation and maintenance of structures.

Packaging and storage

Technoruf H30 mineral wool boards are packed in shrink film in the amount of 3 pieces 1200x600x110 mm in size. Insulation should be stored in a dry place on pallets or linings, avoiding moisture on the plates. Short-term storage of Technoroof H30 is possible on open construction sites without loss of technical characteristics under a canopy / awning at a distance from the ground, protecting it from the effects of precipitation.
