Drawings on the theme of simple rules against AIDS. World AIDS Day

AIDS is a huge threat to humanity. This is the trouble of the coming century, which is still difficult to fight and impossible to defeat. The HIV epidemic is taking the lives of young people, children and the elderly. But everyone wants to live. Scientists around the world are trying to study a new disease and find a cure for it. Doctors are looking for new approaches to treat the disease. World AIDS Day is dedicated to the "plague of the 21st century" caused by the spread of HIV infection. AIDS has already killed over 25 million people between 1981 and 2007, and about 33.2 million people worldwide are living with HIV. And yet today there is hope to talk about the end of this epidemic. Now 6.6 million people are living on drugs to slow the spread of AIDS, but too many people are still suffering. Studies have shown that early detection and treatment can reduce the number of new cases by 60%. This is the tipping point that many have tried so hard to reach.

December is a month of festive bustle and New Year's mood... But today I will move away from the New Year theme a little, and will raise a difficult but important topic, how to tell children about AIDS.

Every year on December 1st we celebrate World AIDS Day. Of course, this is a very important topic, necessary. We parents are responsible for the health of our children, for their morality and timely awareness. But this topic is also difficult. How to explain to a child such complex and terrible diseases as AIDS. And what is HIV? And why are they scary? And most importantly, how to protect yourself from them?

My son at school, like everyone else, has class hours. But, they are not led by a teacher. She takes five people from the list, gives them a topic and they get ready, come and tell the class. So, Alyosha got the theme "World AIDS Day". Naturally, in the 3rd grade, this is more like homework for parents.

After reading the topic, I suddenly realized that I didn’t know at all how to tell my son about this, so that it was clear, so that there were no unnecessary questions for today, and so that when he came to school he could retell all this to his classmates ... Interesting, accessible, understandable...

I turned to the Internet, and alas, I did not find any clues. Class hours and lectures on this topic can be found, but only for children from the 7th grade. My child is only 9 years old and these materials clearly did not fit.

My own blog came to the rescue... The word "virus" reminded me of . And... this is how the continuation of the story about the country of Bolezland was born and the decision, how to tell children about AIDS. Here is my long introduction...

I hope that the fairy tale will also help some of you to tell and warn your child. This is a fairy tale lecture, which should carry important knowledge. It involves the disease of drug addiction. I do not recommend the fairy tale for reading to children under 7 years old.

Fairy tale-lecture "HIV and its dream"

Microbes, bacteria and viruses live in the distant gloomy land of Diseaseland. Each of them has his own house, his own possessions. But they all dream of moving into the human body and defeating human health and its assistants - the defenders of lymphocytes and good bacteria.

At the very edge of Bolezland in a high castle lived the most powerful and terrible of all viruses - HIV - the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Even the most terrible and severe viruses were afraid of him. After all, he had a mysterious power. HIV cannot be defeated. But he is able to defeat the human immune system.

And although other viruses and microbes could easily pass from one person to another during sneezing, coughing, personal items, and could infect many more people this way. HIV was worse. After all, it was he who killed the brave lymphocytes, which together fight with all microbes and actively defeat them. Everyone except HIV.

That's why they wanted to be friends with him. After all, if he let them into one organism with him, even the most frail microbe could completely enslave a person. Why? Because after HIV neutralizes the defenders of the human body - lymphocytes, human blood becomes defenseless against any viruses and microbes.

One day, HIV sat in his tall tower and looked out through his magic binoculars for a body suitable for his life. For the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, the most difficult thing is to get into the body. After all, he needs to penetrate immediately into the blood, through wounds and injections.

And in the lens of HIV I saw a Man. He liked him. After all, he was lying somewhere under the fence, in torn clothes, with an empty look and, most importantly, with a syringe in his hands! Here it is - the favorite and easiest way for HIV to enter - the drug addict's needle.

HIV sat in his carriage and rushed to his goal at maximum speed. It was followed by a string of viruses and microbes. HIV got to the Man under the fence. And then another one came up to him. HIV rejoiced! Two organisms will immediately fall into his tenacious embrace.

HIV has already imagined how it will sit on the edge of the needle and the Man himself will let it into his blood. He closed his eyes and happily began to draw pictures for himself of how these daredevils, lymphocytes, who are afraid of all the inhabitants of Bolezland, are running away from him, and he catches up with them all and pierces them with his small sharp sword. He is so small, defeats them all and dominates the human body. As long as he is comfortable, he will sit and enjoy his power, and when he gets bored, he will open the door to a cold or flu, or a tuberculosis bacillus, and then ...

But here the dreams of HIV were interrupted. The needle, on which he had already climbed, was picked up by the approaching Man, after putting gloves on his hands and throwing it into the nearest garbage container. And the Man, lying under the fence, was carefully picked up and put into a car with a red cross and the inscription "Ambulance" and taken away.

When HIV finally got out to the surface of the container a few weeks later, he saw a Human passing by, the very one in whom he wanted to settle, but completely changed. He had a cheerful gait, a healthy complexion and, most importantly, a sparkle in his eyes and a smile on his lips! For HIV, this is the worst. “And this one is gone,” Virus sighed sadly and went to his home.

And that same Man went to school, where he shared his story with the children, and told them the most important thing to do in order not to let HIV into your body and not get AIDS:

  1. Never touch syringes and needles found on the street.
  2. Never be tempted to try drugs.
  3. Be careful not to get foreign blood on the skin, especially if it is damaged.
  4. If you are receiving medical treatment, remember that all needles and syringes must be disposable!
  5. And one more piece of advice: help your neighbors!

I wish health to you and your children!
