On the websites of banking organizations, you can find complete information about deposits and interest on them, which will allow you to navigate the variety of products. It is convenient to use a deposit card.

What is a contribution card?

A deposit card is a financial card that will help the client earn. You put your finances on it and use them at any time, and interest is added to the balance of the account.

At the moment, there are two types of income cards - debit and credit. On credit cards, interest is added to the balance of funds placed in the account.

We can say that an income card works in the same way as a bank deposit. But the income on it, unlike the contribution, is not guaranteed. In some financial institutions, the amount of accrued interest depends on the activity of using an income card, in some - on the size of the account balance.

The deposit rate is the income expressed as a percentage per year, which is added to the deposit amount. Banking organizations are motivated to put their money on deposit for a long time: the higher they are, the higher the rate offered by a financial institution.

The client can make any deposit: in rubles, in foreign currency, with replenishment, with capitalization, etc. but keep in mind that the more actions are provided for by the deposit, the less interest is charged on it.

The yield on deposits in rubles is always higher than on savings in dollars or euros. But if you sometimes need foreign funds, you need to open multi-currency deposits - this way the risks will be distributed, and the decrease in one type of currency will be offset by an increase in another.

Great benefits can be obtained from seasonal deposits, which are offered for opening during the holidays or at a specified time of the year - usually the interest on them is the highest.

Types of card deposits

There are various types of card deposits. Income cards are debit and credit.

There are several criteria by which contributions are qualified. Deposits are recognized by such parameters as the time of placement, the purpose of financial products, functionality, and also by currency.

By time, deposits are divided into demand deposits and term deposits. For the first deposit, the organization must return the money in any period of time at the first request of the client. Since the company does not accept a deposit for a certain time, the rate on such a deposit is small - no more than 0.1-1%.

Term deposits are placed for a certain time specified in the agreement. Most often there are deposits for 1,3, 6 months and for a year. In order to receive a full rate, you need to keep finances on deposit throughout the entire duration of the contract. In another situation, the bank will return the deposit, but with a reduced percentage.

Term deposits are divided into savings, savings and settlement. The most common of them is savings. For this deposit, the actions of replenishment and withdrawal of money in parts are prohibited. Savings deposits usually have the highest rates. Savings deposits usually have the highest income.

Cumulative investments are calculated for those who want to replenish the deposit during the term of the agreement. They are intended for those who want to save some large amount (for example, for an expensive purchase).

The settlement deposit allows the client to maintain control over finances, manage savings by performing income or expenditure activities. There are also universal contributions.

Special contributions are offered to a limited group of individuals. For example, banking organizations can develop special products for pensioners, students, etc.

Deposits can also be divided into types according to the currency in which money is saved. So there are deposits in rubles and in foreign currency - most often in dollars or euros. In addition, there are also multi-currency deposits.

Deposit card in Russian banks

From the first day of opening, Promsvyazbank's income card allows you to earn. Up to 4.5% per year is added to the account balance. The amount of accruals depends on the type of card and on the balance of money in the account. If you pay for more goods and services in more than 900 organizations, you will receive discounts.

The Tinkoff Black card has the following advantages over others:

  • a good rate on the card balance of 8%;
  • also for purchases, up to 20% is given to the account for special offers, in some cases 5%, for other purchases 1%.

In Binbank, you can issue a card and receive up to 5% per year in rubles, 3% in dollars and 2% in euros from the balance of money in the account. The higher the stake, the higher the balance. With the smallest balance of 15 thousand rubles. You earn and pay interest every month.

Up to 10% per year is added to the balance of money on the Russian Standard card. The specific value of the rate depends on the amount of purchases on the card.

Two types of accounts are available for cards of all classes:

  • current;
  • cumulative.

The first one functions like a simple income card. The customer makes purchases every month, but by the end of the settlement period, the card must have a stipulated amount of money.

A savings account is a demand deposit, to which the client does not have access from the card when performing actions through ATMs or terminals.

You can also purchase an MTS Money card with an income of up to 7.5% on the balance of your savings account. All you need to do is open a Savings Plus account. There is a piggy bank for change.

Rates

How useful are income cards?

The main advantage of income cards is the accrual of interest on cash account balances. And it should be noted that often this percentage is close to the rates on deposits in the largest Russian banking organizations.

The highest return a Savings Bank customer can earn is 8.4% on the "Save Online" deposit. This deposit does not have the most flexible conditions - it does not have the actions of replenishment and withdrawal in parts. The maximum that a client can gain is the choice between paying interest to another account or capitalization.

At the same time, the rate on the most profitable cards is from 7 to 8%. In addition, cards with interest on account balances allow their holders to use money at any suitable time without losing interest.

In the banking organization VTB 24 on the Comfort deposit, you can also withdraw from the deposit from 15 thousand rubles and replenish it with no less than 30 thousand rubles. but a large percentage of the deposit of 8.20% will be received only by wealthy depositors from one and a half million rubles for a period of not more than 181 days.

An important fact is that all money on debit cards, just like in the situation with a bank deposit, is insured by the deposit insurance system, and in a situation where a license from a banking organization is liquidated, cardholders can hope for insurance compensation within one million 400 thousand rubles.

Disadvantages of income cards

Income cards have some disadvantages. When choosing the right type of savings card, there are important points to consider.

You should carefully study the conditions for obtaining, servicing and using this financial product. Income mainly depends on the amount of the balance on the card.

Typically, banking organizations determine the values on which the rates depend, that is, the larger the balance, the higher the rate. And sometimes it can be the other way around. Also, the conditions often indicate the smallest amount of the balance on the card, starting from which interest will be calculated.

It is important to take into account the costs of card service, because with insignificant balances on the card, the percentage of income may not reimburse the costs of its service. You can talk about gaining income on a card if it contains at least 10 thousand rubles, which allow you to reimburse costs and make a profit.

For an ordinary person who saves money for a car or other large purchase, a deposit is a good means of saving and accumulating. This is a low-risk instrument that shows a stable profitability. Contribution advantages:

  1. Ease of Understanding
  2. Can be quickly opened, sometimes even online
  3. Deposit funds up to 1.4 million are protected by the DIA. The risks of losing money are minimal.

In addition to deposits, there are other similar low-risk tools for saving money - this is a savings account and an income card. Funds on debit cards and savings accounts are also protected by the deposit insurance law.

To begin with, let's compare these 3 tools in terms of convenience and profitability. It is imperative to choose the right investment instrument based on profitability. This will help you get the highest return with the least risk. For example, we have 100 thousand rubles and we want to invest them for a period of 3 months.. Which instrument to choose for investment?

Investments - pros and cons

Benefits of deposits:

  1. The deposit can be opened quickly online. Your money will start working immediately.
  2. Stable interest for the entire term of the deposit - rate does not change
  3. There is a possibility of replenishment. Tinkoff has a bonus for replenishment from another bank (at certain rates)
  4. The deposit is unlikely to be taken away in case of fraud and compromise of your card.

Disadvantages of deposits

  1. You can not withdraw money from the deposit (in the case of non-replenished deposits, which are very numerous)
  2. Big min. the investment amount is 50 thousand rubles, in the case of Tinkoff.
  3. It will not be possible to quickly withdraw the entire amount, you need to close the deposit, then transfer it to the card. It may take a day. For some deposits with early closure - you need to go to the bank.
  4. There are so-called pseudo-replenished deposits - you can replenish only the first month.

In the case of Tinkoff, we will receive an income of 1381 rubles for 3 months of storage.

Savings accounts - pros and cons

Savings accounts are similar to deposits. At the same time, they are devoid of the disadvantages of a deposit - you can add and withdraw money at any time.

Advantages of savings accounts

  1. You can withdraw and deposit money without losing interest
  2. Small minimum opening amount from 1 thousand rubles
  3. Validity is unlimited
  4. The ability to set goals and understand how much you save up for the "Dream"
  5. The account on which the funds are stored - 42301810 - i.e. similar to deposit accounts. Funds are insured by DIA

Disadvantages of savings accounts:

  1. The bank can change the account rate at any time without your consent, this changes the yield
  2. No top up bonus
  3. Different rates for different limits. With large limits of several million rubles, there may be a rate of 0.01% per annum - on demand.

In the case of a savings account, the Tinkoff rate is 5%, capitalization is monthly. The estimated income calculated on our deposit calculator is 1251.76 ₽.

Income card - pros and cons

An income card is a card on which interest is charged on the balance of funds. Those. You can use the card to spend and save at the same time.

Benefits of income card:

  1. Money is always with you, you can spend
  2. There is a cashback for operations - additional income.
  3. Withdrawal of money and replenishment without loss of interest on the card.
  4. The funds are held in the linked account 40817 and are insured by the state.

Regarding the insurance of funds by the state, this does not work for all cards. There is such a profitable Megafon card, the funds on it are not insured, because. the issuing bank is not included in the deposit insurance system.

Cons of income card

  1. There are commissions for cash withdrawals and limits.
  2. Not very high security - there are cases of card fraud related to compromising the card at retail outlets and on websites.
  3. The bank can change the rate on the income card at any time.
  4. Interest is accrued subject to certain conditions (the total amount spent on the card), in the case of Tinkoff 6%, 5% is accrued for amounts up to 300,000 rubles.
  5. There is a service fee
  6. You need to wait for the card, issue and receive it in 1 day will not work.
  7. You need to know the PIN code to withdraw cash. You must keep the card with you and be responsible for its safety.

In the case of Tinkoff, at a rate of 6%, our income on the card for 3 months amounted to 1503.36 rubles.

Comparison results - what to choose?

  1. Place. Tinkoff income card - 1503 rubles
  2. Place. Tinkoff contribution - 1381 rubles
  3. Savings account - 1251 rubles.

If you want a good return, your choice in the case of Tinkoff Bank is a debit income card.
It is possible for other banks to have different rates, but for Tinkoff this is the case. You need to choose a card with a good percentage of accrual on the balance.

The key difference between a deposit and a debit card and a savings account is the stability of the rate for the term of the deposit! In the case of a card and an account, the bank can change the rate on any day and your profitability will decrease.
From the above, I would like to draw the following conclusions:

  1. If I only had 100 thousand rubles, but I would choose a Tinkoff income card and make purchases using it. This is the most convenient and profitable option for me.
  2. But if I had 1 million 100 thousand, then I would leave 100 thousand rubles on the card, and put 1 million on a savings account. The amount on the card would allow me to pay anywhere, receive cashback. At the same time, if the card is compromised, losing 100 thousand rubles is better than losing the entire amount of 1.1 million rubles at once. If the money on the card ran out, I would easily transfer it from the savings account in a couple of minutes. In my opinion, a card + savings account is very convenient and better than a deposit. Money is always at hand and no need to wait a day.
  3. If you are afraid for the safety of your money - your choice is a contribution. There is maximum safety and security. Some banks offer deposits that can be opened and closed only in your presence. The risk of withdrawal of money from the deposit by fraudsters is minimal.

In the modern financial market, there are offers that combine several banking products at once. The most common of these combines a deposit and a plastic card. The card is often issued to the client as a free bonus in gratitude for choosing the deposit of this particular bank.

Some banks give instant issuance cards, on the front of which the name of the client does not appear. For example, Promsvyazbank can present a Good Mood instant card on the day the deposit is opened. Clients of other banking institutions receive a gift only for selected deposits with a higher interest rate. Still others give a debit or credit card to all depositors without exception. This is what the Orient Express bank does. There are also those who issue a free card to those deposit holders who have signed an agreement for a certain amount, for example, 700 thousand rubles.

Gift cards can be debit and credit cards with an overdraft, simple or gold, belonging to the international payment systems Visa or MasterCard. The review of this article also includes those banks that issue the most interesting card product for Muscovites today - a contactless plastic card.

The Russian payment market has only recently begun to work with contactless plastic cards. Already several domestic banks offer such as a gift to their clients in Moscow. In Europe, these cards are now very popular. In many countries, they have become a means of payment even in the subway, not to mention shops. For the first time, contactless cards began to appear in the early 2000s among MasterCard holders, then the Visa payment system adopted a new product.

Such a card has an additional built-in microprocessor in addition to the usual microchip or magnetic stripe. You can pay for the purchase with a card by attaching it to the payment terminal. At the same time, you do not need to let go of the plastic from your hands, giving it to the seller, or rolling it through the terminal. Those. no actions are taken that reduce the level of security of the electronic wallet. Service time is reduced to an instant. The payment amount is usually small and limited by the issuer.

Cards with PayPass or PayWave logos indicate that they belong to innovative technologies. In Moscow, the network of retail outlets is expanding, where you can pay for goods or services with a contactless card. Not to mention using it on foreign trips to the US or Europe, where similar one-touch payment technology has been common for almost a decade.

What to choose: a deposit with the possibility of replenishment or a profitable debit card with favorable interest on the balance? This question interests many investors. Especially now, when the banking system of the Russian Federation is under the strong influence of Western sanctions. Let's look at these fundraising tools, identify their advantages and disadvantages. We will find out where it is more profitable and easier to store money.

Bank deposit with the possibility of replenishment. Advantages and disadvantages

Deposit with replenishment is a type of deposit in which the owner can replenish the deposit an infinite number of times and for any amount. You can do this throughout the duration of the contract. Usually such deposits are opened only with the possibility of replenishment. But there are banks that offer deposit accounts with cash deposits and withdrawals. At the same time, almost all banks that offer such products set a certain minimum limit for the client, which must always be on the account. For example, if the minimum deposit limit is 30,000 rubles, then the client cannot lower it, only increase it.
Imagine a situation where you have 50,000 rubles on your account with a minimum limit of 20,000. You can only withdraw 30,000 rubles, since you cannot lower the minimum limit.

No, of course, you can withdraw the entire amount, but in this case the contract will be considered invalid, because you violate its terms. Interest will be fully deducted or recalculated, depending on the agreement and conditions for opening an account.

The undeniable advantage of deposits is insurance. Any accounts not exceeding 700,000 rubles are insured. In the event of a bank failure or other trouble, depositors will not lose their money.

Pitfalls of deposits with replenishment

  1. Deposits in ruble terms have higher interest rates than foreign currency deposits.
  2. Most banks set conditions for a minimum deposit amount. As a rule, the minimum amount of replenishment starts from 1000 rubles, which means that you will not be able to replenish your account with 500 or 900 rubles.
  3. Penalties for early closure. If you close the deposit before the expected time, the bank may write off interest or apply sanctions in the form of charging the minimum interest rate, which is provided for demand deposits.

Income debit card. Advantages and disadvantages

An income card is a regular one that can be used to pay for purchases, withdraw money, and perform any operations to debit and credit funds. The only difference from conventional debit cards is that interest is charged on the minimum monthly account balance. As a rule, it varies from 1% to 10% per annum. Accumulative plastic may differ by payment systems (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), status (Gold, Platinum, etc.), currency (rubles, US dollars, etc.). As in the case of deposits, all funds on the account to which the card is attached are insured without fail. Remember that only those accounts that do not exceed 700,000 rubles are insured.

Pitfalls for holders of accumulative cards

  1. There is always a risk of theft, forgery, cracking of plastic with subsequent write-off of the balance of available funds.
  2. Many banks put forward certain requirements for the amount of the balance of funds. For example, your account must have at least 10,000 rubles, etc.
  3. Other requirements of banks. For example, in order to accrue interest on the balance on the Russian Standard card, you need to use it at least once a month (make purchases, deposit funds, etc. in an amount not less than 10,000 rubles per month). In the case of Tinkoff Bank, you need to constantly monitor the presence of a minimum balance.
  4. Plastic release fee and annual maintenance.

Differences between a savings card and a deposit with the possibility of replenishment

Taking into account all the pros and cons, it is impossible to give specific advice on choosing a particular banking product. It all depends on the specific case, on the possibilities and wishes of the depositor. For example, for those who are not confident in their abilities and are going to save small amounts every month or every few weeks, it is better to choose a savings debit card. The interest is higher there, and the requirements for contributions are much more loyal. For those who are confident in their abilities and know for sure that they can deposit larger amounts of money, it is better to open a deposit with replenishment.
This way you can avoid pitfalls: an annual service fee, the possibility of plastic theft or hacking, but lose the tidbits. On the other hand, both considered methods of accumulating money are suitable for those who can wait and do not want to take risks. And who does not risk, he does not drink champagne. The investment market opens up huge opportunities for investors. Today you can play securities, speculate in currencies, invest in businesses, MFIs, lend, etc.
