For tumbling, special drums with abrasive materials (emery, sand) or circular vibrators are used, which are informed by vibrations from 15 to 50 Hz.

Patination
Another way to give the surface of an artificial stone an antique look is to cover it with a patina.
Patina comes in various shades - from green to brown. In the natural environment, it is formed as a result of adverse environmental influences.

Technology:
- Clean the surface of the tile prepared for patination.
- Apply the patina composition using a swab. Avoid applying an excessive layer, otherwise the risk of varnish sticking to the substrate increases.
- Wait 20 minutes and gently wash off the layer with a pad soaked in patina solvent. The indentations and irregularities of the tiles will retain some of the varnish, which will provide the material with a unique touch of antiquity.

Decoupage is an artistic technique that involves gluing individual patterns, as well as entire paintings, onto a wide variety of objects. The name of this technique in translation from French means "cut". Despite the fact that this type of creativity originated in China, this trend came to Europe only in the 17th century as art for the poor. The peasants could not afford to decorate their homes with expensive finishes, as a result of which the decoupage technique arose. However, modern designers widely use the decor technique and apply it in a wide variety.
I accidentally came up with the idea of decoupage on tiles. I bought a hot stand with a tile on a flea, which, due to old age, fell apart in my hands. I had to replace it with something. So it occurred to me to use decoupage.
This is the simplest technique I know of, and it's also very fast.
You need PVA glue, varnish and any other pictures.
We first degrease the tile, apply a napkin to the surface and glue it with a flat brush. Glue is applied from the outside.
Since I needed an old surface, I aged it with a two-step craquelure.
I love this effect.
At the end of the work, the product should be varnished to create a protective layer against possible damage. Depending on the type of lacquer, a matte or glossy surface effect can be obtained. For this purpose, acrylic-based varnish is well suited.
