Sliding wardrobe 2200 width filling. The dimensions of the shelves in the closet. Calculation for a closed profile handle

Today I propose to take a break from the beautiful interiors for a while and talk about the essentials! Clutter can ruin the atmosphere of even the most stylish interior, so besides the exterior, you should also think about the functional component. In this article, we will talk about filling the closet and organizing the storage of things.

Of course, you can leave the wardrobe in its original form: simple shelves + clothes rail, but for any wardrobe there are a huge number of modules and combinations that will make your life easier and putting things in order in the closet more pleasant. Of course, properly planned filling of the closet will require some material investments from you, but saving hours spent in confusion in front of open closet doors trying to dig out this or that thing is priceless!

Each cabinet can be visually divided into 3 parts: mezzanine, main part and lower part.

- Rarely used and seasonal items, bags and suitcases, boxes of shoes are stored upstairs.

– The eye-level main compartment houses hanger bars, as well as shelves for everyday wear and frequently used accessories.

- Shoes are usually stored at the lower level - in shoe cabinets, boxes or on shelves.

The functional content of the cabinet may include:

Bars and pantographs. The bar can be for short clothes (blouses, jackets, skirts) and for long clothes (coats, raincoats, dresses). If the width of the closet allows, be sure to arrange two separate rods for these needs in order to use the free space under blouses and skirts to good use for placing shelves and drawers with things. For high cabinets, you can use a pantograph - a modified bar that has a special mechanism for descending to a level convenient for you.

Shelves (stationary and sliding). Their depth depends on the depth of the cabinet (from 45 to 90 cm), and the height should be at least 30-40 cm. Of course, stationary shelves are the easiest and most economical option. However, if you have a deep closet, then pull-out shelves will make it much easier to find the right thing and clean the closet.

Drawers. Indispensable for underwear, socks, belts, ties and jewelry. Be sure to complement the drawers with dividers for small items and accessories.

Drawer baskets. Equipped with a roller mechanism and suitable for storing items that do not require ironing (sportswear, woolen, home clothes, towels, etc.). They can be plastic or mesh metal.

Pull-out trouser hangers. This is a very handy item! Must be in a well-planned closet.

Shoe shelves. Usually installed at the bottom of the cabinet. They can be inclined or retractable, as well as in the form of blocks for each shoe - to maintain shape.

– Hangers for ties, scarves, belts.

Mounts for boards, irons, dryers, vacuum cleaners- in bulky wardrobes you can hide not only clothes, but also many household items that make life easier for us, but have an unsightly appearance.

Tips for organizing the interior space of the closet:

What should be cabinet depth?

This is one of the most pressing issues, because you want to save space and not lose convenience. The standard depth is 60 cm - this is the optimal size, suitable for the location of hangers with both light and bulky clothes. If space permits, plan a depth of 90 cm - winter items (fur coats, down jackets, etc.) will comfortably fit in the closet, and behind the bar with light items you can place small shelves for rarely used and seasonal items).

Be careful with the depth of 45 cm! A miniature wardrobe sounds tempting, however, with a depth of up to 50 cm, the hangers will be located not on the longitudinal, but on the end (transverse) bars (stationary or retractable). Such bars are considered uncomfortable by the vast majority of people, and much less clothes will fit on them. The longitudinal bar is installed at a width of 50 cm, but even in this case it will be convenient to store only light, non-voluminous clothes in the closet.

If you order a closet, plan a depth not of 60 cm, but at least 65 cm. The sliding door mechanism takes up to 10 cm from the internal filling.

- Correlate the number of vertical compartments inside the closet with the number of doors. Each door should have its own compartment so that you immediately understand which door you need to open in order to get to the right thing.

– The compartment for the bar with hangers is usually made wider than the compartment with shelves: for example, the compartment with hanging clothes is 90 cm, the compartment with shelves is 50 cm wide.

- On the mezzanine (top shelf) often put bulky items (voluminous boxes, bags and suitcases). Plan under it at least 45-50 cm of cabinet height.

- If the width of the shelf in the closet is more than 80-90 cm, provide a partition under it so that the shelf does not bend under the weight of things. Under a bar with a length of more than 100-120 cm, it is also desirable to provide a support - a vertical bar, which is attached to a horizontal bar with special fasteners.

– Always consider swing door hinges and door frames in wardrobes when placing drawers. A common annoying mistake that causes drawers and baskets to not slide out. In addition, with hinged doors, the door on the hinge side can block the opening by a couple of centimeters, which again can prevent drawers and shelves from sliding out.

Always label boxes with shoes, bags, seasonal items so that you don’t have to turn the whole wardrobe over to look for the things you need. An unusual idea for storing things: we take a picture of each pair of shoes and bag, print the image and stick it on the box. Yes, this project will take time, but what a saving of nerves at the time of preparation for an important event!

Here it is - the perfect order: each drawer and basket is signed, and images of ready-made sets from existing clothes are fixed on the closet door. It is unlikely that the owner of this wardrobe thinks for a long time about what to wear.

I hope these tips will help you correctly plan the filling of the closet, and harmony and perfect order will always reign in your wardrobe!

In our dwellings we have to solve a difficult task - it is necessary to place a lot of things in a relatively small area. For this reason, we try to use every centimeter of the area to the maximum. A striking example of this is the use of sliding doors in furniture instead of swing doors. Another example is filling the wardrobe. Properly selected, it allows you to use the entire available volume, and not just the area.

Organization of the internal space of the wardrobe

In order to properly organize the internal space of the closet, it would be nice to know what can be put there in general. Most often, the set consists of several shelves, a compartment for clothes hangers. There may also be drawers. These are the most common types of filling, but far from the only ones. There are also special hangers for trousers (trouser cases), skirts (skirt cases), holders for belts and ties, special shelves for shoes (shoe racks). Moreover, they can be stationary and retractable. They allow you to more compactly place clothes of a certain type and it is always in the allotted place.

All these devices are called wardrobe fittings or accessories, but the phrase “filling the wardrobe” is most often used. It more accurately reflects the essence - these are various devices for organizing the space inside.

Hangers and crossbars

Hanger rails can be placed parallel (1, 2, 4) or perpendicular (7) to cabinet doors. It is more convenient when the crossbar is parallel to the door - all the things that hang on it are visible. But in this case, the depth of the closet cannot be less than 60 cm - coat hangers with clothes take up just that much space.

If the crossbar is perpendicular to the door, the cabinet may be less deep - 40-45 cm. But in this case only the first thing is fully visible, all the rest are hidden behind it. Not very comfortable. You can solve the problem by installing a retractable system. In this case, it will be much more convenient to use.

It is often more convenient to place compartments for clothes on a hanger at the top of the cabinet, leaving the bottom for shelves and drawers. In this case, they put not ordinary crossbars, but movable ones. This device for filling the wardrobe is called "pantographs".

The pantograph is a hanger bar that can be lowered

There are different sizes of pantographs, but if you want to equip them with a ready-made, and not individually made option, look at the dimensions in advance and “adjust” the width of the compartment for them. After all, you still need to leave a place for attaching the mechanism.

Shelves and drawers

Filling a wardrobe is rarely complete without shelves and drawers. Shelves from the closet are made of different depths and heights - it all depends on what you plan to put on them, but the minimum shelf height is 30 cm. You can put several sweaters and T-shirts on it.

Most often, shelves are made of laminated fiberboard, but mesh can be installed. They take up very little space (in terms of thickness), which is also a plus if there are problems with dimensions. The second positive point is that if the mesh shelves are high, you can see from below what lies there (at least partially). Their disadvantage is the fixed dimensions that will have to be taken into account when planning. Although, a small error can be corrected by the planks on which these shelves can be laid.

Drawers can also be made of or mesh. The advantages and disadvantages are the same. In some cases, mesh boxes are called baskets. Lightweight and comfortable, they do not accumulate dust.

Devices for compact placement of things

Most often there is not enough space in the closet. Even if they are of decent size. Therefore, they try to develop the filling of the closet in such a way that the available volumes are used rationally. For example, instead of traditional shelves for shoes (mesh or chipboard), you can put a retractable shoe rack. They perfectly accommodate low shoes - shoes, sandals, boots.

Due to the fact that the shoes fit obliquely, it is better seen. If you use mesh shelves for shoes, due to the fact that the heels "fall through", space is significantly saved.

Many problems arise with the storage of trousers, jeans. For this type of clothing, there is also a special device, which is often called a "trouser". These are retractable straps on which double-folded trousers hang.

Usually they are placed under the shelves at the level of the belt, it is possible at the level of the shoulders. Above is not worth it - it's inconvenient. In the upper part of the closet, it is better to place a pantograph or shelves for rarely used items.

Also in the filling for wardrobes there is a device for storing ties and belts. Scarves, mufflers, etc. can be stored on the same devices. This hanger is similar to a trouser rack, only it is smaller.

They are more convenient to place on the side in the clothing section. They are about 15-20 cm wide, so they won’t take up much space. Another option for placing such things is a drawer, divided by partitions into small squares.

What else is worth saying about the filling for wardrobes? At firms that make furniture, all (or almost all) sliding systems are solid. Each device also increases the cost of installation. If you have at least a little skill in handling a drill and (or a screwdriver), you can mount it yourself by purchasing these devices from a company. Get a little cheaper. You can save more if you buy them through online stores or straight from China.

These are all devices that are used when filling wardrobes. The main thing is to place them correctly, determine the dimensions of sections and doors.

Internal planning: technical points

To develop the internal structure of the wardrobe, you need to decide on the number of clothes of various types that you plan to place in this furniture. For certain volumes of different types of clothing, the filling of the wardrobe is being developed. It will greatly depend on the location of the built-in furniture. For example, if the closet is in the hallway, you need to allocate space for outerwear. Since coats and raincoats are long, this compartment should also have a large height - 130-150 cm. You will also need to allocate space for storing hats / gloves / scarves.

Such departments, probably, will not be in the bedroom. But here a TV can be built in (there are also such wardrobes), which in the corridor will be absolutely useless. In general, think carefully about what you are going to store in each specific closet, measure the dimensions of large items, add at least 10 cm of freedom of action and apply these dimensions to the plan.

When determining the height and width of the shelves, do not forget to subtract the thickness of the chipboard if the furniture is assembled from this material. It just seems that 18 mm is not much. If there are, for example, five shelves, then the material will take almost 10 cm in height.

When determining the size and number of doors, dividing the wardrobe into sections, pay special attention to sections that have sliding systems. The fact is that the doors are not exactly 1/2 or 1/3 of the width of the cabinet, but a little more. Specifically, more than twice the width of the profile. That is, if you have three doors in a wardrobe 180 cm wide, then by opening one of them, you will get less free space than 60 cm.

Therefore, the width of the drawers (and the sections in which they are built) should be slightly less than the width of your doors.

And the second point concerns the depth of the cabinet. If a pantograph or hanger holder with clothes is installed, the minimum width is 60 cm. When installing a retractable hanger hanger, 45 cm is enough. But note that the retractable design itself should be no more than 40 cm in length - you still need room for freedom of movement doors.

Popular wardrobe filling options

As you understand, there can be a lot of options here, but there are several basic configurations that can be modified to suit your own desires.

Which departments should be

Conventionally, the entire height of the wardrobe can be divided into three zones: lower, middle, upper. Shoes, some types of household appliances (vacuum cleaners, for example) are usually placed in the lower zone. At the top, high mezzanine shelves are most often made, which are used to store things that are rarely used. There you can also remove out-of-season items.

The entire middle part is usually occupied by shelves, drawers, departments for hangers. It is with their placement that you usually have to tinker. To make everything convenient for all family members.

How to organize a small closet inside

Any filling of a sliding wardrobe in the vast majority of cases has a certain number of shelves and departments for hangers. This is the easiest and most economical option. Usually they are two-door - the recommended width of the door leaf is no more than a meter, which is observed in this case. The smallest sliding wardrobe is just over a meter wide. They are usually installed in the corridors of small apartments. Two doors are also made if the length is slightly longer - up to 180 cm.

There will not be much variety here, but it is quite possible to install a couple of boxes if necessary. Here, retractable devices for compact placement will be very useful. A trouser will definitely be needed.

Medium sizes

If the width of the wardrobe is 180 cm or a little more - about 2 meters, most often it is divided into three sections. These models are also called three-door, since most often the number of sections coincides with the number of doors. With a width of 2 meters, each of the sections is obtained in a width of about 60 cm (including partitions). This is a fairly convenient format - not too wide and not narrow, with such a length of the shelves there will be no problems with chipboard sagging even if its thickness is 14 mm.

By increasing the length of the cabinet to 270 cm, it can still be three-door - the width of the door is still less than a meter. But at a high height, such doors are already quite massive and require good fittings (guides and wheels must be of good quality so that the sliding is smooth). So already with a width of more than 240 cm, 4 doors can be planned. In this case, there can be three sections. Just to access each of them you have to move two doors.

Filling wardrobe medium length

The first and third sketches consist only of shelves and compartments for clothes on hangers. The place is distributed differently, but there are a lot of shelves. All others have added drawers and/or slatted baskets.

Drawers can be located at the very bottom. Leaning on the lower part, they give the entire structure increased rigidity. But the lower drawers are not very convenient to use - you have to bend low. Therefore, more often they are raised higher so that they are approximately at a level above the middle of the thigh or at the level of the belt. But in this case, a reinforced jumper under the bottom drawer is necessary - to give greater rigidity to the entire structure.

Pay attention to the mezzanine - the upper compartments. In the above options, they have the same size as the sections, but this is not necessary. If necessary, one mezzanine can be located above the two sections. It is only important to correctly calculate the thickness of the material for the shelf so that it does not bend.

Sliding wardrobe for 3 meters

With a sliding wardrobe length of 3 meters, 4 sections are made, and there may be more doors. There is more space, but there is not much difference in the filling. Just more of the same shelves, pantographs and drawers / baskets. There can be many combinations. Choose the option that suits you the most, but you can also change it - according to your needs and tastes.

A few more options for the internal filling of large cabinets in the photo gallery. There are some interesting ideas about organizing storage on open shelves - in baskets or plastic boxes. This, by the way, is a budget replacement for drawers, as well as a way to modernize the filling of a sliding wardrobe without problems and special costs. If you decide that there are few drawers and a lot of shelves, it is not necessary to order boxes and suffer with their installation. A good replacement is boxes or baskets of the right size.

There is even a compartment for storing household chemicals - in plastic trays mounted on the wall. Narrow drawers and wide baskets are also an interesting option.

Interior arrangement of the corner wardrobe

To make the corner cabinet convenient to use, it is necessary to ensure the availability of things located in the corner. The easiest way to do this is with clothes hangers. There are several options. The easiest to implement is to install two clothes bars without a partition between the sections. In this case, the width of the cabinet on both walls should be the same, and the rack to which the crossbars are attached adds the missing rigidity.

The second option is that one part of the closet has a smaller depth and “behind the wall” it will be possible to place output clothes. It is not used very often.

And another way is to install a spinning rack in the corner. They can be found in stores specializing in commercial equipment.

In the corner is a revolving bar. Quite convenient

Only choose a model with a stand - it will support the shelves from above, giving rigidity and stability. The rest of the filling of the closet is not much different.

Without a doubt, the basis of any furniture project, including functionality, should be taken to which aesthetic and economic components should be applied. For normal functioning, it is very important for a person that all pieces of furniture meet generally accepted standards (or at least approach them). These standards were formed in the last century and have changed (mainly due to the improvement of fittings and) to date not significantly. Thus, we will try to derive functional elements and sizes that are convenient for a person to use them in everyday life.

All dimensions in height are taken, as a rule, based on the average height of a person ( rice. one) . Width and depth dimensions are calculated according to the average size of things for which it is actually designed (entrance hall, wall, bookcase, chest of drawers, etc.).

picture 1

  • The compartment for storing hats should be at least 170 mm, and the depth should be at least 240 mm (although the height will have to be increased to store high hats).

figure 3

  • The height distance between the shelves or between the shelf and the bounding elements of the bed linen storage compartment should be between 280-400 mm. For width and depth, the optimal dimensions of the shelves are 420 × 460 mm. But it is much more profitable for this purpose to use drawers or drawers of the appropriate size. ( rice. 3)
  • For another type of linen, everything is the same, with the difference that the height between the shelves can be made smaller - in the range of 100–280 mm, and the width in the range of 300–420 mm.,
  • The compartment of a cabinet or library for storing books is calculated based on the size of books, which is 220 or 320 mm, respectively, the height between the shelves should be in the range from 240 to 340 mm, with a depth of 140 - 440 mm. To store books and documents in a horizontal position, the distance between the shelves must be at least 180 mm.
  • The dimensions of drawers, thanks to modern fittings (namely, ball-bearing telescopic guides and high-tech extension mechanisms) can be up to 900 mm wide and up to 750 mm deep. True, this is true mainly for chests of drawers, in the closet the recommended width is 260–420 mm, depth - 260–550 mm, height - 75–300 mm. The distance from the floor to the top edge of the drawer front must not exceed 1250 mm.
  • To store shoes in horizontal and inclined positions, the depth of the shelf or grid must be at least 320 mm. The height of the compartment for boots, shoes and low shoes is at least 150 mm, for boots - at least 320 mm. The minimum width is 250 mm.

In order not to substitute a stool every time you need to get a blouse, and not to bend down for small things on the lowest shelf, plan your closet according to your needs and wishes. We tell you how to calculate the optimal dimensions of the closet, the width of the niches and the height of the compartments for trousers and dresses.

1. Dimensions of the wardrobe

The wardrobe can be of different widths, heights and depths. To accommodate two-door models, you will need a niche with a width of 100 to 200 cm, three-door - from 150 to 300 cm, four-door - from 200 to 400 cm. The minimum width is 100 cm, since compartment doors less than 50 cm are unstable.

The standard cabinet depth is 60 cm. Please note that 10 cm will go to the sliding system - the usable area will be only 50 cm. For cabinets less than 40 cm there is a special pull-out system for clothes - keep in mind that things will fit much less.

2. Optimum boom height

The correct arrangement of rails and shelves is the key to convenient use of a closet or dressing room. To store short items, use 2 bars above each other - the optimal distance between them is 80-100 cm. It is better to hang one bar for coats or long dresses at a height of 170-190 cm from the floor, if higher - you will need a special device for removing clothes. The trouser compartment should be 120–130 cm high.

3. Height of drawers and shelves

Underwear is most conveniently stored in drawers at a level of 1 m from the floor. Make drawers and baskets at a height of no higher than 120 cm - otherwise it will be inconvenient to use them. The optimal opening between the shelves is 35–40 cm high. Keep in mind that shoe racks, neckties, and trouser racks usually hold fewer things than ordinary shelves. For example, shoes can be arranged on them in 2 rows or in boxes.

4. Width of shelves and niches

On the open shelves you can store clothes, linens, books and utensils. For clothes, you can use long shelves (80–90 cm) - a partition must be provided under them, otherwise they will bend under the weight of the clothes. For heavy books and dishes, the shelf length should not exceed 80 cm. The most convenient shelf width is 50–60 cm: you will get two neat stacks of things.

Sliding wardrobe design standards

The standards for designing sliding wardrobes are not a dogma and each designer is free to choose which compartment door systems, drawer mechanisms and various accessories to fill modern cabinets should be used, but the importance of the main dimensions and bindings must be taken into account. In the process of development of our civilization, generally accepted standards are born that determine the most comfortable dimensions and dimensions of depth, height in the designed sliding wardrobes.

According to the presented schemes, we will try to understand the details.

In the "Front View" diagram, the cells are numbered, the dimensions of which we will analyze below:

In cell No. 1, the height of the niche is 1700mm. - this height is necessary for long coats, fur coats, the floors of which are almost below the knees, but we, people are all of different heights and therefore this size is chosen for clothes whose owners are taller than 1.8 m. For people whose height is between 1.6-1.7m. the niche can be reduced to a size of 1500-1600mm.
The next cell No. 2 has a height of 1100mm. - in such a niche you can place short jackets, suits, trousers. If the height of a person is more than 1.8 m. - the niche should be increased to a size of 1200-1300mm.
In niche No. 3 we have a height of 900mm. - this is the smallest and is designed for short shirts, blouses, t-shirts. It can also be used for children's clothing.
Niche height No. 4 and No. 5 are equal to 1000 mm. - this is the most acceptable size for ordinary shirts, blouses.

This diagram shows the recommended dimensions and must take into account the tolerances that are needed for the space above the bar to hook the hook, and for the space below so that the clothing floors do not touch the shelf below.
To correctly determine the height of the niche, you should measure the clothes worn on the hanger and add 120 - 150mm.

The next dimension is the width of the niche. In the "Front View" sketch, the clothes are parallel to the doors and the minimum width should be 540mm, and in the case of wide-brimmed outerwear, 600mm should be designed.

In the "Side View" diagram, the clothes are located across the wardrobe and we can determine two main sizes, the depths of which must be adhered to.

The depth of niches No. 1 and No. 2 should be at least 550 mm. in a "clean" form, while the floors of the clothes will touch the doors, and for outerwear it is desirable to have a depth of 600mm.
Another size number 3 - 100mm. This dimension is required for the installation of sliding compartment doors. Practice shows that most compartment door systems fit into this size.

We design a chest of drawers in a wardrobe

In the case of designing a chest of drawers in a closet, it is necessary to take into account the height so that it is comfortable to use, as for a conventional chest of drawers, the height is approximately 1000 mm. is the most appropriate and convenient.

The depth of the chest of drawers can only be designed taking into account the handles.
If the handles are mortise, which do not protrude beyond the front panel, then the depth of the chest of drawers should be minus 100mm. from the total size of the wardrobe. In the case of overhead handles, the depth of the handle should be taken into account, as shown in the diagram - this is a minimum of 25mm. on a standard handle.
