So, to make a 12 volt LED lamp, you need to follow these steps:

Remove the top glass from the old halogen bulb, as well as the white putty near the pin base (as shown in the photo below). For this, it is best to use a screwdriver.
Turn the lamp socle upside down and carefully use a hammer to knock out the pins from the seat. The old halogen bulb should fall out.
According to the number of LEDs you have chosen, come up with a diagram of their location, on the basis of which make a paper stencil. You can use an existing blank and print one of ready schemes which are shown in the picture:
Glue the stencil to the aluminum sheet with super glue, cut the sheet to the shape of the stencil, and then make the seats for the LEDs with a hole punch.
Generate an assembly drawing of an LED lamp on the Internet for your conditions. In our case, to create an LED light bulb at home from 22 diodes, you need to assemble the following circuit:
Put the aluminum disk on convenient stand and insert the LEDs into the seats, as shown in the photo. To simplify the soldering process, bend the cathode leg of one diode to the anode leg of the other.
Carefully glue all the LEDs, making them a single design. Important point– glue should not get on the legs of the diodes, because. when soldering, extremely unpleasant smoke will be emitted.
When the glue hardens, start soldering the legs. By the way, we recommend that you do this, which also does not take much time. Solder the diodes according to the diagram LED lamps, leaving only one positive leg and one negative leg for connecting power. Solder the resistors to the negative terminals according to the diagram. As a result, according to our example, you should get 6 positive terminals and 6 negative ones (with resistors).
Solder the resistors according to the generated schematic.
Solder the same piece of copper wire to the two contacts formed, which will make it possible to make the pin base of the LED lamp at home. By analogy with the previous advice, make one leg shorter (minus) for a while, so that later you don’t confuse anything and make the connection correctly.
To prevent this from happening in the future, carefully glue the space between the legs that are brought out.
Complete final assembly LED bulbs: place the disk on the reflector and carefully glue it.
With a marker, sign on the body of the assembled LED lamp where “+” and where “-”, also indicate that the home-made light source is designed to be connected to a 12 volt power supply, not 220.
Check the assembled homemade product. To do this, connect the LED bulb to car battery or a 220/12 Volt power supply.

The method is outdated and inconvenient, but is still used by some modders. Installation is extremely simple and boils down to the fact that the downloaded archive with the mod must be placed in a special folder with the game:

World_of_Tanks/res_mods/ 1.6.0.0

In such an archive, there are usually not pictures, but SWF files and folders that allow you to make animated lamps, new sounds, and so on.

In most cases, one image of the lamp is enough, so let's move on to the second point.

2) How to put a light bulb in World of Tanks 1.6.0.0 using the XVM mod?

To get started you need. You can just throw a folder from the archive into the game and not bother with its advanced functionality and complex config, since the basic things will work right away (including simple replacement light bulbs), and this is exactly what we need in the framework of this instruction.

Also, do not be afraid for your precious FPS, which will not suffer, again, if you only need XVM to install a lamp - do not include additional "heavy" features of the mod, such as an informative minimap (the most voracious element) and everything will be fine. Verified personally.

After installing the XVM mod, our new light bulb lies on the specified path: \World_of_Tanks\res_mods\mods\shared_resources\xvm\res.

Now we can throw any image in PNG format (!!!) there and the light bulb will work.

Important! The name of your lamp file must be SixthSense.png. Keeping a new lamp in this folder you must overwrite the old one (or delete it first, then put the new image there).

Image preparation for the lamp

You can try different queries, but the most important thing is that at the end it should be " png"- this will give the search engine a command to search for images of this particular format and in 90% of cases they will be on a transparent background, which looks much more beautiful in the game.

And what to do if none of the lamp cards found fit?

Let's make a lamp ourselves, using the example of a sticker from Vkontakte in the form of a funny potato:

To get this image, the easiest way is to look at the Vkontakte element code. This can be done, for example, using the Firebug extension for all popular browsers. You can describe how to use it for a very long time, so look for information on other sites.

But suppose that our picture was not initially on a transparent background. What to do in this case?

You can make it yourself, having a graphic editor at hand, such as Photoshop (you can easily find a free version with a crack, rummage through torrents).

1) Step one - open the image in Photoshop, click on the "Magic Wand" tool:

Then click on an empty area of the image. It is worth noting here that it is much more convenient when the background of the image is uniform, so that there is no interference with the "smart" selection:

Then just delete the background with the DELETE button on the keyboard:

If the background of the image was originally non-uniform, then you can cut out the desired part using the Lasso tool:
