For the first time I saw a photo of such candy vases in a Japanese magazine. I don't know why, but I really like to sew them! Simplicity, originality and practicality - perhaps this is the whole point. And now all my relatives have such baskets :) Not only sweets, cookies or bread, but also all sorts of little things will look good in them (for example, I temporarily store woolen beads here). Accumulating my own experience and the experience of other needlewomen, I have prepared a detailed master class on sewing candy bowls for beginner craftsmen.

Sewing materials: matching fabrics, interlining, synthetic winterizer, ribbons or cords for ties.

How to do:

1. The size of the finished candy box is 25 * 25 cm in expanded form, the size of the bottom is 15 * 15 cm. Taking into account the allowances, we cut out the details: the main 27 * 27 cm, 2 sides 7 * 17 cm and 7 * 27 cm and the bottom 17 * 17 cm .

2. We grind the details of the bottom and short sides, iron the seams. For accuracy, auxiliary lines for stitching can be drawn on the bottom, the size of the bottom after stitching should be 15 * 15 cm!

3. Sew on long sides, iron the seams. We got two parts measuring 27 * 27 cm (solid and patchwork). We seal them with interlining.

4. We measure 8 pieces of cord or ribbon for ties and sew them by hand to the very edge:

5. Now you need to make sure that the vase acquires the necessary rigidity and keeps its shape well. Since my synthetic winterizer is not very dense, I played it safe and cut out 2 parts. If the synthetic winterizer is thick and dense, then one is enough.

And now a little trick: in order for the synthetic winterizer to turn from loose to dense, you need to steam it properly with an iron. We do this through the fabric at maximum mode.

We assemble the candy box as follows: a synthetic winterizer, details of the candy box with the front sides inward (do not forget to straighten all the ties), again a synthetic winterizer. If desired, the edges of the napkin holder can be rounded, I like it more. We fix the sandwich with pins and stitch it, leaving a place on the side for eversion. We fix the beginning and end of the seam with a reverse stitch so that it does not bloom during eversion.

We cut the synthetic winterizer close to the line, carefully turn the candy box inside out.

6. We straighten all the corners, iron and sew the hole with a blind seam.

The main thing is to clearly understand what kind of bread box you need - open type or closed. If it is open, everything will be very simple, but in the case of a closed one, it will be a little more complicated.

DIY open bread box

In order to make a small, convenient, beautiful and original bread box without a lid that will decorate your table for lunch, you need to stock up on the following materials:

• thick cardboard. You can take a box from some device and cut a piece right size;
• bright fabric that you will like and that will fit well into the interior of the room where the bread box will stand. It depends on the fabric whether it will turn out interesting. It is better to take cotton or linen. Last option especially relevant, because it is durable, natural, crumbs will not clog between its threads, but in the case of cotton this can happen;
• threads. You can also take bright ones if you want to make the seams stand out. In some cases, the fabric is sewn randomly and with thick threads so that this is noticeable;
• if desired, you can stock up on decor in the form of guipure ribbons, bows, openwork stripes, beads and other accessories.

However, such a product may not be suitable for permanent storage of bread. Even if you cover the bread with a towel, it will not stand for more than a night - it will start
dry up. Therefore, it is much more profitable to make a small open bread box to decorate the table.

It should not resemble a container or a tray with high sides, so 20 cm in diameter should be enough. The steps are quite simple:

• first we cut out a square or rectangle from a sheet of cardboard about 20 x 20 cm plus a few centimeters for the height of your bread box (about 5);
• then we mark with a pencil in the inside of the future bread box the places of the folds of the sides, as well as the bottom. We take a ruler or a knife (choose the blunt side) and make bends. This must be done very carefully so that the cardboard receives a minimum of cracks during the work;
• now you need to sew a "cover" for the bread box with your own hands.

It is desirable to make the cover for the bread box removable, since it will become dirty over time, and it will no longer be possible to put bread in such a place. Therefore, in order to be able to remove the fabric product for washing, it is necessary to provide for the possibility of removal.

Hostesses who have in their arsenal sewing machine, can easily sew a zipper on one side of the bread box. You can also make a couple of buttons, or you can completely limit yourself in another way.

For example, in order not to have to sew the product, it is enough just to hem the edges of the fabric so that they do not fray. It is also important to remember that the front of the fabric should be both at the bottom and on the sides and, of course, located in the inside of the bread box.

To do this, you need to sew a cover for a bread box in a special way.

Especially interesting option- even at the stage of forming a cardboard form along the side walls, you can make cuts right up to the bottom. And for each part, make its own separate case:

• first we sew the bottom for the bread box, which can be made soft by filling it with a small layer of cotton wool, which will create volume for the product;
• then we sew covers for the sides that need to be put on them;
• at the top edge of each side, one rope can be sewn, which will be tied together, fastening the sides of the bread box.

This version of the bread box is good because it can be covered, but not just with a towel, but with a special cape with an elastic band.

Remember what a swimmer's headgear looks like when removed? Approximately such a product is to be made.

Take a large piece of fabric, cut it in a circle, drawing a line in advance with a pencil. Now it remains only to process the edges and sew a thin elastic band into them. The size of such a “cap” should be selected depending on how the base turned out.

Do-it-yourself closed bread box

It can also be decorated with a bread box, but it is better for her to make more stylish option.

How to make a bread box from fabric with dimensions of 200 by 200 by 70 mm.

Necessary materials:

1. Cotton fabric 370 by 370 mm, two flaps
2. Cardboard or plastic, 2 mm thick, with dimensions of 180 by 180 mm and 180 by 60 mm.
3. Threads
4. Chalk
5. Ruler

Preparatory stage:

1) Tape the cardboard parts with adhesive tape on all sides

4) We put marks with chalk at a distance of 60 mm on all sides of each corner
5) We connect the marks so that we get a corner of the bread box and fasten it manually with a stitch stitch.

You can also sew a round bread box according to your size. It's whoever likes it.

How to make a textile bread box with your own hands

materials

• any cotton fabric, two squares 370×370 mm

The preparatory stage for the manufacture of breadbaskets

1. Paste cardboard parts on all sides with adhesive tape
2. Iron 15 mm seam allowances on the wrong side on all sides of the fabric parts.
3. Make a marking with chalk on the stitching of the bottom of the bread box (Fig.), Square 200 × 200 mm.

Mounting

1. Fold the fabric parts on top of each other with wrong sides inward, equalizing the cuts.
2. Sew 3 sides along the 200x200 markup, insert the cardboard bottom, stitch the fourth side.
3. Sew with a zigzag (or straight) stitch the edges of the bread box with an overlay seam with closed sections. You can insert cardboard sides in advance and use a one-sided foot or perform the operation in stages: first stitched the edge, then inserted the cardboard (and so on three sides, the fourth side will have to be stitched with the cardboard already supplied).
4. Put chalk marks on all sides at a distance of 60 mm from each corner.
5. Connect the marks, forming a voluminous corner of the bread box, and fasten manually with a overlock stitch bartack. You can sew ties from thin ribbons to the marks, even at the stage of stitching the sides, and then form a three-dimensional corner by simply tying them. Also protruding "ears" can be turned inside the bread box.

Crocheted bread box with dimensions 200×200×60 mm

materials

• yarn about 100 grams, depending on the type of thread

Note: for knitting a bread box, it is preferable to choose natural yarn medium hardness and thickness. It can be linen, multi-ply cotton, jute twine, twine, or metallic textured thread (as in our example).

• hook 4 or 5 (depending on the yarn)
• thread and hand needle.

Stages of work

1. Tie a chain of air loops 200 mm long.
2. Knit the side with half-columns without a crochet (or any other dense pattern) 200 × 60 mm.
3. Add on each side a chain of air loops 60 mm long, you should get a total length of 320 mm.
4. Knit the fabric with half-columns without a crochet 320 × 200 mm.
5. Step back from the edge of 60 mm and knit the last side 200 × 60 mm. The result should be a canvas, as in the photo, in the form of a cross. Depth of right angles 60×60 mm.
6. Fold the cut corners and sew, forming the volume.

A beautiful and comfortable textile biscuit bowl will decorate both festive and casual table. Making it with your own hands is very simple, for this you need to prepare matching cotton fabric, padding polyester, scissors, threads in the color of the fabric, decorative buttons and lace. A sewing machine will help speed up the sewing process.

Cutting details

Decide which fabric will be inside the cracker and which will be outside. In this case, the inner part will be made of white fabric with large red polka dots, and the outer part will be made of a single-color red fabric. Cut out of fabrics and synthetic winterizer one circle with a diameter of 24 cm.

Assembling a biscuit

Lay a synthetic winterizer on a red circle, and a polka-dot detail on it front side up. Pin all the details with tailor's pins.

Connect the workpieces with a simple stitch. To keep the seams of the stitches parallel to each other, use a special foot with a guide or a self-disappearing marker to draw parallel lines on the fabric.

Lay a simple basting stitch along the edge of the circle.

Tighten the thread and evenly distribute the folds.

Edge processing and decor

To beautifully cut the cut of the biscuit, measure the diameter of the neck. In this case, it is 16 cm. Multiply the resulting number by 3.14 - this is how you find the length of the neck circle and add 2 cm to the assembly. The result will be 52 cm. It is this length that the inlay will need. To cut it out of fabric with small polka dots at an angle of 45 degrees to the main thread, draw two parallel lines with an interval of 4 cm. Try to make the length of the resulting strip equal to or slightly more than 52 cm. tape the edge.

Sew bias trim to outside breadcrumbs face to face.

Raise the inlay, fold it inside the croutons, fold over and baste the edge.

With tailor's pins, fasten lace around the neck and only after that lay a straight line, connecting the inlay, lace and biscuit bowl together.
