Onyx in the interior of the bathroom. Wall cladding with onyx and flooring with onyx. Monochrome palette in the bathroom in all shades of cocoa

This puzzle went to our technologist/foreman "by acquaintance" from his friend, the designer, who talked about the repair of this house more than once even before the start of our work. It was here that plywood was skillfully laid under, we have already talked about this.
At that time, it was useless to fight with their local commander-in-chief for construction until other builders entered the site.

The problem started with that the pioneers - the repairmen lifted the inlet sewer 14 cm from the floor, respectively, the water does not go up, and the bath should be above the sewer level. Everything would be fine if it were not for the fact that a very deep bath. From this situation, the masters decided to get out as follows - strongly raise the podium under the bath (the bath was built into brickwork). When these works were done, and the onyx was somehow laid, the hostess came and asked: “How can I get into the bath?”. “And we will make a step for you,” she received the answer. And here it seems not so scary, but the step could turn out only in one version - next to front door, so she would have stood in the most uncomfortable place. In principle, the guys could offer and put a chair - you can easily climb on it and then dive into the bath, and when it is not needed, you can remove it - a universal step in their spirit. The hostess did not like the idea with a step and she decided to put up with the fact that she could not put a deep bath there. Started looking new bath. For some reason found bathtub 180 long, although the distance between the walls was 176. The most interesting thing is that it was impossible to move the walls apart, since the onyx had already been laid. What to do? What to do with 4 centimeters from the bath? And how to lower the podium without breaking everything? The history of this oval acrylic 180 cm bathtub has already faded in memory, so to answer the question “Why exactly it?” now it won't work. But the task at that time was difficult, given all the skill with which that previous group of people worked.

Finally, this puzzle went to our technologist / foreman "by acquaintance".
It was necessary to take into account all the circumstances and restrictions: pipes with water were laid in the walls, there was no more onyx, the hostess would not survive the new renovation of the bathroom, and no one was going to buy a new bath - especially since there were already 2 pieces on the site that the owner of the house did not like. In this situation, only one thought came - to cut the bath!

Someone will laugh, someone will think badly, but the task will not be solved from this - it was necessary to finish the renovation of the bathroom.

We all know that there are no unsolvable problems! Cut - so cut. It is important to do this more competently, since there is only one way out.

Since the bath was oval, then cutting in a straight line is complete blasphemy. So you need to cut along the radius. First, everything was agreed with the owner of the house, and she agreed. In the end, everything was done: the podium was cut off by 15 centimeters, the recess for the new bathtub was expanded, the bathtub was cut off. The photographs show this process. After the cut, the edges of the tub were sanded and made smoother (this result is not shown in the photo).

Also, if you pay attention to the stone itself, you will notice that it is damaged - next to the seams, onyx has acquired dark shade, this happened due to the use of a simple tile adhesive, the stone absorbed the grayness from it. And if you look at the veins of the stone, it becomes clear that they mounted it "anyhow." Although, given that the local tiler took 500 re. per square meter, the result is not surprising.
