Purpose of road plates

Road slabs are widely used in the construction of roads for trucks and high tonnage vehicles, and are also used for the construction of airfields.

The weight of road slabs reaches 4.3 tons. The vehicle loading rate is 4-12 slabs. Road and airfield slabs PD, PAG-18 and PAG-14 are capable of operating under conditions of increased loads, see.

Types of road plates - 2P, 2PD, PD, PDN

There are two types of PAG, which are different in thickness and size. Initially, these slabs were used for the construction of airfields, so there could be no doubt about their durability and reliability. During their production, only high-grade concrete and a reinforced frame made of reinforcement are used, which enhances the positive characteristics of wear resistance.

Another undoubted advantage of airfield slabs is their corrugated surface, which increases the performance of the coating. So far, our country has preserved the polygons laid out by them, back in the days of the Soviet Union, but still retaining their excellent characteristics.

Laying is carried out using an onboard crane-manipulator.

In recent decades, this type of product has often been used for arranging temporary access roads. Much of this popularity is due to the ease of installation. Preliminary preparation consists in leveling the soil and arranging a sand cushion. They are laid on this prepared surface. It does not take much time for such work, and immediately after they are carried out, the temporary road can be operated.

The undoubted advantage of road slabs is their possibility for re-laying in the future. That is, temporary roads can be easily dismantled and new ones can be laid in their place, which will significantly save time and money.

Stages of laying road slabs

There are basic stages in the construction of roads that must be strictly observed:

  • The top layer of soil is cut off to remove all bumps and potholes.
  • Sand is brought in. It is best to use quarry sand, since it is not as creeping and dusty as river sand. In addition, this type of sand is easier to compact.
  • The sand is leveled over the entire width of the road, the layer thickness is approximately 15-20 centimeters.
  • Sand is spilled with water and rammed with a vibrating plate. Backfilling and tamping must be controlled with a level or rope beacon, which is stretched along the level. The resulting pillow should be perfectly flat, this is especially important at this stage.
  • Road slabs are laid on the prepared sand cushion. During laying, the trailing loops of the slabs must be welded on the sides so that there is no spreading of the slabs in the future. The voids are filled with concrete or cement mortar. This provides the road with a level surface.
  • If desired, from above, the road is covered with asphalt in order to exploit it for a long time. Asphalt will serve as a protection for reinforced concrete from the negative effects of the environment.

It is categorically not allowed to lay road slabs on the ground without a prepared sand cushion. In this case, the road will not withstand more than two seasons of work, and its construction will have to start from scratch.

Road slabs are an inexpensive durable material for laying temporary and permanent roads, arranging access roads and territories of seaports, embankments. Made from reinforced concrete, slabs are a good alternative to asphalt pavement. They provide:

  • minimum time for laying the roadway,
  • lower costs for preparation, alignment and other work cycles,
  • simplified scheme of dismantling and repair,
  • the possibility of laying at any time of the year.

Dismantled from one object, the slabs can be reused. Designed for high loads and adverse external influences, even after several years of operation, they retain the integrity of the structure and are suitable for covering a parking lot for special equipment or laying foundations for household structures. You can buy used road slabs 40-50% cheaper than new ones, which allows you to reduce the budget without losing the quality of the material.

Trest ZhBI LLC produces a wide range of road slabs of various sizes, from small ones - 1P 30-15-30 and 2P 30-15-30 to large ones - PDN 60-20 (30). At the same time, the price of road slabs is determined not only by the size, but also by the type of product:

The range of road slabs of the PD brand includes prefabricated reinforced concrete prestressed slabs and slabs with non-tensioned reinforcement, made of heavy concrete and intended for the installation of assembly pavements for temporary industrial roads.

PD road slabs are used for operation in areas with an estimated outdoor temperature (the average coldest five-day period of the construction area according to SNiP 2.01.01) up to -40 ° C inclusive.

PD road slabs are rectangular slabs. The working surface of the slabs (the upper surface of the road surface) must be corrugated, and the slabs produced by this upward surface must be rough. By agreement with the consumer, it is allowed to manufacture PD plates with grooves for loopless mounting or with holes for collets instead of mounting loops and niches for them. At the same time, in prestressed slabs for permanent roads, instead of mounting loops, it is necessary to install brackets. Plates for temporary roads are made without mounting brackets. It is allowed not to arrange niches for mounting brackets in these plates. The number of holes for collets and their location is determined based on the technology of manufacturing plates and their installation.

Specifications for the manufacture of PD road slabs were developed in series 3.503.1-93 "Pavements with prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs for temporary industrial roads".

PD slabs should be made of heavy concrete grades M400 - M800 with an average density of more than 2200 to 2500 kg / m3 inclusive, compressive strength class - B30. Concrete must meet the requirements of GOST 26633.

For the preparation of concrete, Portland cement should be used in accordance with GOST 10178 with additional requirements for concrete pavements. It is allowed to use Portland cement according to TU 21-20-51-83. Aggregates - in accordance with GOST 26633 (grain size of coarse aggregate is not more than 20 mm).

Concrete grades for frost resistance and water resistance for slabs intended for permanent roads in areas with an average monthly design temperature of the coldest month (according to SNiP 2.01.01): up to -5 ° C - F 100 and W 2; below -5°C to -15°C - F 150 and W 4; below -15 ° C - F 200 and W 4. Grades of concrete for frost resistance and water resistance for slabs intended for temporary roads in areas with an average monthly design temperature of the coldest month: up to -5 ° C - F 75 and W 2; below -5°C to -15°C - F 100 and W 2; below -15°C - F 150 and W 2.

As longitudinal and transverse working reinforcement of PD plates, rods of a periodic profile made of low-alloyed open-hearth hot-rolled steel of class A-III should be used. For the manufacture of mounting loops, smooth rods are used from hot-rolled carbon steel of class A-I.

Road slabs, the sizes of which can be different, are quite common today in the construction of transport branches. They are actively used in the creation of roads, autobahns, as well as highways. They are able to maintain their quality characteristics over a fairly wide temperature range, do not lose strength even at -40 0 C. Their use guarantees the reliability and long service life of the road surface.

Road slab dimensions

Depending on the brand, the plates may have different sizes and, of course, prices. So, the PD 60X12 plate has dimensions of 6000x1200x220 mm, its weight is 3.39 tons. While the plate of the PD 3-23 brand has dimensions equal to 3000x1500x220 mm, its weight is 2.42 tons. There are plates that have holes for the hatch, for example, PD 6 (s), its dimensions are 2500x1750x220 mm, and its weight is 2.3 tons. In general, plates that have holes for the hatch can have different sizes, among them 2800x2000x220 mm can be distinguished, while the weight is 2.5 tons.

State quality standards

Under mechanical influences, road slabs should not lose their qualities. Dimensions, GOST are taken into account when laying roads with a certain load. So, if the stove is produced without taking into account standards, then using it is at least inefficient, and for the most part it is unsafe.

Road slabs should be flat, based on concrete reinforced with steel elements. They are used when necessary to equip the road, whether it is temporary or permanent. These products are manufactured in accordance with GOST 21924.0-84, which involves the manufacture of a plate that is used in the construction of urban roads. In this case, the reinforcement in it is prestressed. There is another GOST 21924.2-84, which is used for the manufacture of slabs with non-stressed reinforcement. These products form the basis of permanent or temporary coatings.

Road slabs, dimensions, GOST and the purpose of which are marked on the product, may have different characteristics. So, if the product is intended for the construction of a permanent road, then in its marking you can see the designation "1P". Whereas the slabs that are intended to form temporary roads are designated as "2P". The manufacturer divides products according to performance. For example, a slab marked "2P 30-18.30" can be used to create a temporary coating, the load on which does not exceed 30 tons, but the operating temperature should not fall below -40 ° C. If there is a need to use a slab for laying a permanent or temporary road, then you can use the one that has the marking "PDP 3x1.5". The load in this case must correspond to the specific one used in the formation of the plate. To create a permanent coating, the load on which will not exceed 300 tons, and the temperature range during operation will not fall below -40 ° C, you can use a product marked "1P30-18.30". If a line is required, then the PR-3 plate should be used in operation, it is resistant to high temperatures.

Products for use in difficult conditions

Road slabs, the dimensions of which were described above, can also be used when laying roads that will be exposed to particularly aggressive external influences, for example, a temperature of -55 ° C. These qualities correspond to the plate brand "PDN", which has a fairly strong frame.

State standards for concrete

Road slabs, the dimensions of which were described in detail in the article, must be made from a material whose qualities are dictated by GOST. Thus, the product must be based on heavy concrete. It is poured into the formwork, which is pre-supplied with metal reinforcement, it (in certain brands of plates) is subjected to advance stress.

Road slabs, the weights of which were mentioned above, are made using M-350, as well as B30 M400. The technology of the work is not complicated and does not involve the use of expensive equipment. It provides for the preparation of a form, which first goes through the stage of cleaning and processing in the area of \u200b\u200bthe walls with a special composition to simplify the stripping process. A pair is laid in the form and fixed in order to exclude displacement and maintain the required distance. After the master, they proceed to which, until the moment of solidification, the compaction process takes place by means of mechanical vibrators.

Heat treatment of concrete according to GOST

In order for the road slabs, the dimensions of which will clearly correspond to the shape taken during pouring, to be durable, they are subjected to heating in the next stage, which takes place in a heat chamber. The completion of the manufacturing process is accompanied by the removal of the product from the mold, quality analysis and subsequent marking. The first thing the craftsmen pay attention to is the smoothness of the surface.

Features of laying according to GOST

The quality of the road slab must comply with what is regulated by GOST. In addition to the already mentioned characteristics, it can be noted that the products are very easy to install. The main plus is that the road does not involve complex preparation. This stage provides only the need for marking and alignment. In addition, it is necessary to lay a sand cushion, the thickness of which should be in the range from 15 to 20 cm. After that, the slab is mounted, and we can assume that the road is ready.

Road, the dimensions of which can be different and are indicated above, have another advantage over traditional asphalt. It consists in the fact that the reinforced concrete product is quite easy to dismantle if necessary. At the same time, the slab will not lose its operational characteristics, and in the future the product can even be used when laying a new road in another place. This is especially true when there is a need to equip a temporary road on the territory of military camps or construction sites.

The dependence of the price of plates on their size

Road slabs (PD), the sizes of which can be different, and cost differently. For example, a plate of brand 2P 30-18-30, the size of which is 3000x1750x170 mm, has a price of 5900 rubles. But the product of the brand 2P 30-18-10 has dimensions of 3000x1200x170 mm and costs 5881 rubles. The product of the brand PD 6 has dimensions in the range of 2500x1750x220 mm, and its cost is more impressive and amounts to 11,129 rubles.

Finally

Concrete road slabs, the dimensions of which are universal, since they can be different and calculated for coatings with different loads and different external conditions, have a fairly large margin of safety. They are used in industrial construction, and they are almost never used by private consumers, although their price is acceptable. Concrete slabs, whether intended to be used temporarily or permanently, will be subjected to heavy loads, not only in terms of machinery, but also external loads during freezing and thawing, especially during spring and autumn, when temperature differences can be impressive during one day. Water that gets into the cracks freezes at night and makes the crack even bigger. That is why concrete is used in production, which must be made according to the rules.
