Installation of flexible tiles.
The first starting row is made of tile shingles, with cut petals. The resulting shingle residue is used as a starting strip, 19.5 cm wide. These strips are mounted with nails (4 pcs per shingle) to the base along the cornice line and smeared along the bottom edge with Bitustik bituminous mastic. Next, the first sheet of bituminous tiles is laid, aligned along the bottom edge and fixed with 4 nails if the roof slope is up to 60 degrees; if the roof angle is more than 60 degrees, then one shingle must be fixed with 6 nails.
The second shingle is laid back-to-back with the first. Thus ends the first row of the roof. The second row of shingles is offset 12.5 cm from the first. In this order, tiles are mounted throughout the roof.
Fastening shingles of Tegola shingles.

Places where bituminous tiles meet metal elements: junctions, droppers, end strips and in valleys it is necessary to coat with bituminous glue. When applying mastic, it is necessary to use a spatula, avoiding an excess amount of mastic. The mastic is applied in strips 2-3 cm wide, with an interval of 2 cm. Layer thickness bituminous mastic no more than 1 mm. Excessive amount of bituminous adhesive will subsequently cause the adhesive to bleed, which will ruin the appearance of the finished roof.
Remember: increasing the consumption of bituminous mastic will not improve the adhesion of shingles and increase the waterproofing properties of the roof.
Valley installation.
In the place of the valley, a lining carpet must be installed on the base. Then you need to use roll material"Carpet Safety SBS-3" with a dressing of stone granulate, corresponding in color to the main roofing. Carpet Safety SBS-3 is mounted along the valley and fixed with nails along the edges with a step of 10 cm. A flexible tile is mounted on the waterproofing valley carpet using the "cut" method (Fig.
- The laying of tiles on the valley begins with a slope of a shorter length or with a smaller angle of inclination.
- A tile sheet coming to the valley from slope I (Fig. 3) enters the axis of the valley onto the adjacent slope II by 30 cm, with fixation with bituminous mastic, or is fused with a building dryer.
- These steps are repeated until ramp I is completely closed.
- On the adjacent slope II, parallel to the axis of the valley, the line of the undercut of the valley is beaten off by 10 centimeters.
- Shingles approaching the valley from slope II are brought to the marked line and cut along it.
- Fixation of shingles on the valley is carried out using bituminous mastic or a building hair dryer.
Attention: fixing with nails closer than 30 cm to the valley line is not allowed.
To prevent damage roofing at the place of cutting, when cutting shingles of tiles, it is necessary to observe precautionary methods: put plywood, board, etc.
Mounting the ridge (Figure 4).
The top row of bituminous tiles is brought to the line of the ridge or edge of the roof, and its protruding part is bent over the ridge (rib) and fixed with a nail on the opposite slope.
The ridge elements are cut directly from the shingles of the Standard series shingles along the cut lines and trimmed in the shape of a trapezoid. These elements are mounted with an overlap on skates, fixed with two nails, which, in turn, are covered with the next element. For a better fit, apply building hair dryer to, by slightly heating the petals of the tiles, to give them additional flexibility.
