If the house has a clean and beautiful toilet, then everyone in it will feel good and comfortable. Drywall in the toilet can change the design of the room.

A drywall box can cover electrical wiring or numerous pipes.

Thanks to the flight of design ideas, you can completely transform the toilet room, hide all technical communications by mounting a box in the drywall toilet.

Drywall - the best material to work with when arranging a toilet room

In the building materials market, drywall is in great demand. Thanks to its exceptional properties, any master can make good repair toilet.

To make a box that will hide most of the riser is within the power of a good skilled owner. The main thing is that the box simultaneously becomes an element of the interior.

A drywall box can cover electrical wiring or numerous pipes. It is necessary to decide where it will be installed: on the ceiling or on the wall.

The box will be made with high quality if you plan the entire course of work in advance. The process can be divided into four main stages, including the design of the box, installation, strengthening the plasterboard on the frame and final finishing.

Prepare tools and materials for work in advance:

  • knife for cutting drywall sheets;
  • saw knife;
  • disc cutter;
  • profile scissors;
  • cordless drill-driver;
  • pencil;
  • roulette;
  • rail-level;
  • electric planer;
  • a hammer;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • metal profiles;
  • glue;
  • dowels.

Creating a box drawing

In the toilet, the place where the box will be installed is determined. All necessary measurements are carried out using a tape measure. It is better to make a drawing and drawing of the future design on paper.

They outline the places where suspensions with load-bearing profiles will be attached. All attachment points must be located on the same line with the formation of a whole continuous plane for the edges of the box, otherwise distortions may occur.

At the beginning of work, metal profiles are attached to the suspensions with self-tapping screws. As a result, a frame for the box is formed.

At the beginning of work, metal profiles are attached to the suspensions with self-tapping screws. As a result, a frame for the box is formed. Sufficient strength should be taken into account, taking into account, first of all, the weight of the pipes inside.

At the profile, only straight angles are allowed, and they are located in a vertical or horizontal direction. After checking these parameters, they begin to place drywall sheets on them.

Plasterboard sheets are fixed with self-tapping screws. If drywall sheets are light, then they are glued, but in such a way as to prevent sheets and pipes from touching. Otherwise, there are strong noise effects with strong vibration of the pipes.

Box assembly process

When installing the simplest design, after marking on the floor, the plumb line moves to the ceiling. The profile is fixed only along vertical lines. With a sufficient length of the profile, it can be bent both on the floor and on the ceiling, placing it strictly according to preliminary markings. Dowel pitch 600-1000 mm.

Part is cut off from the profile, equal to the length box, and it is reduced by 10 mm. One side is cleared by 55 cm. A similar operation is done on the other side. Parts are attached to the end of the rails with dowels.

Next, they make 2 PS - profiles for racks. They are placed and fixed in PN-profiles located on the ceiling and on the floor. For greater stability of the box, jumpers are mounted at a distance of 600 mm from one another. If it is decided to install 3 stiffening belts, then 6 short jumpers and 3 long ones are attached. They are cut from the remaining profile.

Long jumpers are fixed with self-tapping screws, then short ones are fixed. The design of the box is ready for fixing the plasterboard.

Plasterboard shelf for the design of the toilet room

Masking pipes in the toilet can be done using drywall shelves. The work is easy. Before starting work, prepare the necessary tools:

  • rail-level;
  • roulette;
  • plumb;
  • pencil;
  • screwdriver;
  • sandpaper;
  • a hammer;
  • pliers;
  • hacksaw;
  • brush.

The shelf frame is installed so that the pipe is hidden in a niche.

The shelf frame is installed so that the pipe is hidden in a niche. The base of the shelf is made from the profile. It is better to take a profile that has a size of 50x25 cm. They mark the wall using a plumb line. Screwdriver fixes the frame on the wall.

Guides are attached to the profile, with their help the shelf frame acquires the required volume. They are mounted on the ceiling and on the floor.

The next step is plasterboard sheathing. They are fastened with self-tapping screws screwed into the drywall sheet and the profile hole.

Covering the finished frame with plasterboard sheets

Drywall sheets are prepared in advance. Measure the dimensions of the shelves and mark them on the sheets. To obtain desired part, one layer of the sheet must be cut through. The resulting crack is broken, the second layer is cut from below. Clean up the ends sandpaper. Fasten them to the frame with dowels.

The joints between the sheets are sealed with putty with a layer of 1-2 mm. The corners are glued with putty corners.

The design of the drywall box: 1 - a horizontal sewer pipe with a diameter of 50 mm; 2 - floor tiles; 3 - wall tiles; 4 - a wooden block on which the removable box rests; 5 - removable box; 6 - outer and inner plastic corners.

To mask the pipes in the toilet, you can also use metal profiles.

The following materials are used for work:

  • metallic profile;
  • drywall sheets;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • drill;
  • dowels;
  • putty;
  • reinforced tape;
  • door hinges.

When renovating a toilet, you always want to achieve perfection. Are used quality materials finishes, exquisite tiles, decorative elements and much more. At the same time, pipes and communications can seriously spoil everything. Making a box in the toilet is quite simple, and this does not require the help of specialists. You just need to decide which option suits you best. Today we will look at four main types of boxes that allow you to hide all unnecessary communications in the toilet, such as plumbing, pipelines, meters and much more, which is far from the most attractive appearance.

  • 1 Options
    • 1.1 False walls
    • 1.2 Square boxes
    • 1.3 Oblique false walls
    • 1.4 Multi-level boxes
  • 2 Material selection

Options

Agree that in typical apartments the toilet is a kind of technical room, where they accidentally installed a toilet bowl. Numerous pipes, risers, bends, counters, taps located behind the toilet create an extremely unpleasant picture. But you can hide it, and in four different ways:

  • Install a false wall;
  • Mount a square box;
  • Make an oblique false wall;
  • Create a multi-level box.

Now we will talk about each of these types of boxes separately, which will allow you to understand the essence of each design, as well as decide which one suits you best.

false walls

Perhaps the most simple option it is considered to be a false wall, the material for the creation of which is. However, this will require the toilet to be moved slightly forward, depending on the proximity of the pipes to it. With a room length of 150-200 centimeters, due to the false wall, you will lose about 30-50 centimeters, so there may be a minimum distance between the toilet and the door.

And you can get out of this situation by installing a more practical hanging toilet. All his communications will be hidden behind drywall, only the bowl itself will remain visible, even without a tank.

You can create a certain free space between it and the pipes, and use it as shelves, make boxes there, store various household items. Just do not forget that the false wall must have hatches and removable panels through which you will gain access to taps, meters in order to read the data, shut off the water if necessary.

Experts note that the disadvantage of such a box is difficult access to pipes. However, if you use reliable and high-quality materials, then this problem will disappear by itself.

Square boxes

When all risers are in one corner, good decision may be the installation of a square box, also made of drywall. Such designs significantly save space, but sometimes cause certain inconveniences.

Be sure to provide windows for counters and valves at the stage of cutting out elements from drywall sheets, since it will be more difficult to make holes at the place of their fixation. Or make a full-fledged door made of aluminum profiles with loops. Also sold in shops finished goods made of plastic, but here you have to select the dimensions. Plus, roller shutters have proven themselves well as doors.

Oblique false walls

It is not uncommon now to find oblique false walls that perfectly mask pipes and communications. This is the same wall, only at an acute angle. She eats a lot less space, so that the free corner can be used for the installation of a wall cabinet, shelves.

Also, if it is convenient for you, you can move the toilet closer to one of the walls opposite the one where the pipe overlap structure is mounted.

Multi-level boxes

It is no secret that the location of communications is often not the most thoughtful. And some cases do not allow one to protect oneself from them with a solid wall, because then one will have to sacrifice a third free space toilets, if not more.

Here, a multi-level structure will be an excellent way out, where each individual box will disguise its own separate pipe or its section. Due to this, space is saved, there is room for a more practical use of walls and corners of the room.

As in previous cases, be sure to provide access to taps, meters and other elements using hatches, doors or viewing windows.

Yes, creating a multi-level box is more difficult, but in practice it shows itself from the very beginning. better side. Plus, the box itself, after tiling, becomes like shelves, which means it is not necessary to hang a closet in the toilet.

Material selection

We talked about the main types of boxes used in sheathing communications in the toilet. At the same time, far from only drywall can be used, although, in fairness, we note that it is he who is the most popular and practical.

Consider all materials suitable for such purposes.

  1. Drywall. Be sure to choose only moisture-resistant drywall, otherwise under the influence of moisture plain sheets will start to break down quickly. This material is good because it is easy to work with, cut, process, give any shape and decorate. On top of drywall, tiles are usually laid or painted with paints. Although he also has a drawback, which manifests itself in the need to gain free access to pipes. Then you have to completely dismantle the structure, and then build a new one, already from new materials.
  2. Plastic panels. It occupies the second line in the popularity rating of materials for boxes. Its minus can be seen in the fact that the design of the box will stand out against the background of the walls of the room. However, the current variety of panels makes it easy to find the right color that will perfectly match the color of your tiles or wallpaper. In emergency situations, such a box is much easier to disassemble than drywall, and then install plastic elements in place without damage.
  3. Roller shutters. As a rule, they are used when creating a box of drywall or plastic panels, but serves as a replacement for one of the walls. Roller shutters serve as a large door, which has a very attractive appearance. With their help, you can make great access to taps, meters, pipes in case of an accident and preventive maintenance, while not sacrificing the aesthetic component of the toilet. If there are children in the house, then lockable roller shutters will provide peace of mind to parents, since the kids will not have the opportunity to climb in there, take some kind of container from the shelf behind the roller shutters, which contains dangerous detergents, cleaning products, for example.

As you can see, there are a lot of options for creating a box in the toilet. Choose the one that suits you the most. To do this, it is recommended to make a plan of the room, apply all pipes, meters and taps to the image, which will allow you to understand how to save space, where to provide hatches, what materials are better to use, and so on.

Often the new kind toilet after the repair spoils the availability pipes(sewer and water pipes), which conventional methods it is impossible to hide. If in the rooms and the kitchen it is quite easy to hide unwanted elements, such as pipes, communications, batteries or an exhaust hood, then in the toilet it is somewhat more difficult to do so. However, it is quite possible to improve the appearance of this room with the help of a drywall box. You can easily make this design yourself. With it, you can disguise any pipe and make the toilet more presentable and beautiful.

Plasterboard box in the toilet

Before starting the construction of a drywall box, you need to decide on its design. From this material, you can make designs of the most diverse shapes and sizes. But since the area of \u200b\u200bthe toilet is usually very small, there is nowhere to roam here.
Usually, an ordinary rectangular box in the toilet is used to hide the pipes. This design is suitable when pipes are laid down or along one wall. Having made only one box, you can hide all the pipes in it.
However, very often, especially in older houses, the installation of pipes took place in the most various places toilet. They can go along the walls from the ceiling to the floor, protrude from the floor and go into the walls. Here it will be impossible to hide all unnecessary elements with a single box. Therefore, it is necessary to make a design that can mask the presence of pipes in all places. Of course, this will be more difficult to do than in a situation where you need to create only one box.

More complex box design

In addition to choosing a design, you need to take into account the material from which in the future it will be possible to make a drywall box. Since drywall sheets have different properties, then they can only be used in certain rooms. Since in the toilet, especially combined with the bathroom, changes in humidity are possible, you should choose plasterboard sheets with increased moisture resistance. This will help not only prevent the deformation of the sheets under the action of moisture, but also protect the pipes from mechanical damage. Besides, given material will prevent the development of fungus and mold, as condensate will still settle on the walls.

Note! The device of the box must maintain quick access to the pipes, as they can flow, as well as to take parameters from water meters. Therefore, do not be too zealous with disguise.

Necessary calculations

Like any drywall construction, the box requires the creation of a drawing before installation. It should indicate all the parameters and dimensions of not only the box itself, but also its frame, taking into account all desired profiles. For example, when masking pipes in the corner of a room, you need only three guide profiles, and with more complex structures- much higher.

Model of the site of future work

We make a drawing in such a way that it displays the entire room on a scale, including the future camouflage device. Remember, in the toilet you should mount the structure as compactly as possible to the pipes, since there is already so little space here. Distance from pipe to metal frame should be at least 5 cm. By creating the right plan, you can easily calculate the amount of materials needed.

Necessary tools and materials

In order to make a plasterboard masking pipe structure with your own hands, you will need the following tools:

  • drill;
  • screwdriver;
  • tape measure and pencil;
  • knife and mounting pliers;
  • metal scissors;
  • square;
  • hammer and hacksaw;
  • screwdriver;
  • building level.

Set of tools

From the materials you will need:

  • drywall sheets;
  • small screws and dowels;
  • metallic profile.

Conducting installation work

Before proceeding with the installation of the box, preparatory work should be carried out. Otherwise, you can simply achieve that you have to break the previously made structure.
Holding preparatory work suggests:

  • replacement of all pipes. If you sew up the old and rusty pipes, then in the near future they may leak and the box will have to be disassembled;
  • particularly carefully should be inspected joints for leaks. If a minor leak is detected, the breakthrough points can be treated with a sealant;

Pipe Sealants

  • to prevent possible breakthroughs at the joints, all pipe joints can be treated with sealant. Extra insurance won't hurt.

After finishing the preparatory work, you can begin to mount the frame. This procedure involves the following steps:

  • marking the frame on the walls, floor and ceiling. The markup is applied according to the type of the selected structure. For evenness of lines and further construction, you should use the building level;
  • using a drill, you need to make holes in the wall and mount dowels in them;
  • after that, we apply profile guides to the lines drawn and the holes made;
  • fasten the profile with screws;
  • after the guides have been attached to the walls, ceiling and floor, you can start fixing the side and internal profiles;
  • side axles are mounted on self-tapping screws;
  • when corner design the central guide is made using a square;
  • we make jumpers between the axles. With their help, you can achieve greater structural stability. This is especially important when pipes running from the ceiling to the floor are masked. Such a box device is the least stable;
  • jumpers are fixed every 40 cm. They are screwed with self-tapping screws with a press washer.

Finished frame

Note! If a tiled finish is planned on top of the box, then you need to make the structure more durable. To do this, it is worth reinforcing the supporting frame with additional transverse profiles.
When creating a drywall box in the corner, at the end of the mounting of the frame, three vertical and parallel metal axes should be obtained. If the pipes are located horizontally, then the frame is made in the shape of a rectangle.
After that, drywall sheets are attached to the frame. They are cut into the necessary pieces and fastened with screws to the guides. When mounting sheets, it is necessary to provide for the places of possible "windows" through which you can take readings from water meters.

"Window" in a drywall box

A perforated corner is installed on the outer corners of the structure and rubbed with putty. It should be chosen for work on drywall sheets.
When all installation work completed, on drywall box finish can be applied. Most often in the role final finishing using ceramic tiles.

Finishing the box with tiles

Although drywall boxes and take away a certain space, which is already small in the toilet, but they allow you to quickly and efficiently hide all sewer pipes. At the same time, such a construction can be easily do with your own hands.

During my long career, I have been approached by many people who asked me to make a box in the drywall toilet. Naturally, I did not refuse them this, especially since they paid me good money for this. However, not many people know that there are other ways to mask utilities in the toilet. I want to tell readers about them today. Naturally, the material will also contain tips on how to make a box with your own hands, and spend a minimum of money and time on it.

Configuration selection

Before starting to build a structure for sewer pipe and plumbing system and decide what it is better to make this very box from, I would think about the form if I were you. After all, in addition to standard options, I made pretty nice designs that served independent element restroom decor. And the price turned out to be very reasonable.

About the most interesting options with which I had to face, I will tell you. I won’t give specific advice on choosing, but I’ll tell you what I myself think about the pros and cons of a particular design. This will make it easier for you to choose.

Option 1 - false wall

This is the simplest toilet pipe box in terms of implementation. Here you do not need to design and assemble complex framework from wood or galvanized profiles. It is enough to install the supporting elements and sheathe with sheets of drywall.

Disguise like this engineering Communication I personally advise those who have a toilet that is elongated in length rectangular shape. However, in most of the houses where I have worked, the “thinking room” is 1.2 by 1 meter. If you also make a wall that “eats” 50 centimeters, then sitting on the toilet, you will rest your knees on the door. I don't think it will be comfortable.

As an option - the use of suspended installation. In this case, the manufacture of false walls from drywall will immediately achieve many advantages:

  • saving space in the toilet by placing the toilet close to the rear wall of the toilet;
  • disguise drain tank inside a false wall (this way we achieve even greater space savings);
  • masking the water supply and drain pipe in an installation covered with plasterboard.

I once installed a toilet on an installation and made a door in a false wall, and installed shelves inside, cutting holes in them for wiring vertical pipes. The result is a spectacular box and a place to store household items. The client liked it so much that he rewarded me with a pretty good amount of money.

Be that as it may, when planning the manufacture of a false wall, you need to make an inspection door in it to check the meters and provide access to the valves. Personally, I would advise you to make this door bigger, otherwise in the event of an accident or a breakthrough in the sewer, you will have to break the beauty that you have set up with a crowbar and scoop out the accumulated you know what. And it will be enough just to open the door.

Although, if you approach the design of the plumbing system and sewerage with all responsibility, no accident will occur. The main thing is not to save on materials and follow my advice exactly.

Option 2 - square vertical box

This is a kind of false wall. However, it is not necessary to close the entire back of the toilet, but one of the corners of the room. Suitable for those restrooms where all pipes are located neatly on the right or left side of the room. I've seen this in new build houses.

The advantages here are obvious, I will not talk about them. The disadvantages include difficult access to valves and meters. And if a breakthrough occurs, the inconvenience of eliminating it is not worth talking about.

You can use a plastic revision door by buying it in a store. However, I advise you to rivet a frame from galvanized profiles, sheathe it with drywall and tile it (or whatever you are going to decorate the bathroom with). In this case, it will not stand out as an ugly spot against the background of the cladding.

I'll give you one more piece of advice experienced master. Design the profile section after you have bought the tile.
Its width and depth should be one (or two) separate tiles. In this case, no pruning will be necessary. You will save tiles, and there will be fewer problems when laying.

Option 3 - oblique wall

I would call this option a symbiosis of the previous two. It seems not completely a wall, and not a small box. I made an oblique box of PVC panels in the toilet, where, in addition to vertical risers, pipe bends for the toilet and washbasin protruded. The owner refused to cut them off, so they had to deal with their situations in this way.

In this case I used plastic panels, since they are thinner and do not require additional decorative processing. But you have to look to different variants wall, ceiling and floor finishes were combined with each other.

By the way, to make the toilet look more organic, you can put it not in the center of the room, but by shifting it to one of the sides (opposite to the one where the oblique false wall is mounted).

Option 4 - a box of complex shape

Most often, in practice, I came across bathrooms and toilets, where pipes (water and sewer) were installed in artistic chaos (probably the architect was an impressionist). Therefore, in order to beautifully disguise all this disgrace, we had to design boxes complex shape. Otherwise, false walls would have to block the entire toilet, leaving no room for the toilet itself.

Creating a design is not so difficult, if you understand. It is necessary to make a sketch, after which to construct a frame on it, and already sew it up with some sheet material(I'll talk about it later).

In the same way, you can easily make a removable box that provides convenient access to all possible utilities.

Material selection

Now I'll tell you about suitable materials. Given the specifics of the premises, it is necessary that they meet the following requirements:

  1. Environmental friendliness. The cladding for the box should not release hazardous substances into the air. chemical elements, even if the temperature rises or the humidity rises.
  2. Corrosion resistance. The material should not become unusable from exposure to moisture and contribute to the spread of rust to other parts in the restroom.
  3. Ease of installation. Everything is clear here. The material should be such that it can be easily and simply made into a box. Moreover, do not ruin your health and do not spend half a year of your life.

Those of you who are not new to construction have probably already guessed, but for the rest, I will say that the following materials meet the criteria listed above:

  • plastic;
  • glued moisture resistant plywood;
  • MDF panels;
  • drywall.

I personally use the first and the last in my work. Sometimes, but very rarely, MDF panels. I will justify my choice for especially doubters.

Drywall is very easy to cut and use for cladding different designs. In addition, it can be plastered, puttied, painted and veneered. tiles. That is, a drywall box can be decorated in the same way as walls. This is what we builders use.

Considering that the air in the toilet is more humid than in the rest of the apartment, you need to buy green drywall, which has increased water-repellent properties.

As for plastic, it does not require decorative finishing. For some people this is a plus, for others a minus. I used plastic in cases where the entire restroom was lined with it. In other cases, he preferred drywall.

By the way, one more thing (as Steve Jobs said). If you do not want to fence this whole garden, you can buy and install roller shutters. They will close all pipes (play the role of a false wall) and at the same time assemble into a compact cylinder, opening access to utilities.

Roller shutters can also be used as a closet door. Thus, you kill not two, but several birds with one stone.

The only negative of this approach is the appearance. Still, for my taste white panel, consisting of individual lamellas, does not fit into the interior of the toilet. At least I beautiful options did not met.

Box design

Now let's proceed directly to the creation of the box. I must say right away that in the apartment that was mentioned at the beginning, I used drywall. But to make it interesting for others to read, I will also mention plastic in my story. Moreover, I have a huge experience in using both materials.

markup

Installation of a drywall box in the toilet (yes, by the way, from other materials too) begins with drawing (as in school, remember?).

I took a tape measure, measured the entire toilet and drew a scale plan on a piece of paper. He indicated the walls on it, as well as the location water pipes and sewers. Then I drew the future box (it will be multi-level and complex in shape, so I won’t give a drawing here).

When drawing a sketch, do not forget to mark on it the places for installing inspection doors, ventilation grilles, lighting fixtures(if any) and so on. Otherwise, then everything will have to be redone on the spot, and this, from my own experience, I know, is quite difficult.

Installation of drywall sheets

Now we turn to the installation of the GKL. I chose them just because then it is supposed to finish the box with tiles. If you are just starting to work with your own hands and the appearance of the toilet is not in the foreground for you, I recommend using plastic panels. I will talk about them a little lower.

Before starting work, I always check the availability of everything necessary. Otherwise, later, if, for example, there are not enough self-tapping screws, you will have to change into clean clothes get in the car and go to the store. And these are always unnecessary problems, especially if there are traffic jams in the city.

So, for work you will need:

  1. Moisture resistant drywall. I don’t know what size your box is, but one sheet is enough for my head. Naturally, you need to buy moisture resistant.
  2. Galvanized profile for mounting the support. I'm already used to working with galvanization, but it can be replaced wooden blocks section 3 by 3 or 5 by 5. To avoid the formation of mold, I recommend treating the tree with a special antiseptic and hydrophobic composition.
  3. Fasteners. We are talking about self-tapping screws and dowels with screws. The latter are needed to attach the frame to the wall.
  4. Perforator and screwdriver. With the first one, you will quickly and easily make holes in monolithic concrete walls, and the second is suitable for tightening a large number of self-tapping screws holding the drywall in place.
  5. Knife. It is needed for cutting GKL. It is enough to mark the details, cut through the cardboard and a little gypsum, and then break the details. Cutting with a jigsaw is not necessary.
  6. Water or laser level. This is necessary in order to check the correct installation of the GKL. In the future, it will be easier for you to carry out decorative finishing.

By the way, just for decorative finishes, a different set of parts will be required. However, I will tell you this another time, otherwise you will not have the courage to read everything to the end.

Immediately you still need to buy inspection doors to cut holes for them. However, they can only be installed after the box is lined with ceramic tiles.

The further scheme of work is as follows:

  1. On the walls of the toilet, using a marker, I marked the places where the supporting elements of the frame will be attached.
  2. Then using a perforator necessary places I drilled holes, hammered plastic dowels into them, and then screwed galvanized profiles with screws.
  3. After that, I cut it with scissors for metal necessary details and built a frame from them according to a pre-made sketch. I twisted the profiles with screws, but you can use a special tool.

  1. The next step is cutting drywall. As I already said, one stationery knife with interchangeable blades is enough for me. You draw a line on the cardboard, cut it through and go deep into the plaster by about half the thickness of the plasterboard. After that, just break off the part. So, without noise and dust!
  2. Then I screwed the parts to the frame. Immediately cut out or left space for revision holes. I fixed it with self-tapping screws, screwing them with a screwdriver at a distance of 10 cm from each other. Maybe less, but I did not save.

As I said, then followed decorative trim, but I combined this step with tiling the entire toilet.

To you, inexperienced readers, I can give two more, but quite sensible, in my opinion, advice:

  1. When driving self-tapping screws into drywall, make sure that they do not damage on the other side. plastic pipes. Once my friend screwed in a plumbing screw. Guess how many kind words he heard in his address?
  2. So that at night you do not wake up from the roar of water in the pipes, with inside any box can be laid soundproof material. It must be able to withstand moisture and heat well.

Plywood can also be installed in the same way. The only thing I would recommend is not to use a moisture-resistant PSF, but a regular FC. The first emits formaldehydes into the air, which, not only stink, are also harmful to human health.

Installation of plastic panels

If the story about working with drywall did not inspire you to exploits, I can advise you to use plastic panels. This material, in comparison with GKL, has several advantages:

  • quickly and easily mounted on the frame;
  • the design has a light weight, can be disassembled and reassembled if necessary;
  • plastic is completely hygienic, not afraid of high humidity;
  • you can choose panels of any color and texture, which diversifies the design of the toilet;
  • panels are cheaper than drywall and tiles, but have a fairly long service life.

I would use plastic myself, but it doesn’t go well with tiles, and the client didn’t really like this option either. Or rather, didn't like it at all.

The process itself is similar to the one described above, with a few differences:

  1. I would advise the frame to be made of wood. In this case, the plastic can be fixed with a conventional construction stapler, saving time.
  2. In addition to panels, you need to buy initial and corner elements, which form the ends of the box. Otherwise, to achieve perfection in appearance construction will not work.

Conclusion

As for other options for the box, you can safely act by analogy, there are no special secrets there. In addition, you can watch the video in this article, where there is a lot of information regarding apartment renovation. And it’s time for me to start laying the tiles, which, of course, I will talk about a little later.
