GOST 30245-2003 regulates the basic requirements for the manufacture of closed welded profiles for building structures. Assortment of steel square pipes includes main dimensions:

  • For a square profile: from 40x40x2 to 300x300x14 mm.
  • For a rectangular profile: from 50x25x2 to 400x200x14 mm.

During the pipe development stage, round profiles with longitudinal seams are used, which are pressed with rolls to obtain a square or rectangular profile. Works are carried out on special mills. Steel is taken as the basis:

  • Sheet metal roll.
  • Carbon steel universal application.
  • Low-alloy thick-walled steel (from 3 mm or more), according to TU 14105509.

The removal of burrs from longitudinal seams is carried out with outer side design, the following deviations are allowed:

  • 0.5 mm - with a section of profile walls up to 0.4 cm.
  • 1 mm - with a metal cross section of 0.4 cm.

Quality finished products regulated by the main provisions of the assortment:

3 Assortment

3.1 The main parameters of the profile section are shown in fig. one.

3.2 Other indicators (S sec., axis and weight parameters for 1 m of the profile element) are determined by the corresponding indicators: for pipes with equilateral walls - table. one; for products rectangular shape- tab. 2.

3.3 Permissible errors in the thickness of the material correspond to the maximum deviations of the initial blanks with a width of 125 cm of the standard accuracy of rolled products "B" in accordance with GOST 199-03. Deviations are allowed in the bend areas.

3.4 The discrepancy between the height and width of products is calculated in%:

  • With dimensions (in height and width) up to 10 cm - ± 1, but not less than ± 0.5 mm;
  • Over 10 cm - ± 0.8.

3.5 Deviations of the radii of the outer circle are allowed:

  • If t
  • If 0.6
  • If t > 1 cm - from 2.401 t to 3.601 t.

3.6 Maximum size tolerance to the 90° angle is ±1°30" (in the transverse part of the structure).

3.7 The length of profile pipes is 600 - 1200 cm, and at the request of the customer 400 - 1300 cm:

  1. Unmeasured quantities.
  2. Dimensional parameters.
  3. Multiple measured sizes.

3.8 Maximum tolerances to the length of measured and multiple measured values ​​\u200b\u200bis equal to +6 cm.

3.9 Below are the conventional values ​​of bent electrowelded profile structures with vertical parameters = 18, horizontal section = 10, wall thickness = 0.5 cm. In this example, steel grade C245 according to GOST 277-72 is used:

Steel pipes quickly began to be used in construction as a frame element. Compared to cast metal rod, they favorably differed in lighter weight and lower cost with almost the same strength characteristics. However, there was also a disadvantage round form sections. This made it difficult to transport and store rolled metal, and most importantly, fastening.

The profile square pipe solved this problem.

Profile metal rolling: features

The main difference between a square or rectangular pipe is the presence of stiffeners. At round section the walls of the product equally resist internal and external pressure. But load-bearing element experiences just an uneven load - external and, as a rule, perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

The stiffening ribs take it upon themselves, providing more high strength. The use of the product is based on this quality.

The profile products of rolled metal products include:

  • square pipes - described by GOST 8639-82;
  • products of rectangular section - are used as a structural building material;
  • oval section - compared to a round conduit, it has a larger surface with the same volume, which allows you to effectively cool the transferred liquids and gas mixtures.

Production

The entire range of rolled products is produced in accordance with GOST 8639-82. This standard applies to cold worked, hot worked seamless and welded products.

Production of electric pipeline.

  1. Steel sheet - the strip is cut into strips. The strips are welded together to form a ribbon.
  2. On the forming rollers, a billet with an open seam is obtained.
  3. The seam is welded. Electrode, induction, laser welding and the like are used.
  4. The round billet is transferred to the sizing rolls, where it is formed into a square tube.
  5. The seam must be controlled. Possible deviations are described by GOST 8639-82.
  6. The finished product is cut to length.

Production of seamless pipeline.

  1. A solid metal bar is heated to a plastic state.
  2. On the piercing press, the bar is pressed in - a hollow sleeve is formed.
  3. The workpiece is rolled: stretched in order to obtain desired diameter and walls of a certain thickness. With a hot-formed sleeve, these operations are performed in a heated state, with a cold-formed sleeve, in a cooled state. The latter after molding is calcined to relieve internal stress.
  4. The round billet is transferred to the sizing rollers, where it is given a square shape.

If we are talking about high-precision steel products, then the product is galvanized. Zinc forms a protective layer on the inside and outer surface and successfully resists corrosion. In the photo - galvanized steel pipeline.

Square steel pipe: pros and cons

Advantages:

  • high mechanical strength- seamless products have higher strength than welded ones;
  • increased resistance to external loads;
  • durability;
  • lower material consumption compared to a solid bar, which significantly reduces the cost of use;
  • the ability to bend without heat treatment, which allows you to keep all the qualities of the material unchanged;
  • very convenient for transportation and storage, as it is easily stored;
  • less weight compared to all-metal products;
  • large assortment according to GOST 8639-82;
  • installation is possible not only by welding, but also with the help of bolts;
  • does not make it difficult to fix the elements.

The disadvantages include corrosion instability. Stability of galvanized products or with polymer coated higher.

Product range

The range of steel square pipes is regulated by GOST 8639-82. These are section parameters, wall thickness, length, weight (theoretical calculations) and possible deviations.

  • Section dimensions - from 10 * 10 180 * 180 mm. GOST 8639-82 describes standardized products. However, production with non-standard sizes is not prohibited if the technology and product parameters are agreed with the customer.
  • Wall thickness - from 1 to 14 mm.
