Based on experiments, it was found that it is coffee that is better than all other means to neutralize the effect of alcohol. It is a cup of strong hot coffee that can bring to the senses a person who feels the strong effect of alcoholic beverages.

Coffee should be exactly black without the addition of milk or cream. Sugar is allowed. Coffee beans are ground and poured with warm water and brought to a boil over hot coals. But they don't boil. To replenish the fluid level, a water-salt solution is needed. The most favorite way of Russian people is cucumber pickle, and preferably from under pickled tomatoes, cabbage pickle. These liquids contain a lot of salt, minerals, trace elements, acid from vinegar. Such a composition is perfectly absorbed into the walls of the stomach and replenishes the blood plasma with the necessary fluid and salts.

Aspirin, drunk 12-20 hours before the intended use of alcohol, can increase the threshold of sobriety of a person. Acetylsalicylic acid stabilizes the work of the heart, thins the blood, strengthens blood vessels, relieves inflammation. How to stay sober using dimexide

During the feast, you can use a simple and safe tool that should be prepared in advance. Dilute dimexide, purchased at a pharmacy, with water - and moisten a piece of gauze or cotton wool with this solution, which is then put in a tightly closed bottle. Microdoses of dimexide have an alcoprotective and sobering effect, so it will be enough to smell the smell of the solution from the bottle. For example, when you leave the table to go to the bathroom or to make a phone call.

Please note that dimexide smells sharp, its smell is similar to the smell of garlic.

How to drink and not get drunk with metaprot

In case of emergency, one hour before the feast, you can take two tablets, which in total give a dose of 500 mg of Metaprot. Then the maximum of its action (3 hours after taking) will just fall approximately in the middle of the feast. Don't overdose or overuse Metaprot: it's not a harmless pill.

A dropper of saline and mexidol at a dose of 250 mg of the active substance is even more effective. Please note that droppers can only be placed by a professional physician (a specially trained nurse), making droppers on your own is deadly.

How mental preparation can help

It makes sense to use psychological preparation. The method does not seem serious, but in fact practice shows that it can be much more effective than the most severe medicinal approaches. Keep in mind that intoxication as such is the effect of alcohol on the psyche, and the psyche may well withstand external and internal influences.

In addition to the above and really effective ways to ease the impending intoxication, you can often hear from friends or find in magazine articles the so-called "folk methods" that should help a person drink and not get drunk. Unfortunately, they do not find confirmation of their effectiveness from experienced toxicologists. About these methods, which not only will not alleviate intoxication, but may even aggravate, we will describe below.

How not to get too drunk

Of course, not everyone is ready to take medicine and put droppers in order not to get drunk. Fortunately, most of us do not need this - unless, of course, you work as a scout. In all other cases, we drink not at all in order to stay sober.

Another thing is that a slight intoxication, which allows you to relax and have fun, can imperceptibly turn into a heavy one, after which the next day it will definitely not be fun (and sometimes it happens right away). There are tricky tricks to help prevent this:

What to do in advance:

  1. Get a good night's sleep the night before the party. Lack of sleep and fatigue negatively affect the nervous system. And then the alcohol makes you more drunk.
  2. Drink an "accelerating dose" 2.5-5 hours before the feast. Liver enzymes that break down alcohol will begin to work, and your body will meet the main dose of alcohol already “fully armed”. A cocktail works best: 150 ml of the classic Schweppes tonic plus 50-70 g of vodka. Quinine, contained in the tonic, enhances the effect of the "overclocking dose".
  3. Take activated charcoal one hour before drinking. In this dosage: 1 tablet for every 10 kg of body. The charcoal then partially absorbs the toxic substances from your stomach before they can enter your bloodstream. Coal can be replaced by any modern sorbent.

There is a myth that before a feast, you can take a couple of tablets of drugs with pancreatic enzymes (for example, Pancreatin, Mezim, Festal), which allegedly improve the processing of food and alcohol, respectively, slow down intoxication. However, in reality, they do not have any effect on the speed or strength of intoxication. The benefit of these enzymes will only be that they may help smooth out a hangover.

What to do during a feast:

  1. Do not drink alcohol with soda. Carbonated drinks speed up the absorption of alcohol into the blood, so intoxication comes faster. And if you are already tipsy at the beginning of the holiday, then it will be difficult to restrain yourself and observe the measure.
  2. Choose the right snack. Fatty and heavy foods delay the onset of intoxication for a while - and it seems to a person that it is quite possible to drink more. Thus, it is easy to sort out. And when alcohol begins to flow into the blood, intoxication will be significant. With a hearty snack, there is a risk of drinking even a lethal dose of alcohol imperceptibly. Prefer a light snack at the table, especially lean on vegetables and fruits, sauerkraut, honey, apple and grape juices: they speed up the metabolism and help the body quickly detoxify alcohol.
  3. Follow the “half-glass rule”: simply put, when pouring drinks, do not top up. This is not only the observance of etiquette, there is also a practical benefit: the less you pour, the less you drink. Why a raw egg doesn't work

There is an opinion that if you drink a raw egg before a feast, this will help you not get drunk and prevent a severe hangover.

Indeed, a raw egg, drunk before or during a feast, forms a stable colloidal mass with alcohol and thus slows down (but does not cancel!) the process of intoxication. But alcohol also binds B vitamins, the lack of which worsens the process of processing alcohol. It turns out that the game is not worth the candle, especially when you consider the excessive burden on the gastrointestinal tract that raw eggs give, and even the risk of getting sick with salmonellosis (if the egg is poorly washed).

Why oil or lard will not delay intoxication


Sometimes in folk recipes you can find advice to eat a piece of lard, butter or drink a spoonful of vegetable oil in advance. It is assumed that fat will envelop the walls of the stomach and intestines and thereby slow down the absorption of alcohol. In reality, this is not feasible, because the suction surface of the gastrointestinal tract is hundreds of square meters, it is simply impossible to eat so much fat.

Conclusion: neither lard nor oil will help you stay sober.

Why milk and kefir will not help

Medical experience shows that lactic acid products work with a hangover that has already begun, but not in advance.

Drinking milk before or at the same time with alcohol is not recommended, because milk is difficult to digest and puts an additional burden on the pancreas, thereby aggravating alcohol poisoning and causing a more severe hangover.

Why a snack doesn't steal a degree

Indeed, an abundance of food in the gastrointestinal tract will slow down the absorption of alcohol from the gastrointestinal tract into the circulatory system and delay intoxication for some time. If you have heard somewhere that spicy soup reduces intoxication, do not believe it. There is nothing wrong with the soup itself, but it is better not to put spicy seasonings in it. Garlic, onion, horseradish, mustard, hot pepper, vinegar - all these seasonings slow down the oxidation of alcohol in the body. Alcohol cannot quickly break down into more harmless substances - therefore, both intoxication and the subsequent hangover are even more severe.
