In addition to the standard set of features, such as remote control of various security modes, service car search, auto start engine at a preset time or temperature, the system is capable of self-diagnosis. All malfunctions in operation are recognized by the regular program and transferred to the main key fob in automatic mode:
- Security sensors turn on independently of each other, warning the owner about each disabled zone by indication on the key fob;
- Control over the alarm operation takes place in nine car security zones, while the causes of a breakdown or operation can be determined immediately by certain display symbols;
- The limit switches on the doors, hood and trunk lid are controlled by the system separately, any damage or incorrect operation of the “limit switch” is also reflected on the key fob display with an additional light indication;
- The ignition lock, engine blocking and central locking control are possible in two-step modes with a personal code - immobilizer and anti-robbery;
- Data on the temperature inside the car and under the hood are transmitted to the key fob separately, which allows you to independently adjust the comfortable interval for automatically starting the engine by alarm clock.
The advantage of the EX-8 over similar systems in its class is the independence of operation when the power is off. The classic move of any thief is to reset the battery terminal, de-energizing the car for the time it takes to turn off the alarm. In KGB EX-8, protection against such actions is implemented - the system itself reproduces its set state, and when power is restored, the security mode is activated again, warning the owner of an attempted hijacking by indication.
If an autonomous siren is installed in the car, it will turn on when the terminal is reset. The engine blocking mode works on the same principle: disabling the central lock connection unit becomes meaningless.
Connection
The EX-8 connection diagram provides for setting the programming parameters independently with the ability to quickly reset all settings to factory settings, and if key fobs are lost, a quick recovery with new feedback codes is available.
Synchronization occurs automatically with just five button presses additional keychain(without LCD display). It also helps to quickly replace the batteries in the main fob.
A rich selection of service functions does not mean the complexity of installing the G8 in any car. Instructions for KGB connection EX-8 contains all necessary information for the installer: compatibility problems with standard electronics are completely excluded.
The KGB EX-8 car alarm performs its functions either automatically or by key fob signals when the buttons are pressed. Some of the provided functions and some parameters of the alarm operation can be changed by programming.
The alarm is equipped with a 3-button remote control with feedback and a liquid crystal display (LCD) and a 3-button remote control without feedback with LED indication (LDI). The purpose of the control buttons 1, 2 and 3 of both remote controls is the same. The dynamic keyfob control code is protected from selection and interception. When the alarm executes commands sent from any key fob, changes the parameters and modes of operation of the alarm or triggers the alarm in armed mode, the corresponding information is transmitted to the receiver of the key fob with feedback and displayed on its indicator with the simultaneous activation of sound and vibration alerts, simultaneously turns on Neon lights indicator.
The key fob with feedback uses the original cursor method for selecting some control commands, in which different commands have their own icon displayed on the key fob indicator. In addition, the key fob indicator with feedback displays information about the current time, alarm clock, temperature in the car.
KGB EX-8 is a new generation of security systems. It has two-way communication and autorun. In terms of control range, the system reaches 1800 m. Before starting the engine from the key fob or activating automatic engine starts, it is imperative that you familiarize yourself with the following features of the operation of the engine start functions:
- For successful implementation of the functions of remote or automatic engine starts, the following parameters must be programmed at the alarm setting stage:
- type of gearbox of the car - manual box transmission (manual transmission) or automatic transmission (automatic transmission). To do this, on vehicles with manual transmission, it is necessary to cut the black loop in the wiring harness of the 18-pin connector central block. On vehicles with automatic transmission, the loop in the 18-pin harness must be retained.
- type of car engine - gasoline or diesel. To do this, enter the programming mode of function 10, table 2 and, depending on the type of engine, set the required delay time for turning on the starter after turning on the ignition at the first attempt to start the engine. For diesel engines, the starter turn-on delay required to warm up the candles is 4, 6, 10 seconds. For gasoline engines the delay is fixed at 4 seconds.
- for cars with start button - program function 8, table 2 to option 3. - Remote engine start cannot be carried out in the following cases: the ignition is on, the hood is open, the parking brake is turned off or the foot brake is pressed, preparations for starting the engine on vehicles with a manual transmission have not been completed.
- In one start cycle, the system can make 4 attempts to start the engine. If after the 4th attempt the engine does not start, then on the display of the key fob with feedback (provided that it is in the reception area) an inscription will be displayed, and the key fob will give 4 sound signal, indicating the end of attempts to start the engine. 4 flashes of dimensions will follow.
- The maximum time for the first attempt to crank the starter can be programmed by setting the alarm to 0.8; 1.2; 1.8 sec or 3.6 sec for any engine control. The time of each subsequent attempt to scroll the starter during one start cycle is automatically increased by 0.2 seconds.
- If the engine is started before the expiration of the maximum starter cranking time, the starter is switched off ahead of schedule.
- If a running engine stalls before the end of the programmed warm-up time, a new engine start cycle will be attempted.
- The automatic engine start function by temperature can be enabled regardless of the state of the alarm or timer auto engine start functions.
- Simultaneous activation of the functions of automatic engine start by an alarm clock and by a timer is not possible. Attempting to enable functions at the same time will result in the activation of the function that was activated last.
