The Orthodox monastery was not a hindrance to the Crimean khans who professed Islam. They showed religious tolerance and mosques were located in the neighborhood of the monastery. But in the last century, this monastery was blown up and back in the early 90s, only caves with frescoes in the rock remained from the temple, and in the gorge itself there were buildings of a mental hospital, whose patients sometimes took walks along hiking trails.

In this article, I will try to briefly describe the TOP 15 sights of the Crimean peninsula that are worth visiting. I want to make a reservation right away that when compiling this TOP, I had to cross out many other beautiful places from it and leave in the list only the most beautiful and noteworthy sights of Crimea.

1) Mount Ai-Petri.

I consider Ai-Petri the most beautiful mountain of the peninsula. Its height is 1234 meters above sea level. Unforgettable views, majestic pine trees, dizzying cliffs, caves, waterfalls... Ai-Petri has everything you can imagine.

From the top of Ai-Petri, the Black Sea, in clear weather, can be seen in the distance for 150 km, and this, after all, is half the distance to Turkey!

You can climb Ai-Petri in various ways: by cable car, minibus or taxi, and on foot. You can learn more about these methods. But I advise you to make a hike along the picturesque hiking trails. Only in this case it can be argued that you have conquered Ai-Petri!

You can make a route in such a way that in one daylight hours you can see the highest waterfall of Crimea - climb up and look at Yalta through the Taraktash windows, walk along the Ai-Petri plateau and enjoy the aromas of mountain herbs, climb the famous Ai-Petrinsky prongs and then go down by or on the cable car. And all this in one day!

We organize hiking one-day trips and we will be glad to see you among the participants! More about hiking and. 🙂

More information about Ai-Petri and its attractions can be found in

2) Cape Fiolent.

Cape Fiolent is an insanely beautiful place. Be sure to visit this cape, it will impress you, I assure you. Fiolent is also known for its jasper beach, the length of which is about a kilometer. And the water in the sea is considered the cleanest in the vicinity of Sevastopol.

So take a tube with a mask, a camera and go ahead for impressions!

3) Balaklava - Crimean Venice.

Balaklava Bay is a unique place that attracts the attention of tourists from all over the world. The bay is protected on all sides from wind and waves, and is considered the best place for yachting enthusiasts.

At the height of the season, Balaklava Bay resembles a busy road, small boats and majestic yachts scurry back and forth, delivering tourists to the most beautiful beaches, of which there are many in Balaklava. These are Vasili, and the beaches of Golden and Silver. Also from Balaklava you can get to , and to Cape Aya. The choice of beaches is really impressive.

In Balaklava itself, there is also something to see. You can visit a secret submarine repair factory, or you can explore the Chembalo fortress, or take a hike through picturesque places to one of the beaches.

4) Golitsyn trail.

A picturesque trail originating in the New World. The route of the trail is absolutely not difficult and does not require any special skills or good physical fitness.

The entrance to the trail is paid - 100 rubles.

The trail owes its name to Prince Golitsyn, who ordered a passage to the grotto to be cut through the rocks and a wine cellar to be built in it. The grotto itself has excellent acoustics and coolness that saves from the heat.

The trail passes through all the bays of Novosvetovskie (green, blue and blue, which have such names because of the color of the sea in them), in close proximity to the sea and leads to Cape Kapchik.

From the cape, you can return through the juniper grove to the New World, or you can continue your journey and go down to the Royal Beach or go to conquer Mount Cosmos Peak, from which beautiful views of all the bays open.

You can read photos of our trips here...

5) Yalta is the pearl of Crimea.

Yalta! How great it is to walk along the Yalta embankment, listening to the surf and enjoy the beauty of the kilometer-long mountains surrounding Yalta from all sides. Yalta is wonderful. Chekhov himself said that Yalta is in no way inferior to Nice, and in many ways even better.

Therefore, if you are thinking of going to Yalta or choosing some other city, then I can give you advice - of course, go. Beautiful nature, clear sea, mountains, palm trees - it's all about Yalta!

6) Chatyr-Dag caves.

Not far from Alushta there is a mountain - Chatyr-Dag, with the highest peak - Eklizi-Burun (1527 meters above sea level - the 4th peak of Crimea). Chatyr-Dag itself is also very interesting and you can conquer its peaks on your own,

But we are talking about caves. Several dozen caves are known on Chatyr-Dag, but only two are specially equipped for tourists - these are the Marble and Mammoth caves (Emine-Bair-Khosar). You can visit these caves on your own, or you can go on a guided tour.

We also visited both of these caves, but Marble didn’t impress us at all, but I can’t say the same about Mamontova. There is something to see. And it is named so in honor of the mammoth, whose remains lie in the cave.

In any case, the caves of Chatyr-Dag are worthy of your attention, and I recommend that you visit them.

All of you, most likely, have seen films or heard about the Grand Canyon in the USA - the deepest canyon in the world. But imagine that in the Crimea there is also such a canyon, of course, not as huge as the American one, but this does not make it any worse.

The Grand Canyon of Crimea is located 5 km from the village of Sokolinoe - this is an amazing and beautiful place. The depth of the canyon is over 320 meters, the length is 3.5 km, and the width of the canyon in some places does not exceed 3 meters.

A mountain river flows along the bottom of the canyon and forms small waterfalls 3-4 meters high. Waterfalls, in turn, wash out erosional pits, which are called youth baths. The water in the river does not exceed 11 degrees even on the hottest days. There is a legend that bathing in the bath of youth rejuvenates your body. But not everyone will be able to overpower themselves to take such a bath. It's very refreshing water.

And now add to all this the perennial Crimean forest and the singing of hundreds of birds. Represented? Not? Then plan your next trip to Crimea so that you are sure to visit the Grand Canyon.

8) Dzhur-Dzhur - the most full-flowing waterfall of the Crimea.

The Dzhur-Dzhur waterfall is located in the protected Khap Khal valley, not far from the village of Generalskoe (from Turkic - wolf's mouth), so at the entrance to the reserve you must pay a tourist fee - 100 rubles.

The Ulu-Uzen River, on its way to the Black Sea, meets a 15-meter cliff and with noise, falling off the cliff, forms a waterfall. Dzhur-Dzhur is the most full-flowing waterfall of the Crimea, and in Turkic it means water-water.

In the spring, this waterfall is truly impressive, it is so powerful that it is impossible to resist its pressure. Every second, 350 liters of water rushes down from the cliff. The falling water makes such a noise that it is impossible to hear each other.

By the end of summer, due to the lack of precipitation, the waterfall noticeably weakens, but, nevertheless, remains quite powerful.

More about our excursion to Dzhur-Dzhur and to the temple-lighthouse of St. Nicholas

9) Cableway to Ai-Petri.

The cable car to Ai-Petri is a marvel of engineering. This road is included in the TOP 10 most impressive cable cars in the world. Also, the Crimean cable car is unique in that the length of the unsupported span is 1670 meters, which is longer only in Germany. And the angle of elevation near the mountains is 46 degrees.

The road is made according to the pendulum principle - the cabins move towards each other. The cabins themselves are quite large and spacious, they can accommodate up to 40 people and you can even climb into them with bicycles and tourist backpacks.

The fare for the cable car is 250 rubles for adults and 100 rubles for children. Children under 6 years free.

10) Memorial complex “35 Coastal Battery” in Sevastopol.

Museum "35 Coastal Battery" is a memorial complex where you can get acquainted with the history of the defense of Sevastopol during the Great Patriotic War, about the feat of our soldiers.

The museum is open to the public:

  • in summer (May-October) - daily from 10:00 to 18:00, except Monday;
  • in winter (November-April) - from 10:00 to 16:00, except Monday and Tuesday.

Entrance to the museum is free.

The heroic defense of Sevastopol lasted 250 days. And the 35th battery played a very important role in this defense. The city was taken only after the death of the battery. I also want to note that over the past 25 days of the storming of Sevastopol, German aircraft dropped as many bombs on the besieged city as the British had dropped on the whole of Germany since the start of World War II. Naturally, Sevastopol was completely destroyed.

I advise everyone to visit this museum!

12) Sudak (Genoese) fortress

From the name of the fortress it becomes clear that in order to see it you need to visit the wonderful city of Sudak. This is a stunning fortress - a legacy of medieval history, which was built by the Genoese.

To be honest, before seeing the fortress with my own eyes, I was afraid that I would see something similar to in Alushta. But what I saw is really amazing.

Every year, in the Sudak fortress, historians - reenactors hold festivals, visiting which you can easily be transported to the Middle Ages.

An attraction worthy of your attention!

13) Livadia Palace

To say that the Livadia Palace made a strong impression on us is to say nothing. Imagine a leisurely walk in the park, and suddenly you come out to the palace.

The palace is simply striking in its whiteness and grandeur. Well-groomed lawns and palm trees against the backdrop of the palace look especially bright, and the blue Black Sea is visible on the horizon. Amazing view!

I would also like to say that it was here that the division of Europe took place following the results of the Second World War. Great personalities such as Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt met here at the Yalta Conference in February 1945. And you can visit the wax exhibition and immerse yourself in that atmosphere.

It originates from the Livadia Palace and you can take a leisurely walk in the shade of the trees and enjoy the views from the trail.

14) Vorontsov Palace in Alupka.

The Vorontsov Palace also deserves your attention. The palace belonged to Count Vorontsov, one of the richest people of that time, and its architecture is made in the English style, but intertwines elements of different historical eras.

Particularly noteworthy are the Southern terraces, with the famous lions, which offer stunning views of Ai-Petri.

The palace park (Alupka) is also beautiful - a masterpiece of park and garden art. Walking through the park, you will be impressed by the scope of thought of its creator - Karl Antovich Kebach.

It’s worth visiting the Vorontsov Palace, only you need to allocate a full day to see it, otherwise you simply won’t be able to see everything.

15) Tauric Chersonese in Sevastopol.

Chersonese Tauride was founded by the Greeks, and is currently included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

To say that I was greatly impressed by Chersonesos, or rather its ruins, I cannot. But everyone should visit it. Quite an interesting place. The remains of the ancient amphitheater and columns are impressive.

What more can be said? It was here that the Baptism of Russia took place, and there was a font in which Russia was baptized by Prince Vladimir. Very beautiful Vladimir Cathedral, which is located almost in the center of the settlement.

They also say that diving into the sea, you can see the remains of ancient ruins underwater. And this spectacle evokes strong emotions. I managed to visit Tauric Chersonesus in December and did not really want to dive with a mask, although I did swim that day. The color of the sea is very beautiful. 🙂

I hope my short list will be useful and interesting for you and you will visit one of these places. Or maybe you know other interesting sights that you think should be included in this list. Share your thoughts in the comments.

Attractions map

We have mentioned only a small part of the attractions of the peninsula. Much more is indicated on the map:

It is impossible to be disappointed in the Crimean sights. They are so different - unique corners of nature, picturesque parks, mountain landscapes, luxurious palaces, historical monuments. You need to see all this with your own eyes and understand why Crimea is attractive for you.

The Crimean peninsula is an ideal place for the most demanding tourist. There is the sea, the sun, the mountains and many amazing and picturesque places. Among them are both man-made sights and beauty created by nature. Today I will tell you about the places that are advised to visit by the locals. There are probably several corners on the list that will open the Black Sea peninsula for you from a new perspective.

Balaklava

The Crimean city of Balaklava was first mentioned by Homer. He calls it a quiet bay, hidden behind rocky mountains, so there are no big waves here. Since even the ancient Greek poet was in this city, when the journey to the Crimea took several years, the inhabitants of the 21st century should definitely visit here.

Among the main attractions of the city is the Cembalo fortress. Its history begins in the 14th century, when colonizers came to Crimea. The view that opens near the main tower explains why the territory of Balaklava has always been a tasty morsel for all conquerors.

Also in Balaklava, you should visit the Naval Museum. A place for it was cut into the rock to repair submarines. For a long time, the object was classified, and the city was not on the map at all. It is believed that the building is impregnable even in the event of a bombardment. But now everyone can visit the city and admire the impregnable fortresses.

Lost World Beach

Near Balaklava there is a picturesque kilometer-long piece of land. On three sides, this part of the Black Sea coast is surrounded by impregnable rocks, and on the fourth side, it is washed by the waves of the Black Sea. Because of this isolation, it is not crowded and quiet here. Once on this beach, everyone can feel like on a desert island and take a break from the bustle of the city.

You can get to the Lost World from Balaklava by boat, boat and even an air mattress. Some get to the beach on their own - for this you need to swim a hundred meters around the ledge of Cape Aya. Rock climbing enthusiasts can visit this place by descending from the rocks. But you should be careful - sharp protrusions cut the ropes.

Waterfall "Dzhur-Dzhur"

The most full-flowing waterfall of Crimea is especially popular with guests of the peninsula. The peculiarity of Dzhur-Dzhur is that, unlike other waterfalls of the Crimea, which are fed by rainwater, it does not dry out even in the driest time. It originates from the Ulu-Uzen River, which falls along the rapids of the Khapkhal Gorge.

You can get to this picturesque place from the village of Generalskoe, which is located near Alushta. If you are not afraid of difficulties and are ready to climb the mountains on your own, then you will have to walk about 12 kilometers one way. If this climb is not for you, contact the locals. They will be happy to take you to the very pit of the waterfall.

Safari park "Taigan"

In the Crimean safari park Taigan you can observe the life of 60 lions, 40 tigers and hundreds of other animals, including giraffes, crocodiles, monkeys, roe deer, camels. Such a live 3D tour will leave an unforgettable experience for you and your children.

Since the territory of the park is quite extensive, more than 30 hectares, there is a hotel complex where you can stay overnight to continue your tour in the morning. After the walk, it is worth refreshing in local cafes. Such a meal surrounded by wild animals will surely be remembered for a long time. Don't forget to take a ride on the Ferris wheel - you can see the entire territory of the park from it and offer a picturesque view of the White Mountain and the local reservoir.

The road to Taigan Park is only 40 km from Simferopol to Belogorsk. You can get there either by your own car or by using the services of local entrepreneurs and tour operators.

Chersonese

The ancient ruins of the ancient city of Khersones are located just 3 kilometers from Sevastopol. The surviving columns will make everyone think about the power of history and those periods when they really built for centuries and worked conscientiously.

Once upon a time, Prince Vladimir of Kyiv was baptized here. Therefore, in addition to the ruins, in Chersonese you can visit the most beautiful Vladimir Cathedral, decorated in the Byzantine style.

Do not forget to throw a stone at the Kherson bell, which is considered a symbol for all Sevastopol sailors. In the old days, its sound served as a signal in bad weather. During the tour, you will definitely be told the romantic story associated with it.

On the territory of Chersonesos there is also a preserved ancient theater. In summer, you can watch interesting open-air performances, performances and festivals.

In addition to historical value, Chersonese is attractive because it offers a picturesque panorama of the city of Sevastopol. Also here you can swim in the sea and feel like a real archaeologist by taking part in the expedition.

Panorama "Defense of Sevastopol"

It is worth coming to Sevastopol not only for the sake of Chersonese. This sea city leaves no one indifferent. After visiting the ships in the Sevastopol Bay, be sure to visit the Panorama. This is the name of the museum dedicated to the defenders of the city from the French and British in the 19th century. This is a huge picture that surrounds you from all sides. Climbing up to the observation deck along the spiral staircase, you can view it in more detail. The subject foreground will create the effect of presence at the battle for Sevastopol.

Interestingly, during the Second World War, the museum was attacked, but the residents of the city managed to save and take out fragments of the exposition. After the end of the war, the Panorama was restored and a new, no less impressive canvas was opened. Any local resident will be happy to tell you how to get to the museum.

Vorontsov Palace

The majestic building for Count Vorontsov was built in the first half of the 19th century according to the drawings of Eduard Blor. This architect also designed Westminster Abbey and part of Buckingham Palace in London. For many years the palace was the family nest of the Vorontsov family. After nationalization by the Bolsheviks, they made a museum of Russian art here, where they brought the most famous paintings, expensive dishes and furniture from all over the union.

Near the palace is another man-made creation, which is called a local landmark - Vorontsov Park. A variety of plants are collected here, from which picturesque flower beds and flower beds are formed. Fountains, grottoes, waterfalls, sunny glades, spread over an area of 40 hectares, will surprise you with their luxury and grandeur.

The Vorontsov Palace and the park of the same name are located in the resort town of Alupka on the southern coast of Crimea.

swallow's Nest

The Swallow's Nest is a castle located on the very edge of the Aurora Rock. In appearance, the building resembles a medieval castle in the Gothic style and it seems as if this most recognizable symbol of the southern coast of Crimea is about to fall into the sea. You shouldn't be afraid! The foundation of the palace is securely reinforced with concrete slabs. However, the feeling of height inside the building does not leave any tourist.

The history of the castle has many exciting stories that the museum guides will tell you with great pleasure. According to one of them, the building was called the "castle of love" and was built for the beloved of a German oil baron. Visit the Swallow's Nest and learn more about this amazing story!

The castle is located 20 kilometers from the city of Yalta. You can get to it both by your own and by public transport.

Travelers are now worried for many reasons: exchange rates are rising, prices are also rising, and flights to many countries are being canceled. What to do? There is a way out - and this is Crimea. Someone who has already been to the Crimea, from year to year returns to their favorite place, but someone is just getting ready to discover all the charm of a holiday on the peninsula that is gaining popularity.

To make it easier for those who go there for the first time, or maybe just decide to update old memories, we have written this article, in which you will find all the useful information about the most popular sights of Crimea. If this is not enough, and everything has already been studied, then in this case we have an article “10 most unusual sights of Crimea”, which we advise you to look into.

The only one of its kind, the Bakhchisarai Palace is a unique example of Crimean Tatar architecture and annually attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world. On the vast territory of the palace there is not only the palace complex itself, but also a mosque, gardens with fountains and museums: an art museum, museums of the history and culture of the Crimean Tatars and, of course, the main exposition of the museum itself, which includes not only the decoration of the palace, but also an impressive exhibition of cold weapons.

The palace is located, as you might guess, in the city of Bakhchisarai, which is about 50 kilometers from Sevastopol and 30 kilometers from Simferopol. You can get to the city by car - from the nearest large cities the road will take about an hour, but, for example, from Yalta or Evpatoria - an hour and a half, from Feodosia - two and a half. Except by car, you can get to Bakhchisarai from Sevastopol and Simferopol by buses departing several times a day from the bus station, and by train. The Bakhchisarai Palace itself is not difficult to find in the city, it is located at the address: River Street, 133.

The opening hours of the palace vary depending on the time of the year: in winter, the ticket office is open from 9 am to 5 pm, in the summer - from 9 am to 6 pm. A visit to the palace is possible only with a guided tour at a fairly affordable price: 275 rubles for adults and about 150 rubles for students.

The swallow's nest is one of the symbols of the Crimean peninsula. This small, but so strongly reminiscent of a knight's castle, architectural monument is located right on top of the sheer cliff of Ai-Todor. Initially, the Swallow's Nest was wooden and only very remotely resembled a modern building. But periodic restorations and reconstructions after earthquakes and wars have done their job, and now you can’t take your eyes off the Swallow’s Nest.

There is a restaurant and an observation deck inside, there are no museums or exhibitions in the Swallow's Nest. The "castle" is located in the south of the peninsula, about 15 kilometers from the city of Yalta. You can get there by car or by buses No. 32 and No. 102. In addition, local travel agencies offer to get to the sights by water - by boat or by boat.

Ai-Petri is the highest mountain in the array of mountains located in the south of the peninsula, not far from the city of Yalta. Its height is 1231 meters. Actually, this figure speaks for itself - it is definitely worth climbing to the top - for the sake of air, for the view of the mountains on one side and the sea on the other, for the sake of beautiful nature. You can climb on foot, by car or by cable car, which originates in the village of Miskhor on the south coast.

In winter, in addition to walking and climbing the mountain, you can also go skiing, as many locals do. And in the summer there is the possibility of excursions even on horseback. In addition, there are interesting caves and waterfalls along the way, so in order not to miss anything, it may make sense to take an excursion. On the other hand, the “conquest” of Ai-Petri without an excursion group gives completely different, more intense impressions.

Minibuses run regularly from Yalta to Miskhor. The cost is 25 rubles, the journey takes about an hour.

One of the main attractions of the Crimea and the largest waterfall of the Uchal-Su Peninsula is located 7 kilometers from Yalta, on one of the hiking trails to Mount Ai-Petri, which we wrote about above.

Almost 100 meters, or rather 98 and a half - this is the height of Uchal-Su. Powerful streams of water, tending to break on the rocks at the foot of the waterfall, do not leave anyone indifferent. With one exception. During the most popular tourist season in Crimea, that is, in summer, the waterfall dries up, and it is likely that during the hot months you will not see the power that delights tourists and locals. The best time to visit Uchal-Su is the rainy autumn and spring months or winter, when you can even catch a frozen waterfall, which, although it happens, is quite rare.

The closest tourist trail to Uchal-Su is the Taraktash trail, which is also the most picturesque of all. You can also get to the waterfall by transport: by taxi No. 30 from the bus station of the city of Yalta and by car along the M18 highway.

The surroundings of Mount Ai-Petri are rich not only in natural attractions and beaches, but there are also several interesting architectural structures and museums. One of such sights of Crimea is the Vorontsov Palace, which is essentially a whole palace complex, consisting of several buildings and a beautiful well-groomed park. It was created at the beginning of the 19th century, and in 1990 it was given the status of a museum-reserve.

It can take a lot of time to visit the Borontsov Palace. If you want to walk around the territory and look at the palace from the outside - plan that it will take from a few hours to half a day. Well, if the visit plan also includes an inspection of the palace from the inside, then it’s better not to plan anything else on the same day, the museum-reserve is so rich in various “interesting things”. In addition, there is a beach in the park at the palace, which will allow you to combine the cultural program with holidays at sea.

The Vorontsov Palace is located in the city of Alupka, not far from Yalta, on the southern coast of Crimea. You can get from Yalta by taxi No. 32, which stops in the city center, or No. 102, which departs from the bus station. Minibuses No. 107 and No. 115 are also suitable, they just stop a little further - about 15 minutes walk to the palace.

The Palace Museum is open every day from 9 am to 5:30 pm. Ticket offices close at 16.15. In addition to the main exposition, there are exhibitions on the territory of the museum that receive visitors every day, except Monday and Wednesday.

Tickets for each exhibition or exposition are sold separately and cost from 50 to 300 rubles for an adult and from 25 to 150 rubles for a child. There is no single ticket.

One of the most prominent artists of Russia has many fans both at home and around the world. The great marine painter became famous during his lifetime, and after his death and to this day, Aivazovsky's fame is only growing.

In Feodosia, where the artist was born, he himself opened an exhibition of paintings in his own house, which now bears the proud name of the Aivazovsky National Art Gallery. It is not surprising that it contains the largest number of Aivazovsky's works, and it is also not surprising that most of them were written in the Crimea.

Moreover, in the museum you can see not only the paintings themselves, but also the personal belongings of the artist. And the gallery guides will be happy to tell you more about the artist's work.

The museum is open all days of the week, except Wednesday, from 10 am to 5 pm. The box office closes at 4pm. Tuesday is a short day, so the gallery is open until 2pm. The ticket price with a guided tour is 250 rubles for adults and 125 for children. The Aivazovsky Museum is located near the railway station of the city of Feodosia, on Galereinaya Street, house 2.

The ancient Genoese fortress Cembalo is located on the Fortress Hill in the city of Balaklava, which, in fact, is only a district of Sevastopol.

The fortress, after its centuries-old history, has not been preserved very well, or rather, even badly. But this does not diminish the interest of travelers who travel from all over Crimea to look at a historical monument of this magnitude.

Today, the Genoese fortress is an open-air attraction, free and not fenced in anything. Now restoration and restoration work is being carried out here, since quite recently the already destroyed fortress suffered from a heavy downpour, which almost brought down the main tower. But from the hill on which Cembalo is located, a beautiful view of the city and Balaklava Bay opens up.

The ascent starts from the Nazukin embankment. It is better to wear comfortable shoes and stock up on food and water. And at the top you can even have a picnic with a view of the sea, if, of course, the weather is favorable.

The westernmost point of the city of Sevastopol bears the name of Cape Khersones, which is definitely worthy of the attention of a tourist. There are many reasons for this: beautiful views of the sea, the lighthouse of the same name, a rocky coast (although there is also a sandy beach), but the main reason is the ruins of an ancient Greek city. Agree, well, where else in Russia can you see the ruins of buildings of this ancient civilization?

Today the cape has the status of a national reserve called Tauric Chersonese. And pleases the variety of leisure activities offered by the administration of the reserve. Be it the guided tours that take place here for free every hour from 9:30 to 15:30. Or be it excavations, in which, by prior arrangement, you can take part. Thematic exhibitions are constantly held here, and lectures are given for children and adults and, in general, they are engaged in scientific and educational work with might and main.

The Tauric Chersonese Reserve is open to visitors daily from 8:30 am to 6 pm. The box office closes at 5 o'clock. You can get from the center of Sevastopol by bus number 22.

A huge mountain range called Ayu-Dag, and popularly simply "Bear Mountain" is located in the south of the Crimean peninsula, separating Greater Yalta and Greater Alushta. The height of the mountain is 577 meters above sea level, and more than two kilometers separate the far edge from the coast, so be sure that Bear Mountain will not go unnoticed by you and all visitors to Yalta.

Today it is a landmark natural monument of the Crimean peninsula, which also boasts the ruins of a medieval settlement. Archeology lovers will be pleased.

The mountain is dotted with hiking trails and paths, which are simply impossible to get around in full in one day. Ayu-Dag has a very diverse flora and fauna, so you are guaranteed delays due to admiring outlandish plants. Several species of animals and plants on Bear Mountain are listed in the Red Book, so behave respectfully towards nature. However, it is worth doing it always and everywhere.

The entrance to the reserve is through a checkpoint because of the sanatorium located here, but the entire fence is dotted with holes, which tourists successfully use.

The Karadag nature reserve is an amazing combination of unearthly landscapes, an interesting history full of legends and myths, rich flora and fauna, and a long-extinct volcano. It is located in the southeast of the Crimean peninsula, half an hour from Feodosia. There are hotels on the territory of the reserve, which is ideal for those who do not want to limit their visit to one day. And there are many such travelers, because the total territory of Karadag is almost three thousand hectares on land and at sea.

You can take a guide and start exploring the reserve on foot. Moreover, if you ask, the guide will not refuse to show not only the most popular routes, but also protected trails.

And many tourists choose another way to view Karadag - from the sea. From Sudak, Feodosia and Koktebel, boats and motor ships go here, and the views of the coast are such that, without exaggeration, it takes your breath away. Well, as a bonus - you will see Shaitan-Kapa (Golden Gate) - a rock that has the shape of an arch sticking out of the water. Sometimes ships even sail through the arch.
