Choose the type of decor for the corner, depending on the type of wall decoration, which can be plastered, wallpapered and paneled. Also, the corners are often trimmed with clapboard. The outer corners of the facade can be sheathed with siding of various types. Much also depends on the material of the wall: it is clear that fixing the corner finish on a plastered concrete or brick wall is not at all the same as finishing the corner of an aerated concrete wall or a corner of an internal wall trimmed with drywall on a frame.
For plastered and sheathed plasterboard walls, special protective plaster elements are used, there are two types of these corners:
- Aluminum perforated for finishing on flat areas; durable and reliable parts, there are options for fasteners with reinforcing mesh;
- Arched plastic corners. Very flexible elements, designed for arches and semi-arches, suitable for surfaces with any curvature.
For the joints of PVC panels, you can buy special plastic corners in a variety of colors, but the sizes are standard.
Corners are glued to the main plaster or putty when applying a rough layer of plaster. When installing the corners, it is mandatory to control the verticality in two planes, use the building level or level. Corners for plastering corners are used not only for interior decoration. On the facade, such protection will not interfere even with light siding, since it not only aligns the corners, but also protects against mechanical damage.
For walls lined with light clapboard or plastic panels - this finish is popular for kitchens, hallways, bathrooms, loggias - corners can be finished in several ways. The easiest is to use a corner profile, a complete siding part. When installing and fastening the corner profiles to the crate, level control is required. The profile is fixed with a construction stapler on the frame, and the siding panel is inserted into a special groove. If there is no profile corner, you can decorate the wall with a plastic panel bent along the center line. If you make a neat longitudinal cut in the plastic, then the panel bends very carefully, and for plasticity on the front side, the panel is slightly warmed up with a building hair dryer.
Wooden lining is not necessarily adjusted and cut at the corners to the millimeter, and then the flaws are filled with putty to match. Special wooden corners perfectly decorate the corner - both internal and external. The junction of the lining is made quickly and without problems, the fasteners are made with glazing nails, the caps of which are bitten.

To finish the corners of the house with the technology of insulation and plastering "wet facade", plaster corners with perforation and with a reinforcing mesh are used. If the facade is sheathed with siding, then there are usually no problems with corners, since all facade panels are completed with additional elements. But you can protect or repair the corners of a house lined with siding at any time. The corner also serves as a fastener for siding panels, protects the corner from accidental influences and performs a decorative function. Often the corners are decorated in a contrasting color. In addition to decor, the corner performs the following tasks:
- Fixing panels;
- Making panel joints;
- Protection of the ends of the panels from mechanical impact;
- Corner - a guide element when installing siding.
- Mount the outer corners of the siding along the crate, fasten it with self-tapping screws with vertical control.
On wooden walls, decorative finishing is not necessary - a corner chopped from a bar or log is in itself a decoration of the house, moreover, strength is ensured when cutting corners. But another question is to protect not only the design, but also the material. For the corners of wooden log houses, where the end of the lumber is the least resistant to water, moisture, insects and microorganisms, protective measures are required - treatments with special sealants and impregnations for wood. The compositions for the ends are used not only on the facade of wooden houses, but also in the interior.
Finishing corners on walls pasted over with canvases or finished with liquid wallpaper is traditional: All external corners of the apartment can be finished with decorative polyurethane, wooden or PVC corners. For classic interiors, polyurethane baguette corners are used, these linings look quite presentable, but more importantly, they provide protection to the corner. Pasting corners with decorative flexible stone is very popular - an easy way to make an exclusive finish with your own hands.
Finishing under the stone can be done with clinker tiles, and natural stone, and artificial - gypsum or cement, stylized as antique masonry. Stone materials and blades are used for facades, and in an apartment corners are more popular with flexible bricks or polyurethane corners. Installation of heavy corners requires wall preparation - you need to remove all layers of coatings to a solid foundation.
