So, you will need a stack of newspapers, PVA glue and a pot or pan lid. To make flagella, it is enough to twist a sheet of newspaper from one corner to another. If you are new to weaving, then the bottom is best made from cardboard. But you can also weave it. Next, bend the twigs up and begin to weave the leg of the vase. After you need to make sure that the vase expands. For this, a lid of a larger diameter than the vase leg itself comes into play. We insert it into the middle of weaving and continue to weave another 12-15 rows. To narrow the vase to the neck, you need to use an elastic band. The rim of the vase can expand again. At the end, we braid the remaining rods so that we get a pigtail along the edge of the vase. Trim off any excess tubes. Everything, the vase is almost ready. It remains only to cover it with paint or stain, and then apply varnish.

Such inexpensive and unbreakable vases are suitable for those who have small children and animals at home.

  • cardboard box;
  • paper;
  • scissors;
  • and paints;
  • aerosol and water-based paints;
  • PVA glue.

In order for all layers to lie firmly on the box, you need to lubricate it with a primer. After drying, you can start gluing pieces of torn paper with PVA. A few layers are enough. After drying, you need to apply a layer of water-based paint. We dry it again, and only after that it is possible to apply a layer of the main paint, of the same color as the future vase will be. To give the surface a relief, crumple the napkin and glue it to the surface. Now we cover this relief with paint (already of a different shade). Using stencils, you can apply patterns to a vase.

DIY wooden floor vases

A floor, decorative, high do-it-yourself vase can be made from wooden blocks. It will be square in shape. Height and width depend on the preferences of the master.

You will need:

  • four planks of an elongated, rectangular shape;
  • one wooden square (this is the bottom of the vase);
  • PVA glue;
  • screws;
  • mastic for filling seams;
  • acrylic paint;
  • decorative elements.

Fold and fasten all parts of the future vase with glue and self-tapping screws. Seal seams and cracks with mastic. Leave to dry for a day. After that, you need to remove the remaining mastic with a loop machine and sand the surface. You can decorate a vase in any way. The best thing on such a vase is a drawing or ornament applied using stencils and paints.

How to choose the right floor vase for the room?

To choose the right floor vase, you need to consider the following factors:

For a small room, flat-shaped vases and not very large ones are suitable. For large rooms, tall and wide vases of various shapes are suitable. If the interior contains carpets and curtains with ornaments, then it is better to choose vases with a smooth and shiny surface. Vases with large texture, notches and patterns will look good in a calm and discreet room setting.

You can place vases near a window, between chairs, in a niche, against a wall or in a corner. So that a bright vase is not lost, it does not need to be placed close to furniture.

Before decorating a room with ethnic items, you should study all the ornaments and patterns. Do the hieroglyphs mean something not quite decent.

If you need a floor vase only for flowers, then it is better to give preference to a white or transparent vase. Bright colors and finishes will detract from the beauty of the bouquet.

It is considered fashionable to place together vases of the same style, but different in color or texture.

The main condition is that the floor vase should please the eye and be liked by the owners of the house.

A vase is just that little thing that can give a special charm and comfort to any room. Of course, to acquire this beautiful little thing is not difficult. However, a truly beautiful and exquisite vase is not cheap. Well, some cheap products do not paint the house at all, or even look vulgar. We suggest that you make such a piece of jewelry yourself, with a little effort and spending some free time. Products made by hand look very original and unusual, besides, it is always a pleasure to admire the subject of your work. One of the options is a do-it-yourself vase from a cardboard tube. We will offer you some ideas for creativity in this article.

Making a vase out of cardboard

To begin with, we will analyze the simplest option for making a do-it-yourself cardboard vase. For this you will need the following:

  • The cardboard box is rectangular in shape and small in size.
  • Glue.
  • Several sheets of corrugated cardboard.
  • Paints.
  • Putty.

Sequencing:

  1. Form a hexagonal shape out of the box.
  2. Engage in the manufacture of decorative elements of our corrugated cardboard vase. To do this, cut small triangles with different sides.
  3. Apply glue to the edge and lay out the decor elements along the edges of the future vase, leaving small gaps between each figure.
  4. After you have pasted over the entire vase and it is completely dry, apply a small amount of putty between the decorative elements.
  5. After drying, paint the vase with contrasting colors: dark color - in the areas between the triangles.

Unusual cardboard vase

The manufacture of such a vase is somewhat different from the previous version. In order to make a vase out of cardboard, you will need:

  • A narrow glass jar, for example, from canned mushrooms.
  • Cardboard.
  • Scissors.
  • Marker.
  • Glue.
  • Ruler.

Sequencing:

  1. Start from the bottom. Take a jar, attach it to the bottom of the cardboard and outline the outline with a marker - this will be your bottom for the vase.
  2. Cut it out with scissors, adding a couple of centimeters to the drawn outline.
  3. Cut out a large number of thin strips 1-1.5 cm wide from the remaining cardboard. The width of all strips should be the same, so a ruler must be used for this purpose.
  4. Cut from the obtained strips the same lengths of 3-4 cm. Their length depends on the diameter of the bottom of the future vase.
  5. Engage in the manufacture of the vase itself. To do this, cardboard pieces should be glued along the edge of the bottom. You need to do this in such a way that the blanks do not go beyond the outline drawn with a marker.
  6. Apply a second layer of cardboard pieces in a checkerboard pattern. In the same way, continue to lay out the entire vase.
  7. Periodically insert the craft into the jar in order to check that it fits.
  8. When the bank is completely hidden, work can be stopped. Leave the vase to dry until morning.

The very next day, a new vase can be used for its intended purpose.

Important! The jar inside can be left, then the structure will be somewhat stronger. In addition, such a product can be used as a candlestick, but then the candle must be inserted into the jar.

Cardboard floor vase

In order to make a floor vase from a cardboard box with your own hands, you will need:

  • Cardboard from boxes.
  • Cardboard tube (suitable for linoleum).
  • Hot glue or glue "Titan".
  • PVA glue.
  • Pencil, stationery knife, scissors.
  • Lots of paper or newspapers.
  • Polymer putty, for example, finishing "Hercules".
  • Acrylic paints.
  • Fine sandpaper.
  • Acrylic lacquer.
  • Two step craquelure.

Sequencing:

  • Draw the shape of your future vase. In our case, this is the shape of an ancient Greek amphora, so there will be handles on four cardboard pieces.
  • Cut out blanks from cardboard. Four blanks with handles. Approximately 30 pieces should turn out.
  • Glue the blanks to the pipe. Glue blanks with handles on two sides.
  • Try to place the workpieces close to each other - at a distance of approximately 1 cm.
  • Glue the resulting shape with paper or newspaper pieces with PVA glue. It is advisable to do this in several layers so that there is a good density and so that the newspaper does not tear during the application of the papier-mâché layer.
  • Soak egg cartons in water, then wring out and mix them with PVA glue using a mixer. After the mass is thoroughly mixed, coat the entire vase with it.
  • When the vase is dry, turn it upside down and smear it with the mass, or apply a sickle net.
  • Coat the bottom of the product with putty, and when it dries well, coat the entire vase.
  • After drying, go over the craft with sandpaper to make it smooth.
  • Paint the vase with gold spray paint.
  • Draw a picture and color it. However, before applying the drawing, you must first make a sketch of the vase in order to properly think about how it will look as a result.

Important! When applying the ornament, you can make a stencil so that the pattern is even, circle with a pencil and paint with a thin brush.

Greetings, my dear readers. The other day I had a free day, and I wanted to benefit the family hearth. In other words, to earn the praise of the second half by putting things in order at least somewhere.

I opened the pantry and the first thing I did was hit on the head, it’s good that it wasn’t a knockout. I was attached by a pipe from linoleum, left after repair, just in case. Then the second one rolled out, then another bunch of incomprehensibly stored items.

It was a subtle allusion to thick circumstances, which means that I am destined to make something sensible today. I describe the whole process in order to direct your creative potential in the right direction.

Hatching an Idea

Often in my life my ingenuity helped me out, I often used peeped ideas, and here I turn the pipe in my hands and I can’t think of where to apply it. And on TV there is a program about repairs, the final stage is decor. And vases, many vases of original shapes. Here it hit again, I’ll do it, I thought a vase.

How a muse comes to a creative person

  1. At first, I wanted to make two or three crafts from a linoleum pipe, cutting it into pieces. Then I thought about it, I wanted to pile a large outdoor flowerpot. “The beautiful will be brighter”, more presentable, and more flowers will fit.
  2. I was puzzled by the material - pressed paper. You can’t pour water there, you only have to insert a dry bouquet or branches. But here an idea was born, about which a little later.

Since the material is paper, it means that ordinary stationery glue or PVA is suitable for processing it.
At worst, you can cook homemade paste.

  1. Pour the cheapest flour with water, stir until smooth and bring to a boil. Which I did, because I was too lazy to go to the store.
  2. Next, memories of childhood surfaced, how papier-mâché was made from scraps of newspapers and paste with my mother. As far as I remember, the products turned out to be durable, and they were painted easily.
  3. And so he did. Narwhal old newspapers, soaked the pieces in a bowl of water and went to breakfast, because the excitement that had arisen in the morning began to brazenly interrupt thoughts of a culinary nature.

Preparation of materials

On a full stomach and the matter is argued, I climbed back into the pantry for additions. Children's molds for the sandbox in the form of starfish and octopuses came to hand. Yeah, if so, then my future vases from pipes from linoleum should be made in a marine theme.

Well, if not all, then at least one of them “smells like the sea”.

  1. I prepared an old twisted hemp rope, pulled real shells brought from vacation from the depths of the chest of drawers.
  2. Only watercolors and gouache were found in the house, I would not like to see a smeared vase in the near future, apparently, I will have to go to the store. Construction is far away, but stationery is literally under the window.

  1. I bought a set of acrylic paints, brushes, and at the same time PVA in a small container (but you won’t need a lot).
  2. While the second half is not at home, I literally stole manicure sparkles, a lurex coil and a bag of rhinestones from her stocks. If I get caught stealing, I’ll say that a magpie flew into the house, barely kicked it out!
  3. Yes, I forgot about an important accessory. In the pantry, there was a bundle of old nylon stockings and tights. The thrifty mother-in-law hid to keep the bow in them. Just in case, the fireman pulled them out, maybe they will fit.

creative process

All the tools were at home - scissors, pencil, tape measure, hacksaw, sandpaper. The necessary materials: rags, several pieces of cardboard and a bag with the remains of dry alabaster, were also available at home. In general, here is the whole set.

how i made the vase

  1. The pipe in a vertical position turned out to be quite high, I still had to cut off the excess. I wanted the neck of the vase obliquely, so original and elegant. I marked it out, cut it off with a hacksaw like a sausage for a holiday, and it turned out to be a meter-high blank.
  2. Next, I had to come up with a foundation for greater stability. I cut off a circle from a piece of fiberboard with a diameter of 15 cm larger than the diameter of the pipe itself.
  3. To properly glue the rack to the base, there is one proven instruction. The thin walls of the pipe will not stick firmly enough if you do not make an elementary thick filler.
  4. The newspaper scraps did not impress me with their rudeness, I had to “snatch” half a roll of toilet paper. I soaked the paper with PVA slightly diluted with water, adding two tablespoons of alabaster. The last ingredient will speed up the solidification of the mass.

  1. On the marked center of the base, he laid out a slide of paper-glue dough and literally “slapped” a pipe into it. Quickly, until the mass hardened, leveled it at the seams from the outside and from the inside. The length of the arm to the bottom was not enough, he rescued the handle from the mop, and tamped it down. On the raw product, I checked the vertical with a plumb line from all sides.

At this stage, you can insert a waterproof container of a suitable size inside. For example, a plastic pipe sealed from the lower end or a strong narrow and long plastic bag. In this case, the vase is suitable not only for dried, but also for fresh flowers standing in water.

  1. Half an hour later, the pipe stood as if rooted to the spot, and this could not but rejoice. Mobility and stability achieved. The best part is decorating.
  2. After sitting with a cup of coffee and thinking, I decided to rob my mother-in-law for a couple of old stockings (these were left for the bow). I chose black ones, and, overcoming the desire to go and frighten the scandalous neighbor from above, put them on not on my head, but on a pipe smeared with glue.

  1. The whole thing took three pairs of stockings with cut off socks. If you take less, there will be few folds, namely they gave originality. Along the way, I decided to leave two gaps between the folds, here I wound the twine on wet glue.
  2. In a draft, my semi-finished floor vase dried out in about an hour. During this time, from the soaked pieces of newspapers, paste with the addition of alabaster, I kneaded the "dough".
  3. I smeared the molds for the sandbox with vegetable oil and filled them with mass, carefully compacting and leveling. You can pull it out right away, just be careful. Half-baked and still flexible blanks are more convenient to glue to the semicircular walls of the pipe, which I hastened to do.
  4. Time was leaning towards dinner, I wanted an enchanting presentation of beauty, made by myself, in front of my family. I painted the folds with a semi-dry brush with silver acrylic paint “on the tops” and sprinkled with sparkles. I painted the starfish in blue, walked along the rope with golden paint.

  1. Seashells filled with papier-mâché dough were successfully placed on empty seats, small gaps were supplemented with rhinestones. In the end, it turned out very solidly, a sort of theme of a hot summer night on a sea sandy beach.

My 8 crafts

In the process of work, I came up with a dozen ideas for using unnecessary pipes. The price of the components is zero or scanty, and the pleasure and benefits are incommensurably greater. The evening display of my product was all the more joyful because I received as a reward the stormy delight of my mother-in-law and wife who arrived from the dacha, and I was even pardoned for unauthorized stockings and rhinestones.

And here is what came to mind during the creative day:

  1. Vases in style and decoration can have an infinite number of options.. Moreover, it is interesting to match the design to the style of your interior. Color and accessories that match the design of the room - and here you have an exclusive item.
  2. A vase stylized as a birch trunk looks great. Mushrooms molded from papier-mâché will settle on an imitated saw cut.

  1. The work is a little more difficult - Roman amphora. Here you will have to cut out many identical profiles of the desired shape from cardboard and glue them to the base. After the design is covered with fabric or tape and painted.
  2. A lot of use from the pipe and in the corridor. It is convenient to store umbrellas and canes, fishing rods and even a selfie stick in it.

  1. By the New Year, together with the children, make a Christmas tree. The pipe will serve as a trunk, but the rest is easy to figure out for yourself, in the family circle. You can decorate the nursery with an ordinary tree from a pipe.
  2. I advise avid cat lovers to make a scratching post for a pet. The pipe is coated with glue and wrapped with a strong rope.
  3. The flower garden on the balcony can also be made from pipes. They are horizontal, the ends are sealed, in the upper part a strip is cut off along the entire length. The pipe is lined with polyethylene, soil is filled up and flowers are planted.
  4. A container for storing small children's toys, because there are a lot of them around the house. There will be something to do on a free day with a child, making out and decorating a new item in the children's room.

Conclusion

If you are bored on the weekend and have nothing to do, look on the balcony, in the barn, garage or storage room. There are sure to be items worthy of your creative attention. Believe me, there is nothing more pleasant than to please yourself and your family with a useful thing, made almost at no cost and on your own.

Floor vase from a pipe

Everything is quite simple here. If after the repair you still have unnecessary plastic or cardboard pipes at home, do not rush to throw them away, it is better to make a wonderful vase out of them.

A stylish do-it-yourself pipe floor vase is easy, practical and beautiful.

Just wrap a cardboard or plastic pipe with newspapers, attaching them to PVA glue, paint white with acrylic paint and decorate.

Idea: use old nylon stockings to decorate a floor vase from a pipe. Soak them in PVA, squeeze them well, and then put them on the prepared pipe. Distribute over the entire area, creating curly folds. Let the workpiece dry, and then paint and decorate to your liking.

Do-it-yourself floor vase from newspaper tubes

The now fashionable paper vine weaving technique allows you to create lovely crafts from waste material.

In order to make a chic wicker floor vase with your own hands, you will need:

  • Newspaper tubes (about 400 pieces);
  • PVA glue;
  • Scissors;

Stages of work:

  1. We carry out cross weaving 4 × 4, then we fix it with one tube around. This will be the basis of our future vase. Then we perform seven rows of ordinary circular weaving around the base, gradually spreading one tube at a time.
  2. After that, we begin to remove the walls of the vase, bending and weaving the previously divorced tubes. Moving up, we gradually expand the space of the product up to 22 rows inclusive.
  3. Then we weave evenly without breeding for about ten rows, we cover the product with varnish.
  4. Then weaving continues, narrowing the rows and tilting the tubes inward to the product until about 72 rows.
  5. We expand the neck of the vase for 12 rows and complete the weaving by creating sides in 3 rows. Cut off the rest of the pipes.
  6. We cover the product with a thin layer of PVA, wait until it dries completely. Then comes the final stage of finishing - varnishing. This should be done several times in a row.

DIY floor vase decor

There can be a lot of options for decorating a floor vase, the most trendy of them: wrapping with twine, decorating with glitter, silicone glue, as well as good old decoupage.

Of course, the vase should be decorated in accordance with the style of the room, and the method of its external decoration will depend on this.

Well, since we already have a beautiful vase ready, we can think about how to fill it.

Please note that not all types of homemade masterpieces are suitable for live bouquets, which means that we will also make flowers for floor vases with our own hands.

When creating an artificial bouquet, use the most common tree branches. It looks very beautiful and natural. At the same time, an eco-style vase for greater harmony with the bouquet can not even be painted.
Attaching balls from the remnants of knitting threads to the branches is an excellent and economical option for needlewomen.

In any case, do-it-yourself decorative branches for floor vases have not gone out of fashion for a long time. So feel free to use them in decorating your own home.

No matter how fashion changes, needlework is always in trend. Remember that from the simplest and cheapest materials you can create masterpieces of design art. The most important thing is imagination and a creative approach to business.
Do-it-yourself floor vase is easy, beautiful and stylish. Create and be inspired.

Good luck!

  • Next, the ends of the blanks need to be cut obliquely.
  • Then you need to soak the stockings with PVA glue and squeeze out the excess suspension.
  • After that, the stockings need to be pulled over the pipes to end up with twisted folds.. In this form, the product must be left until the glue dries.
  • Further actions depend solely on your imagination, for example, products can be painted with different colors and glued together. For stability, a cardboard circle or square can be glued to their bottom. As a decor for crafts, beads, beads, small seashells, etc. are an excellent option.

The result will be a very beautiful product that will look expensive, despite the fact that the price of materials is minimal.

Combined decoration

The technique for performing the product in this case does not differ from the one described above. The differences are only in the way of decoration.

The process looks like this:

  • The stockings are stretched from below and above the blanks, and a “naked” area remains in the middle.
  • The space between the stockings must be smeared with PVA glue.
  • Next, the surface treated with glue should be sprinkled with grits. Which one is up to you to decide.

  • After the glue hardens, the blanks need to be glued and painted. For stability, you can make a cardboard stand and paint it in a suitable color.

This completes the manufacturing process.

From a metal pipe

If the edges of the metal pipe are evenly sawn off, then it is also suitable for our purposes. The best option is to prepare it immediately with a stand.

Below we consider one of the options for how to make a floor vase with your own hands from a pipe of this type:

  • First of all, the blank must be pasted over with ordinary toilet paper. In this case, small folds are allowed.
  • Then two layers of black paint should be applied to the paper.
  • After that, over the black paint, you need to apply varnish with bronze powder.
  • Additionally, the product can be decorated with beads or glass beads.
  • To complete the bottom, you will need mounting foam. The craft must be placed on a plastic stand and direct the stream of foam down. When the foam hardens, it can be tinted with spray paint.

Advice!
Unusual edges of the product can be made using a welding machine, simply by melting them.
As a result, they will turn into a fancy lace.

Of course, such a product is not intended for fresh flowers, since it will not be possible to pour water into the container, but the composition of dried flowers in such a vase will look very interesting.

From a cardboard tube

Manufacturers of linoleum, when packing it inside the roll, lay a pipe made of thick cardboard, which is an excellent material for making a vase. As always, to get an original result, you just need to show a little imagination.

Below we will consider one of the options for making a vase from a cardboard tube with your own hands. Before starting work, the following materials must be prepared for this product:

So, the work is done in the following order:

  • As in the case of plastic products, in order to make vases from pipes from linoleum with your own hands, you first need to cut a cardboard blank into three parts.
  • Next, all three parts must be glued with PVA glue and pulled together with copper wire.
  • Without waiting for the glue to dry, you need to stick masking tape on the joints.
  • After a day, when the glue finally hardens, the copper wire should be removed, after which the workpieces should be wrapped with a cloth dipped in PVA. In this case, you need to form folds.
  • When the fabric dries, it must be painted with bronze paint. You can use the composition in a spray can.
  • When the paint dries, you need to “walk” over the entire relief with acrylic gold paint to give the vase a shine.
  • At the end of the work, the vase can be decorated with twine or other decorative elements.

On this floor vase from a pipe from linoleum is ready. Of course, it is not necessary to perform all the steps exactly. Based on this idea, you can experiment and come up with your own product design.
