When choosing furniture in dark shades, you should take into account the size of the room and the degree of its illumination. Dark wood will decorate only large spaces filled with sunlight. Otherwise, the room will seem even smaller and darker, and the atmosphere will crush and cause dislike. An alternative to dark wood furniture can be dark flooring. The most practical and economical option is to lay a walnut or wenge laminate.

Bright hues

For small rooms with small window openings, designers strongly advise choosing furniture made of wood or chipboard in light colors. So the room will appear visually larger and brighter.

In the catalogs of furniture companies you can find such light colors of furniture:

In addition to the above options, there may be other light furniture facades: pear, apple, acacia, etc. Whitewashed oak or any other white furniture color is perfect for a rustic Provence style or modern minimalism. White color creates an atmosphere of purity and spaciousness. The white color of the furniture with the names is shown in the photo.

Intermediate tones

Neutral shades of furniture can be a great addition to the interior and a backdrop for brighter accents. In the catalogs of furniture companies such neutral tones are presented:

Furniture in neutral colors does not attract attention, but looks aristocratic.

The purchase of wooden furniture is an eco-friendly and modern option for home improvement. But if products made from expensive solid wood are not affordable, then they can be replaced with furniture made from chipboard. The main thing is that the shade of the laminate for furniture is identical to the natural colors of the wood. Natural wood furniture looks very cozy. Texture and primary colors

The chipboard color palette, which is provided for the manufacture of furniture facades, is more than 250 shades and colors. They are classified as follows:

  1. Wood texture.

Natural shades with the most reliable imitation of wood texture belong to this type.

In turn, they are also divided into:

Bright hues. These include:

  • Karelian birch is a golden yellow tone, which depicts small rings of cut knots;
  • pine, which has a yellow color, with the image of medium-sized knots;
  • light ash has a milky-cream shade with a soft composition;

The design of the room is made in bright colors.

Dark-colored furniture fits perfectly into spacious, wide halls and lighted rooms. Such furniture brings nobility and representativeness to the room.

  1. Imitation of other materials

These include the texture of such materials: tiles, fabric, various patterns, stone and fantasy. The use of such textures in the interior is limited only by the design taste and preferences of the client.

An example of applying a texture with imitation of other materials

Chipboard manufacturers often have an online catalog on their websites where you can view examples of decors. Please note that the monitor may distort the shades and colors shown, in reality the color you like may look different.

A texture pattern that is located on the facade of the furniture and plays the role of a good visual effect, with which you can change the actual idea of \u200b\u200bthe size of the room.

If you need to expand the room, then furniture with a horizontal structure should be preferred. This option is ideal for rooms with high ceilings and narrow, elongated parameters. If the room has a square size with a low ceiling, then furniture with a vertical structure on the facade will work well.

Basic rules for combining colors and shades in the interior

The chipboard color palette has many shades. For a competent selection of the shade of furniture to the general color of the room, it is necessary to use the designer's range of colors.

When choosing shades, it is imperative to have a designer's color wheel in order to correctly combine different colors.

  • With the help of warm shades, such as yellow or orange, you can saturate the space around you with a cheerful mood.
  • Woody natural textures create a pleasant coziness in the room and are combined with almost all styles.
  • If you want to add red shades, then it will look best in dots. Otherwise, it causes fatigue.
  • The use of cool shades of green and blue contributes to the calm mood of the room. Great for the workplace.
  • Neutral colors gray and white are perfect for any interior. Other colors on their background looks advantageous.

When I communicate with a customer, I often hear the question - "what are the most popular colors of laminated chipboard now"?

I had to show about 8 colors of chipboard from Egger and say - "recently they order from such decors."

As a rule, if there is no furniture in the room yet, the client begins to look closely at the samples I have indicated and stops at one of them.

Recently, I even began to feel guilty that I was imposing my subjective vision, because I personally like several colors and I begin to assert that sliding wardrobes are ordered much more often from them, but this is not entirely true. Of these colors, furniture was indeed ordered more than once, but most likely the reason for this is my opinion.

Yes, I have to prompt the customer and sincerely want to please him, but, given our modest volume of orders, we do not have objective data - which are the most fashionable.

I decided to turn to the Austrian manufacturer of chipboard "Egger". I wrote a detailed letter with a request to send a rating of the most popular decors that they produce.

But I received the following answer - "Thank you for your message, unfortunately, we cannot provide and publish statistics on the most popular decors, as this is our internal information and is not subject to distribution."

What a pity... If the Egger company provided me with such information, we would have an objective picture of today throughout Russia. But, alas...

And why actually "Egger"? - a question may arise.

"Egger" is the quality standard of laminated chipboard in our country at an affordable cost. Yes, this is again my personal opinion, but many more manufacturers in Russia think so.

Well, Egger refused, but there are their dealers. Then I turned to two large chipboard sellers in Moscow and the Moscow region, they provided me with a rating of popular decors for the period from July 1 to December 31, 2015. for which I am very grateful to them. Their sales volumes are large enough to consider the rating objective.

And so, what is now in demand on the market in Moscow and the Moscow region? What decor by Egger is the most beautiful, the most desirable, the most fashionable today?

1. On the first place chipboard "Oak Cremona Champagne ST3".

It's hard to argue with that. Indeed, I also advertised this color to our clients. Perhaps because it was chosen by previous customers.

Very often I hear - "We are tired of dark furniture, we want something light, but not easily soiled, something woody, but without a pronounced wood structure, so as not to catch the eye."

So "Oak Cremona Champagne" is the most popular chipboard color in Moscow and the region. This color is number one in 2015 and I think in the next six months in 2016. they will remain.

2. In second place is a laminated chipboard called "White ST2".

At first, to be honest, I was surprised and thought - why white, because we rarely make wardrobes from white plates? But then I remembered about the kitchens, where the frames are mainly made of white chipboard.

There is one more nuance, this is Egger's cheapest chipboard.

3. In third place in popularity is Woodline Cream ST22.

Not surprising, because it is an interesting decor and very pleasant to the touch. Unlike many, "Woodline Cream" seems to have a velvety surface, fingers feel its slight roughness and warmth. A very good laminate, it is pleasant to work with it and looks great in the finished product - the wardrobe looks very elegant and pompous. A thin beige streak dilutes the white color and gives it "interestingness".

The only drawback that needs to be mentioned is the soiledness. After completing the installation of furniture, you have to spend a lot of time to clean the laminate.

4. In fourth place is Vanilla ST2.

To be honest, we didn’t make furniture from this color very often, but vanilla is in the top five, you can’t add anything here. Apparently demanded decor, many people like it.

5. In fifth place is Lakeland Acacia Light ST3.

This board is very similar to Champagne Cremona Oak - a calm woody structure without greasy woody veins. I can't say anything good or bad about this color.

The pattern of this material resembles real wood, there are pronounced knots. The color is predominantly beige with gray streaks.

If you like knots in furniture, then order without hesitation, it looks interesting and at the same time unobtrusive.

7. The dark decor "Ferrara Oak Black-Brown ST" takes the seventh place.

"Oak Ferrara" has a woody pattern in black and brown tones, I would add an almost black color. We don’t like it very much, because the color is rather troublesome in production. The coating is unstable to scratches, you need to treat it very carefully during assembly and during operation. I would not recommend carrying any items on the countertop.

If you order furniture from this material in a dark room, in my opinion, it will be very gloomy. If the walls are light, there is enough light in the room, such a dark structure, on the contrary, will look solid.

8. Eighth place was taken by "French Walnut ST3".

This is my favorite color among red decors. If you're looking for a warm, light brown tone, look no further than French Walnut. It looks expensive, unlike the annoying Cherry.

9. In ninth place is Bardolino natural ST10.

To date, this is one of my favorite decors, because it has an interesting drawing of the structure - transverse short stripes are applied along the wood pattern, which resemble sawn boards. I haven't seen anything like this in the Egger palette yet.

The material is very unpretentious and structural to the touch.

We got acquainted with this stove at the end of 2014, I don’t know how *long ago the manufacturer began to produce it.

*By the way, in a letter to the Egger factory, I asked to put the start date for the release of each decor, but you know the answer.

10. Tenth place is occupied by "Chocolate Toronto Oak ST3".

The brown decor "Toronto Oak" closes the top ten most popular colors of laminated chipboard.

The color is interesting, but rather troublesome, unstable to scratches, you need to handle it carefully.

11. The eleventh place is occupied by the one-colour decor "Beige sand ST2".

If there is a choice in front of a monochromatic wardrobe frame, then "Beige Sand" is often chosen as an alternative to the darker "Cappuccino" and light "Creamy". In general, it turns out well if this plate fits the interior of the room.

12. Twelfth place is taken by "Chateau Oak Gray Pearl ST9".

This is an unusual color, the woody structure of which really gives off mother-of-pearl, there is something noble in it.

13. As if it coincided on purpose, but in thirteenth place is the most unfortunate color of laminated chipboard from Egger Beech Tyrol Chocolate ST3.

Of course, it turns out that I am imposing my opinion on you, but believe me, many consider the Beech Tyrol Chocolate stove to be the most troublesome to manufacture and operate.

It is better not to put the keys to the apartment on the surface of this laminate, otherwise you will quickly scratch it.

Why scratches are so noticeable on it - I can’t explain, apparently because a light base immediately goes under the top layer.

Very often we receive already scratched laminated chipboard from the seller's warehouse.

If the client has a new apartment and still does not have any furniture of a similar color, we simply refuse to manufacture a wardrobe from this material.

If laminated chipboard initially comes scratched from the warehouse, then how can new furniture be made without scratches? You have to buy extra sheets, choose the best pieces, and sometimes just cover up thin scratches with special markers.

But people like this decor, after all, the thirteenth place out of the 103 colors of "Egger"! Nothing can be done about this fact...

14. Fourteenth place went to "Light Gray ST2".

I can’t add much about him, except that cabinets from him were ordered very rarely. It is only suitable if the client wants to make an inconspicuous frame that blends into the walls.

15. Fifteenth place is occupied by "Nut Aida Tobacco ST3".

An unpretentious color similar to "French Walnut" and "Dijon Walnut". Looks noble in a suitable interior.

Chipboard (chipboard) is widely used in construction, furniture industry. A variety of decor allows you to use this material in any interior, home or business. In order to correctly choose the color of chipboard for furniture, it is advisable to study the proposed collections of samples, not forgetting the purpose and size of the room.

Chipboard is produced by pressing sawdust and shavings using synthetic binders. In some of its properties, it is superior to natural wood. Chipboard does not have knots, it is less deformed from moisture, it has low flammability. Its main positive qualities:

  • strength;
  • rigidity;
  • ease of processing;
  • low price.

The disadvantages of chipboard include the content of formaldehyde resins, the dangerous fumes of which are harmful to human health. But the developments of recent years practically negate this shortcoming. Formaldehyde emissions are also minimized by laminating or painting the boards.

Laminated chipboard is mainly used for interior design, furniture manufacturing. A huge variety of textures and shades of the coating gives scope for the work of repairmen, designers and end users. The ability to embody any artistic idea allowed this material to win the recognition of professional craftsmen and lovers of handicrafts.

Chipboard provides good heat and sound insulation, resistant to mechanical damage. It is produced in various forms in accordance with its intended use:

  • ultralight;
  • waterproof;
  • refractory.

Due to the variety of choices and ease of processing, laminated chipboard belongs to the most popular materials for the manufacture of economy class furniture.

During lamination, a layer of decorative paper is applied to the chipboard, which is coated with melamine resin. Many are interested in whether and how to paint such a surface. To repaint furniture in a different color, you must first carefully clean and prime it, and only then apply a suitable paint.

The color scheme of furniture chipboard

Manufacturers offer a wide range of colors that mimic natural materials or represent abstract images. Given the widespread use of laminated chipboard, it is produced in different tones: warm and cold, from light to dark.

Light colors create a feeling of spaciousness, airiness, bring a positive mood:

  • calm shades are used for doors and partitions of office premises;
  • Provence style furniture that is now fashionable is painted white or pastel colors;
  • light scale is used in laconic interiors of minimalism style.

From woody decors bleached oak, milk ash looks modern. The classic options for light wood are maple, birch, acacia.

Dark colors are appropriate when decorating rooms in the Art Nouveau, Classic, Empire styles;

  • furniture made of wenge, ebony against the background of light walls looks good in the design of office rooms;
  • warmer shades of Milanese or Spanish walnut give the interior depth and richness;
  • exotic tree species are represented by Macassar and Malibu decors.

It is important that the choice is thoughtful and final. It will be difficult to paint chipboard furniture in a different color on your own, not every paint fits well on a laminated surface.

From the photo on the monitor screen it is difficult to determine how a particular shade will look in reality. It is more practical to make a choice according to samples in a regular store, and then order chipboard. In this case, you need to navigate by name and article number.

Imitation of various materials

The surface of the laminated building material can imitate both different types of wood and stone, matting, metal. Chipboard recreates the texture of natural wood with such accuracy that it is almost indistinguishable from the array. This makes it possible to manufacture solid respectable furniture from an affordable material.

The paint is applied to the plane evenly or repeats the play of shades of real fabric, ceramic tiles. Depending on the desired effect, the chipboard surface can be:

  • embossed;
  • matte;
  • glossy.

The most versatile are plain surfaces painted white. Cool gray shades imitate metals such as titanium or steel. They can be found in high-tech kitchen designs.

Catalogs of textures and colors of chipboard offer options for every taste. The scope and method of their application are limited only by the imagination of the designer. If necessary, the furniture or its individual parts are repainted in a different color to create an artistic effect or simply renew the surface.

Rules for combining colors in the interior

A rich palette of colors of laminated chipboard allows you to create unique compositions. The main thing is not to get lost in this variety and choose colors so that the pieces of furniture are combined not only with each other, but also with walls, floors, accessories:

  • warm shades add positive to the room: beige, yellow, orange;
  • cold tones make the style of the rooms more strict, restrained;
  • blue, green are well suited for the design of the workplace;
  • imitation of wood or fabric creates a cozy homely atmosphere in the room.

Bright colors are good as accents, refreshing the interior. For example, they are appropriate in rooms with dark furniture. But in large quantities, red excites aggression, while blue and purple, on the contrary, suppress. Contrasting combinations can be invigorating, but they should not be too much.

Neutral shades of white and gray can be considered a universal option. Against their background, any colors look advantageous. On the other hand, one should not get carried away with similar decors so that a boring monotonous interior does not turn out. It is recommended to use one main color with two complementary ones, plus a contrasting tone that will emphasize the nuances.

Choice of furniture color

In rooms furnished with furniture, people spend most of their time. The environment affects your well-being and mood. The main tone of the whole house is set by the colors of large planes: floors, walls. A well-chosen furniture palette completes the color scheme of the space and creates a feeling of comfort.

Light and mirror planes visually expand the room. It is filled with light, gives a feeling of freedom. Dark colors add solidity and solidity. This is a suitable option for large, well-lit rooms and hallways. The texture of furniture chipboard also affects how a room or office looks. Horizontally placed decor will visually expand a narrow room. The vertical pattern on the facades will slightly increase the height of the ceiling.

If a mistake was made when choosing the color of chipboard or the surface was damaged, the furniture can be repainted in the desired color. Before painting a cabinet or chest of drawers, it must be disassembled into separate parts. Given the low price of chipboard, it is sometimes easier to buy new furniture or order new doors for an old cabinet. This will help to make the interior cozy and harmonious again.
