Decor in vintage style: well-forgotten old. Vintage style in the interior - recommendations and examples

I share with you my personal "know-how", I have not seen this on the net.

This method of rusting is not at all costly and time-consuming; when using it, there is no unpleasant odors and no hazardous chemicals are used.

To do rusting, you do not need to run anywhere and look for anything, very ordinary items from the everyday life of a person who loves to be creative are used.

Like these ones:

The photo was specially made larger, because. looking through the MK of other authors, I often "break my eyes" in order to make out what is depicted there.

So, many are faced with the fact that to complete the image, some old rusty little thing is needed, which right now is not at hand, there is no patience to order on the Internet. That's what my MK is for.

Let's get started. Take brand new shiny bells or any item metal object(I want to note that I didn’t scold other types of metal - you can be the first, mercilessly three sandpaper or a nail file. Here's what should happen.

Then we take the lid from the jar and glue the resulting "tails" to it, making sure that the length of our workpiece is shorter than the jar and the bells do not touch. The idea is that the metal should not come into contact with anything inside except for the string - this is for the best result.

Then we take the jar itself and pour iodine on the very bottom, close the lid, making sure that all the bells are inside and not mixed up.

And, we leave all this happiness alone for a day or two. The longer everything is in the jar, the darker the color will turn out.

As soon as the color suits - open the jar, cut off the bells, let them dry - and that's it, you don't even need to wash them, they don't get dirty.

I really hope you enjoy my experiments! Comments and suggestions are welcome, see you soon!

The birthplace of silhouette art is China, where monochrome black images, the so-called Chinese shadows, have existed for a long time. From there they entered Western Europe, primarily to France, where in the middle of the 18th century the fashion for silhouette portraits became widespread. The silhouette got its name from the name of Etienne Silhouette, a French official of the 17th century, who, following the fashion, was fond of paper cutting. Various stories were told about him, and once some artist drew a caricature of him, which was made as a shadow. This way of depicting became known as a silhouette. Everyone knows that G. H. Andersen was a great storyteller, but few people know that he loved to cut out all sorts of cunning silhouettes and delicate napkins from paper with scissors. And give it all to friends.

I would like to introduce you to the artist Katherine Flockena. She creates amazing portraits, in 4 hours - about 100 portraits!

Should we try? Vintage frame, black paper, scissors... and that's it)

People for centuries have found fascinating objects from the past using them as interior decor. We still don't know who said that what was in fashion 50 years ago will soon become popular as well. What matters is that this is indeed the case. Today we want to show you how to create an excellent vintage interior with the help of antiques.

Story

The term "vintage" originated in the days of winemakers who were trying to identify individual grape harvests or agricultural seasons. Later, this word passed into everyday speech. In more recent times, when nostalgia and commemorative events became popular, vintage style came to mean not only old and used items, but also items that belong to a specific time period, such as the 1940s or 1950s.

Designation

Is there a difference between a vintage interior and an antique one? All three styles assume that we are using something old that comes from the past. However, there are some subtleties. Vintage refers to things that are more than 50 but less than 100 years old. Therefore, a 150-year-old clock is an antique piece. The lamp, which is already 50 years old, is vintage. But a watch created only 20 years ago is retro. All three terms are often used interchangeably, but interested persons should be aware of the differences presented.

Such an extraordinary offers to make the author of his own firegoodness blog. The idea of creating curtains has been spinning in his head for a long time, since ready-made options, available for sale in his place of residence, did not suit him. But the need for a curtain in the bedroom made me arm myself with a needle and thread, material and antique lace. It had been lying in a chest and boxes for a long time (there were about three of them in total) and was the subject of his pride.

He collected a rather impressive collection, and simply sorted through and admired the fine work of the masters. But one day, sorting through, I decided to create something unique and beautiful out of it. It will be a curtain in the bedroom - the author decided. There was no special sketch and plan for creating the product. All he wanted to do was put together a pair of three-piece lace collars, but the process completely "absorbed" him. First, a beautiful lace flower was born, then a butterfly with the most delicate wings fluttered around it ...

So, we offer you the sequence of creating a vintage curtain with lace elements. The basis of the curtain was a piece of thin cotton fabric. The second main element is lace. Prepare also a table and a sewing machine. Stitches that are useful for working fabric and lace are straight and zigzag stitches.

Step 1. Spread the material over the window, decide how the folds and clips will be. Determine the length of the curtain, make allowances for seams and a fold of 0.5 cm.

Step 2. The curtain, which serves as an example, is 145 cm wide. Woven belt strips will hold it on the cornice. Only 32 pieces. The height of the strips is 2.5 cm wide and 40 cm long. The distance between the strips is 7cm. You can make the number of belts and the distance between them convenient for you. The photo shows a variant of the assembly of such strips, on a tie (photo 2).

Step 3. Stitch the strips (fold them in half) as shown in photos 3, 4 and 5. Step 4. The most exciting process, which is a kind of “play with lace”. Create your own combinations and combinations of various laces. Add lace not only to the main central part of the curtain, but also to the sides, bottom, top.

Step 5. Decorate the bottom of the curtain with unusual ruffles or ruffles, from the lace itself or the main fabric.

Step 6. Continue decorating with lace elements, don't be afraid to experiment.

Only after final choice the location of the details of the pattern, sew each element of lace with a zigzag seam.

The author of this curtain admitted that creative process he liked creating a vintage lace curtain so much that he plans to continue creating unusual lace compositions, more daring and grandiose in their embodiment.

The word "vintage" came to us from French, where it denoted a strong aged wine that had been waiting in the wine cellars for decades. Then the concept was transferred to the interior to indicate the style direction, where in modern dwelling moved old stuff. But the vintage style in the interior implies not only their presence in the house - the very atmosphere in it has its own specifics.

Modern

A vintage item is a truly timeless item that is at least 30 years old and was fashionable some time ago. Retro is general concept style, which is characterized by both antiques and modern, antique-styled, "remakes".

Grandmother's chest, which once kept her dowry, is a vintage item, just like the sideboard in which she kept the service presented for the wedding. And an artificially aged table, a crocheted rug, embroidered with a cross in vintage style the tablecloth is retro. Vintage uses once fashionable things that have become popular again. Retro does not depend on fashion, it simply belongs to its era or depicts it.

When choosing a vintage style direction for the interior, you need to decide which era is closer to you in spirit, what you want to embody in your apartment. Do not forget that all premises of the dwelling must be decorated in uniform style. Ultra-modern or, conversely, classic, and even more so - embodying the luxury of baroque and other similar styles cannot be combined on the same territory with vintage breathing old times.

Important! The main requirement when decorating an interior in a vintage style is the presence of objects belonging to the era being recreated.

In fact, vintage in the interior is not a heap old furniture, yellowed napkins and valances - things "with history" get along well with modern ones, and there are no strict requirements here. But there are no random objects here either, so such a design is created for a long time, gradually. You should not be like Plyushkin and bring into the house all the old things that come across - they must be carefully matched to each other.

It’s easy to create a vintage interior - you don’t have to purchase antique furniture and household items - your relatives of the older generation, parents of friends will gladly give away what lies idle in attics and garages.   • combination of ancient and modern items;
  • simplicity of the interior;
  • some randomness, a slight mess - a blanket casually thrown over the sofa, magazines left on the table, a basket with needlework;
  • touch of romance;
  • floral plots - on wallpaper, textiles;
  • scuffs, barely distinguishable inscriptions on things, as if (or really) erased from time to time.

Furniture bearing the stamp of time

The correct, harmonious vintage style is the obligatory presence of real antique, retro furniture against the background of antique-styled walls. Appropriate in the interior:

  • high wardrobes;
  • sideboards with slightly peeling paint, scuffs;
  • forged furniture;
  • chests of drawers covered with patina;
  • low coffee tables on a copper frame and large wooden tables;
  • whatnots, carved shelves.

If the furniture is wooden, it may have traces of cracked varnish, and painted surfaces - cracks in the paint, abrasions.

Important! Do not create a "junk shop" from the room - everything should be in moderation, although you should not combine ultra-modern and antique furniture in one room.

There should be harmony in everything: in the bedroom, a wooden chest of drawers with a cracked facade will complement wrought iron bed covered with a lace bedspread, lay a knitted "grandmother's" round rug on the floor. In the living room you can put round table with a white tablecloth, on him - simple vase with flowers. A cuckoo clock on the wall and black and white photographs on a shelf complete the styling.
