Mirror decor with old CDs

You will need:

  • Mirror;
  • Base - round or square plywood sheet;
  • Old discs;
  • Glue;
  • Grout for seams;
  • Mirror fasteners.

So, glue the mirror onto a sheet of plywood or chipboard. Then take the discs and break them into fragments of different sizes and shapes. After that, start gluing them to the base, in a free order. In fact, you are making a mosaic.

In addition to discs, you can use pieces of tiles or broken dishes.

When the gluing is completed, if necessary, grout the seams with a special grout, let it dry and attach the mirror to the wall.

Echoes of the sea

From the materials you will need:

  • Basis - chipboard or plywood;
  • Mirror;
  • Shells, corals, starfish;
  • Good paint glue;
  • Fasteners if you will hang a mirror.

Glue the mirror to the base and then decorate the rest of the plywood with shells, coral, and more. If desired, you can cover them with varnish and pour a small amount of sparkles.

If the mirror is wall-mounted, then install the fasteners. If not, put it in a certain place.

Acrylic decor

If you know how to draw at least patterns, then this is the easiest way to design a mirror.

You need to purchase:

  • Acrylic paints in a tube for drawing (or just in a jar, but then you need a brush);
  • The mirror itself;
  • Optional glue and beads.

We draw beautiful patterns on the mirror and let the paint dry. Then, you can decorate with beads by gluing it in certain places.

The end result is this beauty.

Mirror "Sun"

To create such a mirror you need:

  • Round mirror;
  • Decorative clothespins with a pattern or simply multi-colored.

We take a mirror and attach clothespins to it in such a way that we get the sun. And then we attach it to the wall.

Spoon mirror

As always, you will need:

  • Round mirror;
  • Plywood;
  • Plastic white spoons;
  • Paint in two colors: blue and cyan or black and yellow;
  • Silicone glue;
  • Textile;

Take a mirror and glue it in the center of the base. Then, take any fabric and glue it to the protruding part of the plywood. And only then, you can glue the tops of the spoons, laying out the flower.

Important! Fabric in the decoration of the mirror is optional. If the spoons stick well to plywood, you can do without it.

When everything is ready, you can start painting. The spoons are closer to the center, that is, the mirror needs to be painted with dark paint approximately, the first two rows, and all the rest with light.

You can make a gradient from dark to light. And you can paint in one color. It all depends on your preferences.

When the paint dries, the mirror can be fixed.

How to decorate a mirror so that it is very unusual and beautiful? If you are asking this question, then here is the answer.

Tube mirror

You need:

  • Tubes of different diameters from toilet paper and paper towels;
  • Glue;
  • sequins;
  • The basis for the mirror is a plastic container;
  • Hooks.

We take the tubes and cut. In width, 1-2 cm is enough. The number of circles is up to you, but the more, the more effective. Of course, you need to consider the place where the mirror will be attached. If a whole wall is reserved for it, then do not regret it.

When the cutting is finished, take the hooks and the first rings in the row, you need to screw them to the base under the mirror, as shown in the photo.

The remaining rings are glued to each other. After gluing the rings, you need to insert a mirror into the base and also glue it with a good glue.

Then, we take sequins of any color and carefully glue them on the ends of all the circles. This is perhaps the most painstaking work.

But as a result, you will get such beauty.

There is no limit to fantasies, even if it is a mirror design! After all, today creative people come up with new ideas that allow you to get quite interesting, unusual combinations of a mirror with materials that are always at hand. As a matter of fact, they are surprised by the fact that it is very easy and simple for them to decorate the mirror with their own hands. You just need to know what materials to use and how to get not just a quick handmade, but a really neat, beautiful and stylish mirror accessory. In which it is pleasant to look not only by yourself, but also so that it would not be a shame to show guests, friends and just acquaintances.

In this article, we will show you new ideas on how to decorate a mirror with your own hands.

DIY mirror decor - a circle in circles

A creative approach to business can be a great tool in getting a very stylish accessory. We called this idea "Circle in Circles" because a round mirror is framed by several dozen white, plastic rings.

DIY mirror decor photo

And these rings are obtained from an ordinary plastic pipe. The complexity of the process is only that you need to cut the rings very carefully. They must be the same width, otherwise the product will not turn out neat. To do this, it is better to use an electric "trimming" saw with a disc with fine teeth. If one is not available, a miter box can be used.

A glue gun is used to fasten the rings, they can glue all the rings almost imperceptibly. But before that, the sections of each ring must be treated with fine sandpaper to remove all burrs. After all, we make a beautiful accessory, so everything should be neat in it.

Rings can be glued in any way, optionally, as in the photo, the composition can have both a square and an oval shape. It is recommended to do it in accordance with the shape of the mirror.

The mirror itself is glued to the rings and also with a glue gun exactly in the middle. All parts to be glued must first be cleaned of dust, they can also be degreased. You can hang the product to the wall directly on the rings.

Thus, you can make a composition of two or three mirrors, and so that it does not look lonely, you can “support” it, for example, with glass vases or a white table, like the author’s.

Mirror frame made of disposable spoons

The idea may not be new, but it deserves attention. Because the result is very good. To work, you will need a lot of disposable spoons. The author used 288 pieces for the project. The amount may be less, depending on the size of the mirror and the frame itself. But remember, the product must be self-sufficient and neat, otherwise, how can they brag to the guests!

You will also need:

  • Cardboard or MDF sheet 5-8 mm thick
  • glue gun
  • Paint and brushes

First of all, you need to cut a circle of the desired diameter from a sheet of cardboard, it will be the base, the spoons will stick to it. Inside the circle in the center, another circle is cut out slightly larger than the diameter of the mirror. On the resulting cardboard ring, markings are made - to fix the first row of spoons (draw a circle with a pencil indented from the edge of 1 cm).

The most difficult stage in the work is gluing the cups together. The work is dreary and long, it does not tolerate fuss and haste. You should start with the outer circle according to the markup. The last, inner row, is glued not to the cardboard, but to the previous row, so that 2-3 cm of the cups hang down.

The photo below was taken just before this step.

When all the spoons are fixed and the glue has dried, we proceed to staining. The author of the idea from 7 rows painted the 4th inner ones. Any color can be used depending on the idea. In our situation, the master created the image of a chrysanthemum flower, which he did well by choosing the right color and shape.

Coloring the composition should also be for the reason that to hide the cheap sheen of plastic. But first it must be treated with a primer so that the paint lays down better and does not form smudges. Acrylic paint was used for coloring.

Important point: the reverse hanging side of the inner row of spoons is also painted, because the mirror will be glued to it. If this is not done, the mirror will reflect it.

When the paint is completely dry, the mirror is fixed to the frame using the same gun. And a rope is glued to it or cardboard, it is for it that the product is hung on the wall

Here's what will come of it!

A mirror is an indispensable item in a home interior; almost no room can do without it. In addition to the need to see our reflection in the mirror every day, we actively use mirrors to decorate and create a certain style.

Recently, the mirror has been actively used as a decorative item; various, sometimes whimsical, shapes or framed in an original frame, it brings an element of exclusivity to the interior and emphasizes the creative nature of its owners.

You can make a unique thing out of a simple mirror with your own hands, showing your imagination and bringing your own unique ideas to life.

For example, we offer three options for decorating a mirror to convince you how amazingly easy and interesting it is to decorate a mirror, what an exciting creative process it is, and what a great result.

Option one: cereal

Yes, yes, do not be surprised, it is cereals - rice, millet, pearl barley, buckwheat. The main thing is that it be coarse-grained, the grains of cereals should ultimately resemble beads.

Glue masking tape along the outer edge of the mirror, forming a frame. The next inner layer of the frame is double-sided tape, and again masking tape. The result is a triple frame. We spread the grits on a double-sided adhesive tape, smooth it with our hands, press it tightly against the adhesive tape, trying to get a frame that is uniform in thickness, which we cover with a gold spray. We remove the masking tape and get a three-dimensional frame, as if made of identical gold beads. On the outer and inner edges of the resulting frame, you can glue a little beads or glass beads; in color, they should be combined with gold, complementing or shading it. A glamorous mirror is ready to decorate your interior.

Option two: dry twigs

Dry twigs of different sizes can be picked up under the trees in the yard of your house. Glue a mirror onto a thin sheet of plywood using liquid nails. The size of the plywood should be larger than the mirror, as a result, a plywood frame is obtained, on which to lay out and glue the tree branches. Twigs primed and painted with plain paint. Between the branches, you can glue dry flowers, an artificial butterfly or dragonfly. Another exclusive, made by hand, will delight you with its simplicity and originality.

Option three: lace

Well, it's very simple. Any lace napkins, you can even use a paper napkin from under the cake. Put a napkin on a mirror, fix and cover with a frost resistant spray. If you want to get only a thin lace pattern, then you need to cover the outer edges of the napkin with paper, otherwise you will unwittingly cover part of the mirror around the napkin with the spray. In this case, a frosty frame with a lace pattern along the inner edge will turn out on the mirror - also very beautiful.

What other materials are used to decorate mirrors?

It can be pasta, coffee beans, corks, buttons, beads, shells, stained glass paints and a huge number of design options for mirrors and mirror frames, the main thing is to approach this matter creatively and boldly, and you will get an excellent result that will constantly delight you and surprise your guests.
