We turn to the most difficult thing in this, which cuts the bottle into a ribbon of different widths. We cut out dozens of three blanks from plywood. Let's show one. Width, like a stalk. It is 37 mm. 10 cm long. Glue with superglue. When dry, mark the middle, and retreat 12 mm on each side. The result is 24 mm, so that extra millimeters remain, which we will grind, driving the slider to the cuttings.
We drill holes on each side with a 25-point drill bit. If the handle is 40 mm, then you will have to take a 38 mm drill. Since - 37, even 36 and a half, we take 35, in order to drive it away with a file in the future.

Glued and drilled 3 bars. It turns out the preparation. With the help of a file, we adjust it under the handle - one, and then the other side.
When the slider is made, we retreat from the plate 70 mm and make a slot on both handles with a hacksaw for wood. We cut on one third of the handle. If you are led away, level out by one third as well.
Then, when they sawed through one third, they leveled the slot, then we cut it with a hacksaw for metal to the middle.
Insert the blade into the cut. I took a trapezoidal one, since it is tougher than usual, and just fits here. You can take from a clerical knife. We adjust with self-tapping screws - 4 and 2 by 13 mm.
We cut out guides from plywood 10 long, 1 cm wide. inside cuttings opposite each other. Between them there should be a distance of 2-3 mm. If necessary, we grind with a file, or a chisel. When fully prepared, glue to the handles.
We put on a bottle and back side designate the place of the guides on the slider. And we drive in 2 nails at a distance of 1 mm. Nails - 32 mm for one and eight. Before hammering nails, it is better to drill holes of 1 mm.
To clamp the slider, we drill holes for a self-tapping screw 25 mm below the blade on the right, or on the left side. Yellow zinc 6 by 40. I made a 5 mm hole for it. For convenience, I glued a lamb to the self-tapping screw.
In order not to measure the distance each time with a ruler, or a caliper, you can cut out part of the ruler and fix it on a bottle cutter. Do the installation of the ruler each for yourself empirically.
