Salt dough modeling workshop: Candlestick for pill candles. Original salt dough candlestick - do-it-yourself modeling workshop Salt dough candlestick

We invite you to familiarize yourself with original idea making a candlestick from salt dough for the upcoming new year holidays. Such a candlestick can be made together with children, and such work will be quite simple and relevant for any New Year or Christmas. And most importantly, it does not require any costs at all.

To make a Christmas candlestick you will need:

Salty dough;

Seeds from melon or watermelon / pumpkin seeds/black from sunflower;

Gouache / acrylic (other paints);

Manka;

Candle-tablet.

Salt Dough Christmas Candlestick Step by Step:

Roll the ball out of the dough, then flatten it a little between the palms, put it on the base where the candlesticks will dry (in this case, a two-liter juice package was used) and press down with a candle. Stick the seeds (children really like this process).

In the process, the dough will dry out - moisten with water with a brush, the seeds will stick better. You can also make balls if you like. You can dry both on the windowsill for several days, and in the oven at 80-100 degrees.

Decorate with any paints, for example, gouache or acrylic. After painting, it is better to varnish. Decorate with ribbon bows as desired. Instead of artificial snow use a pinch of semolina.

Salt Dough Christmas Candlestick is ready!

It is quite possible to have time to mold a Christmas candlestick made of salt dough for the upcoming holiday. I suggest you get inspired by the idea, since this candlestick is somewhat different from all traditional ones) The circle of dancing beauties, nymphs and mermaids will not leave indifferent any of your household members or the person you are gifting with their positive and good energy.

For work you will need salty dough cooked at home. You can also use another mass for modeling - cold porcelain, plastic or polymer clay. It all depends on what you have at hand and what you are most comfortable working with. Children can also be involved in this work)

For work, we need to prepare the following materials:

  • flour - (for this candlestick you will need half a kilogram of flour and salt),
  • salt,
  • dishes with water
  • polyethylene film,
  • PVA stationery glue
  • nippers and pliers,
  • acrylic paints,
  • wire (you can use a wire hanger for clothes),
  • garlic,
  • barbecue sticks,
  • clear nail polish,
  • foam, plastic or real, pre-empty, chicken eggs.

Having prepared all of the above materials, we get to work. For modeling mass - salt dough, knead flour with salt and add PVA glue diluted with water. The amount of diluted glue is 1 tablespoon per 250 grams of flour.

The dough should turn out smooth, elastic, elastic. We wrap the finished dough in plastic wrap and set aside for a couple of hours. Then we take acrylic paints and mix them into the dough. We need gentle pastel shades colors.

We twist the frame from the wire. The approximate diameter of the frame is 16-20 cm. The base of the candlestick will be made of green dough imitating grass. We will do the grass itself using a garlic maker. See photos.

The basis for our mermaids, nymphs and dancing beauties will be an egg - foam, plastic or real chicken, but previously emptied. For the base of the pupae, we also need barbecue sticks.

We look at the photos, but be sure to fantasize and add something of our own, author's to the work) Do not forget to make small bouquets of roses.

At the end of the work, put the candlestick in the oven. for faster drying. The final part of the work is the coating of the candlestick with a transparent varnish.

We decorate the finished candlestick spruce twigs- artificial or real. We put a plump candle in the center of the candlestick. Good luck with your creativity!

In this master class, I want to show you how to make a candle holder for a pill candle. It's pretty simple and I'm sure you can do it just as easily as I did.

So, let's begin:

What you need for work:

  • Dough.
  • Candle-tablet
  • Foil
  • A plastic cup
  • Cardboard cylinder (I took a straw for toilet paper, she just approached the diameter)
  • And also - a rolling pin, a knife, water, a brush, paints, varnish.

As a basis, I used the bottom of a plastic cup, which I cut off at a height of 2 cm.
inserted into it cardboard tube wrapped in a sheet of foil.

Let's get straight to work.

1. Roll out a small piece of dough 4-5 mm thick.

2. Cut out 6-7 blanks for leaflets.

3. Remove excess dough and begin to form leaves.

Using a knife or a stack, we make veins. First one transverse in the middle of the leaf, and then the side ones. Then carefully cut out the corners with the edge of a knife. Making leaves come alive.

4. Paste with dough plastic base candlestick with outside. In order for the dough to hold well, first apply a little PVA glue to the base.

5. And now we begin to attach our leaves. It is not necessary that they all be attached in a strictly vertical direction.
It will be much more interesting if each of them is a little different from the other, you can mount it at different angles, move the tops, slightly bending them.

6. When all the leaves take their places, you can put peas or beads from the dough below and close the remaining openings between the leaves with thin flagella.

7. And this is what we get as a result.

Our candlestick is ready to dry. I dried it on sunny windowsill. 8. After several days of drying, I removed the tube and glued the inside of the candlestick with a thin layer of dough (so that our a plastic cup felt good and did not melt). Continued to dry.

A week has passed. The candlestick has dried out and is ready to try on a new outfit, or rather be painted in a new color.

9. Color the candlestick in the desired color. I chose ivory for my candlestick.

10. After drying, covered with pearl acrylic paint for outdoor work.

ALL! OUR CANDLESTICK IS READY!!!

A romantic evening or a gala dinner is not complete without candles, they create special atmosphere heat.

Look at the photo - even a child will make such a candlestick from salt dough with his own hands. At night he will sparkle with lights, and during the day he will attract bright colors. An original masterpiece can become not only a home decoration, but also a welcome gift for friends, relatives, teacher, classmates or colleagues. Feel free to give something that is made with love and in good mood!

  • salty dough;
  • glass bowl for the mold;
  • a bowl or deep plate for a stand;
  • wooden sticks;
  • vegetable oil;
  • acrylic or gouache paints;
  • panel clear lacquer on water based;
  • brushes;
  • a cup of water;
  • a small candle in a metal mold.

To prepare salt dough you will need:

  • one part salt;
  • one part flour;
  • half of the water.

It is convenient to take a glass or other container as a basis.

Mix salt and flour, then gradually add water, kneading the dough, as for dumplings. For greater strength, add a teaspoon of PVA glue to a glass of salt. Learn more about cooking for beginners.

Step-by-step sculpting master class

To sculpt the base of the salt dough candlestick in the form of a house, turn over and place the glass bowl on a dish, it will become a mold for modeling. To make it easier to remove the product from the plate later, grease it with vegetable oil.

Cover the plate with a layer of dough. You can roll out a large sheet and cover the mold with it, or cover the surface with several small pieces. With your fingers, stretch the mass in shape, trying to achieve a uniform layer with a thickness of five millimeters.

Roll out another piece and cut out rectangles of houses and triangles of roofs. Glue the contours of the houses along the perimeter of the candlestick, smearing the gluing points with plain water. Squeeze or cut windows with wooden sticks.

promoted ballpoint pen extrude holes in the starry sky.

In the sky, you can cut out the outline of a star or simply geometric figures. Emphasize the contours of the roofs with rolled sausages.

Leave your handmade salt dough candle holder on the mold to dry for at least seven days. Do not dry on a radiator or in an oven at a temperature of more than 40 degrees otherwise cracks may appear. After a week, try to remove the product from the form, gently prying it from all sides of the form. If the craft begins to deform, leave it to dry in a bowl for a few more days. After removing the candlestick-house, put it on parchment paper or a dish to dry for another week.

When the mass is completely dry and hard, smooth out the irregularities sandpaper or a nail file.

For decor, cover the salt dough candlestick with a base white color, as in the photo. Without a base, other paints may look duller after drying.

After the white base has dried, paint the houses and the sky, as in the photo in this master class or to your own taste.

You can add seasonality by applying snow dotted and on the roofs of houses with white paint - you get New Year's candlestick from salt dough. Once the paint is dry, coat the craft with a clear, water-based panel varnish. Apply varnish with a separate brush for each color, as it dissolves even dried paint a little, which can mix them.

After the varnish has dried, the craft can be used. As you already understood, the candle should not be placed in it, as in, but under it. A small candle in a sleeve - a tea one - is suitable here.

The candlestick itself turned out to be beautiful, and with a lit candle it will definitely create an atmosphere home comfort and fabulous mood.

If something did not work out for you, you may have made mistakes:

  • Too much thick layer dough leads to long drying, cracks and a decrease in decorativeness. How thinner layer, topics more light penetrates through walls.
  • Too small a bowl for the shape will lead to burning of the dome, since the candlestick is very low.

We hope that this master class on how to make a salt dough candlestick with your own hands will become a practical instruction for you, and not just another page that you close and forget. Do not be afraid to try new types of needlework, especially those that!

The time has come for winter crafts. And again we remembered such a wonderful material as salt dough. Haven't made anything in a while, so we're fixing it today. We will sculpt a New Year's candlestick with our own hands.

Materials:

  • Salty dough
  • rolling pin
  • plank
  • Round shape with a diameter of ≈ 15 cm
  • Foil
  • Gouache
  • brushes different sizes
  • Palette
  • Toothpick
  • Semolina
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • floating candle

How to do:

1. Making the base candlestick. We take big piece salt dough, roll it out with a rolling pin. Via round shape(plates) "cut out" the circle. Closer to the bottom edge, put a candle and lightly press on it to make an imprint. We take the foil and crush it in the shape of a cone. This is the basis of the future Christmas tree.

2. Completely fill the cone with pieces of salt dough. We put the Christmas tree on the base of the candlestick.

3. We make needles on the Christmas tree. We take pumpkin seeds and insert them with a sharp end into the dough. We start from the top and lay the seeds in rows. We sculpt an asterisk from the dough (or use a ready-made mold) and attach it to the top of the Christmas tree.

4. From the foil we roll two balls (one large, the other small) for the snowman.

5. Cover the balls with pieces of salt dough. We fasten them on top of each other (a small ball on top) and put the snowman next to the Christmas tree. For strength, they can be fixed with a toothpick: insert half of the toothpick into the bottom ball, then prick a small ball on top of the toothpick.

6. We make a hat for a snowman in the shape of a triangle or a bucket.

7. We make a snowman's face. Eyes from two small balls. Carrot nose in the shape of a cone. The mouth is pierced with a toothpick. We make a scarf. We roll a long sausage from the dough and crush it. Wrap the scarf around the snowman's neck.

8. We sculpt arms and legs for the snowman. On the snowman's stomach we will make one or more buttons. With the help of a toothpick, we will make a pattern on a scarf in the form of snowflakes.

9. We sculpt a gift. We form a small cube from the dough and fasten it next to the Christmas tree. We roll small sausages, crush them with our fingers. And we lay the strips crosswise on a gift. With the help of the same strips we sculpt a bow.

10. Coloring the craft. We start with the tree. Paint the star with red gouache. Gently paint the Christmas tree with green gouache. Use brushes of different sizes. We decorate the Christmas tree with snow. Once again (with the second layer) we paint the Christmas tree in green color. Until the paint is dry, sprinkle the Christmas tree with semolina or sparkles. We brush off the excess cereal that has fallen on the base of the candlestick with a dry brush.

11. Coloring the snowman. Body - white or blue gouache. The nose is orange, the eyes are white. The colors for the scarf, hat and buttons are up to you.

12. Coloring the gift. Choose two different colors for the bow and base. Coloring the base of the candlestick White color and sprinkle with semolina.

The craft is ready! It remains to wait until it dries well and put the candle in its place.
