The blue color of the walls in the interior. Living room interior in blue tones: features, photo. Win-win combination: blue and beige

Not everyone will choose. This shade is ideal for those people who need comfort and peace. It relaxes, affects the mood, calms, and also sets you up for reflection. It is often chosen by childless couples and people free from families.

How to use it wisely, we will learn in the article below.

Psychology and associations

Blue is a symbol of relaxation, peace, tranquility, sensuality, creativity. It is believed that this color symbolizes femininity. Interestingly, according to Feng Shui, this shade, being a direct reflection of the feminine, means harmony, care and sensuality.

Light shades of blue in the interior of a person are associated with silence, calmness, freshness, depth, lightness, coolness and height.

Dark shades in humans cause a slightly different range of associations. For example, they are associated with excitement, depth, intrigue, sometimes anxiety and depression.

Variety of colors

This shade among other cold ones is the most popular. It is characterized by amazing expressiveness. The combination of blue in the interior with other colors and all kinds of lighting options can be gentle or gloomy, saturated or calm.

The main shade of blue, which is used more often than others in the interior, is blue. It makes the interior cool, fresh and tender. Psychologists say that it allows you to relax, rest and dream, but its long-term effect on the mind somewhat reduces attentiveness. Therefore, the interior of such a room should be diluted with some other colors.

A more saturated shade, called indigo, is very similar in effect to blue, but is considered deeper. It symbolizes internal energy, the depth of consciousness and the source of life. It is also worth noting that a large amount of a saturated blue tint can also lead to depression.

blue kitchen

Blue color in the interior of the kitchen can look luxurious! It creates a calm atmosphere and refreshes. It can be safely used in a room whose windows face south, and the room is flooded with sunlight all day long. Then shades of blue will soften the bright rays of the sun, filling the kitchen with harmony and festive mood.

This shade is worth choosing here for people who want to get rid of excess weight. It is believed that it helps reduce appetite and can slow down digestion. In such a kitchen, it is easy to give up unnecessary visits to the refrigerator and tune in to a full diet. If you are not ready for such drastic and drastic changes, then first add a few accessories of this color to the interior of the room, which can add an element of dynamism.

Among other things, this color is rich in various shades, which you can experiment indefinitely. So, you can try to apply a shade of mysterious indigo or cobalt, delicate azure, dynamic jeans, and also romantic aquamarine.

blue bedroom

The blue color in the interior of the bedroom looks just perfect. It is as if specially designed for sleep and relaxation. When you get into such a bedroom, you plunge into a relaxed and serene atmosphere.

When decorating a room in these colors, it must be remembered that excessive color saturation will suppress and strain the nervous system. For bold experimenters, the following option is suitable: snow-white bedding and rich blue walls. There is a feeling that you are in the middle of a raging ocean. Beautiful surroundings will create a mirror and wooden furniture.

The interior of a bedroom for romantic personalities can be created in pale blue tones with a little interspersed with milky and beige colors. Clouds against the background of such walls are suitable for dreamers. White bedding will emphasize the idea of general airiness.

blue living room

The interior in blue (photo can be seen in this article) was often used during the heyday of the Art Deco and Empire eras. How to create this unusual interior at the present moment in order to combine notes of unusualness and sophistication with modern requirements?

In order not to radically change the situation and at the same time refresh the interior, it is enough to install some large object of a blue tint in the room. For example, a sofa. And add separate accessories of the same tone to it (decorative pillows, other decorative elements that can emphasize the beauty of things).

To create a living room in country style, you should use a combination of tender cornflower blue and

Blue children's room

The interior in blue colors of the nursery is possible if your baby is an optimist by nature. It is best to combine it with red or yellow colors, green.

If we talk about the design of such a room, then the combination of yellow and blue colors is a suitable solution, despite the fact that it is already a little boring.

If you want to make bright accents in the children's room, then you can use orange and blue colors. For boys, a marine style is often chosen, in which, naturally, a blue tint should be present.

blue bathroom

In the bathroom, the interior in blue colors is ideal, as it allows you to visually expand it.

Another merit of using shades of this color here is its direct association with water. Although you should be very careful, because with excessive monochrome tone, the room will seem very cold, especially if it is tiled.

From a designer's point of view, it's good if this room is decorated in a pale blue color scheme, but if you want to add more joy and life, then you need to combine shades of yellow and blue, maybe even orange. This color combination helps create a positive atmosphere. If the bathroom is not just white, but light blue, then a positive illusion of a small pool will appear.

Spacious rooms

If the room is spacious, the blue color must be used very carefully. Otherwise, the room will become too large. For example, the wrong use of blue in the interior of the living room can make the room empty.

small rooms

The interior in blue colors can often be seen in rooms with little space. This circumstance is explained by the fact that this color has the property of visually "stretching" the room in depth and height. For example, in order to make the ceiling higher in the hallway, it is enough just to make it in a pale blue hue.

In addition, blue is designed to visually enlarge the space. So, if one of the walls is painted in this color, while a mirror is installed on the opposite wall, created in a different shade, then this will visually increase the volume of the entire room. The same techniques can be successfully used in all small rooms.

color in the interior

When planning to create a room design in these colors, you should first find out what colors blue harmonizes with. It has a huge number of shades. At the same time, it depends on the polarity of a certain tone which shade you need to choose as a pair.

The most popular duet is the combination of green and blue, which denote the unity of earth and sky, the natural shades of nature. At the same time, being nearby in the interior, they can easily mix into a common cloudy spot, therefore, the shades should be placed at a short distance. For example, against the background of rich blue walls, creating the effect of volume and remoteness of space, furniture of warm citrus or green color looks great.

The duet of green and blue is perfect for creating a children's corner. In addition, a country-style kitchen will look amazing, in which the brightness of these colors will be muted by wood furniture.

We continue to find out what colors blue is combined with in the interior. Together with gray, they will create a noble and austere interior. This combination has many variations.

In case you plan to make the atmosphere of the room more comfortable and warm, one of the colors of this duet should be somewhat brighter, and the second - paler. For example, when choosing a saturated blue color, gray should be very washed out and pale. If we consider the coal-gray tone, then its best pair will be pale blue.

A duet of saturated gray and is considered an extraordinary solution. At the same time, they must be diluted with a neutral color, almost imperceptible, capable of emphasizing the contrast of these tones. For this, silver or light gold is best suited.

The combination of bright blue and white is mainly used in bathroom design. But this combination can also look great in bedrooms and living rooms, if this duet is diluted with a neutral third color. For example, it can be a traditional marine design - sand floor, blue walls and white furniture.

And finally...

What aspects need to be taken into account when creating such an interior so that it does not look depressing, and also does not cause depression?

A huge amount of blue looks great in spacious and large rooms with windows that face south. The rooms are therefore well lit. In small rooms, it is advisable to use only blotches of blue, using decorative elements and accessories.

If blue occupies the main position in the interior of the room, it must certainly be complemented by a variety of light colors. It is necessary to consider possible lighting options. Periodically, depending on the chosen light source, such a room can become unrecognizable, striking everyone around with its magnificence.

You can talk about the canons in design for a long time, but every day the existing canons become less and less stable. Aesthetics and harmony, balance, colors, materials, brought together in order to get such a long-awaited result are the essence of your knowledge, practice and self-development. My motto is to learn, see, touch something new every day, and I am sure that this is the only way to keep the right course in “high design”.

The blue color in the interior is basic and universal, the latter is due to the many shades and tones that can create harmonious color duets. A stormy sky, a bottomless lake, sea waves, a cornflower field and even jeans that many people love - it's all blue!

Psychological aspect

I am unlikely to tell you a secret if I say that color affects the mental and physical state. For example, our today's hero is a symbol of peace, peace and creative energy. Feng Shui defines blue as feminine, calling it the color of care, sensitivity, harmony.

With peace and quiet, we associate neutral blue and its warm shades. A completely different associative series is caused by duets of blue and black, in this case, thoughts about depths and intrigues arise in our minds.

Let's say a word about shades

In coloring, blue is referred to the three primary colors, it is he who generates a cold range. Remember the experiments in art classes, we added red to blue and were surprised by purple, mixed with yellow and rejoiced at green. The more blue in the duet, the colder the shade.

Here a very logical question arises, is it worth using blue in the design of apartments located in cold latitudes? The answer is unequivocal - yes!

Blue, despite all its external coldness, is quite a cozy, deep, rich color. The only thing left is to choose the right shade.

Navy blue

Dark shades are serious, strict and suitable for "adult" interiors. I recommend choosing them for the dining room, living room, bedroom and office. A particularly original duet is obtained from the union of blue and gold, classical style, art deco, empire and baroque fall under such a color scheme.

The classics are characterized by a combination of blue with calm cream and beige. But for lovers of the East, there are no color restrictions at all, feel free to throw blue, rich raspberry, white into the Moroccan cauldron, season everything with ornaments and soft pillows.

Intense blue

In this category I include cobalt, azure and ultramarine. They are quite sharp and active, so they do not cope well with a relaxing role. Appropriate solely as an accent, it can be a blue sofa in the interior of the living room, a door or a wall.

Combine pure blue with solid colors, the latter I include brown, a shade of natural wood and white. If you lack brightness, look for small accents of green, contrasting yellow and orange.

Did you notice that I offered you a warm range? It is she who balances the coldness of blue and helps to build harmony in the interior.

Blue-gray, warm shades

I note that blue will never become a full-fledged warm, however, when mixed with gray, red and green, you get a kind of symbiosis that refers us to natural shades.

Neutral blue-lilac and gray-blue use to create a background. They can safely claim the place of the now popular beige. This combination allows you to create a classic Provence.

Blue

Traditionally considered a boyish color, although who came up with it? Blue can be any room in your apartment - kitchen, living room, bedroom, office.

In combination with lace patterns, wood and glass, it becomes indispensable in a shabby chic style that does not accept anything other than light cream, beige, blue and pink.

color duets

So, having chosen a suitable shade of blue, you can proceed to the search for a companion for him.

 • White and blue. Yes, this is a classic performance for a marine theme, which has now gained unprecedented popularity. Where does this kind of love come from? Everything is based on associations, blue and white is a duet for romantics, it exudes sentimentality and freshness. As an addition, use pink, coral, golden.

 • Blue and yellow. Quite an extravagant solution, suitable for a bold and bright design. This is the rare case when the proximity to a warm color makes blue even bluer and colder. Due to this, the depth of the interior is achieved, and in some cases even the distortion of space.

 • A softer variation- a combination of blue with yellow-brown tones of natural wood. You can fit an expressive blue-brown duet into the framework of the marine theme by using white. And now, you are already on the deck of a ship plowing the sea.

 • Grey-blue, blue-green. Take paints and try to mix these colors. What happened? Fu, dirt! And I will say that in front of you are the most popular shades of 2016 according to the Pantone Institute, are you surprised?

The interior in such colors will appeal to restrained and even a little strict people. If you don't consider yourself one of those, choose blue-green, which adds depth and liveliness to the room. Due to the fact that the colors are related, it becomes completely unclear where one began and the other ended.

 • Blue and pink. The combination is rare, but having the right to exist. The main rule is the selection of tones that are close in temperature and saturation - cold blue - cold pink. Such a tandem is suitable for design in the style of pop art and retro.

 • Among browns, prefer shades of jute, chocolate, leather and cinnamon..
 • For light blue, it is important to use a companion in the “face” of white, yellow, pink and mint.. The last option is a great solution for a nursery.

 • Aquamarine is an amazing chameleon that takes on notes of blue or green depending on the lighting.. From personal experience, I recommend combining it with pink, coral, pistachio, mint.

A tropical mix can be obtained with the right selection of accessories in orange, pink and yellow.

So that the room with the main blue color in the interior does not look gloomy, install spotlights or ceiling lights around the perimeter, and complement the central chandelier with floor lamps and sconces.

Two who are looking for a compromise

The concepts of style and color are inextricably linked. These two require a careful approach to choosing color combinations. Modern styles have practically no color restrictions: contemporary, eclectic, art deco, modern classics and ethnics. But I will tell you more about the rest.

Classic

The classic does not go out of fashion, inspired by the heritage of antiquity, it retains its restraint and harmony. Ultra-modern furniture, an abundance of metal and plastic, flashy bright colors and contrasting combinations are out of place here.

White is chosen as the main tone, which is combined with delicate beige, light yellow, light blue, calm saturated shades of green and blue.

Empire

The style originated at the beginning of the 19th century in France. Designers agree that it is the Empire style that is the highest degree of development of the classics. Because of its splendor and monumentality, it is more often used in the design of cabinets and living rooms.

Use noble colors and contrasting combinations - red, dark blue, burgundy, emerald green with black and white. But for decor, a small amount of muted shades of bronze, gold and copper is suitable.

In Russia, the Empire style is divided into Russian and classical styles. The Russian Empire is characterized by boundless pomposity, the use of copper-colored furniture made from Karelian birch.

Baroque and Rococo

 • Rococo is the first "heir" of the Baroque, so for a non-professional, the two styles often turn out to be indistinguishable.
 • In rococo you will not find rich blue, but a combination of white and blue, please. As an addition, use light green, pink, yellow and pearl.
 • But for baroque, you can look at more "heavy" and rich colors - turquoise, wine, gold.

In the small areas of modern apartments, these styles often look too pretentious and out of place.

Loft

 • The loft has just begun to win the love of our compatriots, previously industrial romance was not at all correlated with living space.
 • The style focuses on the use of cool colors found in nature, hence the widespread use of plastered white walls, brown wooden floors, gray or black furniture.
 • Saturated bright colors - blue, red, orange and green - did not remain out of work.

Country

 • Country is a bright representative of rustic romance, operating with warm and soft natural colors.
 • Look for an ally for blue and blue among brown, light yellow, light green, sand, olive. The dosed use of black and gray would be appropriate.
 • The unspoken rule of country music is that all shades used must be combined with green.

High tech

Simplicity, functionality and high technology are all high-tech. It is quite concise, does not tolerate color abundance. The main tones are gray, white, metallic and black, diluted with red, green and blue.

Modern

Style by its name is often misleading. It is not modern and originated in the 19th century.

It is characterized by fabulousness, fantasy, which determined its texture and color scheme. The abundance of floral ornaments in blue and green against a brown-beige tone is the hallmark of modernity.

Minimalism

Conciseness and clarity are inherent not only in forms, but also in colors. The black and white interior is diluted with pure colors - purple, dark red, green, blue.

Futurism

Futurism is the most unusual of the styles, which bears a certain resemblance to the atmosphere of a spaceship. It will surprise you with complex shapes of furniture, transparent glass partitions that replace walls, and many high-tech appliances.

The floor, walls and ceiling are often finished in white or gray. Monochrome is diluted with acid tones - lemon yellow, bright orange, fuchsia, ultramarine, light green.

pin-up

Playful pin-up came from the 60s, came and stayed, winning the title of one of the most striking retro styles. A classic combination is a combination of warm yellow and light pink. Sometimes traditional yellow is replaced with pale orange, blue and light green.

An obligatory element of the interior is bright wall prints, collages in the style of the pin-up era, an abundance of mirrors in unusual frames and polka dot curtains.

Provence

French country style is easily recognizable by colorful floral patterns, light curtains, ceramic decor, ruffles and lace. All this is side by side on a white background.

Characteristic colors are milky, light blue, light pink, pearl, sandy, pale lilac.

Looking for blue

Welcome to the living room

The blue color in the living room is inherent in baroque and classical style. If your soul is striving for ethnic styles, choose more complex shades that gravitate towards red or green.

Pastel blue is the perfect solution for minimalism. Lavender or light blue walls, blue carpet, white furniture and now you have French or Scandinavian country in your living room.

In a duet to the blue walls, choose white, orange, gray, cream furniture. Wooden furniture can be both light and dark, but always with a warm undertone.

Blue nursery interior

It is possible to give a children's room to the absolute power of blue only if its owner is a cheerful, active fellow. Choose red, yellow, warm green as accent colors.

The combination of yellow and blue is unoriginal, but a win-win design option for teenage and children's rooms. No less cheerful duet - blue and orange.

Let's look into the bedroom

For the bedroom, choose blue of moderate saturation, it can be either dark blue or whitened blue.

Dilute the blue with shades of natural wood, cream, sand, gray and white.

If a rich blue does not allow you to use a modest area of the room, decorate only one wall in the chosen shade or make a color accent on curtains, accessories and a bedspread.

Enjoy Your Bath! Go to the bathroom

Blue and bathroom are a great duo. I am especially thrilled with the combination of white and blue, although I consider cheerful duets of blue with orange or yellow no less attractive.

About the blue kitchen - to be or not to be

The idea of blue in the kitchen can be implemented in several ways - in the decoration of walls, a kitchen facade or an apron.

A great combination comes out when using complementary colors, such as white, yellow, beige, cream, orange, peach and other berry shades.

Examples of finished projects

Origami, graffiti, brick

The main goal of this project was to create a bright design of a children's room for a teenager. What I did can be called a mix of Scandinavian, oriental and urban style.

The floor in a teenager's room must be durable, it was this fact that made me opt for a red self-leveling floor with origami decor.

A dressing room of 4 m² was built for storing things, I found a place for it opposite the entrance.

The main colors of the room are red and blue. I used the latter in the decoration of the wall near which the bed is located, so the graffiti inscription appeared. Juicy blue did not pass the inside of the dressing room.

The urban style was created by a simple technique - finishing one of the walls with panels imitating white brickwork. The wall near the window is covered with metal-effect panels.

The main lighting is a luminous ceiling with LED panels covered with a light-diffusing, translucent stretch fabric.

And, of course, what is a room without a work area. I placed it by the window, in a place with the maximum amount of natural light.

A couch with drawers deserves special attention, which transforms into a bed in one movement. To the left of the door are hanging shelves and a chest of drawers.

The Scandinavian style manifested itself in wooden surfaces and simple forms of furniture, oriental in the glossy red self-leveling floor.

Used:

 • LED system, ceiling - NEWMAT HANDLIGHT;
 • self-leveling 3D floors - Poly-Floor;
 • interior door - factory "Sofya";
 • photowall-paper - Photowall-paper studio;
 • furniture and accessories - IKEA;
 • graffiti zone - Artist Sergey Gorodensky
 • wall panels and radiator screen - Premier Profile.

Cafe de Paris

If you are wondering how to get a French cafe from ordinary cuisine, this project is for you.

The working area is made in the form of a bar counter and has a U-shaped table top. For the apron, white clinker bricks were used.

Particular attention was paid to lighting. In addition to the luminous inscription "Bar", chandeliers that look like Edison's light bulbs, which can often be found in cafes, were mounted, glass facades of hanging cabinets were also illuminated with LEDs.

The window of the room overlooks the house, so I decided to make a full-fledged panoramic window out of it. No, no, no one demolished load-bearing walls. The frescoes depicting a window, through which a foggy landscape is guessed, helped to successfully realize the idea.

The interior door remained from the old interior, was repainted blue and decorated with soft panels made by hand from plywood, blue silk and metal furniture studs.

On the right side of the kitchen is a seating area. The theme of shades of blue was continued by a gradient brick wall and blue polyurethane foam panels imitating boiserie. The upper part of the wall has become a haven for artificial onyx shelves and indoor plants.

Used:

 • lamps - GRAMERCY HOME;
 • wallpaper, fresco - Affresco;
 • floor vinyl tiles - VINYLAM;
 • dishes, sink, faucets - Artekey;
 • stucco - Europlast-Decor;
 • shelves - Polymer Onyx;
 • table and sofa - Wilkraft;
 • household appliances – Kuppersberg.

Pop art and turquoise deer antlers

The interior was based on a symbiosis of pop art and classical style. So let's go!

It all started from the ceiling, it would seem, use a simple form and focus on the decor. But no! The plasterboard structure has turned into an intricate pattern of caissons, decorated with LED strip and stucco. A couple of rectangles were painted in sky blue, so pieces of the sky appeared in the room.

The floor is finished with a three-layer gray oak parquet board. Due to the light tinting, it was possible to emphasize the naturalness of the material.

I moved the doorway closer to the center of the wall, and replaced the interior door with a glossy white one with vertical glass inserts.

One wall is chocolate-colored, lined with storage systems for books, boxes, and cherished little things. To the right is a turquoise dressing room.

Between the two "cupboards" a niche was formed, which became a great place for a leather sofa. The highlight of the corner for relaxation is a photo panel with multi-colored circles in the style of pop art.

The opposite milky wall is decorated with classic molding layouts and a fireplace decorated with candles and bright bird cages.

On one side, I hung vertical gardening on the wall. The phytowall of orchid flowers and begonia leaves is made up of modules and can be mounted on any surface.

An unusual chest of drawers in a classic form, but in a very original color scheme, settled at the front door. The striped pattern and ceramic flower handles again refer us to bright pop art.

So that the chest of drawers would not be lonely, they found a horned friend for him - a deer with turquoise horns, which was placed in a two-tone pink and blue frame.

From the furniture set bright red and denim chairs, similar to eggs and a blue coffee table

Lighting is provided by a chandelier with five shades and a wall-mounted designer glass transformer lamp. Textile decor - satin curtains in deep blue and multi-colored pillows.

Used:

 • chandelier, chest of drawers, shelf - Fanfour;
 • armchair - Ogogo Furnishing;
 • textile decor - Trading house "TEXTILE";
 • parquet board - factory Coswick Sunrise Premium;
 • stucco - Europlast-Decor;
 • artificial flowers - EDHome;
 • dressing rooms - Elfa;
 • wardrobe filling - Hellostore;
 • deer, table - Woodi;
 • screen for radiator - Premier Profile.

Ultramarine Carnival

Ultramarine was chosen as the main color of the interior. Almost all the walls are painted in rich blue.

The ceiling has a complex structure - lowered along the perimeter and raised in the center, illuminated by fluorescent lamps.

Three structures were built from drywall: at the door for installing a wardrobe, two at the head of the bed. Two sconces and bright yellow bedside tables were hidden here.

I decided to paste over the wall at the headboard with mirror panels and close it with a blue plastic grate. The same grille is mounted at the foot of the bed on top of a glossy white panel.

Lighting in the room is provided by a chandelier, a floor lamp and two sconces with red lampshades.

Used:

 • decorative plastic products - 3A Composites;
 • mirror panels - SIBU DESIGN;
 • interior doors and partitions - factory "Sofya";
 • parquet board - Decor Prestige;
 • stretch ceiling - Studio-NP;
 • furniture and accessories - IKEA;
 • screen for radiator - Premier Profile;
 • breather - Tion.

From time immemorial, the blue color has surrounded man in nature in large quantities, namely in the form of sky and water. That is why all its shades are pleasing to the eye, and besides, they have a positive effect on us.

 • In the blue children's room, it will be easier for the child to concentrate during lessons and creativity, and in the evenings - to tune in to sleep.

However, it is not so easy to use this color in the interior of a nursery. Indeed, in large quantities, it can “freeze” a room, make it smaller and darker, and in some shades even gloomy. To help parents, we have compiled a large selection of photos and formulated 10 design tips, color combinations, wallpaper, furniture, curtains and other interior details in blue tones.

General color characteristic

Psychological impact: shades of blue tend to calm, lower blood pressure, reduce appetite, restore strength and at the same time refresh and put thoughts in order, contribute to concentration.

Features of interaction with space: curtains, wardrobes, tables, chests of drawers and beds, painted in blue, seem a little heavier and more monumental than they are. In addition, the blue furniture, as well as the walls, floors and ceilings, may appear to be a little further away, as if they were pushed back into the depths. Another important property is the ability to refresh the interior, bring a feeling of coolness into it, and balance warm colors.

Particularly suitable for: decoration of rooms with south-facing windows, as well as for the design of the sleeping and study area in the children's room.

Features of interaction with other colors: It goes with all the colors of the rainbow - all warm shades, neutral greens, achromatic colors - white, gray and black - and with all the "relatives" - purple, lilac, blue and turquoise.

10 design tips

1. Blue forms the most harmonious union with white

In nature, which, as you know, does not make mistakes in coloring, blue always complements white. The sky is always decorated with clouds, the sea with foam, and even natural sapphire has white streaks. In the interior, this combination will also look harmonious, because white makes blue even more beautiful and neutralizes its seriousness.

 • The proportion of the combination of blue and white may be different, but it is desirable that the proportion of white be much larger. This is especially important in children under 10 years of age.
 • In wall decoration and textiles, white can successfully replace beige or light gray.
 • White is the best background and complement to blue-green, blue-orange, blue-yellow, blue-gray and any other bright or dark color scheme. Examples of these combinations can be seen in the following photo slider.

2. To visually expand the room, you need ...

… paint three walls white (or another neutral color) and a fourth wall ultramarine. This technique will help visually expand the room and avoid the darkening effect, which is especially necessary if the room is small and faces north, west or east. Below is an example of such a nursery design for a boy.

3. The interior in blue tones must have warm accents.

To neutralize the coldness of blue colors, they need to be complemented with warm colors: yellow, brown, beige, or red. This will help make the nursery cozy. So, for example, if all the walls are painted in gray, then curtains, pillows, rugs should be chosen in sunny shades. Photo examples of such decoration of the interior of the bedroom of a girl and a boy can be seen further in the slider.

In the children's room, dark shades of blue - blueberry, sapphire, indigo, etc., are recommended to be used only in accents. For example, it can be a wall fragment or one piece of furniture, curtains or carpet, a blanket with pillows, or a headboard.

5. In a teenage boy's room, blue can be combined with dark gray and black.

The most daring design techniques and violations of any rules are allowed. As the main shade, you can even choose a dark shade or combinations with black, purple, khaki or dark gray.

6. If you want to decorate a girl's room, then blue should be complemented with pink.

If you want to decorate a girl's bedroom in blue tones, then you can choose a delicate and traditionally girly color - pink as a companion color. In this combination, blue becomes less boring, and pink becomes more noble. However, instead of pink, you can use lilac, coral or yellow.

 • By the way, this advice is also relevant for design. Here, pink will clearly mark the territory of the daughter. An example of the design of a common nursery is shown in the photo below.

7. Blue is perfect for theming a room.

And any other interior style is friendly with blue. But you can go in a more original way and decorate the blue children's room themed.

 • Marine, sports and space themes are suitable for decorating a boy's room.
 • And for the interior of the girl's children's room, you can choose the theme of the cartoon "Frozen", the theme of figure skating, ballet or the little mermaid.

8. Wooden floors and furniture on a blue background - a win-win solution

Wood is the warmest material both in color and tactile. And as we have already found out, warm colors are ideal companions of blue. Therefore, unpainted wooden cabinets, beds, chests of drawers, tables, bedside tables, as well as floor coverings of any shade will make the nursery in blue tones cozier and more aristocratic.

 • By the way, in this sense, the use of wicker furniture, say, from rattan or wicker, as well as bamboo curtains, sisal carpets and straw baskets, will be successful.

9. Plaid, stripes and blue and white “painting” are perfect prints for wallpaper and curtains.

Children's wallpapers and curtains can come in many different patterns, but the most classic and versatile prints that will never go out of style are blue and white:

 • Scottish plaid and especially Vichy plaid;
 • Marine strip and any marine motifs;
 • Print in the style of cobalt underglaze painting of Chinese, European or Gzhel porcelain.

This photo slider contains examples of the listed prints on curtains and other textiles.

And here is a selection of photos of children's interiors with blue wallpaper in a cage, stripes and with "cobalt painting".

Combinations of blue and brown shades are often found in nature - the sky and trees, the sea and mountains, the earth and blue flowers on it. The ensemble of these colors is considered one of the most harmonious and favorable in clothing, makeup, interior. How to combine them correctly and in what interior to apply?

shades of summer

Interestingly, such a color scheme will refresh the interior in summer, and in winter it will remind you of the sea and the sun. It is versatile for year-round use. To bring fresh notes into the space, you should turn to gentle combinations. For example, use sky blue as the main color, complementing it with pleasant shades of light wood, clay or sand. Or do the exact opposite by swapping color schemes around. In both cases, the effect will be positive.
