Clean your bathtub at home. How to clean the bath from plaque with the help of improvised means How to wash yellow plaque in the bathroom

The fact that you and I will have to come to terms with is that any bath turns yellow. It doesn’t matter if it was bought at a company store or at a nearby supermarket at a discount, made in Germany or Russia, is steel or acrylic - plaque always appears. When exactly this happens depends on several factors. We will not dwell on them, but rather we will tell you why plaque appears and how to deal with it.

They say that the bathroom is the face of any housewife. Due to poor water quality and lack of proper maintenance, even the newest swimming place becomes unsightly in a relatively short time.

It should be understood that yellow spots are not just plaque. If you begin to suffer from ailments and headaches, and a rash appears on your body regularly, the reason may be in a dirty bathroom. After all, as you know, a modest bathroom area, high humidity and insufficient air circulation provoke the appearance of mold.

So, what makes the bath turn yellow? Let's find out the main reasons. This will help to understand how to deal with this or that pollution.

  • Spots and smudges that have a characteristic yellow color.

Tap water often contains various impurities. It can be not only chlorine, but also metal salts.

  • Rust.

If your house has a very old plumbing, and the water contains a lot of iron, sooner or later the bath will begin to become covered with a layer of rust.

  • Lime scale.

It happens that tap water contains a lot of calcium and magnesium salts. Because of this, a characteristic plaque appears.

Rules for the care of a white bathroom

Caring for the font is, in principle, easy. The main thing is to do it on time, not to use prohibited means. We will tell about them now.

The first rule is: if you want to clean a white tub, put the brush away. It applies to brushes with hard metal bristles. Small cracks appear on the surface of the bath, which will eventually lead to larger cracks.

Also, we do not recommend buying cleaning compounds that contain strong acids. This is especially true for acrylic products that are afraid of acid. It is undesirable to soak laundry with washing powder. Its components change the surface beyond recognition. This also applies to temperature changes - over time, the coating begins to collapse.

Now you know what not to do every time you are going to wash the bath. General rules for the care of the bathroom differ depending on the material. Regular, timely care has been and remains the key to a snow-white bath. Every time after taking a bath, do not be too lazy to wash the surface with warm water. It will not be superfluous to wipe it dry with a soft cloth.

As for cleaning products, they should be applied as they get dirty. If it is enamel, it is cleaned once every 7 days, acrylic can be wiped once every two weeks. It is enough to apply a special agent, then rinse it off and wipe the surface.

How to clean the bath from yellow plaque at home?

We return to the character of the yellow coating. If it is caused by impurities of metal salts or chlorine, plaque is removed with hydrochloric acid. Not concentrated, of course, but highly diluted in water. Rust stains are removed with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and ammonia in a 2:1 ratio. You wipe the rusty places, then rinse them with water.

If the stains are old and do not want to be washed off, try vinegar with water and a little salt. Wipe the stains with the mixture, wash them off with water.

Limescale is removed with either turpentine or paint thinner. Dampen the sponge and then wipe the dirty area with it. Remember to wash off the residue with water and powder.

Cleaning of steel baths

A steel bath is usually covered with enamel, for which any powder is fatal. It is also not recommended to use a metal brush or fiberglass sponge. They leave a lot of scratches behind.

Another "iron" rule for - no cleaners that contain acids (hydrochloric, oxalic), alkalis and formaldehydes. Wipe the enamel several times - and it will collapse so much that it will be extremely difficult to solve the problem. The question arises: how, in this case, to clean the steel bath so that the enamel remains safe and sound. Answer: use modern chemistry. Fortunately, her choice on the market is simply huge. Here you will find pastes, various creams, and even washing liquids. However, it is advisable to apply them only to old stains that do not want to be washed in more gentle ways.

Removing yellow stains from acrylic and cast iron bathtubs

Do you know which bath is considered the most delicate and requires the most careful handling? This is a font made of acrylic. But you can find an approach to such a bathing place! They love to be groomed regularly. This means that after each bath or even shower, you need to rinse it with warm water and wipe it with a dry cloth.

Is it possible to clean such a bath not only quickly, but also qualitatively? There are proven products that really work: SanKlin, Triton. Not bad has proven itself "Panivanna". For other cleaning methods, try applying a small amount to an inconspicuous area before use. Wait 30 minutes and wash off. If there are no defects, the product is quite suitable for washing.

There are substances that are extremely dangerous for acrylic, which is delicate in all respects. These include gasoline and acetone, various solvents, ammonia and chlorine preparations, abrasive powders and pastes. All of them (some to a greater extent, some to a lesser extent) corrode acrylic.

What else do you need to know about acrylic? From time to time, such a bath needs disinfection. It is not difficult to make it - pour water, add 7% chlorine solution to it, leave for a couple of minutes. After that, it will be enough to rinse with water and wipe.

There is another category of bathtubs that are often covered with a yellow coating and rust. We are talking about cast-iron baths, which were incredibly popular in Soviet times. They are still preserved in many "Stalinka" and "Khrushchev". The owners of such baths are wondering: is it possible to clean such a bath at all?

They were made using completely different technologies, which are fundamentally different from everything that is practiced on the market today. The coating of such a bath contains zirconium salts. Their presence is the main reason why the top layer deteriorates so quickly and loses its appearance. Due to prolonged exposure to water, rust appears. That is why, to combat such damage, it is necessary to choose detergents very carefully and responsibly. They should not include chlorine and acids, as well as various abrasive substances.

Let's proceed from the situation, whether your cast-iron product was restored or not. If so, not all means will suit him. To prolong the life of such vessels, try to keep them dry. One careless blow - and a crack or chip is inevitable. After using such a bath, it will be enough to wipe it with a sponge with a small addition of laundry soap.

If the cast-iron bathtub has not been restored, you can be calm about the enamel surface. During production, such baths are fired at very high temperatures. After such "manipulations" they are not afraid of any damage. Ideal for cleaning a cast iron bath are products that include baking soda. For example, Pemolux.

Folk remedies for whitening at home

If you do not have a special tool for cleaning the bathtub, do not be upset. You can use substances that are in every home. They cope with pollution no worse than the "chemistry" from the store.

Here are the most popular cleaning options:

  • Food vinegar. Kills 95% of germs.
  • Mustard powder. Effectively removes dirt, well disinfects the surface.
  • Baking soda. Universal tool. Perfectly removes grease, eliminates unpleasant odors.
  • Home mix. It's easy enough to make at home. Designed for cleaning and effective bleaching of sanitary ware. Take baking soda and soda ash, mix them in equal proportions. The resulting mixture is applied to the surface and wiped. After 15-20 minutes, you can apply bleach, moisten with vinegar, wait half an hour. In the end, all this is washed off with water.

To combat rust on the bathroom, you can rub the stains with baking soda or even leave it for ten minutes. Vinegar, which is mixed with salt and heated, helps well. Is there a storm? You can mix it with vinegar and rub rust stains. Should help.

Among the folk remedies for combating limescale, ammonia has proven itself well. Dissolve ammonia in water, apply on the surface for ten minutes, rinse. Lemon juice can also help in this case.

The tips above are only for enamelled bathtubs and will not work on an acrylic surface. Moreover, they can damage it.

There is one simple but proven way. Take ordinary paper napkins and cover the surface with them. Before that, they need to be moistened in vinegar. We leave the napkins in the bathroom for 3-4 hours, then remove everything and wash it off. You will be surprised how dazzling white the bathing product will shine after this procedure.

Every housewife dreams of a snow-white home font. To keep it always in this state, it is necessary to clean the acrylic bath from yellowness and other contaminants. How to do it better? What means to use?

Consider preventive measures

If the installation of the structure is incorrectly performed, then liquid will remain near the drain hole, which will subsequently manifest itself in unsightly external defects: dirty stains, in a gray coating.

Water with harmful impurities, going through rusty pipes, constantly dripping faucets - all this will eventually lead to persistent yellow spots appearing on the surface of the bath.

Tip number 1. Observe the correct angle of inclination of the bath, install water purification filters and repair equipment on time.

Timely care of the water tank

What to do to achieve a flawless appearance? How to clean?

The recommendations are quite simple: take a soft sponge or cloth, on which to apply dishwashing liquid or shampoo residue, or a non-aggressive soap mixture. Wipe the surface thoroughly. Douse with warm water. Then use a microfiber cloth, which perfectly absorbs moisture and restores shine.

Tip number 2. Wash the bath immediately after use with a soft, clean cloth: cotton, flannel, felt. The agent used must be neutral to acrylic. Only then will care be effective.

What cleaning products should be avoided?

  1. From abrasive cleaners, since the solid particles included in these cleaners can lead to scratches on the cleaned surface;
  2. From hard brushes, sponges with a metal coating. As a result of working with them, the walls of the font are covered with small cracks, the material corrodes.
  3. From those containing chlorine (which is why the bottom of the tank often turns yellow, because some housewives think that it will be cleaner), acids, ammonia, acetone, gasoline. Interaction with these drugs will lead to darkening, dullness.

Tip number 3. Do not use powdered products, as they can violate the integrity of the coating, abandon harsh chemicals.

About vinegar, citric acid and soda (food)

In its natural form, these agents (especially the first two) are dangerous to use, as they will have a destructive effect in direct contact with the tank. Therefore, only their aqueous solutions are used.

You can clean the acrylic bowl with vinegar (9 percent) and soda, or replace the second component with salt. The main thing is to stir thoroughly so that no solid particles remain.

To prepare the mixture, you need to take a small bowl. Pour soda into it (half a pack) and stir with warm water until the consistency of sour cream so that there are no lumps left. Spread it on a damp surface. Leave for half an hour to an hour. Then pour citric acid (1-2 packs) into the same container, add boiling water in a ratio of 1:3. Stir and cool to room temperature. After putting on gloves, rub the entire mixture into problem areas with a soft sponge.

Citric acid can be replaced with vinegar (250 ml). After 15 minutes, rinse with running water and wipe dry.

Tip number 4. It turns out that improvised tools available in almost every home will help to remove yellowness from an acrylic bowl.

Professional protective equipment

The range of gels, pastes, sprays is quite wide. Detergent compositions specially designed for this are required. It is worth paying attention to some of the proven cleaners and detergents:

  • cif. Removes light dirt quickly
  • Team Pro. It fights with old stains, with unpleasant odors, helps to clear yellow stains.
  • Mister Chister. In a basis - the sparing structure. Takes good care of the water tank. Has an antibacterial effect, gives shine;
  • Acrylan. Creates a protective shell that prevents the appearance of dirty spots. Has disinfectant properties.

Tip number 5. Choose only proven formulations from well-known manufacturers. They must be safe for humans and acrylic. It is with their help that it is easiest to wash the bath from yellow plaque. Some tools directly indicate the plumbing fixtures for which they are intended. The method of application, acceptable doses are described. Do not forget to use rubber gloves and clean soft cloths, microfiber.

If you regularly take care of your home hot tub from the first day of purchase, then its service life will be long. In addition, the surface will be smooth and shiny.

Hard water, a broken faucet, and bath products can quickly make a bathtub dirty and unkempt. Soap or limescale is a breeding ground for the development of pathogenic bacteria that can harm human health. Sudden headaches, allergies, skin rashes - the dirty surface of the bath can be the cause of this phenomenon. Therefore, the place of hygiene and bathing of the whole family must be given special attention.

When choosing a plumbing cleaner, you need to focus on the type of dirt and what material the bath is made of. To whiten old yellow spots, you will have to use acids that can damage the enamel.

The surface of the bathtub must not be rubbed with hard metal brushes, especially if acid-based products are used for cleaning.

Don't forget to protect your hands. Even the mildest chemicals can cause severe allergic reactions and skin irritation. It is best to carry out cleaning manipulations with rubber gloves.

Many housewives, in order to clean the bath from yellow plaque, use the same products as for the toilet, but this is wrong. The reason is that toilet bowl cleaners contain harsh acids that can damage the enamel. It is also worth abandoning abrasive powders.

It is necessary to wipe it dry after each use of the bath. Such a simple manipulation will help to eliminate the appearance of rust.

Bathtub cleaning at home

The stores offer a fairly large selection of cleaning products for bathtubs. They act quickly and give good results. However, they contain active chemicals that are harmful to health.

You can use folk remedies - prepare a paste for cleaning the bath yourself from those components that are always at home.

How easy is it to remove soap scum?

This is the most common problem homeowners face. Pollution occurs due to the use of solid toilet soap, the residue of which combines with hard water and settles on the surface of the sanitary ware.

The best way to clean a surface is to prevent soap scum. To do this, after each use of the bath, wipe it from foam and soap residue.

To remove soap deposits on the bath, you can buy a special cleaner in the store, or you can cook it yourself. To do this, take 150 grams of soda and 50 grams of vinegar. Mix the components and immediately apply to the place of contamination. After 5 minutes, wipe off the dirt with a sponge and rinse with water.

Rust control

Before removing rust stains, it is necessary to fix the faucets and faucets that lead to this problem.

To remove rust, you can cook mustard paste. To do this, add a little water to dry mustard to make a gruel. Apply the paste in a layer on the places of rust and leave for 5-6 hours. Then you should moisten the sponge in water and wipe off the mustard.

Limescale removal

The cause of this problem is hard water. To eliminate such plaque, first of all, it is necessary to install special filters to soften the water.

To whiten the surface of plumbing from limescale, you can prepare a product based on dishwashing detergent. To do this, you need 150 grams of baking soda, 150 grams of detergent and 75 grams of vinegar. The resulting mass must be applied to the dirty surface of the bath and left for 20-30 minutes. Then just wipe with a sponge.

How to whiten yellow spots?

It is possible to whiten yellow spots on the surface of the bath. The best remedy for this procedure is dry bleach. It can be purchased at any home improvement store. The powder must be mixed with a little water to make a paste. Apply the mixture on yellow spots and leave to dry completely. Then rinse with water.

If more radical methods are needed to remove stubborn dirt, a hydrochloric acid solution can be used. Soak a cotton cloth in the solution and wipe the contaminated areas. This method is only suitable for cast iron products.

Working with hydrochloric acid, as with other chemicals, is only necessary with rubber gloves. It is necessary to protect all chrome parts with cling film so as not to damage them.

Cleaning old products with damaged surfaces

Over time, any bath loses its attractive appearance - the surface becomes rough, cracks appear. With such damage, the dirt is absorbed very quickly, and it is difficult to deal with this problem. The only way out is to regularly wash the plumbing and wipe it down after each use.

A good cleaning agent for a dirty surface is soda paste. For stubborn stains, it is better to use soda ash, as it has a stronger alkali. Soda should be brought to a mushy state with water, apply the mixture on a sponge and wipe the contaminated places. Such a paste not only perfectly cleans old dirt, but also rust. In addition, soda ash is safe for humans, cleaning can be done even without gloves.

Another way to clean up an old bathtub is with a mixture of vinegar and dry bleach, mixed in equal amounts. This method is perfect for an old cast iron or enamel product.

How to wash acrylic coating?

Acrylic sanitary ware requires careful maintenance. The reason is that this material is very quickly covered with scratches and cracks, which can only be removed by restoration. Before you engage in bleaching and cleaning plumbing, you need to remember some rules:

  • do not use abrasive powders - they scratch the acrylic coating;
  • avoid the use of strong aggressive acids that can damage the bath.

To clean acrylic plumbing, you need to use cream and paste products, and vinegar or lemon juice is perfect for bleaching, in which you need to moisten a sponge and wipe the acrylic surface.

Cleaning cast iron

Most often, yellow spots and streaks are observed on an enameled cast-iron bath, especially in those places where liquid accumulates - a drain hole. If they are not removed in time, rust will appear very soon.

To clean yellow spots on an enameled surface, it is recommended to use the following products:

  • turpentine;
  • solutions of oil paints;
  • an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid;
  • a mixture of vinegar and soda.

To combat rust stains, you can use a mixture of ammonia with hydrogen peroxide - take them in equal proportions and clean the dirty surface. After 30 minutes, wipe the bath again and rinse with water. The cast iron surface is perfectly cleaned with a paste based on soda ash. Add a little vinegar to the powder and apply the mass to rusty places. Leave on for 40-50 minutes and rinse with water.

It is possible to get rid of yellowness, rust and wash the bath white. And for this it is not necessary to buy expensive pastes and powders. You can use vinegar, soda, ammonia, citric acid. They will help whiten even the oldest stains. It should be remembered that the best way to maintain the appearance of the bath cover is to rinse it after each use, and then you will not have to remove stubborn stains and rust.

Almost all of us love when you enter the bathroom, and it shines with snow-white cleanliness and a smooth, delicate surface. But, unfortunately, this is not always the case. Over time, yellow spots appear on the bathroom, and often the bath turns yellow. You ask what to do if the acrylic bath turned yellow?

Causes of spots

In order to answer your question, consider the reasons why an acrylic bathtub turns yellow:

  • Acrylic bath turns yellow due to poor workmanship. In this case, it is best to restore the bath yourself, or contact a specialist.
  • The bath turned yellow due to improper care or lack thereof. In this case, you can try to clean it with detergents.

In order to better understand how to clean an acrylic bath, consider the properties of the material with which it is covered.

Reference: Acrylic is a hard plastic, therefore it does not corrode. But he also has disadvantages. The biggest disadvantage is that acrylic is subject to mechanical stress and is easily scratched. For such baths, detergents containing chlorine, ammonia, acid cannot be used.

Acrylic is also afraid of boiling water, acetone, gasoline. Also, very often we observe yellow spots on the acrylic bathtub, which is the result of a leaking faucet.

Choosing a cleaning agent

To clean an acrylic bathroom, we will have to purchase a cloth or a soft sponge (we said above that acrylic is easily scratched), as well as detergents. Let's consider some of them:

  • Sif - this tool is suitable for almost the entire bathroom, and does not contain abrasive substances in its composition. It perfectly cleans the bath, you can clean the taps, and tiles. To clean the bath, you need to spray it for a few minutes, and then rinse.
  • Acrylan is a foam designed for cleaning showers and bathtubs. It perfectly cleans soap stains, in addition to rust, plaque, and various fungi, old stains. This agent also prevents the appearance of limescale, thanks to the film that forms after washing.

Important! It is necessary to use "Acrilan" only in rubber gloves, and store it in places inaccessible to children.

  • Bass is a tool to use every day. The agent is used in liquid form.
  • Tim-pro is a tool whose direct purpose is cleaning acrylic surfaces. It cleans heavily polluted places well, while being environmentally friendly, and also removes unpleasant odors. At the same time, it creates a plaque that has a dirt-repellent property.
  • Cinderella is a relatively inexpensive, at the same time quite effective, product for washing acrylic bathtubs. However, it has a pungent odor. Given that the product is aerosol, it is appropriate to use it in hand and respiratory protection. Then wait 7 minutes after spraying, and the bath will need to be washed off with cold water from the tap and allowed to air out the bathroom.
  • Cleaner - this tool has a special formula that allows you to effectively clean acrylic bathtubs, tiles, faucets from limescale, soap stains, grease, and corrosive deposits. This tool has an acrylic polymer that repels dirt, as well as an antibacterial and antifungal composition.

There are many other detergents such as Luxus professional, Cillit, Acryl-Net, RAVA K, Panni Bath and many others.

... and no "chemistry"

In addition to industrial detergents, folk can also save your bath:

  • If you have yellow spots on the bath, then they can be removed with regular toothpaste;
  • One more way. Mix baking soda with soap, and apply it to dirty places. After about 20 minutes, rinse with tap water. This usually helps;
  • To remove rust stains, lime deposits, it is good to use a mixture of ammonia and hydrogen peroxide. The proportion is one to one. To remove dirt, dip the hard part of the sponge into the solution and wipe the contaminated areas.

Bath resuscitation

Now let's move on to the most unpleasant event, when the acrylic bathtub turned yellow and the “rusty” spots were thoroughly ingrained. All available cleaning methods have been tried, but no result. The bathtub has fallen into disrepair. And even if at first glance everything is lost, you should not throw it away. Today's technologies allow reanimating acrylic coatings. This can be done by contacting specialists. But if you wish, you can return your favorite bath to a new life at home.

Let's start with the simplest ways and situations:

  • There are scratches, scuffs, rust spots on your bathtub. To do this, you need to purchase a polish for acrylic, and follow the instructions to remove the damage.
  • If you have cracks or chips, they can also be restored at home. To do this, you need to purchase an acrylic restorer repair kit. Then carefully drill the edges of the crack or chip. After that, rinse well and dry the repaired area. Degrease it, and after reading the instructions, dilute the acrylic reducing agent. Apply to surface following instructions. After drying, grind the surface and polish to a shine.
  • In case of through damage, a reinforcing repair kit can be used. To restore, you will need to seal the hole with glass mat on the outside of the bathroom. After drying, on the inside, apply acrylic restorer.

Conclusion

And finally, if your bathroom is so terrible that spot repairs are useless there, there is also a way out. To restore, we wash the bath, then rub the scale, lime deposits, and rust with sandpaper. After that, soak it in water. Then, with the help of soda, mustard powder, thoroughly wash. Then rinse and dry.

When our bath is well washed and degreased, we putty it with automotive putty. After letting the putty dry, we rub it with sandpaper so that the putty is equal to the acrylic. We blow out all the dust, then wipe the bathroom clean and fill it with acrylic. After drying, you get a new, perfectly white and smooth bath. At the same time save your budget. In addition, you will be sure that in six months your bath will not lose color.

To properly care for an acrylic bath, you need to purchase soft sponges and microfiber cloths. Also, when cleaning, it is necessary to use special products that will not harm the acrylic surface, which quite specifically perceives the effects of aggressive chemicals. Find out more about cleaning such a bathtub below.

Purchased cleaning products

For acrylic baths, detergents can be especially dangerous if they contain concentrated alkalis and acids, chlorine, ammonia. These substances can change the color of the bathtub, contribute to the appearance of small cracks and scratches, and roughen a smooth surface. Therefore, it is very important to choose the right cleaning agent:
  • Acrylan. Foam is recommended as a detergent. With its help, you can remove various contaminants in the form of rust and limescale. The contaminated surface is wiped with a sponge, on which foam is applied, and after 10 minutes from the moment of treatment, it is washed off with water.

The foam creates a thin protective layer that prevents dirt from settling on the surface of the tub.

  • Sif, Vass. They are considered the most versatile means for gentle cleaning of plumbing surfaces, including acrylic bathtubs. They do not contain substances that can damage its surface. After cleaning with these products, the bath will shine with brilliance and whiteness, if there are no old dirt.
  • Cinderella. It is recommended to wear rubber gloves and a mask when using the product, as an unpleasant odor is emitted when spraying. It should be kept on the surface for about 7-10 minutes. Then rinse with a shower and wipe with a sponge or microfiber cloth.
  • Chister. Its advantage is that it contains an acrylic polymer. When processing the surface, it covers it like a film, repelling various types of contaminants, and the bath will shine with brilliance and whiteness for a long time. It will not accumulate bacteria and fungi. A surface treatment of 5 minutes is sufficient.
  • Team Pro. A special product for acrylic baths, which not only gently cleans various types of dirt, but also eliminates odors, and also creates a reliable protective layer against other dirt.
  • Bon Professional. It is a reliable cleaner for plastic products. It is applied to a cloth and wiped the surface of the bath. It is recommended to wait a few minutes and rinse thoroughly with clean water. It forms a special film that protects the surface from contamination for a long time.

In addition, if there is no special product at home, you can use dishwashing gels, as well as washing powder, previously dissolved in water.

Can Domestos be used?

Many housewives are interested in the question of the possibility of cleaning a plastic bath with Domestos. This tool is not allowed to be used. Although it will contain hydrochloric acid, it does not damage the acrylic surface. Perfectly removes plaque and rust.

But before proceeding with the treatment of the bath with this remedy, you need to know how this is done:

  • First, moisten a soft sponge with the composition and wipe the bath.
  • Wait about 1 minute and wash off the composition with plenty of water.
  • Wipe the surface dry.

In addition to cleaning the surface, Domestos reliably disinfects it and creates a protective layer.

Homemade Acrylic Bathtub Cleaners

They do not cause allergies and do not require separate material costs:
  • Lemon acid. For cleaning, the bath is filled with warm water, to which 10 g of acid is added. Water is not drained for about 2-12 hours. After the time has elapsed, the water is drained, and the surface is rinsed with running water. Residual moisture is removed with a soft cloth.
  • Toothpaste. In the event of various kinds of stains, use toothpaste. It is applied to a sponge and the stain is rubbed, slightly pressing on it.
  • Baking soda. If it is necessary to remove rust or limescale, use a slurry of baking soda. The surface is treated with it and after a while it is washed off with warm water.

Ways to remove yellowness from an acrylic bath

Yellowness from the surface of an acrylic bath can be removed in the following ways:
  • For gentle bleaching of acrylic baths, it is recommended to mix in equal proportions ammonia and hydrogen peroxide. With this composition, it is necessary to wipe the baths using a delicate cloth.
  • Use in equal amounts lemon juice and vinegar. They are mixed and applied to the surface with a sponge.
  • Apply laundry bleach. To do this, the powder is diluted with water to make a slurry, and applied to the spots. Leave until the slurry dries, then rinse with clean water and wipe with a rag.
  • Finish the surface of the bath apple cider vinegar then rinse with water.

Removing limescale from an acrylic bath

The bath has constant contact with tap water. Over time, salts can settle on its surface, forming a gray coating. In the same form, fat particles are deposited, which we wash off during bathing from the skin, if after bathing the bath was poorly washed off. Due to such a coating, the bath loses its luster and whiteness, and the surface becomes rough.

It is necessary to choose products that will effectively remove plaque without damaging its surface. These liquids and creams include: Sanfor, Gel WC 5+, RAVAK Turbocleaner. They gently affect the surface without damaging it.

So that the plaque does not have time to stagnate, it is necessary to clean the bath with these products at least 2 times a month. If measures are not taken in time, then over time a thin hard film will thicken. Each time it will be more and more difficult to remove it from the surface of the acrylic bath.

The advantage of these products is that there is no need to rub the surface, but only need to process it, wait a few minutes and rinse with running water.

We remove strong plaque and "water stone"

If the bathroom has not been looked after for a long time, plaque may form, which will be difficult to remove. However, there is a tool that can cope with such a raid:
  • Take cleaning powder for dishes or laundry, dilute with water and mix until a slurry.
  • Add 2 tbsp. l. whiteness and 1 tbsp. l. vinegar.
This mixture must be applied to the surface with a plastic or rubber spatula and left for 20 minutes. Then take a soft sponge, lightly pressing, wipe the problem areas. Rinse the mixture with running water and dry the bath.
