  3. We take a leaf, dip it in a container with water and apply it to a pencil;
  4. We take the next leaf and repeat the procedure again and again until we completely cover the entire surface of the pencil with small paper sheets - the result should be a thin layer of paper coating;
  5. Lubricate the layer with glue;
  6. We impose on top in this way about 3-4 layers;
  7. The result is the body of the future magic wand;
  8. We leave papier-mâché to dry for a day;
  9. We take out the pencil in the film from the center;
  10. We close the hole with a small layer of wet paper in the same way as before;
  11. We leave the stick to dry;
  12. We apply paint, drawings, natural wooden stains to the paper structure and let the decor dry;
  13. We cover the product with varnish.

For an ordinary magic wand, two sheets of thick drawing paper will suffice. They must be rolled into a cone. One sheet of paper may not be enough - the stick will be short. So twist the two cones and insert one into the other. Since there will be additional decoration on the stick, try to roll the cone as narrowly as possible. To prevent it from falling apart, secure the free ends of the cones with PVA glue.

After the cone is ready, run the wires through it so that the switch is in the handle of the cone.

Cut off the excess wires and solder the LED bulb contacts to them. As a result, it should clearly fit at the end of the stick. At the location of the switch, cut a hole for the switch with a clerical knife.

Carefully fill the cone itself with hot glue. Attach the light bulb to the outside of the end of the magic wand and the switch. Do this work yourself. Working with hot glue requires skill. Plus, they get burned easily. When filling the cone, work with the glue in stages, periodically letting it cool completely.

Working with glue on the outside, shape it after it cools down a bit. So the wand will look neater.

Step 3: Forming and Preparing to Paint

After the glue has dried, we also draw volumetric patterns on the outside of the stick.

As the glue dries, it is necessary to start preparing the surface. Ideally, a white primer should be applied. If not, regular white acrylic paint will do.

Step 4: painting and aging

Paint the entire stick brown with a brush. After the paint has dried, you can give the wand an authentic vintage look.

Take black acrylic paint, dilute it a little with water and use a brush to drive it into a stick.

Wipe the main convex parts of the stick with a damp cloth. As a result of such manipulations, black paint will remain in the irregularities on the surface, giving visual depth.

Cover convex patterns with golden paint and also remove some of the paint with a napkin. Leave the stick to dry completely.

6. We cut off the edges of the stick evenly, put balls from an ordinary napkin inside (this is to reduce the amount of hot melt in the future).

7. From the second sheet, cut off 1/3 of the short side for the handle of the magic wand.

8. Glue this part to one end of the stick, slightly pushing the edge of the strip (we create volume for the bead).

9. This is how the handle of a magic wand looks like without a bead.

10. In the hole of the handle, where the ball from the napkin is already inserted, we drip a large drop of hot glue.

11. Immediately put a bead on the glue (it can be of any color, but the diameter of the bead should be slightly larger than the diameter of the handle).

12. Lay a thin "stream" of hot glue along the edge of the bead - this is the lower edge of the magic wand.

13. Along the edge of the stick handle (where the thickening of the paper ends), we make a circular stroke with glue.

14. Then, along the very edge of the magic wand handle, we make a stroke again. We constantly twist the stick in our hands so that the glue does not stack on one side. On the long end of the stick we make a patterned spiral with a very thin strip of glue.

15. At the thin end of the stick, we strengthen the long bead in the same way.

16. When the glue is completely dry, we will paint the stick. We use acrylic paints for this.

17. For the wand handle, we chose dark brown paint. You can paint with a regular soft brush for children's drawing. Let the painted end of the stick dry completely.

18. We paint the thin end of the stick with cream paint, and also let it dry. The magic wand is ready. If desired, it can be covered with a colorless varnish and make more decorations.
