How to make a decorative mirror with your own hands. DIY mirror decor: creating an original element for decorating a room. Requirements for framing mirrors for different rooms

    Two more big advantages of this glue: it is diluted with water, it can be fixed with heat treatment, that is, with an iron.

    With decoupage, I decorate the mirror on both sides. I really like to design all my products this way.

    Step 4: Aging

    For such jewelry work, a round, foam rubber brush 13 mm was very useful to me: it has a fine porous structure, therefore, when tamponing paint on the edge of the product, this brush perfectly blends it. What is also important in it is a wooden stick-holder, thanks to which the fingers remain clean and, turning the mirror in your hands during tamponing, you can forget that inadvertently something will get dirty in the center of the product! Convenient, practical, simple thing.

    When the preparatory layer for aging is applied with the color of English Red along the edge of the mirror, I take up the bituminous varnish. After washing the foam brush under water, dried it on a napkin and now applied bituminous varnish on it. With patting movements, I easily apply bituminous varnish to the edges of the mirror, after two minutes I shade it with a rag, stretching it to the center and weakening the color saturation. If necessary, bituminous varnish can be applied again to make the edge of the product expressive, to emphasize the curved lines of the mirror. I leave the product to dry for about a day.

    Step 5 Varnishing

    The product must be varnished after it has completely dried. How to define it? The product stops sticking to the fingers. For varnishing the mirror, I chose a semi-matt varnish. It will give the mirror the feeling that it has just been restored, restored to its ancient value. I lacquer the product on both sides, on the sides and in its cut-out parts. I let it dry for a day or two, then to start using it for its intended purpose.

    Decoupage of the mirror in vintage style is finished! We fasten the mirror, which we removed almost at the very beginning of work. You can choose any of the decorated sides or, with a little effort, make a double-sided mirror.

    P.S. Many thanks to the Tair company for excellent materials at an affordable price - this is important for an artist!

We live in an era of formation and popularization of the author's design of premises of any type. The standard finishes of apartments and household items are no longer fashionable. The real chic is the presence in the room of hand-made items - planters, vases, lamps and chandeliers. Well, a mirror in a beautiful frame, which was created by the owner of the house, is a real masterpiece!

Do-it-yourself designer mirror frame - the advantages of such a mirror design are obvious - you can choose the size of the frame and its design in accordance with the general style of the interior, and the mirror will not resonate with the environment, it will become an integral part of it.

What materials can be used

The decor of any piece of furniture with your own hands is a game of fantasy and imagination. But in this case it is very easy to “overdo it” and overdo it, carried away by creativity. For finishing and decorating a mirror, it is better to use one type of material. For example, if you decide to make a frame from the remains of ceiling plinths, then you do not need to add parts from another material to the design. They may be structurally incompatible and difficult to connect, and the construction may be heavy.

The frame for the mirror can be of a familiar design, or it can also be made in the form of stucco molding from any materials at hand, in the form of a mosaic directly on the surface of the mirror itself. There are a lot of design options for this item, and the most important thing is to choose one of the ways.

How and from what to make a frame for a mirror

Before you start working on the author's frame for the mirror, you need to carefully consider all the steps, prepare everything you need during work - materials, accessories, tools, measure the mirror and, of course, make a sketch of the future masterpiece. To create a sketch, you need a pencil, an eraser, a ruler, a triangle and a pattern, a drawing paper of the appropriate size. It is better to create a drawing and a drawing in full size and “in color” so that you can “try it on” on a mirror.

To work, you will need a table and tools - a saw or a knife, wire cutters and a hammer, glue, paints, brushes, finishing elements (beads, shells, buttons, mosaic glass), if they are supposed to be used, a construction stapler or small carnations. Small parts should be laid out in containers so that they do not crumble and interfere with creativity, and for brushes it is best to prepare a glass or a jar of solvent so that they do not dry out.

Advice! To create a frame, the remains of building or finishing materials are suitable - drywall, facing tiles, plinths, rails.

In design studios, you can see mirror frames made of the most unusual materials - clothespins, cutlery, knitting needles, inexpensive jewelry, tiles with images of family members printed on its surface, fragments of broken porcelain dishes, plastic, packaging from CDs, sweets or cigarettes, sequins and disposable spoons, newsprint or magazine paper, dried flowers. The flight of fancy in how to decorate a mirror with your own hands is absolutely unlimited, as long as the materials are combined and look harmonious with the interior of the room.

Skirting board frame

Very often, after repairs, trimmings of skirting boards, wallpaper and other finishing materials remain in the house. Zealous and creative owners never throw away this "garbage", but create real masterpieces from it, which can be both boasted and proud of. For example, a frame for a mirror from ceiling plinths turns out to be very beautiful, and it is very simple to make it.

The material is quite inexpensive and durable, it is easy to cut and glue, in most cases the ceiling plinth is already beautifully designed. In addition, it can be painted with almost all types of paints and even “aged”.

To work with the plinth, you will need a jigsaw or a regular file, a ruler and a pencil, acrylic paint, a brush, glue, putty, gypsum is best. To protect the desktop, it is necessary to prepare a covering material - it can be old newspapers or wallpaper trimmings.

From the plinth, you need to prepare the frame parts in accordance with the dimensions of the mirror. You can pre-attach the mirror to the base of plywood or thick cardboard. It is much easier to attach the frame to the base than to the glass surface. The details of the frame must match not only in size, the pattern on the plinth must be adjusted so that the lines of one part smoothly merge into the lines of another.

After the glue has dried at the joints of the frame, you need to cover its surface with putty to hide the traces of gluing and “refine” the pattern. After the putty has completely dried, you can start painting. There are a lot of ways to finish such a frame - you can highlight the pattern on the plinth with a contrasting color, you can artificially age the frame with paint, or you can paint it in one color, in a classic style.

mosaic frame

Creating a mosaic is an amazingly fascinating type of needlework, art. A mosaic frame for a mirror is sophistication, uniqueness and practicality in one bottle. The advantages of such a mirror design are ease of use, low cost of materials, because you can create a mosaic even from fragments of broken dishes. Fragments of dishes, and fragments of tiles, jewelry, colored glass are suitable for work.

The mirror is attached to the base, it can be a sheet of plywood or chipboard. The base must be larger than the plane of the mirror. Mosaic elements will be attached to the protruding part of the wooden base with glue and a glue gun.

In addition to a special gun, you will need pliers to form parts of the mosaic, and a special grout that will fill the gaps between the fragments. You will also need a spatula for applying grout, a soft sponge to remove traces of grout from the surface of the frame, and, of course, imagination and a little patience.

Unusual mirror frame design ideas

Not everyone likes the simplicity in the design of the mirror. Many are looking for and find non-standard design solutions for this piece of furniture. For example, they decorate frames of an unusual shape with rhinestones, coins in country style, vintage or Provence.

To decorate a mirror in the style of a la America of the 60s, small pieces of colorful textiles, cereals or pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, which are glued onto a wooden or plastic base, are suitable.

Advice! The frame pasted over with figures of fish, shells and colored pebbles will remind you of a vacation by the sea. But in order to “hold” such heavy objects on the base, you need to use a “serious” adhesive base, paint primer or double-sided tape.

Serious materials require a serious approach to working with them. An unusual shape of jewelry will require a longer time investment. The voids between the elements must be filled with sealant or putty so that dust does not accumulate between them. And caring for such a frame will be more difficult, because many materials cannot be washed with water and detergents.

A mirror is not only a necessary item in everyday life, without which people would not be able to put themselves in order on their own, but also an element that allows you to complement and enliven any interior.

Therefore, designers often use original mirrors to create coziness in the house, or vice versa, to add a touch of luxury and sophistication to the decor. Of course, such author's things are not cheap, but if there is a love for creativity, then you can make a unique item yourself in just one evening, and it will cost much less, you will only need to spend on materials.

You can decorate both a small and a large mirror without a frame, and a new one, and even an old one, and how to do this is described in detail in the article.

Basic rules and principles

You can decorate a mirror in many ways, it all depends on your imagination, skills and the room where it will hang in the future. However, the decorative elements will still be located either on the reflective surface itself or on the frame that will be attached. And and the very basis of the frame can also be made by hand.

If the item already has a frame, then you can not remove it, but give it a new look. You can also buy a ready-made frame made of wood or plastic and decorate it as you wish.

But before choosing a decoration technique, decide what role the item will play in the interior. Should the thing organically fit into the existing aesthetics, or will it become a bright unusual element, or will you use several mirrors at once, and then all of them will be a single piece.

Then you should think about how well you own different hande-made techniques. With the talent of an artist, you can create a real masterpiece from an ordinary thing.. But if there is little experience, it is better to choose an original, but easy-to-implement idea.

Home decor ideas and styles

It is necessary to decorate the mirror so that the decoration does not fall off the next day.

If the item will hang in the bathroom, where water is constantly pouring, then you need to understand that you need glue that will not collapse under the influence of moisture. The same applies to things chosen for decoration - in this case, paper flowers will definitely not work, they will quickly lose their shape, the material absorbs water.

If you decide to create pictures directly on the surface, you need to purchase paints that are designed for painting on glass. Also consider choosing an adhesive if you need to join different types of materials, such as wood and rubber. There are a lot of decor ideas. Mirrors are decorated in different styles:

  1. Loft.
  2. Ethno.
  3. Scandinavian style.
  4. Classic style.
  5. Provence.
  6. Village.
  7. Industrial style.
  8. High tech.
  9. Art believe.

For each style, certain materials are chosen.

Based on all of the above, you can choose any decorating method from our list, or come up with something of your own based on the principles of working with mirrors.

How can you decorate with improvised materials?

When working, remember that harmony is needed in everything., take your time with the selection and gluing of parts, as you can ruin the surface. The mirror can be arranged in the following ways.

Paper sticks or tubes

The option is great for round-shaped mirrors. This technique makes the thing look like the sun or a flower. Using paper, you can create a white, gold or silver frame. And colored straws from the juice will make this piece of furniture bright and unique.

Required to work:

  • mirror;
  • thick cardboard, better corrugated;
  • glue gun;
  • paint in a can;
  • strong rope for the eyelet and ribbon.

The most important element is the straws, you can use the ones made for cocktails or roll them by hand from newspapers or fashion magazines with glossy pages.

Here is what the process looks like:

  1. To make a frame, you will need a base on which you can glue everything. From the cardboard you need to cut two circles, one should match the diameter of the mirror, make the second two to three centimeters larger.
  2. Heat the glue gun, glue the mirror to the first circle. Wait for a while, then connect the mirror with the backing to the second piece so that you get a round cardboard frame.
  3. Using scissors, make the tubes the same length. To decorate this piece of furniture, glue them at a small distance from each other on a decorative frame so that you get a figure that looks like a sun.
  4. In between the large tubes, glue the parts shorter. These tubes can be the same or different lengths.
  5. Flip the mirror over and attach the eyelet also with hot glue.
  6. Spray paint this side of the item. Leave for a few hours.
  7. Turn over and repeat the steps, covering the reflective surface itself with a circle of paper. Also, wait for the paint to dry.
  8. If paint gets on the glass, wipe with solvent.
  9. Paint the ribbon the same color. When all the parts are dry, glue the tape to hide the edges of the tubes along the edge of the mirror.
  10. The product can be hung in a day.

plastic spoons

The mirror surface, surrounded by a large number of inexpensive plastic spoons, looks original and modern. This frame option also harmonizes with round objects.. Spoons can be painted in any color. Take:

  • corrugated cardboard;
  • hot glue;
  • 100-200 plastic spoons;
  • aerosol and acrylic paints;
  • rope for a loop;
  • ribbon for decoration.

The process is simple:

  1. Cut out a large cardboard circle, its diameter should be seven to ten centimeters larger than the mirror itself. Excess can be trimmed before painting.
  2. Make a loop. Attach with a glue gun.
  3. Cut out another circle from cardboard that matches the diameter of the mirror. Stick it on the front side of the first part. Using glue, attach a mirror to a small circle, place a load on top, set aside for a while.
  4. At this time, cut off the sticks from the spoons, you will not need them.
  5. Remove the weight, and glue the spoons without legs in a checkerboard pattern with hot glue. The more symmetrical the elements are, the more beautiful the object will look.
  6. Cover the reflective area with damp newspaper, paint the spoons with spray paint, let dry and paint the other side.
  7. You can also paint some spoons with acrylic paints, in the middle, where there are edges of the spoons, glue a decorative braid.

We offer you to look at the video of the process of decorating a frame for a mirror with simple plastic spoons:

Rope

A rope or strong thick rope will be a good addition to an oval or round mirror. For work, in addition to the rope, you will need:

  • thin twine or twine;
  • hot glue gun;
  • silicone glue (liquid nails);
  • electrical tape and a sharp clerical knife.

The process looks like this:

  1. The end of the rope is wrapped tightly with electrical tape, the excess part is cut off with a clerical knife so that part of the electrical tape remains. The cut is sealed with hot glue. Repeat the procedure with all pieces of rope on both sides.
  2. Place the mirror face down on your work surface.
  3. Wrap the rope so that the ends are connected. Cut off the excess, process the second cut and connect the ends with electrical tape.
  4. Make a second oval or circle inside this one. Also tape the ends together. Install in such a way that the junctions of the ropes are on opposite sides each time. Glue the rope pieces to each other. But not to the mirror, the frame will be attached from the front.
  5. Make a frame with four to five layers of rope. Places where tape is visible should be wrapped with twine or twine. Glue on inconspicuous areas.
  6. When the frame is dry, turn the mirror over and attach it to the surface with liquid nails.

wood frame

It is also popular to use wood as a material for creating original decor for mirrors. You can make a frame for a mirror of any shape. The essence of the work is as follows.:

  1. Look for branches, knots, or any wooden elements, such as circles. Think about how they will be located.
  2. You will need a base to glue on the back of the mirror. It can be made from corrugated cardboard.
  3. Glue all the elements with a gun.
  4. If the tree has not been processed before, you can cover it with stain. This will create a natural effect.

shells

To create a masterpiece in a marine style, you will need a variety of shells. If you collect them at sea on your own, be sure to rinse and boil, then use tweezers to remove the internal contents, rinse and dry again.

  1. For decorating with shells, a mirror in a plastic frame is best suited. But you can make this kind of decor on a cardboard basis.
  2. The surface that does not need to be glued is covered with a cloth or paper.
  3. First glue the smallest seafood along the inner edge of the frame with a gun.
  4. Then alternate with large shells. Apply glue to the elements themselves, and not to the frame.
  5. If there are empty areas left, you can glue light beads or sand.
  6. Leave the mirror to dry, after a day cover with a transparent varnish.

Mosaic, broken dishes

Decorate things with mosaics - a fashion trend. Suitable for objects of any shape. A mirror with this decor can be hung in the bathroom. In some cases, the item is glued directly to the wall, and the mosaic is laid out around. In other cases, they act according to the following principle.

  1. If the mirror is in a frame, the surface is degreased and the drawing is laid out, preliminarily outlining. Specially purchased mosaics or shards of dishes are first cleaned so that they are not too sharp at the edges.
  2. For work, you can use a glue gun, liquid nails or special glue for glass and ceramics.
  3. Leave for a day, the places between the details of the mosaic can be rubbed later with plaster or a special mixture for joints. By the way, it comes in different colors, which will create an interesting effect.

If the mirror does not have a frame, you can cut out the base yourself, which is larger in diameter. And you can also lay out a mosaic on the most reflective side of the object.

gold leaf

If the mirror is unframed and you want to give it a luxurious look, decorate with gold leaf. Work will require patience. But the result cannot but please. You will need:

  • a drawn or simply printed template;
  • double-sided adhesive tape, different in width;
  • as well as the gold leaf itself;
  • brush with soft bristles;
  • stationery knife and ruler.

The process looks like this:

  1. We degrease the mirror. We attach the template and check how it looks. At this stage, you can still change something.
  2. We cut out the details from the adhesive tape according to the template, use the ruler.
  3. Glue the tape to the mirror.
  4. We cut the gold into strips that fit in size with cut out sections of adhesive tape.
  5. We work by gradually peeling off the top layer from the tape and transferring the gold with a soft brush, smooth the strip and move on. Brush off any excess with a brush.

There are plenty of mirror design ideas, and the most beautiful thing about decor is that you end up with a unique piece of furniture that others will not have.

Almost any old thing can be given a new life. Do not rush to throw away even your grandmother's favorite mirror, the frame of which fell apart, and it itself is damaged around the edges. Even a product in this state can be easily turned into something original, making it a unique designer item. DIY mirror decor is an opportunity not only to decorate the interior with an unusual product, but also to give it a second life.

There are two main ways to change the appearance of any mirror - to decorate the glass sheet itself or to create an unusual and original frame for it. Most often, of course, craftsmen and needlewomen choose the second option - it is much easier to think of a new frame format and insert a mirror into it, or glue a new frame directly onto the canvas.

On a note! In the case of creating a frame, the decor can be located both outside the mirror and directly on it.

However, do not be afraid to make decor on the mirror canvas itself. Now there are a lot of various materials and tools that will allow you to make unique applications and even matte the mirror in the right places.

On a note! Matting a mirror and creating all kinds of patterns on it has been very popular lately. It turns out that you can do this yourself, without resorting to the services of masters.

What materials are useful

What can be used to turn an ordinary boring mirror into a real miracle? Here we can only say that everything can be applied - you need to give free rein to your imagination. Children's toys, bottle caps, paper, fabric, all kinds of natural materials, from pebbles to cones - absolutely everything will fit. The main thing is to choose the option that can be done depending on the person’s creative skills, as well as one that will simply fit harmoniously into the interior.

Most often, wood is used to create original frames., as it is easy to process and fits almost every interior style. The material is time-tested, durable and environmentally friendly. Yes, and it looks very nice.

For the design of mirrors of square, rectangular and similar shapes, it is easiest to use ordinary wooden borders, blocks, plinths. Round and oval canvases are ideal for experiments. Here you can use wooden spatulas, and natural driftwood, twigs and much more.

On a note! Round mirrors with the help of wood are often turned into original suns or original nests.

Some craftswomen who love to work with paper also use it to decorate mirrors. Often, egg cartons are used, which easily turn into flowers. Special stickers or can be used. Do not think that paper is a completely useless material. With the right technique of work, it will not quickly lose its appearance. But the mirror will turn out to be very unusual.

On a note! Sometimes quite unusual objects are used - metal rulers, children's toys. In the first case, the rulers can be placed around the mirror like the rays of the sun, in the second, toys are glued along the perimeter of the mirror according to a certain pattern. This is a great option for a child's room.

As for natural materials, stones, cones, shells can be used. The latter will look great in the bathroom. Moreover, the products can be glued both symmetrically and in different places, depending on the desire.

In any case, decorating a mirror with improvised materials is a truly creative process. You just need to weigh all your wishes, strengths, opportunities and think about which option to choose in this or that case.

decor rules

Decorating a mirror is simple, but you must follow a number of rules so as not to spoil the mirror base - then you will definitely have to throw it away. But following the rules is not difficult if you know them.

  1. If products that have volume are used to decorate the mirror, then it is important to ensure that there are not very many of them, otherwise the finished design will look bulky.
  2. When decorating a bathroom mirror, it is better to use moisture-resistant materials.
  3. Any decor must be in harmony with the interior style.
  4. You need to stick any objects on the mirror using transparent silicone or a glue gun.

Attention! Silicone can be acidic or neutral. The first until the moment of drying has an unpleasant acetic smell, you need to work with it only in a well-ventilated room. Also, acid silicone is able to corrode the paint, which could previously be coated with the product.

  1. Irregularly shaped mirrors are not recommended to be placed in a frame. Best of all in a frame smooth round or square mirrors look.
  2. If a composition of several mirrors will be formed on the wall, then it is better to choose the same style for their design.

Master classes on creating beautiful mirrors

There are a lot of techniques and options for designing mirror surfaces. For readers, here are the most interesting options.

Floral stencil on the mirror

To create a mirror with beautiful bright colors around the edges, a lot of effort and time will not be required. For work, brushes, acrylic paints, a pencil, a regular sponge, a selected stencil pattern, masking tape and nail polish remover, which can be replaced with acetone, will be used.

Attention! It is better not to use ordinary tape for working with a mirror. The sticky residue that remains after removal is very difficult to wash off.

Step 1. Everything that is needed for such a design of the mirror is being prepared. At the same time, it is desirable to get everything at once, so that later you will not be distracted from work in search of something missing.

Step 2 Decor stencils are used ready-made, purchased in a store, or made independently from thick cardboard. They can be printed on a printer or translated using tracing paper. Any drawing can be used for decoration.

On a note! Acetone will be used if the pattern is damaged during application and needs to be removed.

Step 4 The stencil is attached with adhesive tape directly to the mirror in the selected location. If it involves the use of several colors, then part of the pattern is also sealed with adhesive tape so as not to apply paint in the wrong place. Only sections of the stencil that will be painted in one color are left open. The locations of the stencils are planned in advance.

Step 5 The pattern is painted over with a brush or sponge. When places of the same color are painted over, you can move on to other areas, gradually removing the adhesive tape. The contours of the pattern in some cases can be additionally drawn with a thin brush after removing the stencil.

Step 6 In this case, the mirror is additionally decorated with pink dots, which are applied with a brush around the perimeter. Decoration completed. Such a mirror can be hung in the bathroom, as acrylic paints will not be afraid of water. If desired, the pattern can be changed by simply erasing the old one with acetone.

Sometimes stained glass paints are used to decorate the mirror. It is better to buy those that do not require baking. They are sold in an art store.

Decorating with pipes

Probably, few people would have guessed to use polypropylene plumbing pipes for decorating a mirror! It turns out that with their help you can decorate any mirror in a very original way, the main thing is that this option is combined with the interior style. To work, you will need trimming pipes of the same or different diameters, a sawing or cutting tool for cutting them, sandpaper and a glue gun.

Step 1. Neat, even, one-width rings are cut from polypropylene pipes. The easiest way to do this is with a fine-toothed miter saw.

Step 2 The sections of the rings after cutting are polished with sandpaper to be neat and smooth.

Step 3 All rings according to the chosen scheme are glued together with a glue gun. The final shape of a kind of frame can be either round or square - the main thing is that it should be in the shape of a mirror.

Step 4 The mirror itself is glued to the rings in the selected place with a glue gun. You need to hang the finished product only by the mirror itself.

We matte the mirror with our own hands

A mirror with a matte pattern looks very original. To work, you will need a pattern created on a stenciled adhesive film, a piece of mounting film the size of a mirror, a special matting paste, and a sponge.

Step 1. To get a stencil for a mirror, the details of this pattern are removed from the adhesive film where the pattern is applied. In this case, these are leaves, grapes and other elements. In order for the drawing to be already cut, it is better to order and print such a stencil in a specialized company. You can cut the pattern yourself, but this will require the use of a clerical knife. In this case, it is important to work very carefully. What is highlighted in white in the image is the finished matte pattern on the surface of the mirror.

Step 2 A mounting film is applied to the film with the pattern. The lower protective layer is removed from it and the film is gradually glued to the surface of the pattern and rolled with a roller. Mounting film is needed to easily transfer the pattern to the mirror.

Step 3 Now the lowest protective layer is gradually separated from all this film cake. The film is glued to the mirror, the protective layer is separated in stages. The film rolls well with a roller.

Step 4 The mounting film is removed from the surface of the pattern. It is important to ensure that the drawing does not reach for it.

Step 6 When the required time has passed, the paste is removed with a plastic scraper. It is reusable, you can simply scrape it off and put it in a jar.

Step 7 The mirror itself is washed with water.

Step 8 The film with the pattern is removed from the surface of the mirror.

Making a beautiful frame

A very beautiful frame for a mirror can be made from ceiling baguettes. This will require thick cardboard or plywood, ceiling baguettes (a couple of pieces), a square mirror, acrylic putty, foam glue, acrylic paints (black and silver), a decorative silver cord, hard and soft brushes, a palette knife or a kitchen knife, as well as office knife. To avoid getting your hands dirty, you can wear gloves.

Step 1. Focusing on the size of the mirror, cut off 4 parts of the same size - parts of the frame. The corners for joining are cut along the square with a clerical knife.

Step 2 The parts are glued together with glue to make a blank for the frame.

Step 3 After the glue dries, the frame is turned over and the joints between its individual parts are puttied from the inside. Due to this, the frame will be stronger.

Step 4 Outside, the frame is also puttied, but not completely, but at the joints of the baguettes and along the inner edge.

Step 5 When the putty dries, the frame is painted black. The inner border is also well stained.

Step 6 When the black paint dries, you will need to apply silver paint to the raised parts of the frame. It is applied with a sponge so that the frame remains black in the recesses of the pattern.

Step 7 After all layers of paint have dried, the frame is covered with acrylic varnish. It is white, but after drying it will become transparent.

Step 8 In a piece of cardboard or plywood, cut in the shape of a mirror, but with allowances for the frame, a hole is made for hanging the mirror.

Step 9 The mirror itself is glued to the center of the base.

Step 10 So that there is no void between the frame and the mirror, a decorative cord is glued to the inner border.

Step 11 The frame is glued to the base, on which there is already a glued mirror.

Step 12 After the whole structure is dry, a layer of putty, black paint and silver is applied to the side of the frame. All layers are applied in stages, after the preliminary drying of each of them.

And at the end - silver
