Principle of operation

According to the rules of induction, the temperature indicators of the liquid medium increase. The ions travel from the positive electrodes to the negative ones, which in turn exchange poles, causing the ions to vibrate and, as a result, generate energy.


As it becomes clear, the role of the heater with which the Galan heating boilers interact is performed by the liquid.

Advantages

The main advantage of such units is their efficiency, which exceeds that of heating elements by 40%. This became possible because it was possible to reduce the heat loss during the heating of the intermediate material.

Requirements

The coolant used must have an appropriate specific conductivity (in this case, 2950 - 3150 Ωxcm at a temperature of 20 ° C). It is recommended to start the boiler on a special non-freezing liquid Argus-Galan. If it is decided to use distilled water, it must be added with salt at the rate of 5 g of salt per 100 liters of liquid.


In order for Galan high-quality electrode boilers to serve for a long time and efficiently, the heating system must be closed, two-pipe (diameter 32 - 40 mm) with an upper spill, open type, with a supply riser at least 2 m high and the amount of coolant at the rate of 12 liters per 1 kW . Such a scheme will enable the unit to fully perform its functions.

Scope of application

Electrode boilers are able to efficiently and efficiently heat rooms, the total area of ​​​​which varies from 80 to 800 m². The best for this purpose are the product series "Headh", "Geyser", "Volcano" with a working power of 2 to 25 kW.


These products are characterized by compact dimensions and low weight (from 1.5 to 5.7 kg). The average service life of such heat generators is at least 5 years.

Contraindications

This type of equipment is not suitable for connection to the heating system of underfloor heating, greenhouses, swimming pools, flights of stairs and roofs. It is not used in tandem with cast iron radiators and galvanized pipes. Above such a boiler, it is not recommended to mount pipes made of polypropylene or metal-plastic.

Overview of electrode boilers

In order to better understand the technical characteristics of the electrode units, consider their features for each individual model.

This series of products is represented by samples, the power of which is 2, 3, 5, 6 kW. Their dimensions are quite compact (height from 275 to 335 mm with a diameter of 35 mm). The maximum weight of the device does not exceed 1.1 kg.



Boilers "Ochag" are suitable for heating small rooms (up to 200 m³). Please note that the selection of Galan heat generators is carried out, starting not from the area, but from the volume of the building. For a system in which such a unit is integrated, 20 - 70 liters of coolant are needed. Electricity consumption is at the level of 0.5 - 1.5 kW / h.

A more powerful class of devices operating in a three-phase network. Their weight is much greater than that of the previous series (up to 5.3 kg), respectively, and the dimensions are larger (height 360 - 410 mm, diameter - 130 mm).


This line includes two models with a capacity of 9 and 15 kW, capable of heating 340 and 550 m³ of space. Here, from 50 to 200 liters of coolant will be required, and the electricity consumption will be 2.5 - 4 kW / h.

The most powerful representative of electrode boilers manufactured by Galan. This series includes two models (25 and 50 kW), which operate from a 380 V network. The dimensions of the "Volcano" are quite impressive in comparison with the two previous series (height 460 - 570 mm, diameter 130 - 180 mm, weight 5.7 - 11 .5 kg).


Such units are installed in large rooms (up to 1650 m³). For the correct operation of such a system, 150-300 liters of coolant and 6.6 kW / h of electricity are required.

Heating elements

The heating elements of this type of boilers are made of high quality stainless steel. They can be both several and one. The kit also includes electronic or electromechanical control (optional). The models of the units "Ochag", "Geyser", "Volcano" are suitable for working with a single-phase and three-phase network.


Installation of the product is greatly simplified by connecting the terminal box to the supply wires and connecting the ground. The weight of the product, depending on the model, ranges from 3 to 10 kg. By analogy with electrode devices, this type of heat generator is suitable exclusively for closed heating systems.

Enhanced version

Manufacturers have divided a more advanced version of heating elements for large houses and industrial premises into two series: Stealth and Galax. In both cases, the electrical heating appliance has the shape of a rectangular cabinet, which is suspended from the wall. The first (budget) version is limited only to the main elements (a tank with heating elements and an automatic control unit).

The luxury version ("Galax") is additionally equipped with a circulation pump, a coolant flow controller, a safety valve, a pressure gauge and an air bleeder. All this filling allows this unit to successfully compete with imported equipment.

Scope of application

Heating with Galan boilers of this type can be carried out in private and multi-apartment residential buildings. The units are suitable for connection to the "warm floor" system. They work great where a multi-displacement heating scheme is involved, and also interact well with the heater.


They are also used to heat roofs and downpipes, open areas and steps from which snow or ice must be removed.

And of course, such devices with a capacity of 3-30 kW will be indispensable in classic heating systems installed in rooms with a total area of ​​70-750 m².

Connection and operation

Galan heating boilers are connected according to one of four types, including:

  1. Standard wiring diagram.
  2. Modular connection.
  3. Parallel connection diagram.
  4. Installation of a boiler for floor heating.

The most common ways of tying the boiler are the first and third. To carry out the installation of the unit to a common heating system, it is necessary to determine the installation location (niche). Next, using a comb, you need to connect the pipes of the heat exchanger to the pipeline through which the coolant will circulate.

Modern equipment is equipped with systems for monitoring and discharging excess air, which will allow normal operation and eliminate the possibility of breakdowns.
Please note that Galan heating boilers are a type of equipment that needs electrical power, therefore, for its uninterrupted operation, it is advisable to connect a UPS (inverter).

6. When inserting the boiler into the operating system, flushing with the Protector inhibitor is mandatory. Salt deposits (during previous operation with ordinary water) on the elements of the system will not allow you to correctly adjust the density of the coolant for the electrode boiler.

7. The heating system with an electrode type boiler, in the Galan-BeeRT configuration, is refueled only distilled water, with further density selection.

8. In case of low voltage in the electrical network (200v and lower when the boiler is on), it is necessary to use a current normalizer of the appropriate power.

9. Terminal "0" of the boiler must be grounded.

10. Strictly adhere to the installation instructions (location in the room) of the external climate control device. The correct and economical operation of the entire system depends on this.

11. Strictly adhere to the manufacturer's recommendations for the volume of the system - no more than 12l / 1kW of power (ideally 8-10l / 1kW)

12. The electrode boiler can work in the "warm floor" system, subject to the manufacturer's recommendations for the installation scheme.

13. A properly selected circulation pump will ensure efficient distribution of the coolant throughout the system and correct ionization process in the boiler chamber.

14. The presence of a safety group (pressure gauge, blast valve, deaeration valve) at the top of the system is mandatory.

15. Boiler body, sensor mounting points, boiler unit piping, riser are packed in a heat insulator of the Mirelon type or similar.

16. Aluminum radiators from some manufacturers have a "dirty" alloy. Some components of such alloys dissolve over time and change the resistivity of water, clog the boiler electrodes. In this case, it is recommended to add a special additive "Flow" to the solution, or use a sludge and air separator in the heating system.

19. ATTENTION! When tightening the nuts on the terminals for connecting the cable to the boiler electrodes, use only two wrenches. Hold the locknut with one wrench, tighten the clamping nut with the other. Carefully monitor the fixation of the electrode and prevent it from turning in the landing sleeve. If the electrode is rotated, or the fixing nut is tightened, the landing sleeve bursts and the electrode becomes unusable. This problem is a violation of the installation rules and is not covered by the warranty.
