Grundfos SQ borehole pumps are designed for individual water supply, small water and sprinkler installations, irrigation hydraulic systems. These are compact (3-inch) multi-stage centrifugal pumps that can be installed in wells that are slightly larger than the pump. They are used for pumping clean, non-aggressive liquids that do not contain solid particles or fibers, with temperatures from 0 to +35 °C (sand content is allowed no more than 50 g/m 3).

The working parts of the "SQ" pump are made of glass fiber reinforced polyamide (fiber content 30%). Thanks to the choice of such high-tech materials and the design of the pump, high efficiency is achieved with low energy consumption. Impellers with high-strength carbide bearing guarantee high wear resistance against abrasive media (sand) and significantly increase pump life. Starting the pump at very low back pressure can cause the impeller to move up along the axis of the pump shaft (“float”), which can lead to malfunction or even failure of the pump and motor. To protect against “floating”, the pump design has an upper thrust bearing.

The pumps are equipped with a single-phase (1×200-240 V, 50/60 Hz) Grundfos MS 3 submersible motor up to 1.85 kW, which is equipped with liquid lubricated plain bearings. The built-in electronic unit contains a frequency converter with soft start. The motor drive through the built-in frequency converter provides a constant speed of rotation. Soft start minimizes the risk of motor wear and prevents network overload during start-up. High efficiency is ensured by the use of permanent magnets in the electric motor.
