Because it was originally created with the idea of ​​interacting with the iPhone or iPad, although later Android support also appeared. But iOS is the priority, and now the client for this platform is somewhat more functional than its robo-brother. In fact, the product is a highly intelligent car security system with a serious software and hardware stuffing - in, how wrapped it up! But I'm not exaggerating. The Pandora DXL 5000 is based on a full-fledged 32-bit ARM processor, a powerful radio path and a whole set of sensors and auxiliary devices, which are easily integrated into the car, interacting wirelessly with each other. Yes, yes, you don’t have to pull the wires and pick the skin. That is, for all its sophistication, the system is quite easily integrated into the car and, moreover, works directly with its CAN bus. But I'm getting ahead of myself a little.

Given the vastness of the topic, the article will be divided into several parts. First, let's talk about the device itself, the kit and its hardware capabilities. Then let's move on to the software part, where we will take a closer look at the possibilities of interaction between the Pandora DXL 5000 and the iPhone and the features of the iOS client, including a live video demonstration. This is the de facto standard in modern cars and, in fact, it is a network that combines all the sensors and systems of the car. Commands are sent to the equipment through it, system diagnostics are carried out through it, information from all sensors can be obtained through it. Pandora 5000 supports more than 500 CAN protocols from more than 300 cars(for identical models with different configurations, the protocol may also differ). The product in question analyzes incoming commands and, if necessary, embeds its own commands into the stream in queue mode and without unnecessary load on the system, both on software and on electronic-mechanical.

Here is the situation - at the moment, a certain heating or cooling element is working with might and main (in climate control, for example), pumping out a lot of power from the car's electrical network, and then suddenly it was necessary to close all four windows (in hot summer, the car is set to an alarm). If you give a command to close without analyzing the CAN bus and the current commands inside it, then this will simply overload the car electrical network and the consequences can be sad, or the command will not be executed, being blocked by the security system. If you perform the necessary actions sequentially, taking into account the power of the internal electrical network, then everything will work as it should. This is how it interacts with the CAN bus and the Pandora 5000 protocol.

It works both with a 2.4 GHz signal transmitted to the base unit and with a multi-channel anti-jamming radio path (433.9-434 MHz), interacts with individual remote control tags, provides Hands Free control mode and contains two anti-robbery algorithms. Here it is worth mentioning the use of a proprietary interactive radio key fob system, in other words, it is dialog code . By the way, a similar encryption technique is used in the military aviation of the Russian Federation, which is already a very powerful recommendation. The name of this method encodes the principle of its operation. The anti-theft system checks every time that the signal is received from "its" key fob, and not from a dummy one. This is implemented in the dialogue mode: in response to the first signal from the key fob, the system sends a request to it in the form of a random number, which is processed by the key fob according to a special algorithm and sent back. The car alarm compares the result with its own, processed according to the same algorithm, and if it matches, the command is executed after being sent to the confirmation panel.

They say that everything created by man inevitably breaks down. Yes, this is true to a certain extent. But the dialogue code has not yet been hacked, and not a single case of hacking the car alarm equipped with it has been recorded. You don't have to be afraid of code grabbers, they are useless against Pandora DXL 5000 and other systems with a similar interaction technique. Fraudsters will not be able to get into the wireless channel between car alarm units either, there is 128-bit encryption using the AES algorithm. Firstly, access can be carried out both from the iPhone client, which we will talk about in the corresponding section, and through any web browser by going to the P-On proprietary service.

In principle, there is a lot of useful information in addition to the tracks, and they themselves are even more detailed than in the mobile client. For example, you can find out the exact speed on each individual section of the track.

The new base unit is the result of a deep rethinking of the task of maximizing the integration of modern security telemetry electronics into modern cars. There are dozens of differences in hardware implementation. An improved power supply subsystem, more economical (average consumption reduced by more than 15%), even more resistant to overvoltage (although the previous version quietly continues to work at a voltage of more than 30 volts) and more powerful (easily copes with any operational peak loads).
