How to make a canopy from the sun on the lake. How to make a beach awning, a canopy with your own hands? An alternative canopy

If you are a fan of relaxing on the beach, then a homemade sun canopy will be a real find for you. When compared with a large umbrella, you can be sure that it will cost less, as it is made from improvised materials, and it is easy to make it yourself, in the garage or at home. The design is lightweight, collapsible, so that it can be laid even in

Preparation of materials

If you decide to make a canopy from the sun, then you need to prepare certain tools and materials:

  • hand drill;
  • PVC pipe;
  • bolts;
  • tent pegs;
  • rubber mallet;
  • plugs;
  • washers;
  • tarpaulin.

To carry out the work, it will be necessary to modify the plugs, but this will be discussed below.

When a sun canopy is constructed using the materials and tools mentioned above, the plugs need to be modified. Holes for the bolt are made in each of them, the fasteners must be inserted together with the washer and nut, and then tightened well.

The next step is to install plugs on long PVC pipes. Plugs must be hammered in with a rubber mallet. This will allow you to install them more thoroughly. PVC adapters should be installed on the end of the pipes on the other side, the master must walk through them with a rubberized hammer. On one end of the fourth pipe, plugs without bolts must be installed, while on the second - adapters. This will provide a support structure for the awning. With the help of a coupling, these blanks will be turned into high sticks for the front of the canopy, two short ones will be located behind. Holes must be made in the upper part of the part, paracord will pass through them.

When a sun canopy is made, it should be supplemented with a tarpaulin or any other fabric. A paracord is passed through the corners of the material and pulled in different directions. The ends of the rope should be tied to stakes and hammered at an angle to the surface. In one of the corners of the front of the structure, you need to install a long pipe. Obliquely located short. The tension of the tarpaulin can be adjusted with a rope by passing it through the holes that are located at the top of the pipe. Once the two tubes are in place, the paracord should be adjusted again. The bolts should go through the cutouts in the tarpaulin, this will help increase the fabric tension. The resulting fastening must be fixed with another nut, only then the coating will not fly off with gusts of wind. On this we can assume that the canopy is ready. They can be used.

An alternative canopy

A camouflage net for a sun canopy can act as a roof. But the second version of this design can be made by you using a simpler technology. To do this, prepare sticks, linen, rope, pegs, nails. These tools and materials are easy to find in the garage or home, in the closet or attic. Thus, the canopy will be completely free.

The sticks will act as supports to support the awning. You will need 3 blanks, which can be made of aluminum or wood. To create a frame, supports are needed, the length of which can vary from 110 to 150 cm. Two such elements need to be prepared, while one stick will have dimensions from 200 to 220 cm, but the thickness of the support will be 25-30 mm. Having found a rope or twine, you must cut it into four pieces, the length of each of which will not exceed 1.5 m. you need to drill holes for the rope or install self-tapping screws that are left half screwed in. You will need two nails, each of which will be approximately 80 mm long.

For reference

Such a beach canopy from the sun will not last long, it is not intended for repeated use. This is due to the fact that the construction is carried out in a hurry.

Assembly process

On two sticks, or rather on their ends, it is necessary to hammer nails to half the length. The remaining stick must be used in order to drill holes at its ends with an indent from the edge of about 5 cm. On this, we can assume that the frame is almost ready. If the tubes are made of aluminum, then the studs are wrapped with electrical tape.

When you are making a beach sun canopy, the next step is to work on fabric, the width of which should be less than the distance between the holes on the supports. Excess can be cut off or tucked in place. The length of the sheet is usually about 220 cm, you can take it. Now the master uses a knife or scissors to make holes in the corners of the tent. A prepared rope is threaded through them, which is tied into knots. The material must be connected to the supports of the future canopy.

Now we just have to put everything together, for this, two racks with nails at the ends are dug in on the shore, the nails are installed on the crossbars with holes, you can hang an awning across the width, the hanging edges will be located in the center. Prepared pegs need to be driven into the ground with a hammer.

Stationary canopy

A canopy from the sun and rain can also be made in the form of a stationary structure. To do this, prepare gravel, sand, wooden beams, as well as cement. You will need fasteners for the frame, as well as a mixture for disinfecting wood or protecting metal from corrosion. The roof can be covered with polycarbonate. But if the canopy is fabric, then a tarpaulin or any other dense material, for example, a polymer fabric made of polyamide threads, will do. When canopies are made from the sun and rain for a summer residence, wood can be used.

At the first stage, a place for construction is selected, then marking is carried out on the site using cords. The soil is excavated along it to a depth of 15 centimeters, and nests for supports are arranged in the corners. A wooden blind area made of boards can be installed around the perimeter, a sand and gravel cushion is poured into the recess.

Frame assembly process

Pipes or beams are cut vertically to size, taking into account the length of the part buried in the ground. At the bottom of each nest, gravel and sand should be poured, which are well compacted. After installation, the supports must be leveled with a plumb line, after which they are concreted. From above, such elements can be connected with thin bars or pipes, which will form the upper harness.

The most common design for a roof is a semi-circular shape. In this case, metal arcs from a pipe can be used as a supporting frame. A sun canopy canopy can also be purchased and installed so you can have a picnic without the fear of mosquitoes attacking your family.

Roof shaping

When polycarbonate is selected for a canopy, it should be cut to size, a protective profile is put on the ends. Polycarbonate is fixed to the rafters with self-tapping screws, and drain strips should be installed at all corners. The sun canopy net will be the best solution for relaxing. It is strong and durable, it can have different sizes, for example 6 x 9 m, 3 x 18 m, 6 x 6 m.

A sun canopy for the beach, simple in design, will be appreciated by many vacationers. Unlike an umbrella, it creates a lot of shade; costs less than an umbrella, as it is made from improvised materials; The design itself is lightweight and collapsible, making it easy to fit in a hiking backpack.

materials

To make a canopy from the sun with your own hands, prepare:

  • hand drill;
  • rubber mallet;
  • inch PVC pipe (4 pcs. 90 cm and 4 pcs. 60 cm each);
  • inch PVC adapter - 8 pcs.;
  • inch PVC couplings - 4 pcs.;
  • plugs - 8 pcs.;
  • 0.5 inch bolts and hex nuts for them - 4 pcs.;
  • washers (2 pcs. for each bolt);
  • paracord;
  • tarpaulin;
  • tent pegs.

Step 1. Modify the four caps. Drill a hole for a bolt in each of them. Insert the bolt, washers and nut according to the diagram shown in the photo. Tighten the bolt firmly.

Step 2. Place the resulting plugs on two long PVC pipes and two shorter ones. To make them sit down thoroughly hammer them with a rubber mallet.

Step 3. Attach PVC adapters to the ends of the same pipes on the other side. For strength, walk along them with a rubberized hammer.

Step 4. On one end of the remaining four pipes, string plugs without bolts. On the second - adapters.

Step 5. So you get the support structures for the awning. With the help of a coupling, these parts are converted into two high sticks for the front of the canopy and two small ones for the back. Holes must be drilled in the upper part of the assembled parts. Through them you will pass the paracord when assembling the structure on the beach.

Step 6. To assemble the canopy, you need to spread a tarp or prepared fabric at the installation site.

Step 7. Pass the paracord through the corners of the tarp, pulling it out to the sides.

Step 8. Tie the ends of the rope to the stakes and drive them in at an angle to the canvas cover.

Step 9. In one of the corners of the front of the canopy, install a long pipe, obliquely - a short one. Adjust the tension of the tarpaulin with the string through the holes in the top of the pipes and through the bolt.

Step 10. Install two more tubes and re-adjust the paracord. The bolts should pass through the cutouts in the tarpaulin, increasing its tension. Secure the resulting fastening with another nut so that the canvas cover does not fly off when the wind gusts.

Today you can buy tourist tents a variety of shapes and sizes, but you can sew yourself. And the point is not that it will turn out half as cheap, but that you can sew an awning according to your requirements and do exactly as you need. Well, I just like to do everything myself, because the process itself is interesting. And today we will talk about how to sew a camping tent with your own hands.

The first thing is to find the right fabric. In smaller cities, this can be a serious problem. You don't often find tourist fabrics in stores. I had a hard time finding the green one, as I was told "tent fabric" without a name. Most likely it was Oxford. The price is 75 rubles. per linear meter was more than attractive and I bought 8 meters. Fabric width 1.5 meters. If you sew two pieces of 4 meters, just get awning 3x4 meters, which is what I need.

Please note that in stores often the fabric is not cut off, but torn off from the roll along the fibers. But the weaving of the threads in the cut does not correspond to the parallel-perpendicular axes of the roll. Thus, the torn edge of the fabric will not be perpendicular to the side of the cut. And, if you need the exact geometry of the finished product, take the fabric with a margin of at least half a meter and cut strictly at right angles.

I cut my piece of fabric in half. Along the edges there is a strip with punctures and deformation of the fabric, which remains during production. All this needs to be cut off, at least from those sides that will be sewn together in the middle of the tent. If the fabric has a front side, then fold the two pieces face to face. The bottom layer should protrude 5-6 millimeters from the top.

We wrap these 5 millimeters up and sew on a typewriter.

Then we bend the top layer towards the seam, as if unfolding the awning. And we sew so that the line goes along the edge of the wrapped strip, retreating from it 2-3 mm. For convenience, you can turn the awning over and sew from the wrong side.

The seam must be treated with some kind of impregnation so that it does not let water through. There are different recipes for self-breeding, or you can use store-bought products.

Now you need to process the perimeter of the tent. We turn the fabric from the front side to the wrong side by 5 millimeters, then we sew it again in the same way.

To make it easier and faster to install an awning, I decided to sew loops around the perimeter. I don't like eyelets in this regard. They tear out over time with a good load. The hinge points need to be reinforced. To do this, I cut out 6x6 cm squares from dense leatherette and sewed them into place under the loops.

Then he cut the same pieces of tape, which hemmed trousers, bent them and ironed them a little to fix the shape. It remains to sew the loops on the squares around the perimeter of the tent.

Here, in general, that's all. The tent is ready and you can test it in the next trip.

The awning turned out to be about 1.4 kg. weight, which is quite comparable with some store models. Spent 600 rubles. with little (2015). On time - several hours of cutting and sewing. The result, I think, is very good, except that I would like to make the weight a little less.

An awning with such an arrangement of loops can be easily installed

How to make a beach awning canopy with your own hands:

Summer, the beach, it's wonderful.

We take a wife, a child, you can grab a dog and a ball. We collect a picnic basket, a bedspread, sunblock and all sorts of necessary things in addition, but here's the problem - it's up to 40 degrees outside the window and you won't sunbathe for a long time under the open sun. The thought comes of some kind of covering, namely an umbrella or a canopy, an awning.

There is no umbrella, shops are far away.

Let's then learn how to make a canopy from the sun with our own hands.

What do we need for this?

1. I recommend to run through the bottom of the barrel in the house, garage and find in the pantry or in the attic, let's say linen linen hidden by the hostess for her hand-made pieces, or an old (not quite old, clean) sheet to create an awning. Such a piece of fabric will be quite enough.

2. We need sticks, supports to keep the awning on weight. We go down to the garage or stomp on the balcony,

usually at the owner if you look you can find everything.

We need 3 almost identical wooden or aluminum (light) supports to create a frame. 110-150cm 2 pieces. and one up to 200-220cm. thickness 25-35mm.

3. Twine, rope, for quickdraws. Cut into 4 pieces up to 1.5 meters in size

4. Pegs from an old tent, pegs cut independently from wooden bars 40-45 cm long are also suitable. at the ends of which you can drill holes for knitting a rope, or screw in self-tapping screws, leaving them unscrewed.

5. two nails 60-80mm.

P.S. Our awning assumes a one-time or non-repeated use, since our creation is done in a hurry while the spouse completes the leisure basket or hiking bag for 100 liters) and cannot have build quality.

Now the process itself:

On the two sticks that we found, or rather on their ends, we hammer in up to half the length of the carnation.

(one side only)

You are a man - Do you have a drill? Let's hope there is.

We take the remaining stick (support) and at its ends, stepping back from the edge of 4-10 cm, we drill a hole exceeding the diameter of the nail by about 10-20%. Congratulations The frame is almost ready.

If you have aluminum tubes, tape the carnations with the tip up half the length.

Roll harder. And with drilling the same procedure.

Now let's take a look at the awning:

The width of the fabric should be less than the width of the holes on the support we drilled. You can either cut off the excess or simply tuck it in place.

The length of the sheet is usually 200-220cm. We hope for the last option.

Now take a knife, scissors and make holes in the corners of our canopy awning and thread the pre-prepared ropes found in these holes 4 pcs, tie tightly into knots. (we attach the ends of our ropes to the awning) The awning is ready.

All we need now is to collect what we have made and apply on the beach.

It is necessary to dig on the shore two racks with nails with their ends up at a distance of holes drilled in the bearing crossbar for a canopy, insert this crossbar with holes into the nails. We hang our awning on the crossbar in width, align the hanging edges in the center, pull the awning together with our wife to an acceptable light stretch and, without forgetting the hammer at home in advance, we hammer in the prepared pegs for knitting an awning to them.

Have a nice holiday. Tentex.
