Crafts from wooden kitchen spatulas. Kitchen spatula or fork. Making a wooden carved kitchen spatula "Primrose"

Since ancient times, man has been decorating his house, household items, kitchen utensils!
Distaffs, dishes, spoons were decorated not only with paintings, but also with carvings!
Carved wooden handmade kitchen spatula will help you prepare delicious healthy food and will serve as a decoration for your home! .

To make a carved kitchen spatula, we take a linden board 70 mm wide, 20 mm thick, 300 mm long, cut the ends into a cone, bring one end of the workpiece (the handle of the spatula) to 30 mm, and leave the other wide.
We plan the flat part of the workpiece, cut off the wide part (blade) up to 6 mm. leaving the narrow part of the workpiece (handle) - 20 mm.
We got a lime blank (baklusha) for making a carved kitchen spatula!

We make the markup: mark the center along the length of the blade and mark the border of the handle and blade.

With the help of any suitable circle, we denote a smooth transition from the blade to the handle and mark the handle of the blade.

For the manufacture of such a simple product, I do not consider it appropriate to use a power tool (jigsaw, drill). Armed with a sharp semicircular chisel of a suitable size, with a comfortable handle, let's start woodcarving!
First, we select, marked with a pencil, a smooth transition from the blade to the handle, then turn the workpiece over to the end, fix it, cut off the excess with a flat chisel.
On the other side of the workpiece, we do the same.

If you want to hang a spatula, make a through hole with a semicircular chisel of a suitable size.

With a semicircular chisel, at an angle, from the center marked with a pencil, we begin to cut.

Carefully chamfer from the shoulder of the shoulder blade to the first notch.

With a corner, cutting the edge of the handle, we divide the drawing and make the handle curly.

We cut the edge with a straight chisel and an oblique knife, making the pattern more embossed.

From the center of the handle, cut the sheet with a corner, separating it from each other.

Round the end of the handle with a semicircular chisel.

Cut out four petals with a semicircular chisel. We separate them from each other by a corner.

With a semicircular chisel, we chamfer the tip of the handle. From the outside, we separate the petals with a corner.

We sharpen the end of the blade with a straight wide chisel and grind it.

We have a wonderful carved kitchen spatula. Beloved to the delight and guests to surprise.

"SHOVEL KITCHEN"

Shlisselburg What is a kitchen spatula for?

In any kitchen there is such a type of utensils as a kitchen spatula.

Since people learned how to cook food in dishes, they can not do without it. It is needed for turning cutlets, mixing food in a pan, etc. At first, it looked like an ordinary stick, but over time it acquired the shape of a shoulder blade. Where it is necessary to mix a large amount of food - the spatula has the size of a small oar, and in an ordinary kitchen it has a small size - no more than a kitchen knife.

Progress

One of the indicators of the value of a material is its availability. The quality parameters include the absence of cracks, rotten knots, the absence of insect damage. It is also necessary to choose wood according to the following parameters: wood color, texture, the presence of beautiful healthy knots. In the presence of machine tools and hand-held power tools, simplification of wood processing operations is allowed. With the help of machines, several operations can be combined, which leads to faster processing of wood.

The goal has been reached. The blade is made by yourself, cheaper than in the store. In the process of manufacturing, certain experience was gained, new knowledge about the woodworking process was obtained, new skills and abilities were obtained in this field of human activity. PRODUCT SAMPLES"Kitchen spatula"

A wooden spatula for the kitchen is the simplest craft that even a child can master. Personally, I carve it in ten minutes, although I use some machines. To make it, you need a plank of any wood. I saw planks from a bar, but I can tell you where you can get such planks for free: these are wooden boxes for vegetables, which are thrown away in large quantities in any vegetable markets, they are mainly knocked together from beech planks, which are just the width suitable for making wooden shoulder blades.

First, we draw a sketch of the blade on the board:

And we cut it along the contour with a jigsaw (regular or electric). I drink on a circular saw, although it is dangerous for beginners! You can be left without a finger.

Now we give the shoulder blade its final shape, rounding off the corners and removing the excess. It is very convenient to do this on a lathe using special nozzles from sandpaper:

We sharpen the end of the blade:

We grind everything with fine sandpaper. All! The blade is ready!

You can decorate it with burning and cover with oil, such as linen.

Brief formulation of the problem.

Design and manufacture a culinary spatula. The spatula should be light, comfortable, safe to use, durable and made of environmentally friendly and affordable materials.

Relevance, identification of needs.

We have been studying at the boarding school for four years. We went on a field trip to the culinary arts. We saw how many equipment and appliances are used for cooking. This includes factory equipment and fixtures made in our carpentry workshop. The 8th grade girls showed how convenient it is to use a cooking spatula when frying vegetables, but the problem is that the spatulas are short-lived. We decided to help them update their set of culinary spatulas.

Research and analysis.

Design - analysis of existing products on the topic of the project. We examined the shoulder blades available at the school. The design of the products did not meet our requirements in terms of height and shape. The cost of a spatula in the store is 116 rubles. We always wanted to make some kind of product with our own hands, but so that it would not just lie in a box, forgotten by everyone, but would constantly benefit. It would be nice if the product will be used by other students of our school. Of course, it is difficult for us to make a chair or wardrobe. But we are quite capable of making a culinary spatula. This product will help save school money on the purchase of equipment for the culinary classroom.

A culinary spatula for cooking, according to consumers, should be:

1. comfortable and light;

2. safe;

3. durable;

4. from environmentally friendly and affordable materials;

5. inexpensive.

Product safety

The blade must be safe to use

The design and manufacturing technology of the design product must meet the following main criteria:

1. Low material consumption (economical),

2. Simplicity of design (few details).

3. Simplicity of manufacturing technology (all technological operations are available to a fourth-grader).

4. Small time spent on production.

6. Ease of use.

7. Environmental friendliness.

GOST requirements for the manufacture of culinary blades .

Culinary blades are made of soft and hard wood.

1.1. Lumber is divided into edged, one-sided edged and unedged, boards and bars. Terms and definitions - according to .

Safety precautions:

1. Carpentry workbench

    do not over-tighten the front and rear clamps of the workbench;

    you can only move the wedges in nests up and down with a mallet;

    the cover of the workbench must be protected from damage by a cutting tool;

    at the end of the work, it is necessary to remove the chips from the workbench with a brush - sweep;

2. Part marking:

    it is necessary to mark the details with a simple and sharply sharpened pencil, it is necessary to hold the marking tool correctly.

3. Sawing with a carpentry saw:

    before sawing, the workpiece should be correctly installed, securely fastened to the machine;

    saw only with a serviceable, sharply sharpened saw; put the saw on the workbench with the teeth away from you;

    you can not guide the saw blade with your finger, use wooden bars for this purpose, special stops.

4. Planing:

    securely fix the workpiece on the workbench;

    during operation, it is necessary to clean the planing tools from chips with a wooden wedge;

    work with a planer with a sharply sharpened knife;

    it is impossible to check the quality of the treated surface and the sharpness of the blade with your hands;

    on a workbench, planer tools should be placed on their side with the blade away from you.

5. Product surface finish:

    it is necessary to clean the product with a file with a serviceable and well-fitted handle and sandpaper;

    when working, you can not grab the toe of the file with the fingers of your left hand;

    Remove sawdust and sanding dust from the surface with a brush.

Appearance and moral values

Birch wood is dense. It is perfectly processed by any tool, both manual and mechanized.

There are carpentry processing of wood manually, partially mechanized, as well as fully mechanized, carried out in factories with serial or mass production.

Tools for manual and mechanized processing differ in different shapes and different nature of its movement.

Due to the fact that birch is very finely porous and dense, it lends itself well to grinding operations. The resulting surfaces are very smooth and have a silky soft sheen.

The proposed model of a spatula for cooking is interesting in that it is easy to manufacture and convenient to use. Wood is very easy to work with. It's nice that we can make a necessary and useful thing with our own hands, owning a tool for manual woodworking. All details of the product are well polished, this makes the surface smooth, on which the wood grain is clearly visible, which ensures the natural and unique beauty of the product.

initial ideas.

Technological process of blade manufacturing

To get a durable spatula for cooking, you need the direction of the fibers to match the length of the product. If you do not follow this rule, the product will quickly break down. Wood is more resistant to compression and tension along the grain.

Masterok is a class 4 company that produces the world's best culinary spatulas for cooking.

A spatula is an indispensable tool in the kitchen. It is used in the heat treatment of vegetables, fruits, berries.

Use only once kitchen spatulas for frying vegetables and you will constantly use them in your work. Shovels can be rented from the school workshop.

Any products of the "Masterok" company are a combination of beauty and convenience.

Project evaluation:

And so, the culinary spatula for cooking is ready. We believe that in general it meets the selected criteria. The product is economical, since it is possible to use the remnants of the material for its manufacture. Manufacturing technology includes the operations that we learned in carpentry lessons: planing, sawing, cleaning, grinding. Since these operations are simple, it took not much time to make the blade - 3 lessons.

The quality of the product was appreciated by 8th grade students at culinary lessons.

Culinary blades turned out to be comfortable, light, durable. All the kids liked them.

Wooden utensils are ideal for cooking in non-stick cookware. Plus, they don't burn your hands. And they look good and it's nice to take in your hand. Some pluses. But how to properly care for them?

DAILY WASH:

Rinse wooden spatulas immediately after cooking. If food dries on them, you will have to soak them, and this will cause the wood to crack. For the same reason, you should not load wooden utensils into the microwave.

Contact with water should be reduced to short procedures.

HOW TO GET RID OF FOOD SMELL:

Sometimes wooden utensils strongly absorb odors and become unpleasant to use. A simple trick will help you.

Wash the spatula or spoon with soap and water, and soak in a strong solution of baking soda (half a cup of baking soda to a glass of water) for 20 minutes. Or, rub a spatula thickly with wet baking soda and leave for 45 minutes.

Rinse afterwards and let dry.

HOW TO CHOOSE SPOONS AND SHOVEL CORRECTLY:

The best wooden spatulas and spoons are juniper. Juniper root has such a dense texture that it hardly absorbs moisture.

Bamboo items are next in strength. But they are specially treated from moisture during production.

And finally, in last place are ordinary hardwood spoons. They tend to absorb moisture and crack fairly quickly.

HOW TO PREPARE THE UTILITY FOR USE

Lubricate a new spatula with refined oil and put in the oven for 5 minutes at 180 degrees. Remove, let cool, and wipe off excess oil.

Now your spatula is saturated with oil and will not absorb water, odors and crack as much.

WHAT TO DO IF IT CRACKS AFTER A COUPLE OF YEARS OF SERVICE?

Or are there chips and dents on the wood? All irregularities can be carefully straightened with sandpaper. Then repeat the calcination procedure with oil.

Bonus tip:

Did you know that you can use a dry wooden spatula to check if the oil is hot enough in a pan? Just dip the tip of the spatula into the oil, and if air bubbles appear on it, the oil is hot enough.
