Before starting work, make sure that the window and door openings are closed, there are no drafts in the room, the air temperature is in the range from +5 to +25 ° С and this temperature regime was maintained in the room for at least 5 days before starting work and three days after application .

  1. The base must comply with the requirements of SP 29.13330.2011; when working in the "Heated floor" system, it is recommended to turn off the heating at least 2 days before the start of work.
  2. The surface of the substrate must be free of dirt and dust, paint coatings and adhesives, peeling old coatings and oil stains - anything that can impair the adhesion of the material to the substrate.
  3. Weak areas of the base, protrusions and irregularities must be removed by grinding or milling.
  4. All cracks, deep potholes in the base, joints of the slabs must be embroidered, cleaned of dust, treated with a Bergauf TIEFGRUNT primer and filled with a densely diluted mixture of Bergauf Base a day before the start of work on leveling the floor.
  5. The prepared substrate must be primed with Bergauf TIEFGRUNT.
  6. Dry and highly absorbent substrates must be primed twice. Before re-applying the first coat of primer must be dried for 1 hour. Work on the device floor should be carried out no earlier than 4 hours.

If the base surface is not primed, cracks may occur during the hardening of the floor and a decrease in the strength of the hardened mortar .

Use clean containers and tools to prepare the solution.

  1. Close the mixture with water (from +5 to +25 ° C) in the proportion:

The dry mixture is gradually added to the water.

  • for 1 kg of the mixture - 0.17 - 0.19 l of water;
  • for 20 kg of the mixture - 3.40-3.80 liters of water
  • for 25 kg of the mixture - 4.25 - 4.75 liters of water.
  1. Stir until a homogeneous mass is obtained**.
  2. Wait 3-5 minutes for all chemical reactions to finish.
  3. Re-mix

** Stirring is recommended to be carried out using a special mixer for dry mixes or a conventional drill with a nozzle, the number of revolutions is not more than 500 per minute. With a large number of revolutions, a large amount of air will be involved in the mixture, which can adversely affect the quality of the surface - the formation of bumps and craters is possible.

Attention! The properties of the product are guaranteed only if the proportions of mixing with water and the procedure for preparing the solution are strictly observed.

The mixture must be used up within 1 hour of preparation.

  1. Install the beacons parallel to each other, so that during application and leveling they are like rails for the rule that the mixture will be leveled with. It is forbidden to install beacons on a gypsum mixture, it is recommended to use a fast-hardening mixture, for example, Bergauf Easy Master.
  2. A damper tape must be glued around the perimeter of the room (the height of the tape must be 1 cm greater than the thickness of the Bergauf Base application, the minimum thickness of the tape is 5 mm).
  3. After preparing the solution, evenly distribute it between the beacons with a trowel or spatula. Application must be made from the far corner (in relation to the doorway), gradually moving towards the exit.
  4. The thickness of the application should exceed the height of the beacon by 1-3 mm.
  5. After distributing the solution, it is necessary to align it using the trapezoidal rule.
  6. Put the rule on the beacons, after which, without detaching from the beacons, stretch it “toward yourself”, holding the rule at an angle of 60 °.
  7. Remove the rest of the mixture remaining on the rule with a trowel and reuse.
  8. Expansion joints are organized 24 hours after the floor is applied.
  9. Expansion joints should be perpendicular to each other, the area between the joints, if possible, should match the shape of the square as much as possible. The distance between parallel seams should be 3-6 m, the width of the seam should be 3-5 mm, the depth should be one third of the thickness of the screed. The seams must match the axes of the columns and the seams of the floor slabs.
  10. Before carrying out further work (laying the coating, pouring the finishing floor), the joints are filled with Bergauf Base leveling mortar or another suitable product.

When installing a warm floor, you should be guided by SP 29.13330.2011.

Attention!

When constructing a floor in rooms with a complex geometric shape, cutting expansion joints is required after the mixture has hardened. Expansion joints must be organized in doorways, constrictions in rooms with an irregular geometric shape and with a diagonal of more than 10 meters. Also, when installing the floor, the expansion joints in the base should be repeated.

During the hardening period (the first 5-10 days after pouring), avoid drafts in the room and direct sunlight on the surface, so as not to cause premature drying of the floor and the appearance of cracks.

Passage on the leveled surface is possible after 48 hours*.

The inclusion of the "warm floor" is possible not earlier than after 14 days.

Before laying the top coats, the surface can be leveled with Bergauf self-leveling floors.

Surface suitable for:

- Bergauf Hydrostop waterproofing devices - in accordance with the instructions on the package;

– laying tiles of all types and sizes – after 5 days*;

- pouring with finishing cement and gypsum mixtures - after 14 days;

Self-leveling floors, screeds- these are ready-made dry building mixes for leveling horizontal surfaces. The main purpose of these materials is to eliminate irregularities, increase strength or prepare the floor for the finishing layer: for tiles, laminate, linoleum, parquet and other types of floor coverings. In our store you can buy self-leveling floors, screeds, floor levelers, ranging from simple cement to industrial high-strength.

Varieties of self-leveling floors

There are cement, cement-gypsum and gypsum compositions of self-leveling floors. They are classified as compositions for preparatory (rough) work.

Method of application manual or machine. Depending on the brands, there are smoothers for wet and dry rooms, for outdoor and for indoor use. The thickness of the application of these building mixtures is from 10 to 250 mm. This indicator also depends on the brand of the manufacturer.

In this catalog you will find self-leveling floors, screeds, levelers, primers, grouts and other materials under the brands: Bergauf, Ceresit, Knauf, Litokol, Weber-Vetonit, Volma, Found, Prospectors.

Features of self-leveling floors, screeds and levelers

  • Screeds conceived is used to eliminate large differences, since this mixture can be applied in a layer up to 250 mm. On the surface after a high-quality screed, you can lay tiles, linoleum, laminate, parquet and so on.
  • Self-leveling floors, in comparison with a screed, are less labor-intensive in work. Thanks to their features, you can achieve a smoother surface than with a screed. Self-leveling floors are suitable for laying carpet and thin linoleum.
  • Floor levelers often leave a rough surface after application and are only suitable for subsequent tiling.

What is the difference between self-leveling floors, screeds

  • Dry mixes for basic alignment contain coarse-grained components, are applied in a layer from 2 to 10 cm.
  • Self-leveling floors final alignment- these are finely ground mixtures used for finishing thin-layer application under a decorative coating. Such a floor is applied in thicknesses from a few millimeters to 3 cm.

Scope of the mixture for pre-leveling the floor Base

For the implementation of a cement screed, the Bergauf Base mixture is best suited. The use of modern material will facilitate the process of leveling the floor. The Bergauf Base mixture is applied in an even layer from 6 mm to 50 mm. It is intended for application on reinforced concrete floor slabs or monolithic concrete, base (rough) screed, self-leveling floors, "warm floor", chipboard, GVL, wood, expanded clay (in case of use as a rough screed and with appropriate preparation of the base). The uniqueness of the Bergauf Base mixture also lies in the possibility of its use in rooms with both normal and humidity exceeding 60% (for example, a bathroom, a sauna, etc.).

The composition of the dry mortar Base

The composition of the Bergauf Base mixture includes: cement binder, mineral fillers, graded sand and modifying polymer additives.

When storing the material in a sealed original packaging in a dry room, the manufacturer guarantees that all the quality characteristics of the BERGAUF Base mixture will be preserved for 1 year from the date of its release.

Applying the Base pre-levelling compound

To obtain a high-quality flat Base floor, a number of requirements must be met. The base of the floor must have branded strength, with indicators not less than M 100. For better adhesion of the mixture to the floor surface, the latter must be cleaned of dirt and dust (including construction dust), oil and grease stains and damaged old coatings. Carrying out measures to clean the floor improves the adhesion of the material to the base. In addition, the prepared base should be treated with a primer, Bergauf (Tiefgrunt or Primer - depends on the specific type of base) is best suited.

Preparation of the mixture does not require much effort and time. It is necessary to mix the mixture with water (the water temperature should be in the range of + 5 ° С - + 25 ° С) in the following proportion: ≈ 0.17 - 0.19 liters of pure (tap) water is needed per kilogram of the mixture; and for 25 kilograms of dry mix, respectively, ≈ 4.25 - 4.75 liters of water. After mixing the mixture to a homogeneous mass, you need to wait 4 - 5 minutes. After repeated mixing, the solution is ready for the intended use.

The manufacturer draws the attention of its consumers to the need for strict adherence to the proportions of dilution with water and the course of preparing the solution. Compliance with the established requirements becomes the key to many years of use of the future floor!

It is unacceptable for the mixture to enter the respiratory tract and eyes of a person!

The manufacturer recommends the manual method of applying the mixture. After applying the finished solution Bergauf Base on the prepared base, it is required to distribute it evenly. Surface leveling can be done with a construction spatula or a rule.

In the case of pouring bases with complex geometric shapes, it will be necessary to organize special expansion joints (or the introduction of compensating materials into the structure of the poured floor, or the cutting of the corresponding long holes (seams) immediately after the applied mixture has set). Such expansion joints must be provided in doorways, on planes with a diagonal measurement of 10 meters or more, and narrow parts in rooms with an unusual geometric shape.

The curing period of the Bergauf Base cement screed takes two weeks after pouring. These days, direct sunlight and drafts in the repaired room should be avoided on the surface of the screed.
