How to clean a dishwasher at home. How to clean the dishwasher at home: mechanical and chemical methods for cleaning the dishwasher Cleaning the dishwasher

In order for the dishwasher to properly cope with its duties, it is necessary not only to follow the operating rules, but also to regularly care for the equipment. Otherwise, you may encounter such troubles as the smell of mustiness, fatty deposits, mold. And in especially neglected cases - and with a breakdown of the equipment itself.

You will learn everything about how to clean the dishwasher at home and extend its service life from the article we have proposed. We have described in detail the methods and steps for caring for a dishwasher, listed the tools that have been proven in practice. Given our advice, you will eliminate any problems in the operation of the machine.

Although many modern models of dishwashers have a self-cleaning function, this does not save you from the need to periodically rinse the filters and other elements of the machine.

And even professional appliance care products may not be enough when it comes to blockages or operation with hard water. Therefore, the key to the flawless operation of the dishwasher is comprehensive and timely care.

Flushing the drain and inlet filter

There is a multilayer filter on the drain of any dishwasher, the task of which is to prevent clogging of the drain with pieces of food and other debris.

But even if you diligently follow the manufacturer's recommendations and wipe the dishes with napkins before each load to remove food residue, grease or hard water deposits may cause the appliance to stop before it has completed a full load.

You need to clean the filter at least 1-2 times a week, since a fine mesh can become clogged even with insoluble particles of washing powder or salts, and then the machine will display a drain operation error

To get to the filter, we act like this:

  • We turn off the dishwasher.
  • We take out the lower basket, collect the remaining water at the bottom of the device with a sponge.
  • In the lower part of the housing, next to the sprinkler, we find a round recess - it houses the filter, which consists of a metal membrane for fine cleaning, a plastic cup with large holes and an internal mesh.
  • In new dishwashers, easy removal is provided for this element - just pull it up or unscrew it counterclockwise. But in models older than 7-10 years, you may need a screwdriver, pliers and other improvised tools from the arsenal of a home master.
  • From the very hole under the filter, you need to remove the water with a sponge and inspect the niche for contaminants - if any solid waste particles get through the filter protection, they can damage or break the pump.
  • To make sure that the pump impeller is working, you can unscrew the self-tapping screw with a screwdriver, remove the protective bar and carefully turn the blades. If they rotate easily and no foreign objects are found, you can collect them back. Otherwise, you will have to disassemble the pump design.
  • Then all parts are cleaned of accumulations of debris and washed with warm water with any fat-dissolving agent. If the filter has not been cleaned for a long time, the mesh cells are very clogged or the glass is covered with scale, you can soak these elements for a couple of hours in a solution of vinegar, citric acid or sprinkle with dishwasher detergent.

Although the outlet filter is the most popular place for blockages to accumulate, it does not hurt to check the condition of the intake hose during a comprehensive mechanical cleaning of the dishwasher. Accumulations of sand, rust particles and salts can be found here.

To get to the inlet filter, you need to turn off the water and unscrew the supply hose - a fine-mesh membrane will be visible inside

To clean the dishwasher bay, disconnect the inlet hose (and rinse it at the same time). There should be two filters inside: immediately behind the tee tap and at the entrance to the device itself.

Both meshes are removed and washed with warm water. If they are damaged or heavily clogged, they can be replaced with new ones - such consumables are inexpensive. After checking, all filters are assembled in the reverse order.

Checking the condition and cleaning of sprinklers

Another problematic element that can disable is the spray system. Although the water from the hose is already cleaned of large inclusions, fine particles of sand and calcium salts easily pass through the cells of the inlet filter.

In addition, water with high hardness can damage the rubber seals on rotating rocker arms, so it is advisable to inspect their condition at least once a month.

To clean clogged impeller nozzles, you can use toothbrushes, pieces of thin wire or ordinary toothpicks, you just need to be careful not to push dirt deep into the hole

The principle of cleaning sprayers:

  • Take out the upper basket with the rocker attached to it.
  • Bend the latches and remove the sprinkler blades.
  • Remove the lower basket and remove the lower rocker - usually just turn the rocker counterclockwise and pull up, holding the part in the middle.
  • Inspect the condition of the seals (replace if necessary).
  • Rinse the blades under running water, clean the nozzles and connecting nodes.
  • Reassemble the system and make sure that the sprinklers rotate without interference and effort.

The fasteners of the rocker arms for different models may differ, so it is worth checking the instructions before the first cleaning so as not to accidentally break the latches.

How to clean the nozzles on the Hansa dishwasher sprayers, the video will demonstrate:

Cleaning the body and seals

It is recommended to wipe the inner walls, baskets and elastic on the appliance door dry after each start. But it does not hurt to periodically disinfect these areas with a special tool that is approved for use in dishwashers.

Particular attention should be paid to the joints and the area on the bottom of the door - they are almost not washed with water during washing, so food debris quickly accumulates here and begins to decompose.

If you do not wipe the internal elements of the device from moisture and do not ventilate its box, the smell of dampness or mold may settle inside

It is enough to wipe a not very dirty seal with a soft cloth soaked in a cleaning solution, and in advanced cases, you can help yourself with a toothbrush. But it is undesirable to spray the product or wash the door with a wet sponge so that the liquid does not get on the electrical wiring or in the lock.

Many housewives use home remedies to clean household appliances, for example, the same lemon powder or vinegar. But in the case of seals, such savings are very doubtful - the gum can harden or dry out under the influence of acid, and the machine will begin to leak during operation.

After completing the program, you need to open the tablet / powder compartment, rinse it from detergents, wipe it or leave it open until completely dry

Baskets with dried food residues can first be soaked in warm water for a couple of hours, then washed in soapy water with a stiff non-metal brush. However, the self-cleaning function, if it is provided in the device, does a good job with this task. Before installing inside the box, all elements must be washed with clean running water and wiped dry.

Elimination of grease, mold and scale

If you notice that an unpleasant smell has appeared on the dishes or the inner walls of the appliance, or an unpleasant smell has begun to come from the box, you need to urgently start cleaning the machine.

And the best helpers here will be ready-made solutions made by machine manufacturers. Improvised means will also come in handy, which are sure to be found in the kitchen of any housewife.

The use of ready-made chemicals

In order to wash the dishwasher and its internal elements that are inaccessible to simple mechanical cleaning, it is recommended to run the appliance on any long cycle at a high temperature with the addition of.

But if you notice yellow or rusty spots on the internal surfaces of the dishwasher, the high iron content in the water may also be the cause. In this case, you will have to install a special filter on the inlet hose.

Fresh stains can be removed with a rag soaked in a stainless steel cleaner, but old rust after washing is best treated with an anti-corrosion coating.

Bottled Finish is a universal dishwasher cleaner that is placed neck down in an empty tray, and the machine starts up on a full cycle at a temperature of 65 degrees

The most popular chemicals for disinfection and descaling:

  • Finish Machine Cleaner- under the influence of hot water, the membrane on the neck of the bottle dissolves, and the product actively cleans all accessible surfaces from grease, scale and unpleasant odors.
  • Antinakipin- degreasing powder for removing lime deposits and scale on the internal elements of the machine.
  • FILTERO- liquid for preventive cleaning of dishwashers from grease and scale.
  • ELECTROLUX- liquid detergent for removing body fat and small food debris, as well as anti-scale powder and fragrance.

These drugs work on a similar principle - they are placed in an empty dishwasher, then the device is turned on for 45-90 minutes at high temperature. After that, it is recommended to start rinsing empty again, already for a short cycle, in order to ensure that all chemical residues are removed, and wipe the surfaces dry with a soft cloth.

A clear example of the excellent work of a professional product is the interior of a dishwasher before and after cleaning with Finish Machine Cleaner

In addition, you can use specialized sprays and liquids recommended for cleaning and polishing the stainless walls of the dishwasher, and to combat unpleasant odors - flavors that are hung on the baskets of the appliance and can be used for several cycles.

But manufacturers do not recommend adding dishwashing liquid for preventive washing and degreasing the surface.

The fact is that increased foaming can damage the internal elements of the device, and attempts to save money will end in repairs. Therefore, it is possible and necessary to manually wipe the surfaces in a soapy solution, but you should not start the machine with the addition of a foaming liquid.

Purchased alternative

Professional preparations are good for their balanced composition and complex action on the three most common problems of machines - scale, smell and fatty deposits. But if you are looking for a way to quickly clean the dishwasher and save money at the same time, we offer several recipes from inexpensive but effective ingredients.

Soda, vinegar and lemon acid are the most famous helpers of housewives in the fight against limescale, rust stains and grease.

To clean the machine, and at the same time drain from body fat, you need to pour 1.5-2 cups of vinegar into a cup or plate. Then they should be placed in the upper tray, pour soda on the bottom and start any long mode.

And as soon as the water heats up, press pause and leave the device for at least 30 minutes (but better at night). During this time, various dried debris and plaque will soften and be easily removed along with dirty water.

Another universal remedy that will help remove traces of scale is citric acid. Its consumption depends on the displacement of the car and the degree of contamination, but on average it will take about 150-200 grams. It also works at high temperatures, and for the best effect - with a forced shutdown of the device from 30 minutes to several hours.

Although lemon powder is really good at removing scale and cleaning the nozzles in the powder flask, this method of cleaning is very controversial, since concentrated acid can damage the seals of the device.

There is also a more gentle way - prepare a solution from water and vinegar or lemon powder, pour it into any spray bottle and use it to manually clean the inside walls of the box and other scaled surfaces. In this case, you need to spray the product carefully and make sure that it does not get on the rubber elements, as well as on the skin.

You can make 2-in-1 tablets from soda, which will not only help clean the car of grease and dirt, but also freshen the air with a pleasant aroma.

Cooking method:

  1. Pour 10-15 drops of any essential oil and 1-2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide into a glass of powdered soda.
  2. Mix everything with a spatula - the mixture should become like wet sand.
  3. Use a spoon or ice cream scoop to scoop into small balls.
  4. Arrange the prepared tablets at the bottom of the device.
  5. Run the dishwasher for a long cycle.

But in order to reduce the amount of work during general cleaning, we recommend that you take note of a few simple tips for regular maintenance and operation:

  1. Place the dishes in the trays according to the manufacturer's layout. However, they are the same for all appliances - frying pans, pots, baking sheets with soot and other heavily soiled or large dishes are always placed at the bottom - washing is more active there. And glasses, cups and deep plates must be turned upside down so that there are no powder residues and water left in them.
  2. Before loading, wipe the dishes from large debris with a regular cloth.
  3. Use in addition to detergent powder or tablets that already contain softener.
  4. After each cycle, remove the coarse filter mesh and remove accumulated debris.
  5. Check the compartment for any powder or pieces of tablets left in it.

Use only non-metallic objects and soft cloths for cleaning - hard fibers can damage the protective coating of the box or baskets and give the green light to rust.

The video will introduce you to the features of cleaning the dishwasher with home remedies and the cooking method:

To prevent a musty smell, always wipe the internal parts after each start-up with a dry cloth and ventilate the appliance until the condensation has evaporated.

And the last tip - use the dishwasher at least 3-4 times a week. Paradoxically, the longer an appliance is left out of service, the shorter its life will be, since such downtime is more likely to cause problems with blockages, limestone and unpleasant odors.

Conclusions and useful video on the topic

In order to visualize the scope of the upcoming cleaning, especially the extraction and cleaning of the internal elements of the dishwasher, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with a small selection of video tips from home craftsmen and experienced housewives.

Regular care and preventive washing of dishwasher systems:

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in caring for dishwashers. But if the machine is not pampered with regular cleaning, its sparkling walls will quickly become covered with a bloom.

Food debris will clog filters and spray nozzles, fungus will settle in the seal, and key parts will fail and require replacement. Do not forget about your assistant or entrust her prevention to cleaning specialists.

With the advent of a dishwasher in the house, the life of the hostess becomes much easier. There is no need to stand at the sink for a long time, washing a mountain of plates and pans. However, do not forget that such equipment also needs regular cleaning. Proper care of your dishwasher will significantly extend its life and improve performance.

Causes of pollution

The main cause of dishwasher clogging is leftover food. Even if you carefully remove leftovers from plates, pots, and baking sheets, over time, food particles accumulate. Fat also gradually settles on the details, and scale inevitably appears. All of these have a significant impact on the efficiency of your dishwasher.

When should you wash?

Determining that it's time to wash the equipment is not at all difficult. Your dishwasher will tell you about this. We list the main "symptoms", with the appearance of which it is urgent to begin the cleaning process.

  • Bad smell. If the car emits a strong unpleasant odor that you have not noticed before, do not ignore it. This fact suggests that the structural elements are clogged with grease and debris. The formation of mold fungus on the elements of technology is not excluded.
  • characteristic noise. When the sound of the pump becomes too loud, you should check if the filter is dirty. The quality of washing dishes directly depends on this.

The degree of pollution of equipment depends on many factors. In particular from:

  • degree of water hardness;
  • intensity of use of the machine;
  • the amount of greasy dishes;
  • properties of the detergents used;
  • the quality of pre-cleaning dishes.

Cleaning steps

In order to wash the equipment as efficiently as possible, it is important to divide the entire process of work into several successive parts.

We do deep cleaning

To do this, you need the simplest tools. First of all, we take any capacious container, fill it with water up to half, add two glasses acetic acid. If there is no suitable container at hand, you can use a sink for this purpose. In the resulting solution we place the removable elements of the dishwasher. This is necessary so that the parts get wet, and it is easier to wash them from accumulated contaminants.

Instead of vinegar, you can use regular citric acid, soda and even soda(provided that the drink is not too bright in color, otherwise stains may remain on the details). You can go the easy way and add a special dishwashing detergent to the water. After that, we deal with the bottom and walls of the car. You can clean them in any way convenient for you (for example, using detergent for dishwashers or stoves).

Dealing with structural elements

We remove the shelves and holders, take out their dishwashers. Further, the algorithm of actions depends entirely on the size of these parts. If the shelves and holders are large enough, you need to clean them separately. Wipe them with a sponge dipped in vinegar. In a situation where the structural elements of the machine are not too large, they can be placed in a container or sink in which other parts are soaked. Particular attention should be paid to the elimination of leftover food. Arm yourself with a toothpick or a thin sharp stick and carefully eliminate them.

Getting rid of accumulated debris

The design of the dishwasher includes washing carousels. They have special holes through which water is drained. It is important that foreign debris does not interfere with the movement of the fluid. You have to carefully check the openings of the carousels for blockages. To make the cleaning process as simple as possible, but at the same time most effective, you will need a wire or a thin skewer, as well as pliers.

You can clean the holes with wire by pulling it through the far hole. It is important to bend the wire thread from one end into a kind of hook. So you can easily remove stuck debris. The other way is more complicated. It involves creating a small hole on the outside of the part. In this case, the carousel can be easily cleaned from the inside with a brush. Most importantly, then it is imperative to close the drilled hole with a stainless steel screw of a suitable diameter.

We wipe the rest of the elements

The doors are not washed while the dishwasher is running. The same applies to the space around the baskets. It is necessary to carefully process such places manually. To do this, you will need a brush with soft bristles (a toothbrush will do), a cloth or a sponge. An excellent option would be the following cleaning method: wipe the main surface with a cloth dampened with a solution of vinegar or a non-aggressive detergent. And those places that are hard to reach for a rag, clean with a small brush. So you are guaranteed to achieve perfect cleanliness.

Eliminate grease and mold

To do this, you need ordinary bleach. Use it very carefully, do not add too much, do not mix with other detergents. Do not use bleach if the walls and doors of the equipment are made of stainless steel. Run the dishwasher in normal mode, do a few cycles. Upon completion of this procedure, open the doors of the machine and thoroughly dry the equipment inside.

We eliminate corrosion

In most cases, the appearance of traces of corrosion is due to the fact that too hard water with a high iron content enters the water supply. Or the pipes are old and rusty. You can soften the water with the help of special solutions, but this method does not always bring the desired effect. There is a more effective method - installing filters that remove iron from the water. This procedure will minimize the appearance of rust and limescale. If spots appear, the first step is to identify the cause of their appearance. Depending on this, it is worth choosing a cleaning method.

In a situation where the integrity of structural elements has suffered due to corrosion, you need to fix this with a special sealant that is sold in any store. Or you can replace the part without waiting for it to completely fail.

We return everything to its place

Once all parts of the dishwasher have been washed and dried, it's time to put them back in their place. If the equipment was used intensively, it is also necessary to clean the bottom. To do this, it is important to disconnect the machine from the mains and remove the bottom, carefully remove all debris and wipe the surface. This completes the cleaning of the machine at home. Now the equipment will work more stable and more efficiently. Before turning on the network, make sure that all elements are dry.

To keep your machine as infrequent as possible, follow these simple rules for regular maintenance.

  • Use equipment for nothing from time to time. To do this, simply turn on the short cycle in economy mode. This will get rid of a significant amount of debris and pollution. Do not forget that it is better to use the machine constantly, avoiding long downtime (equipment breaks down faster if it is not used).
  • Sometimes add vinegar. The process begins with the start of equipment in economy mode. In this case, it is necessary to add a small amount of ordinary vinegar to the dishwasher. In the middle of the cycle, stop the machine so that the structural parts are soaked in the vinegar solution. Then start the cycle again. This method is very good at fighting pollution.

After buying a dishwasher, users over time are faced with the question of how to clean the dishwasher at home. During prolonged use, food, grease, and other contaminants accumulate in the washing compartment, which must be removed regularly.

To make cleaning less burdensome, certain operating rules must be observed.

Similar rules are spelled out in the instructions or operating manual. They are designed for everyday use and are suitable for regular maintenance with some frequency. These rules include:

  1. Regularly inspect the water supply hose for blockages and leaks.
  2. Drying the door rubber seal at least once a month.
  3. Correct stacking of dishes without overloading.
  4. Preliminary cleaning of dishes from food residues.
  5. Timely addition of washing and regenerating salts.

Inspection

It is always necessary to inspect the structure for dirt and blockages. Visual control should be carried out regularly, and as it gets dirty, you need to clean the dishwasher and the dirtiest structural elements. The sequence of parts inspection is as follows:

  • nozzles on the spray arms, which often become clogged;
  • joints and connections with the door where dirt accumulates;
  • space under the door;
  • baskets on which fat accumulates;
  • mesh filter, the cells of which are clogged.

Cleaning frequency

The main structural elements are subject to certain contamination. They require special attention and need to be cleaned at different intervals. The desired frequency is indicated in the table.

Strainer

This is the part most vulnerable to dirt. The filter prevents food residues from entering the circulation pump. It is located at the bottom of the loading compartment next to the sprinkler. Consists of:

  • honeycomb plate;
  • external filter cup with fine-meshed walls;
  • inner sleeve with the same wall structure.

With irregular and untimely cleaning, dirt will accumulate on the filter, an unpleasant odor will appear, there will be problems with water circulation, and the device will stop working. To prevent this, the filter must be disassembled, cleaned with a brush or toothpick and washed under running water. For more serious contamination, place the filter in a washing solution and clean it after soaking.

Spray arms

These elements are also sensitive to dirt. Plaque and food debris clog openings, contribute to the appearance of scale, interfere with the spraying of liquid in the compartment. All this negatively affects washing dishes. Despite the obvious ease of care, not everyone knows how to clean the rocker without compromising its performance.

When cleaning the nozzles, do not clog the clog inward, it must be removed outward with a toothpick or thin wire. Another option is to supply water under pressure from the back of the rocker.

External contamination is easily washed off under running water using detergents.

door seal

Plaque accumulates here, which can disrupt the tightness of the fit, cause the seal to leak. To clean it, it is better not to use citric acid. It will only exacerbate the problem. Use a standard cleaning compound by applying it to a rough cloth or regular toothbrush.

"Dead" space under the door

Another weak point is the lower part of the door on the inside. This space is not washed out during washing, but accumulates debris. It can be removed with a damp cloth.

Baskets

The problem of how to wash baskets is also often difficult. For a thorough cleaning, wiping with a dry cloth is not enough.

Baskets should be placed in the sink or tub, then applied with a sponge and left for 20 minutes. After that, it is necessary to thoroughly wash everything with a brush, rinse under running water and wipe dry. This will free the baskets of the inner compartment of the machine from grease and other dirt.

Elimination of defects

With untimely care, rust, mold, scale are formed on the listed nodes and mechanisms. They provoke odors, spoil the view, and can disable the device. Therefore, cleaning the dishwasher from these contaminants is very important.

Rust

Its occurrence on metal surfaces may be the result of exposure to water with an excessive amount of iron in the composition. Helps prevent corrosion coarse filter installed on the water supply hose. If rust has already appeared, it is necessary to apply a special composition to remove it.

Mold

Another result of improper use of the dishwasher. It can occur due to neglect of drying the internal space. The best way to prevent is to remove moisture residue with a dry cloth and ventilate the boot compartment with the door open.

Bleach is often used to clean mold, but be aware that its composition can be dangerous for stainless steel.

scale

One of the most common questions from users arises about cleaning the dishwasher from scale. Long-term operation of the apparatus with hot water inevitably leads to its appearance. Regenerating salt may slow down this process, but does not help to avoid it. To remove scale you will need:

  1. Load special detergent into the detergent drawer.
  2. Set the longest operating mode with the maximum temperature.
  3. Run a car wash with an empty car.

It is important to choose the right cleaner. There are many such compositions on sale, but the most common is “ Finish". Its undesirable replacement with citric acid can ruin rubber gaskets.

A relatively safe and effective alternative is a mixture of water, vinegar, and table salt. The resulting solution in the beaker must be placed in the cup basket before starting the machine.

General cleaning

If users neglect regular cleaning of components and mechanisms, then it is imperative to carry out a general or general cleaning of the device.

Before proceeding to cleaning, it is necessary to completely de-energize the device and turn off the water supply. Next you need:

  1. Remove all baskets from the compartment.
  2. Place them in a bath with a solution of water and detergent for 20-30 minutes to soak.
  3. Carefully clean filling valves.
  4. Wash the joints of the door and the walls of the loading compartment using detergent, a rag, a toothbrush.
  5. Wash the sprinkler with a trash filter.
  6. Wash the walls of the inner compartment.
  7. After cleaning is complete, return all components to their place.

Each model has its own design features that may require specific maintenance. Therefore, the best source for learning how to clean a dishwasher is the included instructions with instruction manuals.

A dishwasher, like any other household appliance, needs care. Moreover, it must be washed regularly, otherwise it will not be able to do its job well. Even if you put only clean dishes without large food residues in the compartments, sooner or later debris accumulates inside the chamber, on the door and on the spray arm. In addition, mold can appear from constant moisture in the dishwasher, and this is no good at all.

Regular care

After each cycle, it is desirable to remove not only the dishes from the machine, but also the accumulated debris. Large crumbs, parts of broken plates and cups, labels torn off containers - all this and much more accumulates at the bottom and can ruin the dishwasher. Also, after dry cleaning, it is necessary to wash the door and the bottom of the chamber.

About once a month, the machine needs more thorough care:

  1. Remove all shelves and compartments from the chamber - they must be washed separately in a sink with detergent. To help remove dirt faster, soak them in warm water with baking soda or vinegar.
  2. Thoroughly wipe the dishwasher from the inside. Pay special attention to the walls, bottom and door.
  3. The drain hole and water supply pipes also need to be looked after. Look, they are not clogged with garbage. It is best to wash them with a toothbrush: soft bristles will remove everything unnecessary from the cracks.
  4. Remove the dishwasher filter and wash it under running water.
  5. It is also necessary to clean the sprinkler regularly. Wash it from plaque and check whether the holes pass water well. Try to clean clogged compartments with a toothpick.
  6. Return all parts to the dishwasher. Place a glass of vinegar on the bottom shelf, and a plate with half a glass of baking soda on the top shelf. Turn on the intensive wash mode and let the machine clean itself.
  7. After turning off, open the machine and let the chamber air out well.

With regular maintenance, your dishwasher will be able to wash dirty dishes much better. However, keep in mind that it is also necessary to take care of the heating element, because the high temperature during washing can lead to the formation of scale. To prevent this from happening, try to run an intensive wash cycle with citric acid once a month. To do this, pour it into the dishwasher instead of detergent and turn on the desired program. Of course, there should be no dishes inside.

How to remove the bottom of a dishwasher

If the machine began to wash dishes worse and at the same time an unpleasant smell appeared inside, it is quite possible that too much debris has accumulated under the bottom. It is necessary to carefully remove the bottom inside the chamber and thoroughly wash all parts of the device.

Removing the bottom of the dishwasher

  • pull the plug out of the socket;
  • carefully unscrew the screws and lift the filter cover;
  • seal the inlet of the filter with tape so that new debris does not get into it;
  • remove all solid debris with a dry cloth;
  • wet the sponge with detergent and wash the bottom of the machine;
  • if there are dried-on pieces of food, soak them first, and then carefully brush them off;
  • to get rid of mold and bad smell, you can use vinegar (don't forget the gloves!);
  • peel off the tape and put everything in place;
  • fasten the screws.

Important: if you are afraid that you will not be able to assemble the machine back, it is better to take pictures or record the entire process of unscrewing and removing parts. So you won't forget anything.

washing the car outside

The dishwasher needs to be washed not only inside, but also outside. To do this, wipe it regularly with a soft sponge dipped in a mild detergent solution. Take special care of the handle and control box - these are the parts that are usually the dirtiest. Also, a lot of debris and grease accumulates in the gap between the panels.

Remember: if you wash your typewriter regularly, it will certainly please you with excellent work. And her work is your rest!

Over time, food scraps, dirt, grease and other debris accumulate in the cavity of the dishwasher, which must be removed. No matter how paradoxical it may sound, but the technique will last you longer if you use it regularly. It is not recommended to clean the cutlery several times a month in order to save on electricity, detergents and water. You need to turn on the device at least 1 time in 2-3 days so that excess formations do not accumulate in nodes and assemblies.

Dishwasher cleaning technology

It is not necessary to call a specialist to clean the dishwasher. You can carry out the procedure yourself, strictly following the instructions.

Unplug the device from the socket, turn to "0" all functions and programs.

Step #1. Cleaning the filter and grill
Processing equipment begins with cleaning the strainer. It is this component that must be washed out once every 5-7 days, since the device passes fat and leftovers through itself, absorbing them like a sponge. If the recommendations are not followed, an unpleasant odor is emitted from the dishwasher.

Owners of old equipment will have to unscrew the filter with a wrench or screwdriver. If the dishwasher is relatively new, the component can be removed without additional effort.

When you take out the filter, wash it under running warm water using a thick dishwashing liquid. If necessary, clean with an old toothbrush or iron sponge. At the end of all manipulations, dry the unit and install it in place. Wash the grate located in the area of drainage in the same way.

Step #2. Blade cleaning
Check rocker arms and impeller for dirt. The frequency of cleaning is not regulated by anything, process as needed. Remove the blades one by one, wash them with dish detergent, and clean the holes with a toothpick or wire.

Important!
If you find large food residues in the cavity that interfere with the free flow of fluid, remove them with tweezers. Pull the trash out, don't try to push it in.

At the end of processing, install the components in place, make sure that nothing interferes with their rotation. In cases where this item is not observed, wash the mounting axle.

Step #3. Cleaning the seals
The greatest accumulation of dirt occurs at the junction of the door with the body of the device. With improper care, the machine begins to emit an unpleasant odor due to the fact that dirt eats into the structure of the rubber seals.

Soak a foam sponge in dishwashing liquid, walk over the surface. If the fat is not cleaned, prepare a slurry of water and soda, apply the composition, wait 10 minutes, remove the residue with a toothbrush.

Important!
Regular cleaning of the seals will prevent the dishwasher from leaking. Cleaning must be carried out once every 4-6 months, if desired, purchase a product designed specifically for such units.

Step number 4. Clearing the Recycle Bin and Dead Zone
Take out the plastic baskets, place them in the sink or tub. Apply dishwashing detergent to the sponge, spread it over the cavity, wait a quarter of an hour. At the end of the period, rub with a brush, rinse with hot water and dry with a towel.

The dishwasher has a so-called dead zone, which is located at the bottom of the door. Water does not flow into this area, but food debris and foreign debris accumulate. Clean the cavity with a brush and any product in the form of a gel.

Step number 5. Finishing
After processing all cavities and aggregates, wipe the machine dry. To avoid further development of an unpleasant odor, use lemon juice. Squeeze out the liquid from 2-3 fruits, moisten a cosmetic swab, treat the chamber with the resulting composition, leave for 15 minutes. If streaks remain, wash them off with a damp cotton cloth. Leave the machine to dry, do not close the door.

Visible contaminants include grease, mold and rust.

Mold is removed using industrial bleach, but the process itself is extremely unfavorable for stainless steel parts and assemblies. For this reason, it is highly recommended not to run the equipment to such a deplorable state. However, if this fact is the case, proceed with the procedure. Put on goggles and gloves, spread bleach in the form of a gel on a rubber sponge, wipe all areas affected by the fungus. Remove residues with water, wash the machine with dish soap.

Important!
Dry the PMM after each use by leaving the appliance door open.

After a certain time, the painted baskets may begin to “peel off”, as a result of which the bare iron is oxidized. A special anti-corrosion compound will help eliminate rust. Treat the chamber and units with it according to the instructions. To save yourself from such a problem in the future, update the coating with sealant and install a water filter on the inlet, which will prevent the large amount of iron entering through rusty pipes from entering.

Scale is the enemy of all household appliances, including PMM. In the process of using the equipment, scale accumulates on the heating units, which makes the machine work at an accelerated pace.

You can use a solution or powder for descaling dishwashers, which is sold in specialized stores. Act according to the instructions, do not violate the proportions and exposure time.

In addition to cleaning products, you can remove scale with the help of folk remedies such as vinegar, borax and citric acid.

  1. Vinegar. To begin with, turn on the device for a full wash with the addition of a special tool for PMM, wait until the end of the program. To get rid of scale, use a 9% vinegar solution, not essence. Pull out the basket, pour 400-450 ml into the bottom. vinegar, turn on the appliance to heat up. When the temperature of the liquid rises, pause the technique, wait at least 40-60 minutes (if possible, leave the sink in the middle for 6-8 hours). After the time has elapsed, turn on the machine, complete the program.
  2. Bura. Purchase sodium borate at a pharmacy, dilute a small amount of powder with water, soak a sponge in it and thoroughly wipe the chamber, working cavities, seals, etc. Next, dilute sodium borate with water in a ratio of 1:5, pour the resulting solution into the machine compartment. After that, turn on the device for a normal wash, wait for the cycle to complete.
  3. Lemon acid. The composition is considered universal: the loose mixture removes not only scale, but also rust, grease, mold, and foreign inclusions. A visual inspection of the machine will help to correctly determine the required amount of citric acid. If the scale is within the minimum or average mark, take 200-300 gr. In cases where the indicator is too high, 300-400 gr. Pour citric acid into the detergent drawer, run an intensive wash cycle, wait until the end of the program. After that, carry out another rinse, but without using any means.

"Antinakipin"
After descaling using one of the selected methods, make sure that the machine is well protected. For preventive purposes, you need to use the Antinakipin product, which is sold in hardware stores. The composition is available in the form of a gel, it is used according to the instructions during washing dishes. If your PMM has a water softening function, turn it on in the background.

  2. "The finish". The next manufacturer producing cleaners for PMM. The advantage of this tool is considered to be its high efficiency and economy. One application is enough to clean appliances for a month ahead (the frequency varies from 1-2 times in 40 washing cycles). The composition is available in bottles of 250 ml. The cleaning method is quite simple: take out all the dishes, remove the sticker from the bottle, place it in the cutlery basket, start the machine.
