How to make a dressing room with your own hands, expert advice. We equip a dressing room - in the pantry and cabinet: options, layout rules, drawings Shelves in the dressing room made of chrome pipes

The decision on a convenient, competent arrangement of things is the main part of putting things in order in an apartment or house. It is always pleasant to be in a clean, not cluttered room, where it is easy to breathe, nothing superfluous is lying around.

Beautiful dressing room.

The table is not littered with newspapers and books, things do not fall out of the cabinets on your head. The shelves are not cluttered with unnecessary trifles. For a constant order in the house and ease of cleaning, follow the basic storage rules:

 • Go through the entire wardrobe of all family members, throw away things that you have not used for a long time. Excess trash creates a mess, even in a large room.

If you got a thing that you haven’t worn for a year or more, get rid of it right away, you definitely won’t wear it!

 • When you deal with superfluous, unnecessary things, determine their purpose and distribute them among the rooms.
 • Now determine how often you use the thing, its place in the closet or wardrobe will depend on this.

Is there a need for a dressing room

Dressing room in the bedroom.

Built-in wardrobes have gained popularity. And if you think about it, this is a worthwhile undertaking. Things are distributed in places, everything is at hand, conveniently folded. With such an organization, clothes last longer and serve, do not wrinkle, all items are visible in their drawers and compartments. Large furniture does not occupy valuable square meters, the room is freer and more spacious. True, for a rational layout of the dressing room, competent filling with the necessary functional equipment and modules for convenience will be required. In addition to placing clothes, there is a place for sports equipment, household items.

Choosing a place for a dressing room

We determine the place for the future locker room: in new buildings and apartments, such a place is provided in advance, it remains to choose the configuration and content of the room.

Convenient wardrobe room.

But what to do if such a room is not provided, how then to be, how to equip a dressing room? Then you need to use the services of a master, a furniture designer who will help you choose the “right” content for a small room and manage every piece of space with benefit.

Take care of the availability of outlets in the dressing room!

To block the space and put a sliding door, provide filling and lighting, this option will work if you can allocate at least 1 meter of depth for the dressing room.

Built-in wardrobe in the bedroom.

The location of the dressing room in the corner of the room is another layout option, the door is located diagonally and the room does not visually look reduced.

Options for the location of the dressing room under the stairs and in the attic can be successful and interesting.

Large dressing room convenient location.

Choosing a project for a dressing room

Based on the area and shape of the room, we are planning a future “smart” closet. The layout can be L-shaped, U-shaped, linear, trapezoidal and pentagonal. The area of the received space is from 2 sq.m. and more. If this is a dedicated room, its dimensions are 20-30 sq.m.

Large dressing room.

Dressing room along the wall

Easy to build system - linear, location along the wall. With the help of a plasterboard partition, a utility room is mounted.

The device wardrobe linear type.

The main requirement is that it should not be too long to avoid a long search for the right thing. Although if you design such a utility room taking into account all the nuances, you can get convenient shelves for sports equipment, household items (vacuum cleaner, buckets, cans, travel suitcases, etc.)

On the upper shelves are those items that are not required daily. It does not hurt to think about the presence of a ladder for the upper shelves.

Corner wardrobe device

In an apartment with a small area, a corner layout will be convenient. The area is 3-4 sq.m., while the issue of rational storage of things will be solved.

The corner dressing room in the room can be triangular - two walls and a diagonal partition and a door are involved.

Corner closet project

The trapezoidal shape is located along the wall, and the missing ones are completed from drywall, we mount a door in one of the walls.

Trapezoidal dressing room in the bedroom.

When arranging a dressing room, think over the lighting scenario, it is convenient when the lamps rotate and it is possible to direct the lighting to the shelves.

L-shaped cabinet filling is located along two walls and closes in the corner. The most common design. The mirror is placed on the back of the door, facing the dressing room.

L-shaped layout of the dressing room.

Five-walled - the most spacious layout. Due to the extended walls towards the room, the area inside expands significantly. Modules, shelves, drawers are located along four walls, and a mirror is usually fixed on the door, since a full-fledged mirror for a fitting room will not fit there. This layout is recommended for medium and large bedrooms.

Dressing room in utility room

In some apartments of the old building, and in new buildings there are storage rooms. Does your apartment have a closet? Consider yourself very lucky if you have one! Read the recommendations on how to equip a dressing room from a closet.

A do-it-yourself wardrobe room from a pantry is not difficult to get a convenient wardrobe for storing things. Storerooms are usually littered with unnecessary things and are used irrationally.

How to properly arrange everything and rationally fill the furniture for the dressing room. We will fill the existing racks with things, taking into account the frequency of their use. At the bottom we have shelves for shoes. From above, provide hangers or a row of hooks for bags, hats, belts. In the case of missing shelves, we measure the dimensions and we can order their production in a specialized store. There you can also purchase the missing modules, boxes, rods, accessories.

Dressing room under the stairs

An infrequent occurrence in an apartment is a staircase, but in a private house, if there is an attic or a second floor, then it is doable.

It is not difficult to use this space for a wardrobe, it is enough to think over which of the design options will suit you. There is an open storage system.

Block-retractable and system with hinged doors or sliding doors. In the area of the highest height, under the stairs, rods are installed for winter clothes and long ones that hang, and so, in descending height, we think over filling the closet, to the lowest for a shoe rack and all sorts of little things.

Dressing room behind the partition

You can equip a wardrobe behind a partition on your own, without involving specialists. The partition can be improvised and stationary.

An improvised partition for the dressing room.

Improvised is the use of thick curtains to separate a room. The curtain is attached to the ceiling cornice or to the bar. The screen is suitable for the bedroom, behind it you can not only arrange a dressing room, but also store bedding, with good lighting, arrange a boudoir with a mirror there. But a model with a curtain is unlikely to look appropriate in the living room.

The second option is zoning with a plasterboard wall, this model is a little more complicated and expensive, but there are no problems with the location, it is placed in any room. No permits for such a building will be required. Such a structure can be dismantled at any time.

Wardrobe in a separate room

The advantage of an individual room designed for a wardrobe is undeniable. Free planning, arranging a zone for each of the family members, equipping this room with the necessary accessories, comfortable furniture, a folding chair and a large mirror for the fitting area. It allows you to apply any filling, depending only on your wishes.

Systems for distributing things in the dressing room

The compactness of the placement of clothes, shoes, bedding for the most part depends on the design and layout of the room intended for the wardrobe. For convenient organization, functionality will need to be filled with systems for convenient storage of things, they have a lot of model options, each of them has positive and negative sides.

Convenient dressing room in the bedroom.

The main devices of the systems:

 • Modular system;
 • Mesh;
 • frame;
 • Panel;

What does the modular system and assembly principle look like? The system is developed according to your order and dimensions. Mounted along a wall or multiple walls. It consists of segments that have walls on the sides, top and bottom. All these sections are tied together. The advantages of this concept are that it is inexpensive, easy to assemble from chipboard, and looks beautiful.

The mesh system is one of the most stable, withstands heavy loads. A metal rail is mounted to one of the walls, supporting parts are attached to it, into which brackets are placed to locate the filling in the form of racks, shoe racks, trousers, etc.

Mesh arrangement system in the dressing room.

The frame system is elementary in installation, it is easy to move the segments, when using this configuration, natural air circulation is created. The frame consists of metal poles fixed at a distance between the floor and the ceiling or between two walls, the filling is attached to the main frame at the desired height.

Racks that consist of a main panel rigidly attached to one of the walls, and on it are accessories for organizing the storage of clothes and shoes, is called a panel. This system does not have partitions and side restraints. Installation allows you to hide the unevenness of the walls and other flaws, but is not a cheap pleasure and requires the use of native components for wardrobe modules, they are sold together with a decorative wall.

The number of things that can be placed in it, the convenience of placing them and the quick search for what you need depend on the correct layout in a “smart” closet.

Dressing room layout.

Long, winter clothes - provide a sufficient number of rods for hangers, the height for this compartment should be at least 150 cm.

For short clothes, shirts, blouses, jackets, etc. zone with a height of 90 cm, with a bar for hangers.

For skirts and trousers, it is convenient to use hangers with several tiers or a trouser system.

Description of structures

Types of structures are of two types - this is a classic one made of chipboard and a metal frame, consisting of modules. At the heart of the metal rails to which the necessary sections are attached. Sections are produced in specific sizes, so they complicate planning, for example, in an individual small or non-standard-sized room, but you can’t do without advantages here. The modular system has high strength and stability, durability and reliability.

Arrangement of wardrobes with a modular system.

The classic design is widely applicable, inexpensive in execution, allows you to arrange the size of your utility room, it is possible to use third-party accessories for filling: bars, trousers, laundry baskets, transformer ironing boards, etc.

Self installation

Do-it-yourself dressing room is quite a doable task. We chose the place of arrangement, we measure all the exact dimensions, we choose the layout. It is advisable to carry out a drawing diagram on which to draw the structure before performing work.

Diagram of a drawing of a dressing room with your own hands.

With the help of such a drawing, it will be easier to calculate the amount of material needed, components. The next step is the purchase and preparation of building materials. Choose the design of the door: compartment, hinged or accordion door.

Frame from a profile for the construction of a dressing room.

You will need a metal profile or a wooden beam for the frame. For walls and sheathing, OSB plywood or drywall. It is worth mentioning right away that both materials are easy to install, but in terms of environmental friendliness it is worth considering. If the dressing room is supposed to be in the bedroom, it is better to choose drywall, this material breathes, absorbs excess moisture, things will not have an unpleasant smell.

We sheathe the walls of the dressing room with drywall.

Let's start installation, for shelves it is better to use a special perforated profile, into the holes of which finished shelves and other necessary structures are inserted, it looks like shelves in stores. The profile itself (the main guides are attached to the wall. This type of construction will allow you to easily vary the height of the shelves and racks.

Another system for making a dressing room is the use of special pipes, connectors and various fasteners, all of which are now commercially available, this design is mounted quite quickly and does not require a high level of skill.

Shelves in the dressing room from drywall sheets.

Shelves for the dressing room are made of sheets of thick plywood or chipboard; for shelves made of chipboard, a solid frame is required.

We decided to make a dressing room with our own hands without attracting additional costs, use improvised materials, old furniture or parts of it. If everything turned out in discord, to make it look beautiful and carefully paint everything in one color.

The hallway is the hallmark of every apartment or private house. The room not only optimizes the living space, but also carries an aesthetic functional load. Standard furniture does not always accommodate the necessary things if the room is small.

Design of an open type hallway with a more functional content.

The dressing room has a number of advantages:

 1. Unity - the storage system takes into account the rational arrangement of all planes;
 2. Conciseness - the use of built-in modules for a small room;
 3. Profitability - the ability to save money through the use of the facade;
 4. Reconstruction of surfaces - alignment of minor irregularities.

There are also disadvantages:

 1. Lack of mobility - embedded systems cannot be moved to another location;
 2. Repair - after the completion of dismantling work, cosmetic repairs of individual sections or the entire room are carried out;
 3. The complexity of the assembly - for the arrangement of the structure requires certain knowledge and skills.

Hallway dressing room design.

Kinds

All furniture for the hallway should be as spacious and functional as possible. Drawers, containers or boxes are suitable for small accessories. Everyday things are located with easy access to them. Seasonal clothing is placed on top. High long cases are installed for shoes. Shoes and summer shoes are located on special hangers. A full-length mirror and a small, comfortable pouffe give special comfort and coziness.

corner

For rectangular corridors of a small area, the corner version of the dressing room is ideal. Rational design accommodates the things of the whole family as much as possible. The configuration in the hallway is most suitable for small apartments. Modular design implies a capacious storage system:

 • open shelves;
 • Retractable drawers;
 • Metal crossbars.

The bulkiness is significantly reduced by the mirror side, visually enlarging the room. A corner multifunctional dressing room is an alternative to a dressing room.

Corner dressing room in bright colors with a small mirror will fit perfectly into the space of a small hallway.

in a niche

A wardrobe in a niche is a budget way to place things without violating the unity of space. It is important to match the stylistic decision of the design of the house. Doors can be:

 • Swing;
 • Folding;
 • Sliding;
 • pendulum type.

As a canvas is used:

 • Wood;
 • Glass;
 • Plastic;
 • Laminated surfaces.

Dressing room design in a niche.

Glossy, reflective surfaces will help to increase the area in small hallways. The dressing room is usually quite spacious in a niche. Used as a closet and dressing area.

open type

The illusion of a spacious hallway is given by an open-type dressing room. Variation involves the location of all things in the field of view. It is necessary to maintain order. The design of the system is represented by metal or wooden dividing walls and quite capacious shelves. The top and bottom compartments are closed with doors.

Small items and things are stored in decorative containers, boxes. It is recommended to put a comfortable pouffe or a small couch along the shoe racks and with things. The dressing room involves the continuation of the room, so it does not deviate from the unity of style.

Closed

The parameters of the closed dressing room depend on the size of the hallway. In small, narrow hallways, the installation of compact options is suitable. In both cases, the main advantages are:

 • The isolation of things;
 • No dust pollution.

Cloakroom closed type hidden behind doors.

The equipped room allows you to make fittings for any occasion. Installing an ordinary mirror will turn the dressing room into a real toilet room. Proper location involves choosing a location, ventilation and lighting system.

Arrangement, filling and storage systems

Sometimes it is not advisable to use wardrobes made of solid wood, chipboard, MDF. These are too bulky options. Redesigning such structures is problematic. Metal systems are gaining popularity. Represent modules located on vertical structures. Two types of attachment:

The fastening system depends on the decision of the manufacturers. Each offers minor accommodation changes necessary.

Mobile modification systems are equipped with notches along the entire length. This allows each element to be moved independently of the other. Can be moved from row to row. The height of the shelves and the width between them are adjustable. Racks with a straight section are selected for fastening components. The grooves are cut on both sides.

Shelves and drawers are selected individually. They are made of wood, metal, plastic or other materials. Mounted on racks or pull out.

This photo shows a more diverse filling for the dressing room.

In order to save money, a dressing room is not difficult to build with your own hands. You will need round chrome furniture pipes and fasteners. The mobility of the structure will depend on the design methods.

For clothes, there are not only standard storage systems, but also interesting devices:

 • Skirt holders - straps with clips are fixed on the rails, allowing you to hang skirts and trousers evenly;
 • Hangers with crossbeams;
 • Retractable designs for ties;
 • Retractable brackets;
 • Pantograph - drop bar;
 • Wall bar.

This photo shows different options for placing clothes in the dressing room.

Shoe storage systems

The main problem may be the placement of the shoes. An abundance of couples is not easy to locate in one place. Solving the problem is within the power of typical sets of equipment for storing shoes:

 1. Practical pull-out system. Modules are located on the mobile frame;
 2. Wall mini chests of drawers or hanging organizers;
 3. Ergonomic wheel;
 4. Turntable or drawers;
 5. Hangers with clothespins for winter shoes.

A cheap and practical way to store seasonal shoes is with hooks. The mechanism is often used in stores. Hooks are attached to the mesh or perforated panel. Convenient adjustment of the distance and type of block.

Equipping the dressing room, you can find interesting fixtures among the commercial equipment. All shoe stands are designed for maximum filling in minimum space.

Registration

In the creation of expensive, luxurious dressing rooms, a natural array is used. For economical options, MDF, chipboard materials are used. Sliding doors are often wooden or made of durable glass. Storage systems in the form of baskets, boxes are usually plastic, rattan or wicker.

Dressing rooms in dark shades are suitable for spacious rooms. Bed shades are suitable for small areas. In both cases, the overall design concept of the apartment is taken into account.

With insufficient natural light or its complete absence, it is important to pay attention to artificial lighting. The ceiling chandelier does not reveal a full view of the entire storage system. Illumination of certain areas is required. LED strip and spotlights create a soft, diffused light. Competent design organizes space, creating maximum functionality and comfort of storing things.

Making a wardrobe project

Independent production of a dressing room implies advance training in the intricacies of work. It is recommended to watch the training video or study the necessary literature. This will eliminate errors during the manufacturing process.

The first step is to create a dressing room project. The scheme implements the subsequent execution of actions. How to make a dressing room in the hallway with your own hands, important points in the formation of a sketch:

 1. First, a compartment drawing is created;
 2. Data is transferred to paper or to a special program on a PC. Without sufficient experience and skills, difficulties often arise;
 3. The sizes of racks, shelves are formed. A depth not exceeding fifty centimeters is taken into account.
 4. If there are difficulties in choosing, the finished drawing is taken as the basis.
 5. The presence of doors, sizes and configurations are determined: standard, hinged, sliding types.
 6. Reliable fasteners for all elements are thought out.

The completed project contains the necessary calculations and visualization of the dressing room. Additionally, an estimate of the necessary material is drawn up.

materials

For the manufacture of the structure, you will need some tools and materials for work. The list is compiled on the basis of information drawn up by the project:

 1. The frame is created from guides and rack profiles. It is important to consider the thickness of the partitions. Thick ones take up a lot of space, limiting space;
 2. Sheathing of partitions is made with plasterboard up to fifteen millimeters. It is advisable to choose moisture resistant varieties;
 3. The frame is filled with soundproofing materials, for example, mineral wool;
 4. For finishing work: putty, mesh reinforcing the putty layer, finishing in the form of wallpaper, paint or wall panels;
 5. Lighting devices, sockets, switches, wires for electrical wiring;
 6. Accessories for storage systems, doors and other possible elements;
 7. Shelves, racks, mirrors, other filling elements. When choosing, they rely on the layout, individual wishes and financial capabilities.

Work plan

Independent production of a drywall dressing room is easily implemented with the consistent execution of all actions.

Construction installation:

 1. Apply markings on the walls using the building level;
 2. Make holes for dowels according to the markings;
 3. Fix the profile with screws;
 4. Mount the ventral racks in the guides, taking into account a distance of sixty centimeters;
 5. Assemble the structure;
 6. If there are doors in the dressing room, reinforce the structure with special jumpers.

The resulting device must have a solid foundation. Eliminate deflections, distortions, instability.

Rack

The wardrobe rack is able to embody all the ideas of the owners. Increases capacity, functionality and attractiveness. It is made from affordable and easy-to-process materials. The sequence of steps:

 1. Apply markings on the walls and floor;
 2. Install the guides, taking into account the formation of a groove for attaching the racks;
 3. Run the skin, based on the general style and preferences.

Pencil case

Narrow cabinets are used to store clothes and small items. The pencil case can be equipped with retractable, side hangers. The stages of creating a pencil case do not cause difficulties and problems:

 1. Selection of the necessary materials. Pay attention to the side special rollers;
 2. Collection of hangers and fixing rollers;
 3. Fixation of the back and top walls;
 4. Hanger location;
 5. Sidewall assembly.

Finishing

The type of dressing room is decided at the first stage when drawing up a sketch. If the finishing is done on plasterboard sheathing, you can fix the decor elements. Finishing sequence:

 1. Fixing drywall sheets to the frame;
 2. Putty with crack prevention due to self-adhesive tape;
 3. Applying a second layer;
 4. Primer with protection against exposure to excessive moisture;
 5. Painting or upholstery.

Ventilation and lighting

The dressing room often does not have windows. There is no influx of fresh air and natural light. It is worth considering proper ventilation and installation of lighting fixtures:

 1. Construction of partitions and doors with technological gaps;
 2. Hole in the wall above the level of the plinth;
 3. For private houses, ventilation holes are made directly in the floors.

For optimal lighting, several lamps are needed, given the features of the dressing room. One or more lamps on the ceiling, LED lighting in the volumetric compartments of the structure, mirror lighting.

An example of lighting in a dressing room without windows.

The dressing room is a rational storage of all kinds of clothing items. Designing your own is not difficult. At the beginning of work, it is important to familiarize yourself with the teaching technique in detail and understand the nuances. Properly drawn up sketches and drawings will facilitate the work. High-quality materials will extend the service life.

Video: DIY dressing room

A dressing room is needed not only to make your beloved happy. For that matter, she is much more interested in the contents of it. A dressing room is needed, first of all, so that things in it are stored for a long time and reliably: they do not deteriorate with pests, do not gather dust, do not cake, do not fade. How to equip the storage of clothes, shoes, underwear with your own hands? We will see.

Storage conditions

Suits, as you know, are never washed. They are periodically given to dry cleaning, and in between they are cleaned with a brush, vacuum cleaner or household steam generator. In all three cases, grease particles and dust, entangled in the fibers of the fabric during wear, for the most part remain there.

Nothing wrong with that. Fabrics made from natural fibers, especially woolen, have the property of self-cleaning. The essence of this process (very subtle, by the way) has been understood by science only in our days, and nanotechnologists promise in the near future wearable things that will never need to be cleaned, washed and ironed at all. An experimental three-piece suit made of nanofibers, soaked in liquid pig manure and tightly rumpled in a ball, cleared itself and sagged in an hour; it took several thousand man-hours of highly skilled labor to create it.

Probably, the matter will not be limited to self-cleaning suits, but when it will be. In the meantime, the dressing room should, firstly, provide poor natural ventilation. One exchange of air in it should occur within three to four hours. With a more intensive exchange, the dust of eggs and pest spores cannot be ruled out.

The next moment is light. For your information, the larvae of the most common clothes moth do not develop from eggs already in the weakest sunlight visible to the eye. Therefore, clothing storage, unlike closets, should also provide some natural lighting inside.

Finally, drying wet clothes. It is not necessary to dry it intensively to “gunpowder” before hanging or putting it in storage; from this, the fibers of the fabric or leather dry out and become brittle. In general, the thing soon loses the appearance of novelty and does not last long.

Soaked wearable items must first be “shaken” - simply dry in a room, no closer than 1.5 m from heating appliances, until their moisture ceases to be felt when squeezing. After that, they are placed in a wardrobe or room, arranged according to all the rules, but more on that below.

Then the following happens: particles of contaminants in the fabric, interacting in the thinnest film with residual moisture, are completely decomposed by chemical means. In this case, weak heat is released, providing enhanced air exchange. When things are thus cleared, the dressing room automatically returns to long-term storage mode with a very sluggish air exchange.

If there are no opportunities for ventilation, it comes to bacterial decomposition - rotting - not only dirt, but also the fabric / skin itself. As they say, things suffocated. The well-known "grandmother's chest smell" is a sign of their mustiness. Periodic airing does not improve things, things themselves still cake and then decay.

More about clothes. A closet doesn't have to be sparse. The recovery process after wearing takes several days, so the outfits need to be changed regularly not only for the sake of elegance. M. V. Lomonosov, who went through all the stages from poverty to enormous wealth, once determined: 1 coarse-wooled caftan wears out into a rag with holes in a year with the most careful wear. 5 caftans of the same cloth are enough for 10 years to keep a certain decency in clothes. And 20 caftans made of thin double cloth, exquisite, but less durable, he had enough for the rest of his life, and they remained like new. In any case, appearing at the court of Catherine II's retinue, which was very demanding in appearance, he never once caught a sidelong glance at his clothes.

How to make a dressing room

First of all - what is a dressing room? It is easier for oligarchs - they can allocate even a hangar from under the TU-95 in a caponier for their wardrobe. And what should we consider a dressing room? A closet, a room, a rack (by the way, this is a very useful option in terms of ventilation and light, if only it passes by design; we’ll talk about wardrobe racks later)?

We decide simply - if you can move it, disassemble it, then this is a closet. Preferably -, because. the gaps between the leaves and, especially, at the top and bottom, where the rails with rollers, solve the problem of ventilation automatically, and space is saved. If it is mounted directly on the floor in a permanent place, this is already a dressing room, even if it is 1x1.5 m. Here, again, a wardrobe-compartment is optimal, but in the corner wardrobes you will have to make hinged doors and take care of ventilation. And, finally, if attached to the wall - we have a wardrobe-rack. A special case is a wardrobe-pencil case with a retractable hanger, then we will analyze it.

materials

Any furniture materials will fit to build a dressing room. It is only necessary to say that a home-made dressing room made of drywall is an amateur to make your heart's content. Drywall, generally speaking, is not intended for furnishing; it is a finishing material, or a flat, slightly loaded floor. For furniture, drywall is too heavy and fragile; drywall shelf sags under its own weight.

Plasterboard furniture is made on a spatial frame of a rather complex design, and after assembly, the entire product requires careful finishing. On the one hand, for an actual utility room, the labor intensity and cost of arrangement are too high, and the capacity decreases, because. a solid plasterboard shelf cannot be made less than 5 cm thick.

But on the other hand, it is for the dressing room that the presence of many deaf cavities sheathed with a vapor-permeable material turns out to be useful. They play the role of a thermal and humidity buffer, which excludes sharp fluctuations in the microclimate in the room. What, as you know, neither clothes, nor shoes, nor hats like.

Wood, laminate and humidity

No one can guarantee that the clothes placed in the dressing room are "shaken" in moderation; excess moisture can lead to mustiness. A dressing room made of wood excludes it: wood, even stained, is still porous. It will absorb excess water vapor, and then gradually release it in the optimal proportion.

Laminate has all the useful properties of wood, except for porosity. But it has other advantages: cheapness and low labor intensity of work, strength, durability. When the dressing room project is ready, in any furniture workshop they will cut the blanks to size and trim the PVC saw cuts to match the customer's request. It will cost much less than buying sheets at retail, and all that remains is to assemble the product.

However, the laminate does not breathe, and for a dressing room this is a factor of paramount importance. A rag bag of silica gel in each section can help out at the rate of 20 g per kilogram of the weight of things. Since you need little silica gel, it is better to buy a more expensive indicator one, it discolors when it loses its ability to absorb moisture. Restoring it is simple: you need to heat the produced silica gel in a dry atmosphere (in the oven or with a household hair dryer) to 70-80 degrees. After 5-20 minutes, the color appears again - the moisture absorbent has dried out and is ready for use again.

Dimensions

As for the configuration, design style and finishes, the dressing room arrangement is a matter of personal taste and needs only. It is only necessary to observe some sizes, it is important that the clothes breathe:

 1. The height of the compartment for coats, raincoats, jackets, suits - from 150 cm, to the level of the bar for coat hangers; from it to the top is about 10 cm.
 2. The height of the compartment for light outerwear on a coat hanger is from 100 cm + 10 cm.
 3. The height of hat and shoe shelves - according to the highest item + 5-10 cm.
 4. The height of the linen shelves - according to the content, within 250-450 mm.

The height of the shelves is determined simply: we sort the linen, it is possible on paper, in a list, and we divide the height of the dressing room by the number of varieties; subtract the thickness of the material from the obtained value. So, if in the drawings below you see dimensions like 338 mm, 413 mm, etc., do not rack your brains, according to what abstruse formulas this happened. The authors counted according to the assortment of their linen (or the linen of the customer), and no one bothers you to calculate it in your own way.

The depth of all compartments is the width of the widest shoulders + 10-20 cm; with one exception, see the section on dressing rooms in block Khrushchevs. As a rule, it turns out 45-65 cm. As for the width, it is determined as follows:

 • 17-25 cm for each winter coat, jacket, three-piece suit.
 • 12-17 cm for a raincoat without an insulating lining, a demi-season coat and light outerwear stored in a hanging position.
 • 7-12 cm for shirt and blouse.
 • The length of hat and shoe shelves - along the width of the compartment, except for the mentioned case for block Khrushchev.
 • The length of the linen shelves - according to the principle remaining from the clothing compartments. May need to be re-sorted; for example, bring your husband’s T-shirts, T-shirts and underpants into one, and do the same with your thongs and bras (fee!)

Width and depth are related. The minimum width values correspond to the maximum depth, i.e. the compartment volume per corresponding garment is constant. It does not depend on the height of the compartment; a margin of 5 cm at the top and bottom is enough to ensure air circulation. 10 cm or more at the top can be given for the sake of ease of use.

Layout

As is clear from the requirements for humidity and ventilation, storage alone is not enough for a wardrobe. You need a wardrobe system of at least two components: an open hanger for “shaking out” and a room or cabinet with an even, mild microclimate for storing and self-restoring wearable items.

If there is some excess living space, a dryer is also useful. The easiest way to equip it is in houses with stove heating: according to fire safety rules, the stove should not be adjacent to the wall. It is inconvenient to build it in the middle of the room, therefore, in almost every house with solid fuel stove heating, there is a nook near the stove, colloquially referred to as a trash can. By the way, according to popular beliefs, there lives a kind of authority among brownies - Trash. The chlamnik is an ideal place to pre-dry clothes.

In city apartments, clothes are “shaken” on a hanger in the hallway. It is not necessary to buy it at all, it is easily made by a novice master from a laminate, like the one in fig. Decorative edging - from metal push pins. To make it even and beautiful, they are pricked according to a template from a metal corner, in one of the shelves of which holes are drilled slightly larger than the diameter of the button pins.

Only the extreme holes should be on a line parallel to the corner shelf. Intermediate ones can be made with variable pitch, arc, zigzag, wave, etc., achieving decorative effects. Use the template like this:

 1. The first portion of the buttons is placed by gently pressing with a finger, if only the holes are outlined.
 2. Carefully, pressing with a screwdriver, remove the template along with the buttons; you need to act carefully: although the buttons are pressed in a little, but there are a lot of them and everything together is held quite tightly.
 3. The buttons, except for the last one in the batch, are rearranged from the template to their places and driven in with light blows of the hammer.
 4. The template is fixed in the next position with the last button of the first portion through its first hole; the button is not pressed all the way.
 5. The next holes are marked, the template is removed again.
 6. They hammer the last button of the first batch and all but the last button of the second.
 7. Then - again and in the same way until the end of the work.

Brackets-brackets under the shelf also do not have to be curly forged or cast. The shelf can be hung in the same way as for the dressing room rack, see below. Then a hanger bar will be placed under it, the clothes will dry to the desired condition faster and never suffocate even in humid air.

There is a significant nuance in the layout of the wardrobe complex. In many apartments in the hallway there is a storage room. So, it should not be equipped as a dressing room for the sake of simplicity and convenience: the microclimate is completely unsuitable for long-term storage of clothes. A pantry-dressing room should be arranged in any of the living rooms, and away from the balcony.

Structural elements

To properly equip a dressing room, you need to follow certain requirements for some of its components. There are, however, only two of them: doors and shelves. Doors, as already mentioned, should provide air exchange and let some light in, but not let dust in. Ideal option - doors in the form of blinds; these will look quite good in the interior of the colonial style, country or similar. Otherwise, either gaps of at least 2 cm at the top and bottom are needed, or in the same place and in the same place along a series of holes with a diameter of at least 30 mm.

Shelves must provide ventilation, i.e. be perforated or mesh. There are two exceptions: firstly, open-type wardrobes, inscribed in design into the interior. Secondly, a dressing room-pencil case, where the design of the retractable part should provide strength. Ventilation in both cases is also provided with blind shelves.

Special shelves for dressing rooms are commercially available, see fig. above left. But you don't have to spend money on them either. It will be cheaper and more convenient to bend to your size from a metal mesh. We need, of course, not a chain-link, but a welded fine-meshed one, see fig. on right. This is available in galvanized, chrome-plated (the most expensive) and PVC-coated - any color and completely rust-free. Trimmings, just suitable for shelves, will gladly be sold at any hardware store on the cheap.

Design

The dressing room is a utility room, aesthetically absolutely subordinate to the general idea of the interior, therefore there is only one requirement for its design: as God puts it on the soul, if only it does not spoil the view. But from this arbitrariness, nevertheless, a consequence follows: the design of the dressing room should organically weave from the general style of the room in which it is located.

That is, when starting a renovation or moving into a new building, the dressing room is designed as a last resort, when everything else is already coordinated. Initially, you only need to allocate space for it. Otherwise, one cannot avoid some dominance of an unambiguously secondary element, and this is an obvious bad taste.

In the pantries

Design issues disappear if you make a dressing room from a pantry. Two questions remain: technology and placement. As for the assembly technology, the best option is to stick everything to the walls with silicone. Nothing needs to be drilled, dusted, but held tightly. If necessary, you can also disassemble it - warm it up properly with a household hair dryer at full power and pry it off with a sharp screwdriver or a mounting knife.

It is better to put the hanger bar not in purchased plastic holders, but in home-made ones, so it will be reliable for years and years. Material - plywood from 10 mm thick; shape - a circle about 10 cm in diameter with a U-shaped neckline. Shelf holders - from the same plywood in the form of strips. Inclined mesh shelves, so as not to move out, can be nailed with small nails to the ends of the plywood; to do this, you need to cut the blanks with a margin for bending the side.

Those who like to tinker more with metal and plastic than with wood can recommend the design shown in fig. She has only two attachment points to the wall; shoe and hat shelves made of mesh are glued with silicone, and the hat shelf is inclined anteriorly so that the bar remains free. From an old Soviet folding bed with a rotten tarpaulin lounger, you can build a dressing room of this type in just an hour. Frames of legs covered with a net (you can use a fishing net) will also add linen shelves.

But here is the accommodation - here the pantry is different from the pantry. "Storage" dressing rooms in block houses, old and new, are usually unimportant: the pantry in them is either too narrow a pencil case, or goes into the hallway, which is bad for the microclimate. Although a dressing room in a pencil case can still be made by placing clothing compartments on two floors, it will be inconvenient to use it, and the kitchen and the hallway are too close. Here, a built-in dressing room in some niche or in the blind end of a narrow long room will be more functional.

Going through the options

However, the best option is a dressing area in the living room. Why? No need to beat the walls, floor and ceiling, buy expensive rails with rollers (remember: the best dressing room is open or compartment) and suffer with installation and adjustment of the entire system. On fig. a diagram of such a "do-it-yourself mini-dressing room" is shown. Of the works required, subject to custom-made sawing of blanks to size - in fact, only assembly on plastic dowels and installation of a mirror on silicone, which can be done in a day. Vertical metal rods in the shirt compartment are not required, you can take a chest of drawers ready and pick up a laminate to match it. In terms of capacity, it will be enough for a young family, especially if the apartment is mortgaged (a sad joke).

More options for small wardrobes are shown in fig. below. The first one on the left can be conditionally called a bachelor's room: it is, in fact, a chiffonier squeezed to the limit without doors. It will include a coat, a jacket, two or three suits, a minimum of light things and underwear, but you can stick it anywhere.

For residents who still care about how their home looks, a miniature corner dressing room is more suitable: its surfaces easily fit into the design, and the contents are not striking. If the door is made glass matte with a pattern, or a dressing room is glued entirely of glass, as in the beige inset in the figure, then it will even pull on a meaningful piece of furniture.

Fencing off a whole corner under the dressing room, as in a light gray box, is not worth it. Firstly, in terms of capacity: per unit of occupied area it turns out to be one and a half times less than that of a rectangular one. Secondly, in terms of functionality: it is inconvenient to fold the filling of linen shelves into triangles, otherwise the tails will hang. Thirdly, in terms of labor intensity and costs: it is more difficult to cut a triangle, and very wide doors are needed, and without them, things from triangular shelves will slide all the time.

And, finally, aesthetics - a vast plane blocking the corner will draw the eye towards itself, and visually significantly reduce the room. Those who are familiar with the psychophysiology of visual perception are well aware that an extensive tightened angle “presses”.

It is more correct to make a corner dressing room in the form of a parallelepiped with one cut corner. Such a drawing is shown in Fig. in the center. According to visual perception, it no longer sticks out, but rather, as if pressed into a corner. In terms of capacity, it turns out to be equivalent to a triangular one twice as large, if you count along the wall.

Pencil case

Now let's see what a dressing room is. The essence is simple: it is a narrow high rectangular case with a hanger-frame retractable from the side, equipped with shelves. Attempts to create a dressing room in the form of a pencil case have been made for a long time, it has too many advantages, which are discussed below. But everything rested on the guiding mechanism: extended to the limit, or at least halfway, the hanger sagged, warped and jammed. Structures made of rail guides with rollers or pins in pipes at the full exit of the hanger also warped and wedged, and hydraulic cylinders and springs with levers or pantographs turned out to be too complicated and expensive.

Recently, one of the furniture makers implemented in the finished product the idea for a dressing room with a pull-out hanger, free from this drawback. He remembered one of the design commandments: if a knot doesn't work out well, do it the other way around.

Specifically, in this solution, the side ends of the shelves are used as guides, with 2 mm PVC edging, the guide rollers are used in pairs, they are fixed from the inside on the side walls of the case and shifted as far forward as possible, see fig. The fully extended hanger comes back without jamming just from a hand push. Shelves for small items are equipped with low sides made of PVC sheet (not shown in the figure) so that accidentally hanging laundry tails do not fall under the rollers and stop the hanger.

Rollers - the cheapest, not rotary (not self-aligning). When installing on site, the hanger is first assembled, then the rollers are attached to the sides of the case and their height position is checked. Next, the upper and rear walls are attached to the sidewall facing the wall, the hanger slides in and the remaining sidewall is mounted. The assembly is completed by fastening the sidewalls at the bottom in front with a U-shaped galvanized strip 0.4-0.6 mm thick lying on the floor, as shown in the inset at the top right of the figure; it also serves as a stopper that prevents the hanger from rolling out spontaneously.

The options for installing the canister that have been implemented to date are shown in the following fig. Left - in the sleeping niche. The designers give the length of the bed niches in odnushki with a margin, and it turns out a nook-garbage bin. Most often, residents leave it at the head, putting a table or bedside table there with drawers that slide out from the side.

The option is not their best: groping for something with your hand behind your head, knocking over or breaking a vase for a short time, throwing glasses on the floor, etc. But if the gap is left at the foot, the wardrobe-pencil case becomes “like a native” there, and in the production to order, all refinement comes down to changing the width of the shelves, ends and top. With computer-controlled sawing, additional costs compared to the standard series are zero.

In the center is a pencil case in the bedroom of a small apartment. This decision, according to the first customer, is conditionally called "the corner of a lazy coquette". Barely piercing (sorry - rubbing) her eyes and hanging her legs on the floor, she immediately finds herself in front of a dressing table and a mirror glued to the side wall of the pencil case.

On the right - a more serious option, for the nursery. It's all about the organization of lighting. Children's eyes are easily damaged, and for correct vision it is necessary that the light falls obliquely to the left at an angle of about 45 degrees. If the table is pushed into a corner close to the wall, the light will fall too gently. The cabinet in the corner forces the table to be moved almost to the center of the window, and the light is direct, sharp. Leave an empty space in the corner? What will come of this, parents do not need to explain, they themselves were like that. The custom-made pencil case fills just the right width with benefit, and its sidewall facing the table can be decorated or hung there with bookshelves.

With self-production, the work can be even more simplified and cheaper: we generally refuse the sidewall adjacent to the wall, and we attach the rollers intended for it directly to the wall. You do not need to align it: the rollers will not leave their place. The gap between the hanger and the wall will be uneven, but so what? It is not visible, and the structural height of the rollers is at least 4 cm. Such humpbacked walls do not exist in slums either.

In Khrushchev

The demand for secondary "Khrushchev" apartments is steadily growing due to their cheapness, and apartments in brick Khrushchev apartments with ceilings over 3 meters high and walls two bricks in general instantly go away, realtors just lick their lips. Therefore, it is impossible not to touch on the issue of a dressing room in Khrushchev.

In the block relics of the housing boom of the 60s, the prospects, it must be said, are deplorable: everything is so compressed that it is very difficult to find a suitable place for a separate room. A more or less successful way out is found only in projects with a narrow and long hallway. Its branch, which closes with a door to the living room, is suitable for the microclimate, but the width of the corridor is only 1.25 m.

In this case, it is not the dressing room itself that decides the matter, but clothing accessories. Namely, hangers with a swivel hook. Things are hung as shown in the figure; such a suspension does not interfere with their self-healing. If the hat and shoe shelves are made inclined, then the depth of the "ultra-compact" dressing room, including the thickness of the compartment doors, can be reduced to 0.4-0.35 m, and the passage remains sufficient.

In brick Khrushchev, difficulties, as a rule, do not arise. There is almost always a closet suitable for a dressing room in a suitable place. The layouts of some common projects are shown in fig. 44/31/5.8 is especially good, the author happened to live in such a dozen years. A small but very cozy apartment, and a large closet perfectly accommodates a wardrobe (highlighted in green), a rack for jars (blue) and a workshop corner (brown).

Guys in secret: should be placed exactly as shown. At the same time, in the workshop you can arrange a secret wine cellar and a secret safe for stash. The missus suddenly plans a "shmon", homemade preparations will immediately appear before her eyes, and in her right side vision, much stronger than her left, her outfits. It will immediately be distracted and sorting out will go completely different from what it was thought up. Immeasurably safer than a box of dirty socks.

In projects 58/42 / 6.2, most likely, but in the one highlighted in Fig. yellow improved 41/27/6.2 for sure, you will have to move the door to another room - the closets are so uncomfortable that at the slightest filling you have to reach for things from the threshold. In the original 41/27/6.2 (lower left) there is no closet at all, but a niche is provided in the hallway. Under the dressing room, it is quite suitable, in that place the microclimate is favorable. Only too small for a compartment device, you will have to make a rack, which is described below.

Just in case: the numbers in the designations of the projects mean the first - the total area; the second is residential; the third is the kitchen area.

Video: an example of the internal arrangement of the dressing room

Rack

A wardrobe-rack can look quite stylish and aesthetic if things are tastefully selected, neatly arranged / hung and kept clean, see fig. An indispensable condition for such a solution is that the shelves and the frame of the rack should be lost against the background of the contents. Structurally, the dressing-rack is solved simply: the supporting frame is made of perforated profiles attached to the wall, clothes shelves are made of dark laminate (the mesh here will pass through the aesthetics only for shoes) on metal struts. Hanger bars are attached either to the bottom of the shelves or to the struts.

Metal factory fittings for wardrobe racks are quite expensive, but a do-it-yourselfer can avoid unnecessary expenses. At the same time, any pieces of a bar with a diameter of 5-6 mm will go to the struts; perhaps not very smooth and touched by rust. But how can they be simply and cheaply ennobled so that they have a look? And at the same time, securely attach the bars?

The heat-shrinkable tubes (HERE) usually used for electrical insulation will help out. They are made of durable polyisopropylene, available in white, black and all colors of the rainbow. They are seated by heating up to 70-80 degrees with a jet of hot air from a household hair dryer. The diameter of a non-shrink (fresh) tube must be taken twice as large as the diameter of the bar, while the plastic layer will be 2-3 mm with its greatest strength.

The design of shelves for the wardrobe is shown in fig. on right; there is also a way to mount the rods. There are some peculiarities in performance. The fact is that HERE, when shrinking, not only shrink in diameter, but also slide a little along the length. Therefore, we cover the metal with plastic at home in the following way:

 • We put a piece of the tube first on the lower, according to the figure, part of the bracket with a margin in both directions.
 • We seat, evenly warming up with a hair dryer in a circular motion, this will give the greatest strength to the part of the plastic frame, which accounts for the entire weight of the rod with clothes.
 • When cool, cut to size.
 • We put a rod on the bar with holes drilled in advance in the corner stop, exactly parallel to each other.
 • We put on the upper section of the tube, move it with effort to the bar, hold it pressed against it.
 • With a hair dryer, we seat the tube near the bar by 2-5 cm (if only the fingers do not burn), without loosening the pressure.
 • After cooling, we seat the remainder, cut off the top to size.

It remains to decide what to do with the markings on the tube, volts there, amps? It's useless in the dressing room. Here again, the cheapest option turns out to be the best - HERE made in China, of uneven thickness in a "fresh" form and with a not very smooth surface. From them, the marking is washed off either with a cotton swab with alcohol, or with dishwashing detergent, or with a cleaning powder for stoves on a damp cloth.

The seated tube is very durable, hides the roughness and unevenness of the metal. The weight of the rod with the load holds without problems, but for the “china” it will be nice to drip the connections with superglue after assembly.

What if you just order?

Is it possible to order a dressing room in the apartment? Not everyone knows how to craft and determine the right place? Can. The world's leading brand for wardrobes and household items in general is the Swedish-Dutch company Ikea, whose branches are scattered around the world. In the Russian Federation, they are almost in every regional city and in many more or less large regional centers.

The presence of a dressing room in the house helps to free the living space from bulky furniture, optimizes life and allows you to quickly find the right thing. You can equip such a room by contacting professionals by ordering a ready-made storage system according to individual sizes. A less expensive and at the same time interesting solution is a do-it-yourself dressing room: drawings, diagrams and photos with useful tips for arranging will help make the process easy and fast.

DIY wardrobe: drawings, diagrams and photos of storage systems

For those who intend to assemble a wardrobe system with their own hands, it is necessary to pay attention not only to the size of the room itself, but also to the possibility of compact and rational internal filling. To achieve maximum accuracy, it is recommended to pre-develop drawings and diagrams of the future storage system. Ready-made design projects for wardrobe rooms with your own hands, photos and diagrams will become a good example when creating your own version.

The exclusivity of the corner layout lies in the fact that under the dressing room you can use places that are usually not involved in any way and are difficult to access. For example, it can be a corner, where doors or windows are located in the walls forming it at a small distance from the center of the corner. Such a space is usually empty, so taking this area under the corner dressing room is the most successful and practical option.

Depending on the area allotted for the dressing room, the corner space can be separated from the main room in several ways. If there is enough space, they arrange a plasterboard partition, and in the case of minimal dimensions, an open storage system project is suitable. Many people use a corner wardrobe in the hallway, which is a worthy alternative to a separate room. Photos of dressing rooms with your own hands will serve as a good example of creating a storage area.

If you prefer a corner dressing room in the hallway, which will be separated from the main room, then you can equip the interior filling in two ways: along one or two walls. The scheme of the first option is a storage system compactly assembled along one wall. It is recommended to leave racks and shelves open, which will save space. The remaining space is used for moving around the dressing room, as well as under the fitting room.

In the second option, the location of the filling is planned along two walls. The main advantage of such a filling is compactness with maximum capacity. However, it is worth considering that you can simply enter such a dressing room, but you will not be able to use it as a fitting room. This filling method is suitable for families of several people, where the main task is to fit the things of each of the household as much as possible. For filling, storage systems with a set of corner components are used, which provide good ergonomics for a small space.

Corner wardrobes in the hallway can be fenced off with swing doors, accordion doors or light sliding partitions, however, it is worth considering the features of the hallway. If the room is rather modest, the swing option is absolutely not appropriate. Radius sliding systems look spectacular, the content of which is selected in unison with the overall interior.

Arrangement of a dressing room in the bedroom

Photos of do-it-yourself wardrobe systems, equipped in the bedroom, indicate that this is one of the most common and convenient options. The feasibility of creating a dressing room on the territory of the bedroom can be determined by calculating the area of the sleeping area. If the size of the bedroom significantly exceeds this parameter, you can safely proceed to the independent construction of the dressing room.

There are several schemes for organizing the internal space in the dressing room. This can be a linear storage system design, the arrangement of modules in the form of the letter "U" or "L", as well as the parallel placement of racks and shelves. The most optimal version is a U-shaped dressing room. This layout contributes to the maximum filling of the room and at the same time allows you to leave room for movement around it. As a rule, for U-shaped dressing rooms you need enough footage, however, they can also be accommodated in modest areas.

For small bedrooms, where it is not possible to isolate 1.5 - 2 m from the room, they are limited to a wardrobe in the bedroom. Such furniture is compact, it does not take up much space and has a thoughtful filling. Ways to fill wardrobes can be found in the catalogs of sites that sell and manufacture furniture. Ready-made sets of storage systems with a narrow specialization for clothes, shoes and accessories are distinguished by unsurpassed ergonomics.

If the layout is such that the dressing room is a walk-through, the parallel arrangement of storage systems is the best fit. Do-it-yourself drawings of racks and shelves in the dressing room indicate that with this method of filling, movement around the room is not difficult, and the storage system can accommodate everything you need. The most convenient combination is the bedroom-dressing room-shower room. But there may be other options.

Dressing room design from pantry 1.1 by 1.5 m

Many professional designers believe that it is not advisable to use a dressing room smaller than 2 sq.m. However, photos of dressing rooms from small closets indicate that even such a small space can be successfully planned for a functional storage system. It is on such works that the professionalism of designers is tested. After all, it is necessary not only to transform the pantry into a dressing room, but also to take into account the interests of everyone who will use it, given the lack of square meters.

Projects and drawings of such wardrobes require accurate calculations and optimal internal content. Shallow shelves are very relevant for filling a dressing room measuring 1.1x1.5 m. If you do not fence off the room with a door, the shelves can be moved outside the pantry and then they will become part of the room's furniture and effectively complement the interior. In this case, shelves and racks are designed in such a way that they flow smoothly from the dressing room into the room.

A photo of small dressing rooms from pantries clearly illustrates the options when the entire length of one of the walls is used for the storage system. With such a project, you can carve out additional space so that you can enter the dressing room to search for the right things. However, in order to use the space of the mini-dressing room as much as possible, it is recommended to arrange them as a niche, which is fenced off from the main room with an accordion door or a sliding sliding door.

Dressing rooms in Khrushchev instead of a pantry

The main difference between modern dressing rooms and pantries is the presence of an ordered system of shelves, mezzanines, drawers, hangers and other components for convenient storage of not only personal items, but also items and inventory of various shapes and purposes. In addition, such systems are designed in such a way that all objects and things are visible and easily accessible. There are hundreds of options for dressing rooms, the layout and content of which depends on the area and budget of their owners.

Before you make a dressing room with your own hands, it will be useful to familiarize yourself with the basic planning solutions for dressing rooms. The fact is that in large-sized apartments, as a rule, separate rooms are already provided for dressing rooms. The owners can only equip them with suitable storage systems. But in the apartments of the old housing stock, pantries are allocated for such needs, the dimensions of which are quite small.

In order to organize the space of a small room as correctly as possible, designers offer various methods for arranging dressing rooms from closets in Khrushchev. Many different projects are offered for independent implementation. You can choose the most suitable one by reading the drawings, diagrams and photos of dressing rooms in Khrushchev instead of a pantry.

If initially there is no pantry in the layout of the apartment, the dressing room can be arranged anywhere. It can be a combination of a dressing room with a bedroom, hallway, hall, nursery and other rooms. Experts recommend allocating several zones for storage systems, for example, in the bedroom and hallway, if possible. In an ordinary Khrushchev, a place for a dressing room is determined at the stage of redevelopment, which is preliminarily agreed upon with the relevant authorities.

Depending on the location in the apartment, configuration and area, the dressing room can be arranged along one wall, formed at an angle or given an L- or U-shaped shape. The latest technologies make it possible to plan the optimal storage system for any, even a modest, dressing room. After all, the main advantage of internal filling is a huge range of components for every taste.

Schemes of wardrobe rooms from pantries: photo examples

How to make a dressing room out of a pantry? A photo selection of various transformation techniques demonstrates many options for arranging pantries. There are two main conversion methods. The first is characterized by dismantling the partitions of the pantry and installing a cabinet of the appropriate size in this place. Typically, these cabinets are equipped with sliding sliding doors, which have a mirror filling.

Another option involves completely emptying the contents of the pantry and equipping the room with modern compact storage systems. Updating the internal content will make it possible to maximize the use of the pantry space with racks of various shapes and sizes, shelves, baskets, bars and other elements. The presence of many special hooks, holders will increase the comfort level of the former pantry and extend the life of many things.

Before you make a dressing room out of a pantry, you should carefully consider and draw up a scheme for filling it. Having made the appropriate measurements, it is necessary to calculate the number of shelves, trempels and drawers for small items, special holders for trousers, ties, hats and other accessories. The presence of a detailed project will help to avoid mistakes and unreasonable consumption of materials when converting a dressing room from a closet with your own hands.

The choice of a suitable dressing room project depends on the plan of the apartment itself. In many Khrushchev buildings, a typical layout of apartments provides for a pantry in the bedroom. This room is formed by enclosing part of the bedroom with a partition for the entire width of the room. The entrance to the pantry can be from the side of the bedroom or from the side of the adjacent living room. In some apartments, the pantry is located at the end of a long corridor, part of which is fenced off with a partition. For example, on the network you can find many suitable projects and photos of dressing rooms from closets in Khrushchev.

How to make a dressing room from the pantry with your own hands

Before you make a dressing room in a room from a pantry on your own, you should choose the best project for such an area. In addition, the choice of option depends on the number of residents whose things will be stored in the future dressing room. You can find drawings and diagrams that fit the dimensions of your room by viewing a selection of photos of dressing rooms from the pantry. The drawings show all the required dimensions, as well as examples of internal filling systems.

Re-equipment of the dressing room from the pantry with your own hands: photo ideas

For those who want to become the owner of a spacious and comfortable dressing room with a minimum financial investment, the option of re-arranging the pantry for these needs is suitable. To do the job, you will need a set of tools, which is probably in the arsenal of any owner:

 • construction tape measure, level, pencil;
 • screwdriver, hammer, pliers;
 • drill or perforator;
 • screwdriver;
 • jigsaw;
 • self-tapping screws.

The selection of material for the internal filling of the dressing room depends on the intended storage system. It is calculated according to the drawings and diagrams of your project. Usually for these purposes they acquire:

 • furniture pipes (metal and wood) for the installation of a wardrobe rod or frame;
 • durable lumber for shelves, mezzanines, pedestals (you can use, for example, laminated chipboard);
 • furniture accessories: guides, corners for connection, handles, hinges, etc.;
 • boxes, baskets, storage boxes.

At the first stage, it is proposed to dismantle the entire contents of the pantry: remove the old shelves, remove all hooks, hangers, nails and other fixtures. Clean the walls of old wallpaper or paint, and then carefully align. For a new design of the walls, you can apply coloring in light colors or wallpapering. The photo of the dressing room in the pantry, which has hinged doors, shows that a large mirror can be fixed on them from the inside.

As soon as the design of the walls is completed, proceed to the manufacture and installation of internal storage systems. Purchase of materials is carried out according to the developed drawings and sketches. They calculate the required amount of chipboard, furniture pipes, fittings, fasteners, self-tapping screws, as well as additional elements of storage systems.

Assembling a wardrobe system with your own hands: basic principles

Filling the wardrobe storage system depends entirely on the specific requirements of its owners. In addition, the budget allocated for these needs also plays a role. The filling of the dressing room can have several design options. Those who have certain skills in assembling furniture can independently assemble and install cabinet modules in the dressing room. Most often, such filling models are made to order according to individual sizes.

The cabinet structures are quite roomy, fit perfectly into the space and contribute to the neat storage of things. Elements of case modules have standard sizes. They are equipped with a choice of various accessories that are assembled according to the type of designer. But it should be borne in mind that shelves and racks in cabinet design are quite bulky and take up a lot of space, which is why they are not recommended for filling dressing rooms of modest size.

For small dressing rooms, the assembly of mesh structures is suitable. This type of filling is characterized by compactness, lightness and the possibility of transformation. Structural elements are easy to assemble with your own hands, do not visually overload the space and are inexpensive. For those who make a choice in favor of such filling, it is worth considering that cellular storage systems cannot be overloaded with items that are too heavy.

Frame storage systems are appropriate both in small wardrobes and in rooms with significant dimensions. The assembly scheme is a metal rack that is mounted between the ceiling and the floor by surprise. Further, shelves, boxes, racks and crossbars are fixed to them, which practically “float in the air”. Such filling is characterized by ease of installation, lightness and strength of the structure itself.

Basic rules for organizing storage

Not only a quick and convenient search, but also their service life depends on how correctly things will be placed in the dressing room. Therefore, it is very important to properly organize the interior space of the dressing room. To do this, it is necessary to plan in advance the storage areas for various things and objects. It is recommended to divide the wardrobe-dressing room into several functional sections:

 • lower compartment - shoes, small accessories (umbrellas, bags) and trousers should be stored here. The height from the floor should be no more than 70-80 cm. It is better to store shoes on special inclined sliding shelves (height is about 30 cm for summer shoes, 40-45 cm for winter shoes);

 • middle compartment - used primarily for storing frequently used items. Rods, pantographs, as well as retractable shelves for storing small toilet items are equipped here. Depending on the length of things, the height of the middle zone varies from 140 to 170 cm. Approximately 100 cm is allocated to the compartments for storing shirts and jackets. Knitwear is conveniently stored in baskets and boxes mounted on shelves;

 • the upper compartment is equipped with racks for storing overall items and seasonal items: blankets, pillows, bulky bags, suitcases, as well as sports and household equipment.

Modern storage systems are hard to imagine without innovative components. These include various holders for trousers and skirts, belts, ties, scarves, boxes for various small things, textile holders for bags and much more. The press hanger for trousers is very convenient in use: it is supplied with coat hangers for a jacket, a hanger for a belt and a tie. All holders are equipped with special soft clips that do not leave marks on clothes.

Independent re-equipment of the pantry allows you to acquire a practical and functional dressing room for storing things and items necessary for everyday life with minimal investment. In addition, a self-made transformation process will enable the implementation of personal interpretation to meet individual needs.

Wardrobe room from pipes Joker (Joker)

The material presented in this article for the manufacture of a simple and inexpensive dressing room is unique. Craft do-it-yourself dressing room will be as simple as ever.

For the manufacture of a dressing room we will use Joker system and connectors Uno. The dressing room will turn out to be light, airy, and its functionality will be no less than Elfa or Aristo factory wardrobes.

Joker(Joker) is a simple construction kit for adults based on a 25 mm chrome tube. Using pipes and a variety of connecting elements, as well as panels made of chipboard, glass, you can create a variety of designs, including a dressing room.

Our main task is to make a simple, beautiful and reliable dressing room with our own hands, which we will now do using the example of a small straight dressing room with a width of 2700 mm.

Making the base of the dressing room

At the first stage, we will make the base on which the dressing room will rest, the design is similar to that described in the instructions for assembling the wardrobe.

The base is a chipboard panel 2700 mm wide and 500 mm deep, we attach plastic legs to the panel, put more so that the structure can withstand heavy loads.

Rice. 3.

Why exactly? Because if you install wardrobe racks directly on the floor, you will have to drill to the floor, which is not very good when, for example, tiles or concrete screed are laid on it, and we can easily do this to chipboard. Plastic legs will help level the unevenness of the floor and set the base level.

With the help of clips, we attach a 100 mm high plinth or plinth to the front legs, which will create an additional line of support and close the legs.

Installation of vertical racks of the dressing room

As vertical racks, we use chrome-plated Joker pipes 2000 mm high, which we fasten to the base of the dressing room with the help of consoles for attaching to the plane (pipe holders, flanges). We fix the central racks along the axis of 900 mm from the left and right edges.

We remind you that we want to make a reliable dressing room, so we use a stiffening rib 300 high and 2700 mm long in the design.

We fasten a horizontal wall with a width of 2700 mm and a depth of 482 mm to the stiffener with the help of confirmations, it is additionally possible to strengthen this attachment point with mounting brackets. We will attach the stiffening rib itself to the wall with the help of dowels, and again, with the help of flanges, we will fix the vertical racks to the horizontal from below.

And if we want to make the structures extremely rigid, then we can make a rib at the bottom, fixing it to the bottom and to the wall.

On the upper horizontal wall, you can place boxes, things that you rarely use.

Installation of shelves in the dressing room

To fasten the shelves to the pipes, we will use one-sided and two-sided shelf holders, if the shelves fit the pipe from both sides.

We will make the shelves from chipboard, we will veneer the panels on all sides. We install the panels at an equal height, or place them at the height you need at different distances, the fasteners allow you to do this.

In the middle section, we will install a shelf at the top and bottom to make efficient use of the space, and use the remaining space to install a pipe for hanging hangers.

To attach these shelves, use double-sided shelf supports.

Installing a pipe for a coat hanger in a dressing room

The pipe for the coat hanger is a necessary thing, both in the closet and in the dressing room. To install one or two pipes, we will use perpendicular connectors, with which we will first fix two pipe sections perpendicular to the vertical posts, and again, using connectors, we will fix the pipe for the hangers to these segments.

Installing a module with drawers in the dressing room

We will make the module an independent product, with its own side walls, bottom and horizontals. When calculating the width, take into account the space that the shelf supports take up. And from below, on the bottom of the pedestal, install the tips so that the pedestal does not stand directly on the pipe holders.

Install chrome-plated railing handles on the facades of the cabinet, which, in combination with chrome-plated pipes, will give your dressing room a stylish look.

As colors, it is better to use not the traditional and boring colors of beech or chestnut, plain decors, but rather tree-like decors of exotic woods.

At the final stage, we will place our dressing room in the room, the walls of which are imitated brickwork, and the floor is laminated.
