Crafts from plastic bottles for home and garden, new photo ideas. DIY flower pots: master class, photo How to make a pot from a plastic bottle

A great idea is to make a simple flower pot out of a plastic bottle. Home decoration with plants has been popular since ancient times. It is good when the house or apartment is spacious - you can be happy to cultivate flowers and greenery. But many of us have to make do with window sill space.

With the advent of products such as pots and flower pots, there are many more opportunities for interesting and original decoration of rooms. Finding a beautiful pot or planter is not an easy task. I would like to add that pots are suitable for both indoor plants and outdoor flowers.

Pots are mostly made from clay and plastic. Less commonly used plastic and ceramics. New clay pots are recommended to be immersed in water for 1 hour before planting flowers. Thus, gases and harmful salts formed during firing come out of the pores. As for the materials from which the pots are made, these are most often wood, ceramics, metal, plastic, rattan, polystone, glass. It is necessary to understand the difference between a flower pot and a planter:

The pot has special holes through which excess moisture comes out. Cache-pots do not have holes. Do not forget that 10-15 minutes after watering, the remaining water must be poured out.

The original planter with muzzles of cats is suitable for the garden and for the windowsill. Make this craft from bottles of different sizes (for example, 2 liters and 0.5 liters).

For work we need:

  1. Plastic bottles 2 liters and 0.5 liters.
  2. Markers.
  3. Acrylic paint or white spray paint.
  4. Scissors.

You need to cut off the bottom of the bottle, and then cut off the top so that you get cat ears.

Then we need to paint the resulting blanks with acrylic paint or spray paint.

The product must be dried and applied with markers. We draw a muzzle of a cat. You can use a template. The template is given in two versions: for a bottle of 2 liters and 0.5 liters.

When the product is ready, pour gravel on the bottom for drainage. Then we pour the earth and plant the plant. Such a planter can be made hanging - to do this, make holes on all four sides and thread 4 ropes of the same size into the holes. Tie all the ends together on the hook.

In such a simple way, you can make not only cats, but also other animals.

So our master class is over. Funny crafts from material that is usually thrown away.

Let's try to make an original planter out of ordinary plastic with our own hands. We have a shampoo bottle.

For work you will need:

  1. Shampoo bottle.
  2. Scissors.
  3. Knife for cutting bottles.
  4. Colored adhesive tape (can be replaced with tape).
  5. Hearts, beads.
  6. Clay Moment.
  7. Insulating tape.

With a knife, cut 2 holes in a plastic bottle. The hole is a long oval. To avoid sharp cuts, we process the holes with electrical tape. We decorate the neck and side parts with colored ribbon.

Floriculture has gained wide popularity. The owners of private houses are trying to equip a beautiful area in the garden that creates a great mood. Owners of apartments arrange entire mini-greenhouses. But no plant lover can do without a flower pot. Such a part can be easily purchased at the store. However, it is more interesting to make flower pots with your own hands. After all, such an item will not only emphasize your individuality, but will also become a real work of art.

Cloth decoration

If you are tired of boring old flowerpots, do not rush to throw them away. You can decorate beautifully. This is a very simple method that allows you to turn an ordinary container into an original piece of furniture.

For decoration you will need:

  • beautiful fabric;
  • old pot;
  • glue (possible PVA);
  • scissors;
  • centimeter;
  • hard brush.

And now let's look at step by step how to create such flower pots with your own hands:

  1. Measure the pot with a centimeter. From a piece of fabric, cut the appropriate blank. At the same time, add 10 cm to the hem of the fabric (top and bottom).
  2. Apply a thick layer of glue to the surface of the pot.
  3. Cover the container with cloth. Smooth out wrinkles very carefully.
  4. At the bottom, make cuts to the surface of the pot. Glue each piece to the base.
  5. Do the same with the rest of the top fabric. Glue them to the inner surfaces of the pot.
  6. Cover the flowerpot with acrylic varnish or a layer of glue. Be sure to let dry.

pot painting

To perfectly decorate flower pots with your own hands, you need to dream a little. Original flowerpots can be created using paints. A multi-colored palette can harmoniously decorate a winter garden or interior room.

You don't have to be an artist to create a unique masterpiece. For people who can't draw, you can use the following recommendations:

  1. If you use masking tape, you can create striped patterns.
  2. Pot "strawberry" is easy to make. Paint the surface of the flowerpot with red paint. Make the top ring of the pot green. Apply specks on the red surface. Try to distribute them evenly.
  3. To apply a drawing or pattern to a pot, use ready-made pictures. Copy the selected motif to the surface and only then proceed to staining.
  4. You can use ready-made stencils.

Decorating with cereals

This is another easy method to create beautiful DIY flower pots.

To create such a decor you will need:

  • plastic or ceramic pot;
  • piece of paper;
  • pencil;
  • carbon paper;
  • PVA glue;
  • tassel;
  • dry peas;
  • buckwheat;
  • small beans;
  • lentils;
  • poppy seeds;
  • rice groats;
  • flax seed.

It will help you understand how to create such flower pots with your own hands, a master class:

  1. On a piece of paper, draw a sketch that you want to transfer to the flowerpot. Multi-layered drawings look harmonious.
  2. Using carbon paper, transfer the sketch to the surface of the pot.
  3. Apply glue to one of the areas with a brush.
  4. Sprinkle the surface with the selected cereal. Try to keep it completely filled.
  5. Repeat these steps for all other areas.
  6. Be sure to let the glue dry. The unique product is ready.

Plastic bottle pot

The ability to make original objects out of ordinary or unnecessary things is a whole art. Such methods are often used to create furniture, decorative ornaments. Creating a flowerpot is an opportunity to bring original ideas to life.

Modern craftsmen offer to create flower pots with their own hands from bottles. An ordinary plastic flask in talented hands can become a real masterpiece. The resulting flowerpot will be a wonderful interior decoration and your pride.

So, let's look at how to create flower pots from plastic bottles with your own hands.

Initially, you should stock up with the necessary tools and blanks. This is:

  • plastic bottle;
  • scissors;
  • disk;
  • glue.

Now you can get to work:

  1. Cut the bottle in half with a sharp knife. The cut can be left straight. However, the top, decorated with a wavy line, will give originality to the flowerpot. An excellent solution would be to make flower “petals” from the upper edge. To do this, carefully mark the surface, make cuts and bend the resulting pieces.
  2. Glue the bottle cap to the surface of the CD with a glue gun.
  3. Paint the resulting design in the form of a glass with acrylic paint.

As you can see, it’s not at all difficult to create such flower pots from plastic bottles with your own hands.

Tin can - the basis of the flowerpot

Such material can be found in every home. You can use paint cans, cans. They make beautiful flower pots with their own hands. The photo allows you to get acquainted with interesting solutions.

Tall jars that used to contain pineapples or other fruits are excellent flowerpots. They must be removed from the labels, washed well and can be used for planting. The silvery surface will harmoniously fit into the interior, made in the style of minimalism, hi-tech.

If this decor does not suit your design, then the surface of the jars can be painted. And if you wish, you can depict any drawing on it.

Banks with low sides (after canned fish) can be used as follows:

  1. Wash the container thoroughly and remove the label.
  2. Put clothespins on the sides of the jar, combining them tightly.
  3. The wooden surface can be varnished, painted with paints.

Board pot

Using corrugated or thick cardboard, you can create a wide variety of flowerpots. They can be round, elongated. You can make flower pots with your own hands in a diamond-shaped or square configuration.

The main thing is to decorate them stylishly. A small flowerpot can be decorated with small thin sticks. To do this, apply glue to the surface of the cardboard. Then start gluing the sticks together tightly.

Complete the decor with ribbons, pieces of burlap and other details chosen at your discretion. Such a flowerpot looks not only original, but also stylish.

A good solution is to use pencils instead of dry sticks. Such a flowerpot will become an indispensable attribute of a creative workshop.

mini potted garden

An amazing solution will allow you to create a small "landscape" design in a flowerpot. Such an original design of flower pots with your own hands will not leave anyone indifferent.

To create you will need:

  • large flowerpot;
  • clay for modeling;
  • wooden thin plank;
  • cardboard;
  • toothpick;
  • reel left after scotch tape;
  • wooden sticks;
  • toothpick.

Working process:

  1. Draw the design of your mini-garden on a piece of paper.
  2. Garden paths are made of clay. To give them bends, use a stencil made according to a sketch. With a toothpick, draw lines imitating tiled masonry.
  3. For a bench, use a wooden plank. It is necessary to cut 4 boards from it (2 - for sitting, 2 - will be the back). The side parts are also made of clay.
  4. For the well, use a reel. It must be decorated with planks. Glue two long sticks on the inside. Place a corner roof on them.
  5. Wattle can be made from vines. Stick in a few twigs. Weave others between them. Make a small pot out of clay (you can use your little finger).
  6. It remains to plant the original plants. And the mini-garden is ready.

The original "little men"

There are many different options for decorating the garden. You can come up with a variety of flowerpots. Having created flower pots with your own hands for the garden in the form of "little men", you will make a real highlight of your landscape.

To make a decor you will need:

  • flower pots (plastic) of various sizes;
  • wire;
  • gouache;
  • brushes for gouache;
  • coffee cups;
  • leg-split.

Now let's move on to creativity. A master class will greatly help those who decide to make flower pots with their own hands:

  1. Choose the two largest flowerpots. Connect them with bases. Pull the wire through the holes and clamp it. This will be the head and torso of the future little man.
  2. Plastic cups will become hands. They are attached to the body with a wire or glued.
  3. To make the little man have legs, use twine or other twine. To do this, weave two pigtails.
  4. On the sides of the pot, which serves as the body, make cuts with a knife. Woven legs are threaded through them.
  5. Small plastic pots are put on pigtails. To do this, in such flowerpots, a hole is made in the middle. Flowerpot-man is ready.
  6. Now it remains to connect your imagination and take up the brush. Draw the person's face and clothes.
  7. After the gouache has dried, be sure to cover everything with varnish, otherwise the paints will leak.
  8. The hair of the little man will be the plants planted in the upper pot.

Stylish decor

A good example that allows you to understand how to make flower pots with your own hands from improvised materials is the following masterpiece.

You will need:

  • containers (pots, small buckets);
  • glue;
  • packing tape;
  • kapron tights;
  • tassel;
  • silver paint.

Working process:

  1. Degrease the surfaces of the containers. You can use dish detergent.
  2. Open the future flowerpots with a layer of glue.
  3. Wrap the first pot in random order with packing tape.
  4. For design work on the second flowerpot, cut the tights into thin strips. Lay out a variety of patterns on the surface of the pot.
  5. Be sure to let the pots dry. A flowerpot decorated with patterns (from tights) must be re-lubricated with glue.
  6. After drying, sprinkle them with silver paint.

original ideas

If you look around carefully, dream up a little, then great solutions will come to your mind.

A few design ideas:

  1. Old shoes can make great flowerpots. Rubber boots or slippers look original. This decor is used to decorate a summer house, a garden. In an apartment, it is not entirely appropriate.
  2. Unusual flowerpots can be made from old bags. This decor will look great on the fence, creating an amazing atmosphere.
  3. An unusual plant pot can be created from a teapot. Such a surface does not even need to be decorated. But if your soul strives for creativity, then after degreasing you can paint with acrylic paint. And then - embody your fantasies. Decorate with any items: beads, twine, buttons, shells, pebbles.
  4. A flower pot can be made from an old vinyl record. When heated, it easily changes shape. Take advantage of this property to give exclusive lines to your flowerpot.

Conclusion

Making flower pots can be a real treat. After all, interesting, original and unique things will be born in your hands. They will give your apartment or garden individuality and spontaneity.

Good day to all!

Do not be surprised, but these flower pots are made by me from plastic bottles and newspaper tubes.

Want to know how to make these? If yes, then let's get started.

So, you will need:

1. a plastic water bottle (I have a five-liter one, but you can take any, depending on what size of pot you need)

2. unnecessary newspapers, or rather tubes from newspapers.

3. a few wipes

4. lacquer, I have acrylic, but any construction or for thin will do. works

5. some putty

6. sandpaper

7. stationery glue stick

8. acrylic paints

9. acrylic outline for the pattern

10. grout for aging (I use oil paint)

We cut the bottle to the desired height, make holes at the bottom for water to drain. And the blank for our future pot is ready.

Then we will need to glue the workpiece with napkins.It is necessary to glue the napkins on the varnish!!! So the napkins will "tightly" stick to the plastic and the workpiece will not lose moisture resistance. Accuracy is not needed here, we do how it turns out. We dry.

All this is done so that later we can glue the blank with newspaper tubes. After all, it’s just that the tubes will not stick to plastic, but they will stick to napkins with ordinary stationery glue and very reliably!

The next step is to glue the blank with newspaper tubes. I won’t show how to twist tubes from newspapers, because. there is plenty of this information on the Internet and beginners in this business will find it without difficulty.

I glue the tubes on a regular glue stick. You can also glue on PVA, but the glue stick dries much faster and the newspaper does not get wet, so it’s more convenient to work with it. Glue the tubes in a circle, starting from the top edge. I fix the first 2 rows with clamps so that the tubes lie exactly along the edge. Then they lie down on their own as they should.

If necessary, we build up the tubes by inserting the thin end of the tube into the thick one so that the tube is "continuous".

We glue the entire outer side in this way, I do not glue the bottom. As a result, we get the following:

Inside, we glue the workpiece with tubes only along the upper edge, approximately to the "future ground level". As a rule, these are 3-4 rows of tubes. After the work with the tubes is completed, we varnish the product so that the newspaper becomes moisture resistant.

You can also use putty to level the bottom of the pot in order to completely "hide" the plastic bottle.

We dry the putty, and then lightly pass along the surface with sandpaper, cleaning out the bumps.

Now our pot has acquired thickness and relief. You can start painting and decorating.

I first cover the pot with paint, and then with an acrylic outline I make the desired pattern. I also use acrylic paint. Choose the color of your choice, I use white paint for the background of the pot and white for the outline.

I draw a pattern with a contour by hand, quite arbitrarily, I love various curls - it is simple and looks good! I will make horizontal stripes with curls here. First we draw stripes, then curls in them.

As you can see, no drawing skills are required for such a pattern, everyone can handle it. We dry.

Now our task is to give the pot a vintage, aged look. To do this, grout with dark paint. There are many materials for grouting and creating the effect of antiquity. Here I use oil paint as a grout, the color is natural umber.

Decorating your interior at home or garden with an original planter made of plastic bottles can be very simple! You do not have to make special efforts, besides, this option is also quite economical. The only thing you need here is your imagination, non-standard solutions and an ordinary plastic bottle!

This master class describes in detail the process of making an original planter in the form of a cute owlet.

For this you need:
- plastic bottle;
- scissors;
- marker;
- an owlet template, you can find it on the Internet or draw it yourself;
- acrylic paints;
- brush synthetics or columns;
- a piece of foam sponge;
- rope;
- acrylic paint for facade work (water emulsion),
- clear acrylic lacquer (required).
And so, let's get started...

A plastic bottle can be taken in any shade and size. For the master class, I took a two-liter bottle. Next, I cut the bottle in half. The lower part of the bottle will be the main one, if desired, it can be made higher. Here's what happened.

We put a pre-prepared template inside the planter and transfer its outline to plastic using an ordinary black marker.

It should look like this drawing.

In the manufacture of planters, you can use other animal patterns.

We determine how far below the muzzle of the owlet the rim of the product will go, while marking the place of the cut.

After that, carefully cut off the excess part of the material.

If the cache-pot is hanging, then we leave small loops, if not, we cut off exactly part of the rim. This is what the preparation looks like.

We make holes in the loops for the rope. Since this is a pot, special holes in the bottom are not required.

Before painting, the craft should be covered with a white water-based emulsion so that colored paints “lay down” well on the plastic.

I use a foam sponge for a dense, even coverage, as the surface will be bald when applied with a brush.

I carefully cover the entire outer part of the product, without touching the contour lines of the muzzle.

You will get such a surface, it is a little textured due to the thick consistency of the paint.

The result is something like this.

After applying the layer, the surface of the planter must dry completely. If desired, the procedure can be repeated.

Gradually drawing wings, eyes, a feather, etc.

Experiment with texture.

For the best contrast of some details, you can use a marker.

Here's what happened in the end.

After the painting has dried, we apply acrylic facade varnish to the entire surface of the outer walls of the cache-pot.

Such products have a different effect after drying (matte, silky-matte or gloss), you can choose at your discretion. This procedure is mandatory, because when spraying or watering, water will often get on the pots, and water is the main destroyer of these paints. They should cover the product in several layers, I cover in two. Each next layer will dry longer, consider this nuance!

After the pot cover is completely dry, it's time to thread the rope through the loops.

On the inside, it is necessary to make large knots so that the rope does not slip back.

This is how the craft will look without a flowerpot with flowers.

We insert a small vase with flowers into the pot.

That's all, the original planter made of plastic bottles is ready!

Very often you can see decorative sculptures on personal plots. This is not cheap in the store. But our enterprising people can always find an alternative to expensive goods. People with creative thinking and golden hands have learned to make garden sculptures themselves from available materials. For example, from car tires, PET containers, wood. This article tells how you can make a planter from plastic bottles in the form of a swan figurine and funny animal faces with your own hands. This work will not require a lot of effort and special costs. Based on this master class, everyone will be able to make an original flowerpot for growing flowers or cultivated plants from improvised means.

Swan planter from a plastic bottle. Preparation of materials for its manufacture

Before starting the creative process, make sure that you have all the necessary tools and materials. We present a list of them:

  • plastic container with a volume of 5 liters;
  • PET milk bottles with a volume of 300 milliliters of white color (about 20 pcs.);
  • a piece of rubber hose or metal-plastic pipe (60-70 cm);
  • wire thick and thin;
  • large strong scissors;
  • candle;
  • marker;
  • paint black and red;
  • household gloves.

When all these materials are prepared, you can start making planters from plastic bottles.

We form the frame of a garden sculpture in the form of a swan figurine

A five-liter container will be the basis of the cache-pot (the body of a swan). Since the purpose of this product is to grow plants in it, you need to make a container for the soil. Put a 5-liter bottle on its side, draw a plastic cut line in a circle with a marker. Mark the hole from the bottom of the container and almost to the neck.

Next, cut the plastic along the line with scissors. You get a bottle with a big hole on the side. Insert a thick wire into the hose or pipe. Place this design through the neck inside the container. Bend the part that remains on the surface, forming the swan neck of the figurine. Make two holes on the plastic next to each other with an awl or burn it with it, preheating it on fire. Pull a thin wire through these holes, grabbing the pipe, and twist its ends from the outside. This way you will secure the hose, which will make planters made of plastic bottles stable.

We make a "feather" for a swan from white PET containers

Cut off the bottom and necks of plastic milk containers. Cut the bottle bodies in length into 4-5 elements, approximately the same in width. On one side, cut the ends obliquely, giving the blanks the shape of feathers. Next, mark the places of the cuts on them with a marker to make a “fringe”, which will visually convey the structure of the pen. Complete this design with scissors. To make plastic planters from bottles in the form of birds look even more believable, you need to give the "feather" a rounded shape. To do this, hold the blanks over the candle for a few seconds. From heating, the plastic will begin to thaw, and the "fringe" will wrap. Make two holes on the finished feathers. Using a thin wire, connect these elements in pairs.

To decorate the neck of the figurine, we perform feathers differently. Remove only the bottom from milk bottles. Cut them into 4-5 strips, leaving the connection at the pebble. Next, proceed to the stage of attaching the "feather" to the frame of a planter made of plastic bottles

Decoration of the garden sculpture "Swan" from PET containers

Feather, connected in pairs, fasten with wire around the entire body of the figure, starting from the tail. Arrange the blanks so that they find one on top of the other. Wear plastic feathers made from bottles with necks around your neck. They should also overlap one on top of the other. Next, the swan needs to form a head. Pierce one blank with a neck in the thread area in two places. Attach the hose to it through the holes. Screw one or two more caps onto the cap from the milk bottle, placing them like parts of the pyramid. Screw the design around the neck of the last bottle around your neck. So you made a swan beak out of caps.

Draw eyes on the sculpture with black paint. Decorate the beak in red. The paint can be used acrylic, enamel for exterior work or any other waterproof. The plastic sculpture dries quickly. Within an hour, you can use home-made plastic flower pots from bottles for their intended purpose - pour soil into them and plant plants. Or, even easier, place flowerpots with an already growing flower in them. Next, choose a place on the site and install your decorative swan there. Such an original figurine will delight you and attract the attention of passers-by.

How to make small hanging planters from plastic bottles: preparation stage

For small-shaped flower pots, hanging planters can be made from 1.5-2 liter PET containers. How to do this, read the next part of the article.

According to this description, you can make a product in the form of animal faces. But according to the same principle, pots are also made with a different decorative design or without it at all. We prepare the following materials for work:

Small pots on pendants: making

Remove the label from the bottle, rinse off the remaining glue with hot water. Cut off the top of the container, it will not be needed in the work. Apply the template to the second half of the bottle, circle it with a marker. Trim the top of the product along the drawn lines, giving the planter the silhouette of an animal's head so that the ears stick out. On the sides of the workpiece, pierce holes through which the rope will be pulled. Paint the entire craft with white acrylic paint. Further, when it dries, decorate the features of the face with other colors: eyes, nose, mouth, mustache, ears. Pull the rope through the holes on the sides. Everything, a planter from a plastic bottle (hanging) is ready. Put a flower pot in it and place it in the intended place.
