Beautiful cones-candlesticks made of natural cones and ... newspapers

First, prepare a form for the candle from a newspaper, cream and PVA glue. Lubricate the candle with cream (sparsely), and we will put pieces of newspapers in layers, gluing them to the PVA. Let each layer dry. We will try to make the bottom thicker at the base of the future cone. As soon as the papier-mâché dries, remove the candle and glue the scales from real cones to the newspaper base with hot glue, starting from the bottom. Do not worry, they are not difficult to separate from the bumps with ordinary scissors. At the end of the work, we will smear the tips of the tongues of the bumps with PVA glue and sprinkle them with sparkles.

Chic candlesticks are also made from salt dough: they take the shape of a house or are made on a plane.

First, the dough is rolled out to a thickness of 0.8-1 cm, then, according to the scheme or template, the shape of each wall is cut out on it separately. On each wall and roof, manually using improvised means, bricks, doors, and windows are cut. In the roof, be sure to leave a place for smoke to escape or make a chimney separately, and then attach it to the roof. As soon as the components dry out, they are assembled together and glued with Titanium glue or paste glue. You can first smear the joints with dough, thereby not disturbing the "laying" of the brick. All that's left is the painting step.

How to make candlesticks from glasses for the New Year 2018

With a glass, I outline a circle of the desired diameter.

I cut out the base with a clerical knife.

If the animal figurine you are using requires additional decor, then do it right away. I additionally fix a Christmas ball on my dog.

I glue the dog figurine on the foam base using hot glue. I decorate with a spruce branch and a bow of gold ribbon with rhinestones.

I insert the composition into an inverted glass goblet.

Why is it good to use foam for the base? It is soft, obedient and fits snugly against the walls of the glass. Due to this, it does not fall out, you can even not fix it additionally if you want to save the glass. I glue the base around the entire circumference of the glass with hot glue.

My decorative New Year's candlestick is ready. Similarly, you can make a candlestick with figurines of any other animals or bright elements of New Year's decor.

It can be a Christmas tree, cones or small Christmas balls. By the way, you can also do it yourself. 🙂

Types of candlesticks

An original and elegant decor for a holiday can be built from a variety of different materials, embodying any of the most daring ideas. What can be New Year's candlesticks:

  1. From glass. Clear glass candle holders are the simplest standard decor option. They will personally fit into any style, especially suitable for Minimalism or Loft. To create such a decoration, it is enough to take a transparent vase, wine glass, glass or glass stand, place a candle of any color suitable in size inside. Don't forget to put some melted wax on the bottom to secure the candle well. By placing candlesticks on a windowsill or a ceremonial table, you will create a unique fairy-tale atmosphere.
  2. Transparent glass with trim. This option is more complicated than the previous one, since here we will decorate ordinary glassware or jars with festive decor. It can be lace, ribbons, sequins, braid, bows or patterns. You can also cut out figures from plain paper and glue on glass. Keep your decor away from the edge of the jar to avoid fire.
  3. From mounting foam. Candlesticks can be made with your own hands for the new year and from polyurethane foam. We need old items in the form of small containers that need to be finished with foam on the outside. We let the structures dry for a day, at the end you can cut off the excess with an ordinary knife, giving the candlestick the desired shape. Then you can paint the resulting decoration in any color or decorate with sparkles, glitter, pebbles and bows.
  4. Gingerbread. This option is suitable for those who love to bake. Candlestick cookies are an original solution that can give even more home comfort. You can bake gingerbread cookies or gingerbread in the form of stars, houses, various animals or snowmen. You can decorate such a candlestick with food coloring, glaze.
  5. From branches. This decor is suitable for rustic style, Country and Eco. You can use small twigs, brushwood, hay and pieces of logs. We collect a bundle of any size and shape, decorate with cinnamon sticks, tangerine peel, ribbons, berries or small New Year's toys. Candles in this design must be installed on metal stands so that the festive decoration does not catch fire. Stands can be cut out of cans on their own, it is better to mark candles short and stable.
  6. Snow covered. Candlesticks can be made with your own hands for the new year, using painting. We will need acrylic paints, brushes and a transparent glass container. First you need to degrease the jar, and then proceed to create a New Year's drawing. You can depict snow-white houses on a blue background, snowmen or a beautiful Christmas tree. On the neck, you can create an imitation of icicles with glue or wax. Also, glitter, pieces of cotton wool or beads can become decorations.
  7. From needles. Here you can use New Year's wreaths as a frame, place coniferous branches inside and place stable candles for reconciliation. You can decorate with multi-colored ropes, ribbons or beads.
  8. Citrus. Use tangerine or orange zest and cut additional holes in it. Try to carefully remove the zest so that you can easily place the candle. A dried slice of orange, cloves, cinnamon sticks and star anise can serve as a decoration. This decor will give a unique citrus aroma, reminiscent of the upcoming holiday.
  9. Floating lights. To do this, we need a wide beautiful container where you need to pour water and place small candles. This design is suitable for creating a romantic and mysterious atmosphere in the room. Outside, such a plate or vase can be decorated with tinsel, ribbons or beads using glue.
  10. Country style. The photo below shows how to make such candlesticks with your own hands for the new year. This design will give a feeling of closeness with nature, make the atmosphere in the apartment cozy and comfortable. To create such a candlestick, we need ordinary thick candles and thick ropes. We wrap the ropes around the candle, first apply a layer of glue to it. You can decorate this design with small cones, sprigs of needles, clusters of mountain ash or beads.
  11. Festive tin can. In a jar, you can cut out any pattern and ornament using a sharp clerical knife. From above, we cover the future candlestick with a layer of acrylic paint, you can additionally glue the handle to make a festive lantern.
  12. Decorate candles. A candlestick can also be created using coffee beans, dried berries, beads or nuts. To do this, we only need a small glass or metal stand where we place the candle.
From below we fix all the decoration with glue and let it dry. It turns out something like a New Year's application.

Unusual ideas

With the help of modern fresh ideas, you can create candlesticks for every taste with your own hands. Here are the original ones:

  • From plastic. Candlesticks can be made from a plastic jar or bottle with your own hands, which is just right for the new year. We cut off the upper part from a plastic jar or bottle, at the bottom you can cut out petals, a beautiful ornament or lace. We paint the container with a dense layer of acrylic paint, decorate with glitter or beads.
  • Glass lantern. We will need an ordinary glass jar, paint and masking tape. We cut out any figure from the masking tape (star, heart, deer, snowman, etc.), glue it on a jar, paint on top with a dense layer of thick paint. When the paint is completely dry, carefully remove the masking tape, place the candle inside, and the New Year's lantern is ready.
  • In the form of angels. Figurines of angels must be made of thick paper, covering such beauty on top with paint from a spray can of golden or silver color. Paper angels can be created in different sizes and shapes, and candles are suitable for both ordinary and safe LEDs.
  • Paper cones. To create such a candlestick, we use multi-colored thick paper sheets. On paper, we mark the fold lines of the cone with a pencil, draw figures of Christmas trees, stars or hearts at the same distance, make cuts without finishing. Then we twist the sheet of paper into a tube and fix the edges with glue. Creating candlesticks with your own hands for the new year is shown below in the video master class.
  • Dot perforation. You can decorate a New Year's candlestick not only with curly cuts on paper, but also with small punctures. Thus, you can create any pattern and depict any pattern. In this case, carnations, a sharp awl or thick needles are used. On thick paper, first we outline the boundaries of the future pattern, make holes, and then turn it into a cone. Here, by the way, figures of Santa Claus, snowflakes, deer, stars or dogs will come in handy. Sometimes such candlesticks are made in the form of a house, depicting a roof and snow-covered windows. It makes a very nice Christmas present.
  • Quilling. This technique involves the creation of paper twists of various shapes and sizes. To create such a candlestick, you will need multi-colored paper, cut into thin strips. We wrap thin pencils, pens or toothpicks in stripes. Then we place the resulting spirals inside small cones-blanks, give them any shape with our fingers (for example, pointed petals) and fix with glue. We glue such twists together, creating a small circle. You can use elements of different sizes and colors, arranging them with each other. We use beads and sparkles as decoration, put a candle in the middle and an elegant quilling candlestick is ready.
  • CDs. Candlesticks can also be made from disks with your own hands; such a decoration for the new year is suitable for Hi-Tech, Futurism, Modern or Loft style. To implement this idea, we need several CDs, glue and New Year's holiday decor of your choice (twigs, sparkles, artificial snow, ribbons, beads, etc.). We place a candle on the disk, fix it with glue or wax, around the candle around the perimeter of the disk we begin to glue the decor.
  • Knitted decor. This design is suitable for crochet lovers. Use a star or snowflake template. It turns out an original candlestick in the style of Hand-Made, which can be presented as a New Year's gift.
  • Cinnamon frame. Use cinnamon sticks to create a New Year's candlestick. To do this, simply glue the cinnamon to each other in a circle, place the stand with the candle inside, and the candlestick is ready. Outside, the sticks can be decorated with strings and a bow, dried berries, star anise or cloves can be glued. You can also cut out figures from orange peel or glue dried slices of tangerine or orange. This option looks simple and not pretentious, but it gives a unique aroma and a sense of an approaching fairy tale.
  • A simple technique for sculpting from ordinary dough. You can create holiday candlesticks from salt dough with your own hands, this is a great New Year's gift for friends and family. Knead the dough (flour, sunflower oil, salt, soda, water) and gently roll out. Now it remains to cut out the New Year's figures, you can use templates or cut by eye. To prevent the dough from breaking and cutting easily, do not forget to periodically moisten it with water. We put a small candle in the center of the resulting figure and press lightly to create a notch. Then we leave the dough candlesticks to dry on the windowsill, after which they can be painted in any color. Artificial snow, beads, sparkles are used as decor, and you can also draw a beautiful ornament or patterns yourself.
  • Country option. If you are decorating a country house or apartment in an American or Country style, you can use a wooden snag or log as a candlestick. In skillful hands, even these items will acquire a beautiful shape and become an excellent addition to the interior. Small recesses can be made in them, where small candles are later placed. As a decor, use spruce twigs, Christmas decorations or beads. This design will create a warm atmosphere of home comfort. In this case, even an ordinary snag can become a work of art, and everyone can make such candlesticks for the new year with their own hands.
  • From sea salt. Sea salt crafts are very popular when creating New Year's decor, as they resemble snow-white snowdrifts and ice crystals. To create a candlestick, it will be enough to paste over any container for a candle with sea salt. At the same time, you can turn on the fantasy by creating various New Year's figurines or icicles. Salt can also be poured into a transparent jar and inserted into several long candles. So it will look like the candles are placed in a small snowdrift. You can decorate such a candlestick from the outside with ribbons, cones or beautiful painting.
  • Glasses on legs. Glass goblets are also suitable for creating festive candlesticks. Outside, the container is decorated with green fir branches, artificial snow from a can, and sparkles. Inside you can put tinsel or a small LED garland. Sometimes inverted glasses are used, and candles are placed on top of the legs. It turns out the so-called dome at the bottom, under which you can create a beautiful decorative festive composition. For this, cones, berries, New Year's toys, glitter, tinsel fringe, origami, ribbons or coniferous needles are used. How to create beautiful candlesticks with your own hands for the new year from glasses is shown in the photo.

How to make a New Year's candlestick with your own hands step by step with a photo?

For the base of the candlestick, we prepared a small glass mini-jar of baby food with a volume of 0.080 liters. We remove the lid - we will no longer need it. Next, we create an unusual texture on the outer surface of the jar using sea salt. To do this, carefully paint over the walls of the jar with PVA glue,

leave the applied glue for 2-3 minutes so that the glue becomes more viscous,

and then sprinkle these areas with sea salt.

As for the size of the crystals, salt of medium and large fractions is better suited to get multiple beautiful refraction of light.

To avoid bald spots, repeat the procedure again. After that, the texture of the candlestick will become more dense and uniform.

For the most decorative look, we also decorate the neck of the jar with large crystals of sea salt.

The base of the candlestick is ready, now you can start decorating it.

We fold the segment of the twine in half, tie the neck of the can with it, and form a bow from the tips. Cut off the excess cord.

Glue spruce branches to the bottom of the bow.

So that they do not crumble and last as long as possible, they can be treated with acrylic varnish, and then dried thoroughly. You can also use artificial branches. We decorate the center of the composition with several artificial bright red berries or beads.

We complement the middle of the bow with a miniature star made of tangerine peel.

As you can see, I decided to tightly pack this article with candlestick crafts for every taste - for children and adults. Therefore, you can find here crafts for kids and ideas for serious adult candlestick gifts for the New Year. Let's start making beautiful New Year's candles with our own hands.

Candlestick from bushings

from toilet paper.

Here is our first chic New Year's candlestick made in the form of a star. It seems to be something factory bought in a store. And in fact it is possible do it yourself at home with kids. Such a star candlestick is made of cardboard, rolled into rolls. That is, we need to roll rolls from cardboard (or take toilet paper rolls). We'll need 7 rolls and one paper round(a disposable paper plate will do).

And now I will tell HOW TO make such a New Year's candlestick.

HOW TO MAKE SUCH A STAR CANDLESTICK with your own hands.

STEP 1 - The bottom line is that each ray of a star is a roll, which at one end flattened TOP-DOWN, and from the other end flattened LEFT-RIGHT. fix the place of flattening with a stapler or glue. As a result, we get a volumetric beam of the future star. We make such rays 6 pieces. D

STEP 2 - Next, we take a circle of paper (or a paper plate), the diameter of the circle should be such that all the rays of the star fit on it in a circle. We put them with a flat flattened side on the edge of the round (plate). Glue all the rays on the edge of the plate.

STEP 3 - Now we take 7th roll of cardboard and it must be glued to the center of the plate. To make it stick, cut the desired end of the roll into short and wide fringe- move apart the rays of the fringe built-in (into the sun-spread) - and glue it to the center of the paper round with this spread on the glue.

STEP 4 - Further take a can of gold paint(or gold acrylic paint in a jar) and cover the entire surface of the craft with gold. Paint can be bought at an auto shop, or in the construction department of the market (costs $ 3-5). Acrylic gold paint in a jar costs 3-4 dollars.

And if you want to get blurs, smudges and frozen drops on the surface of the craft, the same as in the photo - then before painting you need to apply to the craft hot glue from a glue gun and let him randomly cover the surface of the cardboard elements of the candlestick with zigzags and blots. And after hardening already paint. In the absence of hot glue, you can try the usual silicate stationery glue-snot from our Soviet childhood - it is also thick and also freezes with shiny voluminous droplets (only you have to wait a little longer for drying).

STEP 5 - Further - inside the central roll we stuff the newspaper- so that it is not empty - but do not stuff it to the brim, but leave a recess in which the candle-tablet will become. And then on this rammed newspaper inside the roll we put a CANDLE-PILL.

STEP 6 - And only decorate the rest of the surface of the round (plate) cones, balls, beads, shiny garlands and other New Year's tinsel.

As you can see, a simple photograph - if you look at it carefully, it will tell you how to do the same with your own hands.

Christmas candlesticks

ANGELS.

We make such angels from ordinary white paper. And then we cover the entire craft with gold paint from a spray can. Spray cans of paint are sold at any hardware store or automotive supply store - they are not very expensive (about $ 3-5).

You can make such an angel craft with your children. From a paper cone. So that the craft does not catch fire from the flame of a candle, we will make this lamp without live fire, but place an ordinary New Year's luminous garland inside the cone. It will turn out a children's gift-candlestick for grandfather or grandmother - they will be happy to light it in the evenings on New Year's days for more than one year.

Candlesticks made of paper WITH SLOTS.

From an ordinary paper sheet twisted into a tube, you can make an elegant New Year's candlestick. The paper will not catch fire because the hot air from the candle freely exits into the socket of such a paper lampshade-candlestick.

And if you are afraid for fire safety, then you can put a tall glass cup inside such a paper roll and put a candle into it.

By the way, to light a low tablet candle AT THE BOTTOM OF A HIGH glass you can use the usual spaghetti pasta. They are long and burn well - we set fire to such a spaghetti torch and calmly lower it to the candle wick at the bottom of the candlestick. Very comfortably.

Here is a master class below, which shows step by step a master class for making such candlesticks with slots - just in the New Year theme: with Christmas trees and stars.

First, cut a piece of paper with height below the height of the glass and with width, sufficient to wrap around the circumference of the glass and overlap the edges for gluing.

On a sheet of paper, draw the lines of the borders of the axial rod of the picture. At the same distance from each other.

On both sides of the drawn borders, draw the outlines of Christmas trees and stars.

We make cuts along the drawn Christmas trees, but do not reach the center lines of the borders with scissors.

Paper candlesticks

WITH PERFORATION.

It is possible to make not cuts, but punctures on the same roll of paper. Such a perforation can be filled with an ordinary nail - if a sheet of paper is placed on a semi-solid surface (for example, a sheet of foam plastic) and simply driven into the nail with a hammer at the points drawn in advance. So I made a candlestick with a snowflake in the photo below with my own hands.

You can wrap the glass so that the puncture marks are not visible from the outside. And make sure that the perforation was with holes of different sizes. To do this, we take nails of different diameters in cross section. With thick nails we will get large holes, with thin ones smaller.

The main thing is to think in advance and draw with a pencil our pattern of large and small dots on the future New Year's lamp.

And it is not necessary to make only a pattern of snowflakes. You can, according to the same principle, chop the silhouette of a Christmas tree, a deer, a snowman, Santa Claus and other New Year's characters.

You can fold a paper sheet not with a round roll, but with a tetrahedral socket. And decorate each of the four faces-sides with the same white New Year's application.

The reverse side of each hole must be sealed with cigarette paper (translucent tracing paper, or oiled white paper) - that is, the material that will transmit light. Very beautiful and delicate lamps for the new year.

So that such a craft does not ignite from the flame of a candle, the top must be left without a roof. Or, instead of a candle, put an LED Christmas tree garland inside. It will turn out a beautiful candlestick-gift - and a garland and a lampshade with delicate paper carvings.

You can cut paper blanks in the shape of a house. In the same way, fix the openings of the cut windows and doors of the houses with tracing paper or oiled paper.

Christmas candlesticks

IN THE QUILLING TECHNIQUE.

You can make candle holders from paper twists made using the quilling technique. Consider how to make such a candlestick with your own hands - using the example of a blue New Year's candlestick from the photo below.

STEP 1 - To do this, colored double-sided paper is cut into narrow strips. Each strip is wound around a rod (or toothpick).

Then this twist is removed from the toothpick and placed inside a round stencil-hole on a geometric ruler - and inside the boundaries of this stencil, the twist is allowed to unwind - up to the size of the stencil hole.

STEP 2 - Next, we take out the promotion from the stencil and glue its tail to the twist barrel. We make a lot of such modules - two sizes larger and smaller (that is, we fit some to a small stencil hole, and others to a large stencil hole on a regular geometric ruler).

STEP 4 - And now we make and glue the candlestick - we take a round candle and a pill and glue small round twists on its side. Next, around this first round dance of round modules, we lay drop-shaped large twists - so that they are light in pairs, forming a heart shape.

You can give such a New Year's quilling candlestick a shape with sides. If you lay the modules on a small paper plate with raised edges, or a jar lid.

From quilling twist modules, you can come up with any designs of New Year's candlesticks. In the form of a snowflake, New Year's Christmas wreath.

And as a simple do-it-yourself candlestick, you can use an ordinary voluminous paper snowflake. Cut out and place under the candle-tablet.

Candlesticks for the New Year

crocheted.

And here is a way to create a candlestick for those who know how to crochet. To do this, you can take any pattern of a knitted snowflake or a knitted star.

You will find many patterns of knitted snowflakes in my article.

Candlestick

from a plastic bottle.

And the most free material for a New Year's candlestick is an ordinary plastic bottle. We throw them away anyway, so why not turn them into Christmas lights.

Cut off the straight central part from the bottle. On one side of the pipe, cut pointed petals. And bend them to the side. Paint the lamp in a golden sparse color. Apply star stickers. Spread the edges of the petals with glue and sprinkle with silver sprinkles - you can make it yourself if you finely cut the shiny pile from a fluffy Christmas tree garland, or cut the Christmas tree rain.

You can come up with your own candlesticks from a bottle - of any shape and complement them with any decor - bright ribbon rims, snowflakes, colored glass pebbles, etc.

New Year's candlestick

from a glass jar.

The simplest candlestick from a jar is made quickly and simply with your own hands. From the masking tape (which we paste over the windows for the winter), cut out a silhouette, for example, of a star. Stick it on the side of the jar, and paint over the rest of the surface of the jar with gouache (white is best). So that the gouache after drying does not stick to the hands and does not stain the clothes, spray the painted jar on top with hairspray. Next, we remove our star sticker from the masking tape and get a ready-made New Year's candlestick made by ourselves.

Sticker silhouette can be perfect any - a snowman, a penguin, a snowflake, or just such a deer with branched horns.

Also, the border of our drawing can be decorated with sprinkles, for this we apply a cream along the edge of the silhouette and pour a shiny sprinkle on top of it (I described what to make it from in the previous candlestick).

You can buy gold-colored acrylic paint in stationery and circle the border of the silhouette-hole on the candlestick with a current brush. And even on the silhouette itself, make some kind of festive inscription. It turns out a bright jar-candlestick - and by the way, you can pour white beans on its bottom and drown a candle in it.

It is possible to implement the principle of a silhouette hole on a candlestick bank not with paint, but with paper. That is, cut out the desired picture on a strip of paper in advance and wrap a candlestick jar with such paper. As in the photo with the New Year's crafts below.

You can seal the entire surface of the jar with green pieces of napkin (buy green paper napkins, or green crepe paper), it is thin and fits the smooth curves of the jar well.
It’s easy to use glue - on PVA glue - moreover, it’s better not to make a small tube in stationery, but to go to a hardware store and immediately buy a half-liter can of PVA - you will succeed 4 times cheaper. I do all crafts with children with such glue. It lasts for a long time and it is always fresh, and in jars it constantly dries up.

So ... we cover the jar with PVA glue and put chopped pieces of green paper on top of it - due to the fact that the pieces will overlap each other, we will get such a chipped polygonal green pattern. And then, to make all this green chaos New Year's recognition, we simply paint here and there with paint (or glue from red paper) circles of holly berries.

The same red balls of berries will decorate our next New Year's candlestick. Here we cover all the walls of the can with a scattering of snow. We make it from ordinary salt or sugar (or finely grated styrofoam)

We cover the walls of the jar with glue and roll in white sprinkles on the table. We dry it with a rope under which a green twig (for example, a spruce paw) or a green tie of a textile ribbon is inserted. And in the middle we fix a bunch of berries. It can be beads strung on wire and painted in red gouache (or nail polish). Can beads mold from plasticine and top them off with nail polish for shine and color. Or you can take large foam balls.

If you are good at drawing, you can simply draw a New Year's drawing on the side of a glass jar and you will get a smart candlestick. Inside the jar, you can put not a candle, but put a New Year's LED garland - and then the jar will sparkle with several lights at once.

You can find ideas for New Year's drawings on a jar in my article.

And the New Year-themed silhouette can be simply APPLIED on the surface of the jar - as a decorative appliqué. Such an application can be easily and quickly done at home - find suitable pictures on the Internet and cut out the necessary silhouettes from colored paper.

you also can copy directly from this screen deer silhouette. Just put a sheet of paper on the screen and circle the picture translucent on the sheet with a pencil. To reduce or enlarge the picture on the screen, simply roll the mouse wheel forward or backward, holding kropkactrl on your keyboard.

Multi-layer applications on a glass candlestick look beautiful.

You can come up with a silhouette application that will GIRL around the entire jar along its circumference.

Small details of the application can not be cut out of paper, but drawn with a black marker. The candlestick jar itself, before pasting with such an application, can be painted blue (with a foam rubber sponge and blue gouache mixed with white).

Silhouettes can be cut out of white paper. It turns out a light and delicate decorative candlestick from a tall glass.

Christmas candlesticks

FROM GLASSES.

Also, excellent candlesticks for the New Year are obtained from glass goblets with legs.

The very capacity of the glass can be decorated inside with sprigs of evergreen shrubs (for example, fir). Instead of candles inside tall large glasses-vases, you can put a New Year's garland with LED lanterns and mix the garland with Christmas toys, cones, glass beads.

Ideal candlesticks for low tablet candles and thick keg candles- These are overturned goblets. FROM the flat base of the leg serves as a convenient stand for stable candles.

Under the dome of an upturned glass we place New Year's decorations - these can be holly branches, silver cones, needles paws or multi-colored glass beads.

Small decor at all no need to painstakingly slip under the glass- just pour glasses into the bowl, cover with cardboard, turn the glass down with the bowl and stick out the cardboard from under it.

The stem of the glass, as well as the metal walls of the tablet candles, can be silvered or gilded with sprinkles. It's easy to do at home - smear with glue and sprinkle with glitter(if you use PVA glue, then it can be easily washed off with hot water). Or use Polish for hair- quickly spray and quickly sprinkle with glitter, sprinkle again on top.

You can buy ready-made glitter for sprinkling nails or cut the fringe of a shiny fluffy Christmas tree garland into small cuts yourself.

Candle sides you can also decorate glitter sprinkle. To do this, sprinkle the topping on paper. CANDLES heating over a gas stove and the candle that has softened from the heat is quickly rolled over the sparkling filling - the soft sticky wax absorbs the sparkles, and the candle becomes elegant and New Year's.

The color of sparkles for the candle is best matched to the color of the decorations under the dome of the glass (as in the photo below).

Under the dome of the glass, you can arrange a real piece of a New Year's fairy tale (as in the photo with candlesticks below). It's easy to do it yourself - on round piece of white cardboard(or foam) glued Christmas tree(purchased or made of paper or plasticine) - we put a snowman next to it or figurine of another New Year's character. Pour with glue, and sprinkle with white salt imitating snow. We cover this round craft with an inverted glass. It turns out a magical New Year's candlestick.

You can paint New Year's candlestick glasses in winter shades of paint and decorate with cones and snowflakes (paper or purchased).

In order to paint a glass at home as evenly as in the photo with candlesticks below, you need to use not a brush, but a foam rubber sponge with small pores (preferably a sponge for applying foundation). Such a sponge can convey a uniform overflow of color from light to dark.
I described a detailed master class of this process when I painted my nails in the same technique in the article Gradient manicure.

You can paint any New Year character on a glass with paints - and we will get bright candlesticks in the form of snowmen, or Santa Clauses or deer.

Or the glasses can not be turned over. And lower candles-pills into them on special brackets-hooks.

Such staples can be twisted independently at home from flexible copper or aluminum wire. Here is such a do-it-yourself work just presented in the photo below.

You can hang a candle-tablet on brackets inside a very high vessel - and then the bottom of the vessel can become a place for a decorative composition (as in the photo of the New Year's candlestick below).

Christmas candlesticks

WITH FLOATING CANDLES.

Also, candles can not be hung inside the container, but lowered into the water. To do this, the shape of the candles should be cone-shaped or rounded at the bottom. This way they will float comfortably on the water.

Such floating candles can be found on sale and bought. Or do it yourself - break the candle, remove the wick from it. Put the pieces of wax in a saucepan over low heat (or in a water bath), melt the wax to a liquid state. Lower the wick into a mold with a round or cone-shaped bottom - pour the wick with liquid wax - cool until the wax is completely hardened in the mold. Remove the candle from the mold, slightly heating the walls of the mold.

Or you can not mess with liquid wax. And immediately cut out the cone bottom from a solid thick candle with an ordinary knife (work as a sculptor).

Christmas compositions with candles.

You can use a wide stand as a candlestick - a dish or a vase, and put several candles at once on such a candlestick, alternating them with New Year's decorations.

In the stand, you can pour artificial snow or plain white salt, sugar, powder.

As a New Year's stand-candlestick, you can use the usual low wooden box for seedlings. And decorate it with natural material (moss, cones, spruce legs).

The body of the candlestick can be an ordinary wooden log. We drill large holes in it, where we insert tablet candles (or sections of thick candles).

And you can also bake a candlestick from edible gingerbread honey dough. That is, bake a round gingerbread with holes for tablet candles. And bake smaller gingerbread cookies for him with the shape of houses, Christmas trees, trees. Gingerbread houses are decorated with a pattern of sugar glaze, dried. We also pour a large gingerbread candlestick with sweet sugar icing and put gingerbread houses on the sticky icing.

Gingerbread dough is different in that it does not get stale for a long time, and such a sweet candlestick gift can be devoured by the whole family after the New Year holidays have died down.

You can find the correct recipe for gingerbread dough in the article about gingerbread houses.

These are the ideas with New Year's candlesticks you can now do with your own hands. It's nice when you can create a piece of the New Year holiday around yourself.

Connect the kids- they will be very pleased to help you in such a serious matter as the New Year. Children should create crafts with their own hands - this is a prerequisite for the development of a personality confident in their strengths and abilities. Children should have an EVIDENCE BASE of their omnipotence and success. Let the children make sure in practice that they CAN make such beautiful and complex crafts themselves. Let them grow, realizing themselves as CREATORS of this world. And then one day you can be proud of their ADULTS achievements.

Happy New Year to you. May happiness enter your family. The magic of happiness, made by hand. And let the light of the candles give its radiance to your eyes.
