Original ideas for creating beautiful decorations for your garden (photo). Lighthouse. Decor in a marine style from waste materials Decorative lighthouse in the country

Lighthouses are a popular decorative motif for landscape design. And not only because they have real-life counterparts that adorn many amazing landscape shots, but because they symbolize reliability, safe harbor and protection, setting the right mood in the garden. As usual, our decorative beacon is surprisingly easy to assemble. And it even glows in the dark! This lighthouse is portable, so you can use it everywhere from the garden at the summer cottage to the veranda, on the beach or on a country trip.

Initial materials and tools:

4 proportional clay pots without coating - varnish / enamel, etc. (1 large, 1 medium, 1 small and 1 very small); - 2 identical saucers for pots - small; - acrylic paint for outdoor work - colors of your choice; - permanent glue; - a glass candlestick, commensurate with small pots, or an LED candle of a similar size right away (a lot of options can be purchased on the Internet inexpensively); - a small safe candle (artificial, without fire) on batteries; - small brushes different sizes for paint. 1. Choose pots for the project depending on the final desired size of the beacon. The only thing that may be difficult is to find a miniature pot, so it's better to buy the smallest one available, and then, starting from it, buy the other 3 pieces. If you are using used pots, start by cleaning them completely of any dirt, dust, earth, etc.

2. Using outdoor (outdoor) acrylic paint - i.e. waterproof and impact resistant various substances- paint the rims of three clay pots in one color (white, red), and the rest of the pots in another (blue, blue, red). Apply the paint in 3 layers, allowing the layers to dry completely before the next coating. Now we are working only with large, medium and small pots. Engage in painting on the street or wide open open windows so as not to inhale the caustic substance.

3. Only after all 3 layers of paint on the rims have dried, paint the main part of the pots. Same with 3 layers.

4. With black paint and a small brush, draw rectangles on the dry pots. These will be the windows. If it’s difficult for you to do this by hand, first make outlines with a pencil or use tape / masking tape to seal the borders for the lines on both sides, creating a kind of template. Finally, it is much more convenient to work here with a dry brush than with a wet one, because in this case the paint will not flow.

5. Take the saucers and paint both sides of them in a color that contrasts with the rest of the lighthouse. 3 layers. Paint the smallest clay pot with the same color. From these three elements we will assemble the luminous part of the lighthouse, its top. Let all parts dry completely.

6. Turn the largest pot upside down, put it on flat surface. Squeeze a little permanent glue on the edges of the bottom of this pot around the entire perimeter. Put some more glue on inside the top rim of a medium-sized pot. Make sure all adhesive is and will only be on the inside.

7. Turn the medium pot upside down and put it on top of the large pot. Press a little, making sure that the pot sits evenly, tightly, and the glue does not leak out. Repeat almost all the same with a small pot. Allow the structure to dry completely following the instructions on the glue package.

8. Squeeze some glue onto the base of the small pot and press one of the saucers against it. The saucer is NOT (!) upside down. Make sure the glue doesn't run.

9. Turn the second saucer upside down. Apply a little glue to the top bezel miniature pot, turn the pot upside down and glue the pot with the rim to the saucer. This is a "cover" for the luminous compartment of the beacon.

10. Place a candlestick with an artificial candle inside or the artificial LED candle itself on the top of the lighthouse - in the center of the saucer. Do not stick, as the candle will need to be replaced in the future. Turn on the candle. Cover the structure on top with our homemade "lid". Your lighthouse is ready!

Warning: never use a real candle with a real flame in the lighthouse!

Unusual country toilet in the form of a lighthouse made by hand

The highlight of the project lies in the composting action of a conventional water closet, made in unusual shape lighthouse. The article provides detailed instructions and some schemes so that you can quickly and correctly build a functional flush toilet in the country with your own hands.

Choosing a place to build a toilet

Competent construction of a country toilet is a relevant and burning topic. After all, to equip a comfortable bathroom or Summer shower without connecting to the central sewer is not so easy.

The toilet should be removed from other residential and utility buildings

A well-designed restroom should meet the following requirements:

    1. No pollution environment and especially groundwater. With the increase in the number of summer residents, the natural sewage filtration system is weakening more and more. As a result, human waste products get into drinking water.
    2. Comfort. If the cottage is visited only during the warm period, the question of heating latrine removed. But if you plan to stay on the site during the cold season, it is advisable to take care of your own comfort in advance. This category also includes the requirement for correct organized ventilation. Since the presence of an unpleasant odor does not contribute to the convenience of summer residents.
    3. Compliance legislative norms. According to the prescribed requirements, the toilet must be removed from the following objects:
  • from neighboring buildings - by 12 m;
  • from children's institutions - 20 m;
  • from water sources - 25 m.

In some cases, when the development has already taken shape, a special commission may violate these standards. The commission consists of a district architect, a sanitary doctor and representatives of the housing committee.

Types of country bathrooms

There are several types of outdoor latrines built without access to a central sewer.

Scheme: construction of a play closet

Toilets with septic. A septic tank is an airtight cesspool, from time to time emptied by a sewage machine, or manually. Most often, latrines of this type are called backlash closets. It is quite troublesome to build such a toilet in the country with your own hands. There are also interesting options in which the special organization of the septic tank allows you to turn an ordinary toilet into a machine for producing high-quality compost. The only condition limiting the widespread use of buildings of this type is a ban on draining water. Since an excessive amount of water leads to fermentation and stop the processing of waste.

Scheme: arrangement of a septic tank for a toilet from car tires

Restrooms with cesspool. A cesspool, unlike a septic tank, does not have a sealed bottom. It is organized in such a way as to ensure the maximum possible filtration of waste. To do this, the bottom of the pit is covered with rubble, sand, or a sheet of geotextile is laid. Periodically, in this embodiment, it also becomes necessary to pump out the contents of the pit. Or they simply bury the hole and transfer the toilet to another place.

Drawing: types of powder closets

"Dry" bathrooms or powder closets using peat or sawdust. These types of toilets do not have a pit in principle. To collect sewage, a container (bucket, tank) is provided, which periodically needs to be taken out to the compost heap. Or bury the contents in different places.

Washing machine drum toilet

However craftsmen came up with another type of restroom - combined. His scheme combines the features of an eco-friendly powder closet and the usual flushing device. Such a toilet for giving with your own hands has both pros and cons.

The process of building a toilet from a drum from washing machine

Advantages

  • no need to dig a deep hole or equip a sealed septic tank;
  • built simply and quickly, using improvised materials;
  • does not give unpleasant odors, does not require ventilation;
  • provides competent water drainage from the washbasin, shower, toilet bowl and kitchen sink;
  • the recyclable waste receiver should be cleaned no more than once every 2-4 years.

disadvantages

  • the need to connect to the mains;
  • work requires constant water supply (availability of water supply);
  • the produced compost may contain minor chemical impurities, therefore it is not suitable for fertilizing the garden.

Preparatory work before construction

How to build a combination toilet? First you need to decide on its type. Will the bathroom be equipped inside a residential building, or will it be taken outside. In the first case, you only need to ensure the removal of sewage and equip a special receiver. In the second, the construction of a toilet cubicle will be added to the tasks set.

Pre-treatment of parts for building a toilet

To build a waste bin you will need:

  • crushed stone or gravel, as well as sand and geofabric;
  • corrugated board, polycarbonate or plastic pallets, brick;
  • an old tank from a washing machine or a small perforated plastic barrel;
  • peat.

To organize a drain you will need:

  • toilet pump - chopper with a volume of 1 × 1 m;
  • flexible PVC hose, reinforced suction-pressure type with a diameter of 32 mm, plumbing pipe and plastic corner 40 mm;
  • electricity generator (in case of problems with frequent power outages).

How to build a composting flush toilet

Scheme: a toilet device based on a drum from a washing machine
  1. A hole is dug (0.5 m - depth, 2 m - length, 2 m - width). The bottom is 10-15 cm covered with gravel or crushed stone. A piece of geofabric is laid on top. 10-15 cm of sand is poured over it. Such a system will qualitatively filter that part of the waste that seeps through the receiver. For greater reliability, plastic pallets can be installed on the drainage cushion, covered with a grate on top.
  2. Walls and a canopy are being built from improvised materials. As such materials, for example, corrugated board or plastic pallets can be used.
  3. A pedestal 25 cm high is built from several bricks for a drum from washing machine. A drum is installed on the pedestal, a drum is attached to it at an angle of 90 ° drain hose.
  4. A tank is connected to the drain system. From above, it is covered with peat, the layer of which should rise 10-15 cm above the tank. Periodically, you will need to add new peat.
Attention! Due to the pressure from the grinder pump, the waste will hit the surface of the drum, evenly distributed around its perimeter. Through the holes in the tank, the pulp will slowly seep into the peat.

Drain system equipment

Toilet macerator pump
  1. The toilet bowl and sink are connected to a grinding type pump. If the system needs to be connected kitchen sink and shower - for them is installed additional pump.
  2. A flexible hose is drawn from the pump to the tank of the washing machine, which is located in the receiver.
  3. A corner is connected to the drain pipe, giving a right angle. It winds up in the drum from below.

toilet cubicle design

Lighthouse-shaped toilet cubicle

The creative end of the project is a lighthouse cabin. The building instructions for this piece of art are as follows:

  • on a flat piece of land, a hole is dug 0.3 m deep, the bottom of which is covered with a 20-centimeter sand cushion;
  • 10 cm is placed on top base plate with fittings;
  • a frame made of profiles for mounting drywall is installed on the slab (the frame repeats the shape of the lighthouse, tapering towards the top);
  • inside the frame is sheathed with moisture-resistant drywall, outside - flat slate, the slots are blown out with mounting foam;
  • a visor is also cut out of drywall, which is attached above the door with self-tapping screws and mounting foam;
  • the roof is covered with corrugated board;
  • the surface of the slate is primed with concrete contact (a thick cement mortar, which is applied with careless slaps to the prepared slate; cement layer thickness from 3 mm to 8 mm);

Advice! Ideal for finishing works a spatula with a width of 10 cm is suitable for this type. You need to apply the solution on 1 m2, and then let the finish dry.

  • after drying the solution, using building level and hacksaws "draw" an imitation brickwork;
  • seams 1 cm wide are cut with a hacksaw and cleaned from crumbs with a paint brush;
Advice! The “brick” looks more beautiful about 1 cm less than the standard one.
  • after the solution has completely solidified, the surface is painted in contrasting red and white colors;
  • the bottom of the building is laid out by 0.5 m from natural flat stone, or artificial material imitating stone;
  • a large lantern is installed on the roof.

After installing all the plumbing, you can safely enjoy the aesthetics of such an intimate room!

Crafts from pots | For summer residents.ru

This is another great landscaping idea. Crafts from pots always fit very harmoniously into almost any garden design. And it doesn’t matter if it will be plastic pots or high-quality clay pots, the result is different, but in any case it is equally positive.

So what interesting things can be done from pots?

1. Humans and animals.

Here are some ideas for inspiration:

To make such beauties and beauties is not at all difficult. To do this, you will need: wire and a thick wooden skewer, cut into pieces. We fasten as shown in the pictures. We draw facial features on the pot, which will be the head, in advance, even before fastening, it is much more convenient. And in conclusion, it remains only to fill the pot-head with soil and plant "hair", straight or curls, decide for yourself. Instead of hair, you can wear a hat or hat on your head.

If you don’t have so many pots, it would be a good idea to make the arms and legs of a little man out of ropes. They are attached with a hot glue gun or superglue.

So you can create a whole family of pot men:

Animals made from pots also look very original.

You may have noticed that some of the submitted works are painted, while others are not. And here I just want to say a few words about the material of the pots from which the figurine is assembled. Of course, whether to leave the work in its original form or not is an exclusively master's business. However, I would like to note that figurines from good clay pots and their brown plastic imitation look best without staining. But metal pots, for example, especially if you plan to place the figurine in the fresh air, we still recommend painting it. Otherwise, beauty will not last long.

Before painting, go over the plastic and metal pots with sandpaper, then prime them and only then decorate them. On clay, the paint lays down perfectly without pre-training. But to cover everything in conclusion with varnish (for all pots) is still worth it, again for durability.

More ideas for funny little men can be found in this video: 2. Lighthouse.

O! This is a very original and beautiful version of the evening lighting of the garden or highlighting its individual parts. We really enjoyed this find!

For the lighthouse, choose the most elongated pots, they will look better. The material of the pot is not important.

We collect the "pyramid": a pot-stand, a pot-stand. We coat each part of the pyramid with glue. plastic pots pre-treated with skin. Lighthouse assembly primed and painted, drawing windows. At the top we install a lantern on batteries (conventional or solar) or a candlestick with a candle or a round cover with a light bulb ( electrical wire easily hides inside the structure if you drill holes in the stands).

3. Drinking bowl / bath for birds.

Incredibly simple and very effective at the same time. As practice shows, birds really like such baths. And the birds in the garden, as you know, are great helpers. Moreover, they help not only to collect berries))), but also to fight pests.

The principle of assembling a drinker is the same as in the case of a lighthouse. Chief Assistant- Super glue.

4. Bird feeder.

Speaking of birds, this is how you can easily turn a pot into a feeder:

5. Flower towers and other structures for planting flowering plants.

This case is the only one of all those listed where the pots, in principle, are used for their intended purpose. But just planting a plant in a pot is so boring! Whether business flower towers! See how bright and original they look:

The principle of collecting the first version of the pyramid is always the same: we string pots like beads on a metal pin, tilt them in different sides and fill with soil Finally, we plant plants. If you plan to paint the structure - do it in advance, before assembly.

But there may be several principles for assembling the second version of the pyramid. Choose the one you like the most:

6. Bells.

If you turn the pot over, then most of all it will remind you ... that's right - a bell! You can also take advantage of this by making these decorations for the garden and home:

7. Toys.

Any thing in the hands of a child can turn into an object for games, transform into a completely different thing. Kids have a much better imagination than adults and they will definitely find many uses for any simple items, including a potty. Maybe they'll build a fairy house out of it in the garden (oh fairy houses we wrote here), and perhaps they will build a space rocket, like this one:

And finally, as always, a completely crazy idea walking on the Internet:

garden scarecrow

Let's get acquainted with the features of each of them.

Non-functional jewelry

This includes those decorations that perform an exclusively decorative function, that is, there is no practical use for them. These are various figurines, souvenirs and crafts. However, many of these ornaments could very well be the highlight of any garden. Here, for example, are crafts made from smooth stones painted with acrylic paint (although you can take any other). Moreover, for greater effect, you can use fluorescent paint.

Pebble decor

Great crafts can be made from old boards and stones. Additionally, you can use beads, multi-colored glass and all the same acrylic paint. From all this you can make funny figures of men, animals, gnomes or insects. At night, such sculptures will look like magic lanterns if the stones are painted fluorescent paint. And from ordinary steel wire and golf balls you can make such cute ants.

Garden decor, cutlery used

But the most economical of materials is plastic, more precisely, old plastic bottles of various sizes. You can literally make anything out of them - piglets (more on this later), elephants, proud swans or cute sparrows that can be seated along the fences. And if you take another nail polish, you can decorate the garden with such multi-colored butterflies carved from plastic bottles.

Plastic Jewelry

Composition of plastic for the garden

Note! Decorative elements from plastic bottles are recommended to be placed as far as possible in the depths of the garden, especially if there are small children in the family. The fact is that you can accidentally cut yourself on the cut edges of the bottles.

A lot of decorative elements can be made from rusty metal sheets, pipes, and old tools. For example, here is such a woodpecker, for the manufacture of which corrugated board was used and Circular Saw.

Metal decor in the form of a bird

To create colorful mushrooms in the garden, you can use dishes (including disposable ones), unnecessary children's toys.

Decorations for flower beds and beds

Functional Jewelry

These are elements that successfully combine decorativeness and functionality, i.e. they are not only beautiful, but also bring certain benefits. If you have old plastic / iron tubs or other containers, you can use them to create garden ponds. You can plant in ponds aquatic plants or run fish. Additionally, you can use tiles, pebbles or boulders, as well as decorate the shore of reservoirs with other elements - for example, such lighthouses made of painted plant pots.

Beacons for the pond

You can enclose the borders of the pond with concrete blocks or granite, as shown in the image below.

Strictly geometric blocks for decorating the shores of the reservoir

Do not forget about plants - you can use car tires, buckets or plastic bottles to create extraordinary flower beds. Moreover, many make flower beds out of chairs, beds and chests of drawers. It is also better not to get rid of old stumps, because you can make excellent flowerpots from them by planting flowering plants there. Why, even a work boot can be painted, placed on a mosaic ball and something can be grown there.

Spectacular transformation of an old shoe into new pot for a flower

Perfect for the role of a pot stand and an old bicycle that can be completely painted if desired.

Bicycle as flower stand

Note! If you use stumps as flowerpots, then plant flowers in clay pots, since planting them directly in wood is not worth it - it will rot from moisture.

Plants in stumps

Very simple yet beautiful element can be done using paint cans (preferably with streaks) as flowerpots.

Old banks in the role flower pots

Do not rush to throw away old wooden chairs - you can make beautiful swings out of them and paint them with bright paint.

And here's another one original version- using an old hanging birdcage for planting succulent plants.

Succulents look great in a birdcage

rare gardens do without the sonorous bird song. And to make the birds feel comfortable, you can make beautiful birdhouses for them, decorated with decoupage and other decorative elements. Birdhouses themselves can be made from old furniture or leftover boards.

They grow much slower, but also look more expensive. Beyond comparison in this case wild grapes. Grape leaves gradually change their color and retain their beauty until frost. It is easy to draw on any fence, but it is easier on a corrugated fence.

We make flower beds and flower beds

To transform the summer cottage and bring color to its atmosphere will help flower beds. When choosing plants, be sure to consider them individual characteristics. First of all, it is worth deciding on the flowers "soloists", that is, the main plants in the flower bed. The choice can be stopped at three or four types.

The design of flowers with ornamental herbs and leaves of an interesting shape looks beautiful. With them, the flower bed will be original, even when the flowers do not bloom. But do not try to place a lot of different plants in the country. The territory of the site should look holistically and harmoniously.

Of course, it’s not enough just to plant flowers beautifully. The flower beds also decorated around look more original. The composition must be complete.

Flower beds can be decorated using any unnecessary items. The article has already said that it is easy to make small flower beds from old tires painted in bright colors. When making and decorating a summer cottage, it is worth remembering that a summer cottage is a place of rest from everyday life and bustle of the city. It should be comfortable and calm, and the environment should be pleasing to the eye. It is important not to overload the territory with crafts or some kind of design solutions, everything should be in moderation. Imagine, create, surprise!

Various handmade decorations are able to emphasize the natural beauty of a suburban area and bring hidden design talents to reality (and almost all of us have such talents). But before you start directly to work, first examine your stocks. And do not forget about one sacred rule of all summer residents: do not throw anything away.

To create original garden decorations, you will need absolutely unnecessary, it would seem, things: old dishes and furniture, holey shoes, car tires, barrels, plastic bottles, scraps of building materials, firewood, etc. The most effective ways are the use of plastic, stones and wood. For example, from old cans you can make such a cute Tin Woodman, who, as you can see, still managed to find his heart.

And cans of beer and other carbonated drinks come in handy for creating cute balloon lanterns that can be hung next to the window.

The main thing in the manufacture of various decorative elements is a sense of style. Therefore, first decide on a style orientation, taking into account the area of \u200b\u200bthe territory, the existing design style, as well as your capabilities and wishes.

All ideas for decorating a garden can be divided into two large groups:

  • non-functional;
  • functional.

Great crafts can be made from old boards and stones. Additionally, you can use beads, multi-colored glass and all the same acrylic paint. From all this you can make funny figures of men, animals, gnomes or insects. At night, such sculptures will look like magic lanterns if the stones are painted with fluorescent paint. And from ordinary steel wire and golf balls you can make such cute ants.

Note! You can involve your children in working with applications and paints. Believe me, you will have a great time this way.

Even old cutlery can come in handy. Of these, you can make, for example, such a dragonfly.

Recently, it has been very fashionable to decorate the site with all sorts of colorful characters made by oneself. From old spoons, you can make such a hanging decoration in the form of a fisherman and small fish.

But back to plastic. It can be used to create not only animals, but also various plants (palm trees, cacti, roses, daisies, etc.). It may even be a fabulous flower that will delight the eyes of science fiction fans.

For example, here is such a woodpecker, for the manufacture of which corrugated board and a circular saw were used.

To create colorful mushrooms in the garden, you can use dishes (including disposable ones), unnecessary children's toys.

Functional Jewelry

These are elements that successfully combine decorativeness and functionality, i.e. they are not only beautiful, but also bring certain benefits. If you have old plastic / iron tubs or other containers, you can use them to create garden ponds. You can plant aquatic plants or fish in the ponds. Additionally, you can use tiles, pebbles or boulders, as well as decorate the shore of reservoirs with other elements - for example, such lighthouses made of painted plant pots.

You can enclose the borders of the pond with concrete blocks or granite, as shown in the image below.

Perfect for the role of a pot stand and an old bicycle that can be completely painted if desired.

Note! If you use stumps as flowerpots, then plant flowers in clay pots, since planting them directly in wood is not worth it - it will rot from moisture.

A very simple, but at the same time beautiful element can be made using paint cans (preferably with streaks) as flowerpots.

Do not rush to throw away old wooden chairs - you can make beautiful swings out of them and paint them with bright paint.

And here is another original option - the use of an old hanging birdcage for planting succulent plants.

Rare gardens do without the sonorous bird song. And to make the birds feel comfortable, you can make beautiful birdhouses for them, decorated with decoupage and other decorative elements. Birdhouses themselves can be made from old furniture or remnants of boards.

A bright birdhouse can be made from an old Lego constructor that children no longer play with.

And if you live near a park, you can make a squirrel feeder. To make it, you will need a toy chair, which should be attached to the tree with two self-tapping screws. On a long self-tapping screw attached to the chair, wind a head of corn, which you will periodically change later.

Prepare for work:

  • scotch;
  • 6-7 m of polyethylene (preferably 150 microns - this film is used in greenhouses);
  • aluminum wire;
  • 5 l bottle;
  • isolon.

After that, proceed to the main manufacturing stage.

Step 1. Having thought over the dimensions of the figurine, make a frame out of wire and a bottle as shown in the image below.

Step 2. Cut the isolon into thin strips, wrap the frame around them. For greater reliability, fasten the strips with tape.

Step 3 Cut the plastic wrap into strips. Give them a fringe by making small cuts on one side.

Step 4 Wrap the film strips (fringe on the outside) around the frame, starting from the tail. Burn the film periodically (use a heated screwdriver) to attach it to the main element.

Step 5 Similarly, separately make the wings, attach them to the body.

Step 6 There are several possible options for how to make the backlight in this case. You can, for example, take an ordinary round lantern and insert it into a bottle, after making a hole. You can also decorate the outside of the bird with flexible LED tubes.
