Plants in a light bulb with their own hands. Terrarium in a light bulb: a whole world with a closed ecosystem. Which light is best for growth

Still doubt that quite interesting things can be made from unnecessary recyclables? Today we offer you to make crafts from light bulbs, namely flower vases.
Of course, such a vase will be quite small in size, but it will look extremely stylish. It may well decorate a house, office or any other room. Any flowers will look great in this vase.

You will need:

  • Light bulb (it is best to choose a large volume);
  • Aluminum wire (you can use another one, but practice shows that aluminum looks prettier);
  • wire cutters;
  • Nail or hexagon.

Attention! In view of the fact that there is work with glass, it is better to disassemble the light bulb with goggles and gloves.

Bulb preparation

We take wire cutters and break off the contact, we get to the glass tube.

We take out this tube, take a nail or a hexagon, put it into a glass tube. Using it as a lever, gradually press it up or down.

With the help of wire cutters, remove unnecessary fragments. If required, we process the metal base with a file.

Did you manage? Then the further manufacture of this craft from a light bulb will not be particularly difficult.

Stand

The work with the light bulb is now complete. Let's start making the stand. Take the wire and bend it into the shape you want to see. For example, I made it with a convenient square base, but you can fantasize endlessly here.

The fastening (end of the post) must be left long, because we will wrap this end around the base. Here you can use two types of fastening:

1. Wrap the base with wire several times;
2. Wire the base once and use cold welding.

Everything, the lamp is ready. It is good to install such a lamp on the desktop. Colleagues really liked such an interesting device - they, passing by, stop and admire. I have no doubt that you also liked the idea and you will hurry to bring it to life.

Here are some other crafts you can make from light bulbs:

With the help of this master class, you will learn how to make crafts - “flowers in a light bulb”. With such an interesting product, you can decorate any room or veranda, or make a nice gift to your dear people. This craft is not too difficult, but you will have to be careful and careful.

For work we need:

Pliers;
- Light bulb (simple);
- Rope;
- A bouquet of flowers for the size of this light bulb.

The main point will be the removal of the inside from the light bulb. When doing this work, you need to show painstaking and even “tenderness” to the product so that the light bulb does not burst during the preparation.

First you need to disconnect and remove the bulb base with pliers. To do this, remove the top layer of the base and then carefully break off what is left. We take out the glass leg of the light bulb and get an empty lamp bulb. Be sure to clean the edges of excess glass and bumps.

In order for the craft to be hung, we wrap the top of the hole with a rope or cord. The light bulb itself can no longer be decorated, although if you really want to, you can paint it or paste over it with rhinestones and stones.

As a final touch, we pour water and put our bouquet in our unusual “vase”.
  • Energy-saving lamps are replacing old analogues from stores and our daily lives, and are becoming more and more popular.
  • It is always a pity to simply throw away a burned-out light bulb, especially since it can be used for some more time, even for its intended purpose for lighting. Of course, a burnt out light bulb itself
  • An ordinary burnt out light bulb, without hesitation, we send it to the trash can. But if you have at least a little desire and imagination, then such a light bulb can serve in a new quality.
  • An essential parameter is the service life of the lighting device, or, more simply, the durability of the light bulb. On sale there are many modifications of energy-saving light bulbs with a long

Many of you have indoor plants at home that are pleasing to the eye, serve as decorations for the interior and supply you with oxygen. There are an incredibly large number of species of such plants and also many ways to grow and maintain them.

Today we will design a self-sufficient ecosystem that does not require personal care and will be a good decoration for your interior or an original gift.

florarium, plant terrarium- a special closed container made of glass or other transparent materials and intended for keeping and breeding plants. A certain air humidity and temperature are created inside, which contributes to the creation of an environment for the normal development and existence of plants. Florariums appeared in the middle of the 19th century. The first plants that began to be used in florariums were various types of ferns.

As follows from the description, we need a closed glass container. You can use glass jars, medical flasks, bottles, in general, any vessel that closes hermetically without problems. Searching for “closed ecosystem”, I found an interesting option that uses an ordinary incandescent light bulb, and a bunch of material on how to disassemble it without damaging the glass and plant plants there. This option seemed to me quite interesting and easy to assemble, so I decided to try it.

And so, what we need to create our miniature ecosystem:

1) Small stones for drainage and stones for composition
2) Sand
3) Fertile soil
4) Various types of moss
5) Bark, small branches for composition
6) Stone or driftwood for the platform
7) Incandescent light bulb
8) Two-component adhesive or hot melt adhesive
9) Pliers
10) Flat screwdriver
11) Tweezers
12) Syringe
13) Water
14) Paper

After a short walk through the forest and the outskirts of the city, I found all the material I needed without any problems.

Let's start assembling. The first thing to do is to prepare our light bulb. With the help of pliers and some force, carefully break the black ceramic insulation, being careful not to bend the base of the bulb and break the glass.

You should have a hole like the photo below.

Next, using a flat screwdriver, you need to break and squeeze out the glass rod on which the filament is attached and remove it from the light bulb. Try to make the hole as large as possible, this will make it easier for you to plant the plants in the future. After all the excess has been removed, I recommend rinsing the light bulb with water in order to avoid contact with small glass particles.

Next, we need to give our light bulb some stability. You can glue legs from something to it, you can glue the light bulb itself to a beautiful snag or, in my case, a stone. To securely bond the glass to the stone, you can use a two-component adhesive or hot melt adhesive. I used Poxipol two part glue.

Now we need to make a drainage system. Drainage is a system for removing water through the roots and soil, which allows plant roots to breathe when the soil contains a lot of moisture.

Drainage is very easy to do. In our case, we place a small amount of small stones on the bottom. For convenience, I made a tube out of paper, which will also facilitate the process of filling the light bulb with sand and soil, as well as save the walls from pollution.

Then we fill our light bulb with a fertile layer of earth. Do not be afraid if other plant roots or humus get into the soil - this will only play into your hands, as it will provide your system with useful organic substances.

The next stage is creative. Here you need to show all your artistic abilities to the maximum and beautifully place the components collected in the forest. To make it easier to plant the plants in the bulb, I used tweezers and a ballpoint pen refill. As a result, I got this composition.

The final step in creating an ecosystem will be the addition of a few drops of water. To do this, you can use a medical syringe. It is not worth watering the plants abundantly, excess moisture will lead to their death. After we have watered, it is necessary to seal the bulb hermetically. There are no special rules here, you can use anything: an acorn, a cork from a wine bottle, a plastic cap, a wooden stick, etc., the main thing is that air does not get into the structure. I used ordinary black buttons, having previously sealed the holes for attaching them to the material.

After some time, condensation from water drops will begin to form on the walls of the light bulb, you should not be afraid of this, which means that the process of the birth of life is proceeding as it should. These drops will periodically appear and then settle in the soil, simulating rain.

Excess water will go into the drain at the bottom of the light bulb, provided that you organize it correctly. If you suddenly realize that you have poured too much water into your florarium, simply open the hole and leave it open for several hours so that the excess moisture evaporates, then seal the light bulb again.

A day after the construction of my florarium, I decided that the composition needed to be supplemented and attached another light bulb to my platform stone, but this time it was bigger. This is how the final version of my ecosystem now began to look.

By the same principle, the English David Latimer grows tradescantia (a genus of perennial evergreen herbaceous plants of the Kommelinaceae family) in a bottle, which has been in a closed space for more than 40 years and has never been watered.

Sometimes, in order to please yourself or others, just a little thing is enough, for example, this tiny miracle!

In this article, we will tell you in detail how to make a mini-flower garden in the most ordinary light bulb.

You will need:

1. Light bulb (if you are creating a light bulb terrarium for the first time, it is better to use a larger copy).

2. Tweezers, thin-nose pliers, scissors, flat screwdriver, protective glasses.

3. Sand or small pebbles (it is not recommended to use ordinary soil for planting - it can become moldy in a confined space).

4. For planting in a space without access to air, Tillandsia (Tillandsia) and various types of moss are best suited. This plant is very unpretentious, which makes it an ideal "inhabitant" of our lamp terrarium. You can buy Tillandsia in a regular flower or online store.

5. Decor elements for the terrarium - pieces of colored glass, beads, plastic figurines, can be placed in the lampoterrarium of inhabitants made of plastic.

Do not use: ordinary soil, freshly harvested moss, do not store lampoterrarium in the dark or in direct sunlight.

Once a week, use a spray bottle to moisten the terrarium microflora.

So, let's begin:

1. Take a transparent light bulb.

2. Wear safety goggles (for safety) and carefully remove the bulb holder:

First, remove the metal tip. Pull the tip of the black material slightly towards you.

Gradually pull the black element out until it is completely out of the cartridge.

Gently but firmly grasp the lamp and remove the glass inside the lamp.

Use a screwdriver as a lever. Carefully break the small tubes inside the lamp with it.

Remove any remaining wires with pliers.

Finish the edges of the hole so that there are no sharp pieces of glass left.

The basis for the lamp flower garden is ready.

3. Glue small plastic pads to the bottom of the light bulb for stability. It can be suction cups for bathroom accessories.

4. Take sand or the smallest pebbles. If you are using river or sea sand, rinse thoroughly before use. Bake the sand on a baking sheet to remove dirt and dry it. The temperature must be at least 300 degrees. After washing and drying, the sand is ready for use.

5. Pour the required amount into the lamp using a small funnel or a folded piece of cardboard (see photo).

6. Take a dry floristic mixture (containing moss, reindeer moss) or Tillandsia seeds. Sow inside the lamp in a small amount. Alternatively, take pieces of dry moss and a plant and place inside with tweezers. Pay attention to choose the most beautiful arrangement of individual elements.

7. Add tiny toys, animal figurines, beads, beads, decorative pieces, pretty pebbles, twigs, wire. At this stage, it is important to maintain balance and not oversaturate the composition with an abundance of details.

The popularity of small do-it-yourself terrariums is increasing. A very useful and cute invention that does not require material investments, effort and special skills.

All that is needed to create a green eco object is a desire, as well as tools. So, for a home terrarium you will need:

  • Ordinary light bulb. You can take the standard "Ilyich lamp", or a special one for lighting large rooms. She's bigger and more attractive. The main thing is that the lamp is transparent.
  • Stone, stand or silicone pads to be attached to the bottom of the light bulb so that it is stable and does not fall.
  • Tree bark, small stones, shells, sand for filling, drainage and decoration.
  • Sifted earth, moss, small plants with root system.
  • Lid to cover the light bulb.
  • Tools: scissors, tongs, pliers, tweezers, screwdriver, syringe with water.

1. The very first step in creating a small terrarium is preparing a light bulb. Before starting all the steps, spread out the newspaper and put on gloves to protect yourself from splinters. The complexity of this stage lies in the fact that it is quite difficult to clean the light bulb. If you can’t do it the first time, connect a friend or brother to the cleaning light bulb. This is true if the terrarium is made by a fragile girl.
2. Use pliers to open the top of the bulb, remove the contents with them, take out everything that was there very carefully, carefully collect the fragments so as not to get hurt.
3. Wipe the inside walls of the light bulb with a long cotton swab.
4. Next, we proceed to filling the light bulb. Take the sifted earth and sand. Use the second one as a drain. It is best if the amount of sand exceeds the amount of earth. This is necessary in order not to create an atmosphere of decay in a closed space. If there is no sand, you can use only the earth, but then you need to water it quite a bit.
5.Fill the light bulb first with sand (a little), add earth, small stones. Align, try to create a composition by connecting your imagination. The sand must first be washed and dried in the oven.
6. Next, run moss into the terrarium with tweezers or a long stick, “seat” it in sand and earth.
7. Now it's the turn of the plant. Gently plant it in the ground next to the moss, being careful not to damage the leaves and roots.

8.Add tree bark, plastic figurines, or small shells to spice up your terrarium.
9. After the composition is built, water the plants with a syringe and close the lid tightly. The lid can be taken from a cone with valerian, or you can use nuts, pebbles in the form of a plug.

10. For stability, the lamp can be put on silicone legs, hung or glued to a stone.

It is better to put such a terrarium in a dark place where there are no direct sunlight. It can be placed on a desk, window sill, shelf. It will please the eye, it will be a great gift or a mini home ecosystem that lives by its own laws. The light bulb forms its own cycle of water, which, evaporating in a closed space without air, again turns into drops of liquid. These, in turn, feed the plants, which release carbon dioxide. Thus, life in the terrarium develops.
